All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** The Graham Leader Monday, June 14, 2004 - Ê Ward Pendleton, a 69, of Olney died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Olney Hamilton Hospital. Services were Thursday, June 10, at First Baptist Church of Olney with the Revs. Cliff Sims, pastor, and Bill Wheeler of Amarillo officiating. Interment was at Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home. Mr. Pendleton was born June 9, 1934, in Meri to the late Troy and Mable (Thomason) Pendleton. He and LuAnn Morris were married Sept. 29, 1956, in Lone Oak. He served as superintendent of schools and ag teacher for Newcastle Independent School District for several years and was a member of Newcastle Masonic Lodge. The Pendletons moved to Olney from Newcastle in 1972. He was a past president of the Olney Lions Club and a member of First Baptist Church. For the last 30 years, he was employed with Region 9 Educational Services involving special education and bus driver training programs. He was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association. He was a longtime member of the Olney Rodeo Association and served as president for several years. Survivors include his wife, LuAnn Pendleton of Olney; two sons, Jeff Pendleton of Olney and Tim Pendleton of Stephenville; a daughter, Vicki Pendleton of South Bend; two brothers, Jack Pendleton and wife Brenda of Edgewood and Merle Pendleton and wife Teresa of Lone Oak; and four grandchildren, Shane Pendleton, Brady Pendleton, Blaze Pendleton and Ray Isham.
