She was born January 4, 1914, in Bear River City, a daughter of Carl Gustave and Margaret Hutchinson Anderson. She married Franklin Elden Gardner, June 14, 1933, in Ogden. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, June 5, 1935. Anna was reared in Bear River City and educated in Brigham City. She had lived in Corinne, Elwood, Tremonton, Bear River City, and Brigham City. She was a nurse at the Tremonton Hospital for 12 years and decorated cakes and made delicious candy. She loved to crochet, hand embroidery, and made beautiful dolls. She worked in the Sunday School, Primary, MIA and Relief Society and was a member of the Brigham City 15th Ward. Anna will be remembered for her love of her family and her interest in their activities and friends. Surviving are three sons and two daughters and their spouses, Frank and Mary Gardner, Bear River City; Dallas and Dorothy Gardner, Smithfield; JoAnn and Jerald Gordon, Ogden; Terry and Barbara Gardner, Richfield; Karla and Scott Pella, Garland; 20 grandchildren; 81 great grandchildren; 28 great great grandchildren; one brother, Everett Anderson, Corinne. Preceding her in death were two grandsons, one granddaughter, three sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 5, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Bear River LDS Chapel, 6780 North 4700 West, with Bishop Hal Probst, officiating. Condolences may be extended to the family at: www.rogersandtaylor.com Lela Jenson Anderson Bear River City - Lela Jenson Anderson passed away Thursday, June 27, 2002 at the Brigham City Community Hospital of natural causes. She was born May 15, 1908 in Bear River City, the third of the six children of Alfred Christian and Elvinia A. Jenson. She married Harland Lee Anderson on June 1, 1944 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Lela was a life long resident of Bear River City, she received her education at Bear River City Elementary and Box Elder High School. She received an Associates Degree in 1927 from Weber Junior College and her Bachelors in Education from Utah State University in 1960. She spent 34 years teaching in the Box Elder School District, beginning in Blue Creek. She also taught in Tremonton, Willard, Brigham City, Elwood, and Bear River City. In 1989 the Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa recognized her as "Teacher of the Year". She enjoyed her teaching experiences and loved her numerous conversations with her former students. Lela was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During her lifetime, Bear River City grew from one ward to three wards, and she was a member of each. She was also an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her son - Fred (Kathleen) Anderson of Pleasant View, Utah; five grandchildren - Jayne (Shaun) Oertwig of Brentwood, CA, Nancy (Alvin) Ulsh of Oakley, CA, Brian (Heidi) Anderson of Bear River City, Jon Pomrenke of American Fork, and Gretchen Lee Anderson of Pleasant View; one sister - Eleanor Williams of Salt Lake City; one brother - A. Calvin (Shirley) Jenson of Brigham City; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters - Lois Christensen and Blanche Budge; and one brother - Percy Johnson. Condolences may be extended to the family at: www.rogersandtaylor.com ANTONIO "TONY" SILVA BRIGHAM CITY Antonio "Tony" Garcia Silva, 74, passed away Sunday July 7, 2002 at the Brigham City Hospital of respiratory failure. He was born July 5, 1928 in Fredricksburg, TX the sixth of 10 children of Marcelo Sanchez and Josefa Garcia Silva. Tony was a long time resident of Brigham City. He worked for Hill Air Force Base as a warehouseman for 32 years, and has been retired for the past 19 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, vacationing in Wendover, and visiting with friends and family. Tony is survived by his sisters Juana, Estelle, and Mary all of Brigham City, and Felix of Ogden, and one brother Elidio Silva of Fresno, CA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews that thought of Tony as a second father, one who they could talk to about anything. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Pat, Domingo, Ebbie, and Marcello. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Chruch. Send condolences to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com Brandon Kevin Richan Bothwell - Brandon Kevin Richan, 17, has returned to his Heavenly Father and reunited with his brother, Travis, on July 4, 2002 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 15, 1984 in Brigham City, Utah, to Kevin George Richan and Teresa Hadley. He was reared and educated in the Tremonton area and was attending Bear River High School. Brandon loved sports, friends, life and talking on his cell phone. He had a love for the outdoors, especially camping with his family. He had a special love for and bond with his nephew, Taggert. He also had a special love for his stepfather, Bret. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and had just been ordained a Priest. He has been called to serve a different mission than the earthly mission he had planned. He is survived by his parents: Bret and Teresa Williams, Bothwell; Kevin and Michelle Richan, Corinne; three brothers: Taylor Richan, Corinne; Chance and Chase Williams, Paradise; four sisters: Jessica (Chuck) Bingham, Tremonton; Kassie Williams, Bothwell, Kaylee and Lezley Richan, Corinne; Grandparents: Roy and Marilyn Hadley, Tremonton; Ruth Williams, Tremonton; Merle Richan, Brigham, George Richan, Brigham and Robert and Larrie Norton, Corinne. DUNN PERRY Richard Marvel Dunn, finished his mission on earth and returned home to his Heavenly Father July 2, 2002 in Koblenz, Germany. He suffered from a brain aneurysm while visiting his son and family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He touched many lives with his kindness and sincere love for all. He was born April 11, 1933 in Brigham City, Utah to Marvel J. and Florence (Cheadle) Dunn. He married Charleen Tilley in the Logan temple on March 19, 1959. Richard graduated from Box Elder High School, received a Bachelors degree from BYU and a Masters degree from USU. He served an LDS mission in South Africa from 1953-1955, served in the Military in Germany 1956-1958. He was an educator in Box Elder School District from 1959 to 1990 as a teacher and elementary school principal. He and his wife served a LDS mission to Guyana, South America and Indianapolis, Indiana 1991-1992. He was a member of the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life, including Bishop of the Brigham City 7th Ward. He is survived by his wife and his two daughters and two sons; Marvee (Delwin) Lee of Brigham City; Lisa Dunn of Perry; Tyler (Katja) Dunn of Nensingen, Germany; David R. She was born December 8, 1916 to Thomas and Anna Fitzpatrick Pike in Wildrose, N.D., and was raised in Southern Illinois, outside St. Louis. She married the love of her life, Joseph Westerdahl February 26, 1938 in Chicago, where they raised their 5 children. Dad died November 25, 1981. She moved to Brigham City in April 1984 to be near family. She was a woman of deep Christian faith. She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church, was a square dancer, volunteered in reading programs, and enjoyed life. She lived near New Orleans before moving to Ogden. She is survived by her children, Ruth Ann (Tom) Patton, Tucson; Kathleen (Frank) Vito, Chicago; Phyllis (John) Sucher, Ogden; Joseph Westerdahl, Brigham City; her 11 grandchildren, Theresa, Pam, Thomas Jr., Tony, Sharon, Frank, Kerri, Kelli, Brian, Collin, Angela; her 11 great-grandchildren, Robert, Jasmine, Thomas III, Brandon, Ian, Emma, Alex, Andy, Emerald, Harrison, Andrew; and 1 great-great granddaughter, Oceana. All of her Little Rascals were most dear to her. A memorial mass will be held at St. Henry's Wednesday, July 17 at 10 a.m. The family thanks everyone who helped care for Ruth this last while, especially the loving staff at The Gardens. BERNICE DUNCAN MITCHELL CLINTON/BRIGHAM CITY Bernice Duncan Mitchell, 84, passed away Sunday July 14, 2002 following surgery at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. She was born on December 25, 1917 in Roy, a daughter of William K. and Lydia Robinson Duncan. She married Clarence S. Mitchell on December 9, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Bernice graduated from Weber High School and worked for 24 years as a unit manager in the Davis County School Food Service, retiring in 1983. She served in many positions in the LDS Church and was a visiting teacher for 62 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers camps in Clinton and Brigham City. Bernice crocheted 215 Afghans and hundreds of house slippers, many baby dresses and baby booties, all of which she gave to family and friends. She enjoyed working on family and community histories. She was a kind and gracious person and will be loved and missed by her family and friends. Her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, Clarence, Brigham City; children and spouses; Bill (Arlene) Mitchell, Brigham City; Nancy (Elden "Mick" ) Spencer, Marie (Brent) Gardner, Syracuse; 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He was born October 3, 1922, in Peterson, Utah, the youngest of seven sons born to Robert Joseph and Joanna Dyan Taggart Jones. He grew up in the Ogden and Corrinne, Utah area. He served in India during World War II in the Army Air Corps servicing The Flying Tigers of General Chennault. He married Rhodean Steggel and they were the parents of two sons, Randolph Ross Jones and Wesley Bert Jones. They were later divorced. He married Roberta Rasmussen on April 27, 1957, in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. They were the parents of two sons, Paul Edward Jones and Keith Ross Jones. During his life, Ross worked in many jobs including insurance salesman, truck driver, asphalt mixer for Gordon Paving, and as a delivery man for Klink's Florists. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include his wife, Roberta of Burley; a son, Paul Edward Jones of Orem, Utah; two step sons, Stewart Tracy of Preston and Douglas Tracy of Utah; a brother, Melvin Jones of Wendell; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sons. Belinda Gay Howard Tremonton, UT-Belinda Gay Howard, 44, passed away peacefully at her Tremonton home on Friday, July 12, 2002. She was born July 22, 1957, in Gardena, CA, to Donovan Earl and Verna Turnbow Howard. Belinda grew up in Southern California and loved it there. She graduated from Anaheim High School and LDS seminary where she participated in the choir. She moved to Utah at the age of 19 and she has resided here ever since. She was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a Primary Teacher. Music was an important part of Belinda's life...she had a beautiful singing voice and loved to play the guitar. She developed a great love for the Savior and this love was felt as she sang for her family and friends who loved her very much. She loved animals and children. Some of her happiest moments were when she was with her cousins and nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as "Aunt Minnie." She was a wonderful aunt, sister, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her mother, Verna, Brigham City (formerly of Tremonton); siblings, Robin (Guy) Salazar, China, Tami (Keith) Stockwell, Roy, and Donovan (Sonja) Howard, Jr., Bear River City; a special life-long friend Shawna (David) Eggli, Tremonton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her. Her father, Donovan E. Howard, Sr., and her grandparents Alden and LaVee Turnbow preceded her in death. GENE HARDY BRIGHAM CITY - Loving Husband, Father, "Papa", Brother, and Son, Gene Hardy, 57, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2002 at McKay-Dee Hospital following surgery for a brain tumor. He was born on July 29, 1944 in Tucson, Arizona, the son of Melvin and Ada Hardy. Gene was an active member of the LDS church and served a mission to Chile from 1963 to 1965. He married Maureen Kelly in Tucson, Arizona on October 7, 1966. They were sealed along with their children, Karen, Kim, and Kevin in the Oakland Temple on June 11, 1975. Gene loved camping, animals, especially his horses (which he thought were worthless until he got one), but most of all his family gatherings. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor. Gene loved being "Papa" to Austin, Jordan, Caleb, Kylie and Marissa. They liked nothing better than going out to the barn with him and feeding the horses. He worked for the Southern & Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years, retiring May of 2002. Gene and Maureen lived in Tucson, Arizona. Roseburg, Oregon, Ogden, Utah and then in Brigham City. He was loved by all who knew him and he leaves friends from everywhere he lived. Surviving are his wife, Maureen of Brigham City; three children, Karen Hardy of Tucson, AZ; Kim (Darin) Campbell of Riverdale, Utah; Kevin (Joanna) Hardy of Brigham City; his father, Melvin Hardy of Roseburg, OR; three sisters, Kay Tano of Roseburg, OR; Kathy Egner of Salem, OR; Wendy Coltrin of Sandy, UT; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. VALERIE HARDMAN BURNETT LOGAN Valerie Burnett, 86, of Logan, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 9, 2002. She was born May 2, 1916, in Mendon, Utah, the 2nd child of Gwen Dolan and Lucille Bird Hardman. Her early years were spent in Mendon, Utah and Arbon, Idaho. She graduated from South Cache High in 1934 and attended Brigham Young University. She married Carl Burnett on December 3, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two daughters. In 1939, they moved to Midvale, Utah, and then to Brigham City in 1956. After retirement, she and Carl moved to Logan and spent their winters in St. George. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in the primary as a teacher and counselor in the stake, Relief Society secretary and a visiting teacher. She also served in the Brigham City Tabernacle Mission for 8 years. She had a very strong testimony and love for the gospel. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family her entire life. She was a wonderful cook and a very efficient homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, handwork, reading, and spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Oakeson (Ken), Brigham City, and Dalene Hansen (Reid), Farmington; one brother, Russell Hardman, Pocatello, ID; and two sisters, Lois Layne and LaDonna Plowman, Logan, UT; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, and a grandson. Robinette, 77, passed away on Thursday, July 18 after a short illness. He was the son of Edna Mary Davis and Charles Alonzo Robinette. He was born and raised in Brigham City, Utah. He is survived by four children, a son-in-law, nine grandchildren, and a special daughter-in law; Terry L. Robinette and her two children, Mary and Mark; Julie Ann Robinette and Wayne Lurz and their two children, Casey and Brittany; Keith R. and Teresa Cuch, and their children, David, Shayla and Joshua; and Matthew C. Robinette, and his daughters, Zayla and Chloe. He is also survived by his sister, Opal Robinette Fox, one niece, Sherril Matthews Reece, and three nephews, Kenneth Lloyd Fox, Gary Fox and Keith Robinette. He was raised in Belize and attended St. John College. Les was a sergeant in the Army and served in Desert Storm. He won an Army Commendation Medal, an Army Achievement Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, an Air Medal, a NonCommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, an Army Service Ribbon and an Overseas Service Ribbon. He worked at Penske Towing from May 2000 to March 2002 and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 3892. Les lived in Harker Heights, TX, for four years and attended Grace Christian Church. Les is survived by his former wife, Kathleen Gomez of Brigham City, UT; four sons: Edward Gomez of Fairbanks, AK; John Gomez and Timothy Gomez of Gulfport, MS; Brian Gomez of Logan, UT; daughter, Megan Gomez of Brigham City; four brothers: David, Michael, Norman, Roger; three sisters: Rosalee McNab, Margaret, Jenny; six grandchildren. Kenneth Ray McAnally Willard - Kenneth Ray McAnally, 82, died Thursday July 18, 2002 of natural causes. He was born June 4, 1920 in Coal Hill, Arkansas to William and Ruby Collins McAnally. Kenneth retired after working 37 years for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He was active with the senior citizens and the spike club. He was a convert of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in1983 and active in the Willard 3rd Ward as a High Priest. He enjoyed traveling, Jazz games, and spent many hours volunteering at the senior center in Brigham. Madsen, 55, returned to his Heavenly Father on July 20, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer .He was born September 20, 1946, Richard was a gift to Victor Earl and Elizabeth Romney Madsen. After graduating from Box Elder High School in 1964, he attended Weber State University. There he met and married Loueda Marie Allan. They were blessed with three children, Terry, Tonya, and Ty. Together they shared 17 years. Rick later married Wendy Winward, together they spent 12 adventurous years. His passion for fast cars lead him to building and racing off road dune buggies. Throughout this career he was very accomplished and participated in professionally sponsored, hill climbing, off road, sand, and street racing. Rick also enjoyed a successful career in the Auto body and mechanics industry. He became known, and was awarded for his talent in the restoration and customizing of early model mustangs. Rick was loved by many and will be truly missed. He is survived by two sons Terry and Ty, a daughter Tonya; Grandsons Chase and Anthony, Granddaughters Chelsea and Kenya, and a special friend, Dixie Jones. Send condolences to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com CONNIE LAVON ERDMANN HANSEN BRIGHAM CITY Connie LaVon Erdmann Hansen, beloved wife, aunt, relative and friend passed away on Friday, July 19, 2002, at Meadowbrook/Peach Tree Assisted Living in Brigham City, Utah. She was born January 18, 1913, in Brigham City, Utah to Harvey Lester Erdmann and LaVon Jones Erdmann. On July 4, 1935, she married her faithful and loving companion of 67 years, Henry Leland Hansen. They were married in their home by their lifelong friend, Henry Nielson. Connie was reared and educated in Brigham City, Utah. An avid fan of the Box Elder Bees, she and Henry could always be seen cheering in the stands and later on in life viewing football games from their car. A devoted and loving wife to her husband, she was always by his side most often working in their garden or tending to their orchard. She took great pride in both and visitors always went home with a big box of fruit and vegetables. Besides Henry, Connie's greatest love in life was her flower garden. She raised many varieties, but her favorite was her roses. They were huge and absolutely gorgeous. Connie was raised on a farm west of Brigham City, which probably accounts for much of her love and devotion to her plants. She and her husband loved to travel and had visited the Caribbean, Hawaii and most of the United States. She will always be remembered for the humorous little songs her mother taught her as a child and for her cute infectious laugh. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Catarina, Lisa, Joe, Marie and all of the staff at Peach Tree Assisted Living for the tender loving care they gave to Connie. She was born January 3, 1909 in Brigham City, Utah to Gertrude Marie Jacobsen and Hyrum L. Johnson. She graduated from Box Elder High. She also Graduated from Weber College and Utah State University. Iona was an elementary school teacher. She taught school at Boothe Valley, Corrinne, Central, Mountain View, and Lake View schools. On July 11, 1944, she married Genero P. Cefalo in Cambridge Massachusetts. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a member of the Lake View Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During the years she had worked in Primary, Sunday School, Young Women and Relief Society. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 50 years. Iona enjoyed needlework, crocheting, and artwork. She loved nature and gardening, especially beautiful flowers. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three sons Robert Bruce (Carol) Cefalo, Ronald Gene (Louise) Cefalo, Randall Lee (Debbie) Cefalo all of Brigham City; along with 16 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Dot Tingey of Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Joseph R. (Rossco) Eskelsen, 76, passed away July 23, 2002 from a long battle with leukemia. Ross was born October 8, 1925 in Odgen, UT, to Arthur and Sara Eskelsen. Ross married Virginia Lee Johnson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 26, 1952. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Ross worked for U & I Sugar Company for many years in West Jordan, UT, Garland, UT, and Pasco, WA. After the closing of the sugar company, he then worked for Tri-City Electric in Pasco, WA, until the company moved to Sunnyside, WA. In 1989 he then went to work for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a maintenance worker until he retired in 1999. Ross has held various jobs with the LDS Church. Ross' favorite hobbies were listening to his scanners, chasing fire trucks and ambulances if they were nearby, bowling, yard work, and camping with his children and grandchildren. Ross is survived by his wife, Virginia; three children: Jacquie (Lynn) Parsons of Olympia, WA, Wendy Eskelsen (long-time companion Lisa Ballantyne) of La Sal, UT; Steve (Valerie) Eskelsen of Ballwin, MO; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Ross was preceded in death by his mom and dad; two sisters, Ruth and Nora; and a grandson, JD. There will be a viewing Wednesday, July 31, from 6-8 p.m. and a funeral service on Thursday, August 1 at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the services, at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State State, Midvale, UT. Burial will be at Murray City Cemetery, Murray, UT. Ross will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. LEON M. VAIL ROY- Leon M. Vail, 66, returned home to his Father in Heaven on Saturday, July 27, 2002. He was surrounded by his loving family, who has been so kind and caring to him through all of his illnesses. He died peacefully at the VA Hospital, from complications following GI cancer surgery. He was born December 7, 1935, Fairview, Wyoming to Marvin James and Elva Florence Nielson Vail. He shared many fond memories of Star Valley, Wyoming with his six siblings. At the age of 10 his family moved to Brigham City, Utah. He attended Brigham City Schools and graduated from Box Elder High School. He excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He received All-State honors in all three sports. He served in the Army National Guard Reserves for two years while attending high school. He also served in the Untied States Army as a Corporal. His duties included being on the ski patrol infantry in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Korean conflict and also played on the Army baseball team. He received the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1956. Leon married Barbara Jeppsen on April 6, 1957. And from that marriage had four beautiful children. They were later divorced. On June 21, 1996 , he married Susan Beazer in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity. He was a member of the LDS Church and was a High Priest. He served in many callings, his favorite being the High Priest Group Leader. He was a member of the Cedar Crest Ward in the North Roy Stake. He loved attending the Temple, doing temple work and serving others. He retired from HAFB after 20 years of service. Leon attended Snow College and Weber State College to fulfill his dream of being a Building Contractor. He built homes in Brigham City, Utah and Coeur D Alene, Idaho. To know Leon was to love him. His greatest achievement was the love he shared with his family. He believed that all people should be happy and truly love one another. He exemplified a Christ like life. Leon is survived by his wife Susan, five children: Gary Vail, Ogden, Judi (Cary) Isaacson, Layton, Sharon (Larry) Gallegos, North Ogden, Mary (Regina) Vail, Layton and Jeff Able, Brigham City, one step daughter: Angie (Mike) Wilson, one stepson: Robert (Rozalyn) Anderson. He is also survived by two brothers: Wayne (Audrey) Vail, Blackfoot, Idaho, Dennis (Evelyn) Vail, Clinton, and one sister: Marva Spiers, Brigham City, 22 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. John was born on June 20, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Briant Smith and Hazel Sessions Stringham. He grew up in Clearfield, Utah, and graduated from Davis High in 1955. John served an honorable full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in the Southwest Indian Mission. He graduated from BYU in 1963. From 1960 to 1966, he served in the Army Reserves. John married Jerolyn Peterson on May 29, 1962, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1977, John became a Realtor, where he became well known as a man of great integrity and character and was referred to by many as "Honest John." He was a man without guile. He finished his career working for Coldwell Banker West Realty in Provo, Utah. Earlier this year, John turned over his business to his son, Richard. John accepted every Church calling ever extended to him, and he recently served as bishop of his local ward for nearly five years. John was a faithful husband, father, brother, and friend. He was loved and revered from his youth by everyone who became acquainted with him. John is survived by his wife, Jerolyn Peterson Stringham, all eight of their children, two brothers, two sisters, and thirteen grandchildren. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. ROBBINS BRIGHAM CITY - Dorothy Wilson Robbins, 88, died July 27, 2002. Born April 14, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Kathleen Jamison Wilson. Dorothy married Otis "Doak" Robbins 26 March 1932 in Riverside, California. He died December 29, 1981. She was a member of St. Henry s Catholic Church, was a Soroptimist and enjoyed working with the Literacy Program. They owned and operated Robbins Bakery and later Robbins Donut Shop in Brigham City for over forty years. Survived by son, William Robbins, 6 grandchildren, William J. Robbins (Paula), J Lynne Hatch (Kevin), Kathy Davis (Chris), Mary Ann Carabine (Steve), Jennifer Kinard (Jeff), Jeffrey Robbins (Meisha), 23 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. MARBLE CORINNE - Ned Craner Marble, 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in Logan, Utah. He was born on November 7, 1912 in Provo, Utah, a son of Hyrum Lyman and Sarah Emily Craner Marble. Ned married Alice Deloris Nelson on December 21, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1989. He was a member of the Corinne 1st Ward where he was a high priest. He loved to fish, hunt, camp, and travel and his dog, Tasha. His most favorite thing to do is visit with people. Ned loved his family and was proud of his heritage. Ned farmed most of his life and also worked at Thiokol, DDO, Mosquito Abatement and Utah Onion. Surviving are his five children, Duane (Della) Marble of Corinne; ReNee (Boyd) Smith of Paradise; Reese (Dorothy) Marble of Bear River City; Irene (Dennis) Fredrickson of Avon; Janice (Curtis) Olsen of Paradise; 17 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; one sister, Afton Wood of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; one granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters. JACK JEROME HOLLAND BRIGHAM CITY - Jack Jerome Holland, 82, returned home to his Father in Heaven and his parents on Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at his home in Brigham City. He was born on July 5, 1920 in Bear River City, Utah, a son of John Henry and Edith Rose Holland. Jack served in the US Army during World War II receiving an honorable discharge. He married Nondus Larsen Holland and they later divorced. He then married Virginia Collie and they were later divorced. Jack was known as a Jack of all trades, carpenter, sheep herder, mechanic, laborer. He spent most of his working career working for Merrill s Lumber Company. He loved to fish, hunt, garden and tell stories and sing to his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was known as a modern day Doctor Dolittle because of his love of raising animals. He will be remembered for his cheerful disposition and his loving laughter by those of us who knew and loved him. Surviving are one son, Michael (Karen) Holland of Honeyville; two step daughters, Trina Gonzales of Tremonton; Tamara Mecham of Brigham City; one step son, Sean Beckstead of Willard; 14 grandchildren; seven sisters; Faye; Dorothy; Connie; Betty; Mary; Darlene and Kathleen and one brother, Max Holland and many nieces and nephews. She was born September 28, 1924 in Scofield, Utah, to Archibald Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Wright Anderson. She married John (Jack) P. Francis on November 20, 1944 and later had three wonderful children, Bill, Renee and Even. Beulah enjoyed her rose garden, sewing, crocheting, baking, and most of all spending time and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, John P. (Jack) of Brigham City; two sons, Bill (Joan) Francis of Smithfield; Keven (Naomi) Francis of Richmond; one daughter, Renee Stone of Clinton; twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by one sister, and three brothers. Her family wishes to extend a special thanks and express their gratitude to the hospice team, especially Kathleen and Meta and also to her daughter, Renee and her granddaughter, Heidie for taking special care of her during her last month her on earth. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery ELISABETH "LUCY" COPPIN BOUNTIFUL/BRIGHAM CITY- Elisabeth "Lucy" Schinkel Coppin, 93, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2002 in Bountiful, Utah of old age. She was born August 31, 1908, in Utrecht, the Netherlands, to Jan Schinkel and Wilhemina Brouwer. Sole LDS convert of her family, she came to Utah in 1930. Lucy married Thomas Frank Coppin in the Salt Lake Temple, November 16, 1932. She lived in Salt Lake, Provo and Brigham City where her husband was in the automobile business, and since 1992 lived in assisted living in Bountiful. Frank died in 1994. They had four children; Margaret Rose (deceased), Thomas Don (Joanne), David Frank (Kathy), and Patrick Jan (Ann). Frank and her three sons served missions to her native Holland. She anguished over the prolonged illness and eventual death of her daughter, took pride in her sons, and relished over 50 years of close friendship with a close group of former missionaries to the Netherlands and their wives. She had wonderful friendships in Provo and Brigham City. She was an excellent cook, catering to her husband's tastes and loved making rolls for others out of friendship and service. Lucy retired her bicycle and learned to drive at the age of 44, golf at age 46, and was active in civic affairs. She served in various church callings and supervised countless ward dinners. As her health slowly declined, she remained mentally sharp until near the end and had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her three sons: 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
