Ê Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 30, at the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Duvall, pastor of Newcastle Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed at Newcastle Cemetery. Ê Mrs. Williams was born Nov. 7, 1910, in Dean to the late Mack N. and Florence (McCarthy) Thompson. She and Thomas Fikes married Nov. 6, 1930, in Lovington, N. M. He preceded her in death in February 1938. She moved to Newcastle in 1938 from Snyder. She married William W. "Bill" Williams July 1952 at Palo Pinto. He preceded her in death March 31, 1993. She was a retired nurse's aide, working for Hamilton Hospital in Olney a number of years. She was a member of Newcastle Baptist Church. Ê She was preceded in death by a son, Mack Fikes, in February 1994 and a grandson, Larry Fikes, Nov. 3, 1995. Ê Survivors include three sons, Wade Fikes and wife Edwana of Olney, Dean Fikes of Fort Worth, and Tom Fikes and wife Nancy of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter: LaVerne Brown of Prescott, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Fikes of Inverness, Fla.; a sister: Omega Smith of San Angelo; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
