She also served for years in the extraction program. Karen always had a positive attitude during her 22-year battle with MS. She was an example to everyone that she came in contact with. She managed to brighten the lives of all those who came to visit her. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose selflessness always lifted the experiences of others and one of her greatest joys was giving to others. Her bubbly personality, sense of humor, unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and personal testimony allowed us to accept the challenges she faced in her life. Before she became unable, she enjoyed softball, dancing, and other activities. Later her greatest joy cam from her grandchildren by having slumber parties, watching games and shows, eating treats, having them sit with her and read to her, as well as just being together. She has left a legacy for others to follow, teaching those left behind to give their all, always be cheerful, upbeat, never complaining or losing the ability to see the funny side of things. Karen is survived by her husband, her four children, Todd (Raquel), Greg (Cherylyn) of Tremonton, Alison (Mitch) Kincaid of Ghent, Kentucky, and Angela of Logan, 11 grandchildren, her parents, and one sister, Kathleen (Martin) Raish of Rigby, ID. HITESMAN BRIGHAM CITY Janice Francine Cannon Hitesman peacefully left us September 3, 2002 after a valiant battle with cancer. She seldom left anywhere without making sure everyone had a smile on her face or a pleasant thought in their mind. So if by chance you wish to remember her, please do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do this, a part of Janice will live forever. Janice was born November 19, 1953 the only child of Janice Mardine Zellers and Matthew Cannon Jr., she was nurtured by her grandparents "Nana" and "Daddo" in Santa Barbara, CA after the passing of her mother. Janice attended the University of California Santa Barbara. Moving to Utah in 1973, she continued her education and received her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Gerontology from Utah State University. She married Mark Hitesman on December 7, 1985. Janice worked hard as a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate for the YWCA after closing her day care, "Janny's Day Care" in 1996. Some people endearingly called her "the crazy baby lady" because of her incredible love for infants. She also worked at K-Mart in Logan. Bowling a must, sewing a hobby, and line dancing was a want . . . if she could ever get Mark on the dance floor. But most of all, Jancie is Jancie and to know her is to love her. A smile, a laugh, a giddy giggle, and a love for an impromptu conversation is Janice. Janice's hopes and memories are left with her husband Mark Hitesman, daughters Melodie Hitesman, Robin (Jared) Bailey, Kellie (Brodey) Hansen, son Alexandre Pommier, granddaughter Timber Shay Bailey, grandmother Wanda "Nana" Zellers, two dogs Cubby and Sissy, and many friends.
