All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** The Graham Leader, Thursday, July 7, 1966, page 6 Shepard Rites Held Tuesday Mr. William Robert Shepard, 91, pioneer Young County resident, died 10:30pm July 3 at his home, 801 Austin Road, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services for Mr. Shepard were conducted 4pm Tuesday from the Morrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Hubert Foust, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Rev. Jimmy Warren of Jermyn, Texas officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery with Funeral arrangements by Morrison Funeral Home. Mr. Shepard, a retired farmer, was born march 28, 1875 in Washington County, Arkansas, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Shepard. He married Miss Rosa Evaline French, Jan. 3, 1895 at Sunset, Arkansas. The couple moved to Young County, in December 1906 from Weatherford, Texas. Survivors include the widow; five sons, Joe Shepard, Jess Shepard and Lee Shepard all of Graham, Earl Shepard of Jermyn, Texas and W. B. Shepard of Hillsboro; a daughters Mrs. Walter Sanders of Claude, Texas; two brothers, Ed Shepard of Graham and V.N. Shepard of California; 21 grand-children and 38 great-grandchildren.
