Selby, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Heavenly Father on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2005. She was 81 years of age. She passed away with family members present. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 25, at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. Anyone wanting to send flowers may send them to McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham. Ella was born Dec. 25, 1923, to Joseph and Ella Mikeska in Caldwell County. Upon retiring in 1971 to Graham, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking, fishing, cards and certainly enjoyed her grandchildren and children. Her favorite time of year was the spring and she would plant flowers avidly each year. No other person was so caring and concerned as she was in her lifetime for her children. Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Selby, and a son, Charles Allen Parker. Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Parker and James Parker; two daughters, Katherine Greene and Carol Sitig; her grandchildren, Dustin Parker, Chelsie Parker, Ashton Parker, Nicholas Ruiz, Jordan Ruiz, Caroline Brooks, Ashley Brooks and Ryan Sitig; and a great-grandchild, Christine Rayner. A special thank you to the A.L.West Hospice Center caregivers in Fort Worth for such caring and giving services to her in her last days. A job very well done by all of the staff there.
