Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Forest Park Lawndale in the Chapel of the Angels with the Rev. Terry Strack officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. Mrs. Vaughan was born April 3, 1926, in Knox County to the late James Noland and Bessie Hogan Kee. She attended Olney High School. She married Joseph Robert Vaughan March 5, 1949, in Houston. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1976. Mrs. Vaughan was an engraver for Southern Engraving of Houston for 25 years, and Dickson’s Inc. in Atlanta for four years. She enjoyed oil painting, quilting and genealogy. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Houston in her early years, and later, Gideon Baptist Church of Houston. She became a member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Ga., after she moved to Georgia in 1988. Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. Kee in 2003 and Jeff Kee in 1979; sisters, Alene Blagg in 1979 and Betty Clinton in 2004. Survivors include her son, Robert I. Vaughan and wife Renee of Dawsonville, Ga.; daughters, Linda J. Anderson and husband William (Bill) of Missouri City; and Beverly J. Baker and husband Fred of Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren, Monique M. Gullo and husband Pete, Paul R. Vaughan and wife Kara, Joshua D. Vaughan, Abe C. Neyland and wife Cindy, Erin N. Anderson, and Lauren N. Baker; great-grandchildren, Sara R. Terrell, Emma T. Gullo, Sam L. Gullo, Cayla Neyland, Andy Patterson, Kaeley E. Vaughan and Isabel M. Vaughan; sisters, Lorena Bubeck and husband Alan, and Jimmie Cope and husband Grady; brothers, Charles Kee and wife Hilda, Billy Kee and wife Melba, and Glenn Kee and wife Mary. The family will be at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home to receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, May 16.
