"JINKS" CONNER BRIGHAM CITY Jennings D. "Jinks" Conner died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 3, 2004, after a short illness. He was the ninth child born to William and Rhoda Conner on March 29, 1915, in Burley, Idaho. He was married to Uarda Jensen Conner for 41 years. She preceded him in death. He was married for the next nine years to Elda Hansen Conner. She also preceded him in death. The past fifteen years he has been married to his loving and sweet companion, Alice Wheatley Snow Conner. J. D. loved the outdoors and new adventure. The family spent eleven years in Anchorage, Alaska working at Fort Richardson. He was a homesteader and avid hunter. They returned to live in Brigham City, Utah where he worked for the Box Elder School District as a bus driver. He resided in the Brigham City and Perry area for the past 37 years. He worked very hard all his life to provide for and take care of his family. He was an active member of the Brigham Third Ward where he had many friends. J. D. was happy, positive and always had a joke or story to tell to everyone. No one was a stranger to him, everyone he met became his friend. We will miss his wonderful sense of humor, which he never lost. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Alice; two sons, Chris (Donna) Conner of Smithfield, Delose (Janice) Conner of Layton, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Linda (Robert) Warren, Alice (Craig) Yeates Smith, Leon (Roseanna) Snow, eleven step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides of Hospice, especially Jon, Teresa and Vicki, for their kind and loving care. Send condolences to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com DONNA BATY GROW OGDEN - Donna B. Grow, 79, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at a local care center from complications following a stroke. She was born January 30, 1925, in Harper Ward, Utah, a daughter of Richard Wilson and Wilhelmina Korth Baty. She was the youngest of eight children. Donna raised three children mostly by herself. To support them, she worked at three different drug stores in Brigham City. She later moved to Ogden where she managed Weber Office Supply until her retirement. Donna enjoyed playing cards, golfing, bowling, walking at the mall, watching the chariot races and attending activities at the South Ogden Senior Center. She appreciated all the friendships she developed doing these activities. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Surviving are her children, Michele "Mickey" Bosley (John Ray) Godfrey, Bluffdale; Tim M. (Eileen) Wells, Syracuse; David James Wells, West Jordan; six grandchildren, Jan Beach, Hallie McDonald, J. Scott Godfrey, Michael Godfrey, Sadie Fain; step-grandchildren, Wendy Austin and Cody Barnes and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Delone (Lee) Andersen, Pasco, WA. Donna was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray, John, Seth, Dan and Reece; one sister, Ruth Grant; and one great-grandchild. BRIGHAM CITY - Elva June Rasmussen Jackson, age 94, passed from this life after many hugs and tears, peacefully into the arms of her husband. Elva was born on June 12, 1909, in Bear River City, Utah, a daughter of Marie Henriksen and Nels Peter Rasmussen, Sr. On April 22, 1942, Elva married Evan H. Jackson in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived their entire married life in Box Elder County. Evan preceded her in death on May 28, 1998. She graduated from Bear River High School. She attended the University of Utah and Utah State University, receiving her teaching certificate. She taught school in Richmond, Utah. Elva was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many positions in all ward and stake auxiliaries. She served a mission to the Northwestern States from 1938 to 1940. Elva and Evan served a mission to Arizona from 1984 to 1985. They also served as ordinance workers in the temple for over ten years, a calling which was very special to them. Elva cared for her mother from a young age until her mother's death. She loved and enjoyed being around family preparing nice meals and having them all at home. She also enjoyed doing geneology, working in Family History Libraries for 12 years in Logan, three years in Ogden, and seven years in Brigham City. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Evan R. (Sarah) Jackson, Mountain View, WY; Jarvis (Cheryl) Jackson, WY; Camie (Steve) Olson, St. George, UT; Joan Jackson, Brigham City, UT; 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Elva was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and seven sisters. He was born January 11, 1973, in Ogden, Utah, a son of Alan B. and Judy Allen Porter. As an industrious child, he entertained the neighborhood with various carnivals and backyard activities. He attended Box Elder School and excelled in drama classes. He was in Palace Playhouse and received special recognition for his acting abilities. He also had parts in Heritage Theater, productions, "Mary", "Our town", "Mame", and "Tom Sawyer". Ryan was always a sure laugh. He had a huge heart; and loved his family and friends dearly. He had a special place in his heart for many nieces and nephews, who enjoyed his humor. They had many "front room" dance recitals and trampoline jump-a-thons together. He made "the best cookies ever." Ryan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ryan worked in the healthcare industry. He managed plasma centers in Salt Lake City, UT, South Bend, IN, Lansing, MI, Macon, GA and Savannah, GA. He was currently employed at Autumn Living in Brigham City, where he enjoyed working with the elderly. He is survived by his parents of Brigham City, and the following brothers and sisters: Steven (Letha) Porter, North Ogden, UT; Tonya (Todd) Hanson and Brenda (Alan) Dixon, Brigham City, UT; Blake (Luanne) Porter, Lewisville, TX; Glen (Treesa) Porter, Franklin, ID and Garth (Debi) Porter, Spanish Fork, UT. Send condolences to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com MAXINE GALE CHECKETTS TAYLOR BRIGHAM CITY - Maxine Gale Checketts Taylor, 87, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at her home surrounded by her family. Maxine was born May 17, 1916, a daughter of Joseph Hyrum and Kathryn Drysdale Gale in Ogden, the second of four daughters. She married Elwood F. Checketts on March 18, 1936, in Brigham City. From this union they had one son and three daughters. Elwood died on Friday, July 26, 1963, of a heart attack after 27 years of marriage. Maxine married Jack Taylor in 1964, gaining four step-children. He died in 1971. She worked for American Sportswear and later joined her first husband Elwood as owner of Richards Cold Storage Lockers. She continued running the business after his death. Maxine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In her early years, she made wedding cakes for family and friends. Her first love was crocheting. She was very active in the Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie #2919. She held the offices of Madam President, Past Madam President, Grand Madam State President and Past Grand Madam State President. She was also inducted into the FOE Hall of Fame, was a Charter Member since 1951 and was State Mother. She was also involved in the Guides Dogs of Utah. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon (Donald) Spinney, Carol (Leon) Silva and Linda Buck of Brigham City; daughter-in-law Rosalie (Robert) Checketts of Roy; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister Clo Riddel of Ogden; brother-in-law Gerald (Bonnie) Murdock; nephew Scott (Laura) Murdock of California; three step-sons, Monte, Rodney and Robert Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters, Josephine and Beverly, son Robert, grandson Michael, brother-in-law Pete Riddel and step-daughter Debra. She was born in Brigham City 0n February 9, 1910, to Peter P. Hendrickson and Kristine Mortensen. She was the second of ten children. She was raised in Corinne and graduated from Box Elder High School and Seminary. Anna married Lowen H. Wight February 20, 1932, and was sealed in the Logan LDS Temple in 1933. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed farming in Washington, where they lived for twenty years. They also lived in California and Oregon and moved to Brigham City in 1988. Anna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Lowen fulfilled a mission in New Zealand. She also held many leadership and teaching positions in Primary and Relief Society. She worked on genealogy on her family lines. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, crocheting, and gardening. Surviving are her three sons, Mark (Carol) Wight, Provo, UT; Richard (Judy) Wight, Sandy, UT; Dwayne (Debbie) Wight, Corinne, UT; 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Hadley, Ogden, UT. She was born September 22, 1913, in East Garland, Utah. She was the fifth of 15 children of William Jasper and Ellen G. Capener Rhodes. She married Mark Jonathan Wood on October 26, 1934, in Ogden. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 21, 1936. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2002. She worked at Box Elder County School District for 33 years and for 17 years served as County School Lunch Supervisor. Eula loved to feed not only the entire County School District but also anyone who had the pleasure of visiting her home. She was a member of the Garland First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in various callings. She is survived by her children: Bob (Marilyn) Wood, Gladstone, OR; Arlene (Bill) Bingham, Deweyville, UT; Dee Ann (Dallas) Nessen, Kaysville, UT; 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; siblings: Beth (Clyde) Wood, Cheyenne, WY; Carl Rhodes, Tremonton, UT; Alta (Eldon) Munns, Garland, UT; Blaine Rhodes, East Garland, UT; Margene Fryer, Bountiful, UT. She was born on September 28, 1915, a daughter of James and Catherine Pilling Spencer in Portage, Utah. She grew up in Tremonton, graduating from Bear River High School. LaVon married Albert J. (Bert) Reeve on August 23, 1937, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died on January 26, 1992. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served faithfully sports, drama, and Relief Society in the Fourth and Forest Hills Wards. She served a mission with her husband in Sacramento, CA. LaVon enjoyed membership in Ladies Community Club, Civic Club, Pen Women, and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She had been employed by Mountain States Telephone, Thiokol, and retired from Thiokol Job Corps. Surviving are her four children: Elaine (Arlan, deceased) Saunders, Cambridge, ID; RaDene (Deverell) Morgan, Brigham City, UT; Ron (Susan) Reeve. Brigham City, UT; Marilyn (Mike) Moskaitis, Tucson, AZ; plus 17 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. REEDER Ray Mathias Reeder, who taught history at Fort Lewis College (FLC) in Durango, Colorado, for 14 years, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He died at the age of 89 of natural causes. Ray was born May 16, 1914, in Brigham City, Utah, the son of Ada Mathias and Adolph Reeder. The family lived on a farm where they grew alfalfa and sugar beets. After serving a three-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in France, Mr. Reeder married Phyllis Johnson on May 29, 1941. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Ray taught religious studies at Bear River High School in Tremonton, Utah, for 12 years. During that time, he earned his master's degree from Utah State University. In 1960, the family moved to Provo, Utah, where Mr. Reeder taught religious studies at Farrer Junior High for six years while he earned his Ph.D. in history from Brigham Young University. The Reeders moved to Durango in 1966 where Mr. Reeder taught at FLC until he retired in 1980. He served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During their time in Durango, Mr. and Mrs. Reeder extracted more than 200,000 names from microfiche records for the Latter-day Saints Family History Center in Salt Lake City. In his free time, Mr. Reeder enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, practicing photography and reading. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, and his infant son, David. Mr. Reeder is survived by his daughters: Marilyn Asay of Denver, CO; Carol Ebright of Chigaco, IL; Kathleen Steed of Mapleton, UT and Jean Burns of Colorado Springs, CO; his brother, Dawn Reeder of Corinne, UT; his 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, with two on the way. She will be greatly missed. Doris was born October 25, 1925, in Viola, KS to Max and Marie Stinson. She married Harry Nighswonger on October 11, 1942, in Viola, KS. Harry preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Chuck (Martha) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; son Frank (Aleen) of North Salt Lake; daughter Cinda of Ogden; and son Bill (Wendy) of Salt Lake City. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, brother, Charles Delmar Stinson; and sister-in-law Mildred Stolpe. Doris and Harry began their married life in Kansas and moved to Missouri prior to settling in Brigham City, Utah in 1960. After Harry's retirement from Thiokol they moved to Alpine, WY to spend summers in the house they had built. They spent winters in Tucson, AZ. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing bridge and craft shows. She enjoyed sharing time with her grandchildren. Send condolences to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com DECINA ZILDA MANNING BRIGHAM CITY - Decina Zilda Manning, 79, formerly of Morrisville, Vermont and Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully from complications of Alzheimer's and stroke in Brigham City on Tuesday, April 6, 2004. She was born to Roy and Glenna Manning on April 23, 1924, in Swanton, VT, the youngest of three children. She lived most of her life in Vermont where she met and married Kenneth Chase. They had three children, two boys and one girl before his death. Later in life she married Lloyd Manning they enjoyed traveling together to Maine, Florida, Colorado and Oklahoma until his death in 1980. Decina did much in her life, including owning and operating her own restaurant in Middletown, CT, called Country Kitchen. She enjoyed gardening, singing, crosswords, and traveling, but mainly spoiling her grandkids. She also was a member of the Hyde Park Ladies Auxiliary 7779 VFW. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and sisters Hazel, and Mildred. She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Dennis. Decina left behind a loving and devoted family, three children: Ken (Ruth) Chase of Hyde Park, VT; Wayne (Liz) Chase of Morrisville, VT; Linda (Scott) Hore of Brigham City, UT; three stepdaughters: Barbara (Bill) Redmond of Medicine Park, OK; Debbie Brown of Waterbury Center, VT; Connie Manning of Morrisville, VT. You may email condolences to the family at www.gilliespetersen.com HAROLD L. MADSEN Harold Lee Madsen passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Salt Lake City, Utah, from causes incident to age. Hal was born July 27, 1913, in Brigham City, Utah, to Victor E. Madsen and Cleofa Forsgren Madsen. He was raised in Brigham City in the Third Ward. He graduated from Box Elder High School and was pleased to attend his 73rd class reunion last year. He graduated from the University of Utah and returned to Brigham City to teach art at the high school there. He married LouVell Roberts on September 5, 1942, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were the parents of two sons, John David Madsen (Peggy) of Brigham City, and Dr. Bard Roberts Madsen (Adele) of Salt Lake City. Hal served in World War II in the Air Force receiving special training at Yale University. After his honorable discharge, he and LouVell moved to California to pursue his career in apparel design. They lived most of their lives in the San Francisco Bay Area in San Lorenzo and Martinez. After his work in the apparel industry, Hal joined the faculty of Diablo Valley College teaching apparel design and history of design. He left a legacy of creativity and appreciation for his craft among his students via fashion shows, and trips to fashion centers in the U.S. and abroad. Among his avocations were painting landscape watercolors, gourmet cooking, gardening and landscaping, furniture building, stained glass work, attending the symphony and the opera as well as traveling at home and abroad. Hal had a special talent in playing the piano which he enjoyed and shared with others most of his life. He is survived by his sons and their wives and grandchildren: Greg Madsen, Brigham City; Nate (Amy) Madsen, Chicago, Illinois; Joanna Siddoway (Lex) Bellevue, Washington; Josh (Jessy) Madsen, Boulder, Colorado; Kasey Later (Steve) Provo, Utah; Scott Madsen, Salt Lake City, Utah; Jane Madsen and Annie Madsen, Provo, Utah. He was born January 15, 1917, in Ogden, Utah. Dad lived his entire life in Park Valley. He loved Park Valley, his family and his ranch. Dad married Mom, Norine Kunzler, on June 1, 1948, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mom passed away July 4, 1991. Dad loved baseball and basketball. He also loved to watch his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participate in various sports. Dad held numerous positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in those positions. He is survived by seven children: Fae (Ron) Higgins, Uintah, Utah; Mary (Howard) Field, Fruit Heights, Utah; Bonnie (Gilbert) Kap, Hooper, Utah; Jay (Holly) Carter, Park Valley, Utah; Curtis (Denise) Carter, Kaysville, Utah; Dale (Ralene) Carter, Park Valley, Utah; Karen (Marty) Mangum, Jerome, Idaho; 26 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one sister, Miriam (Ralph) Hill, LaGrande, Oregon. She was born August 21, 1919, at Dubois, Idaho, to Ira Michael Schow and Mary Elizabeth Bickmore Schow. The family moved to Brigham City, Utah, where she grew up and attended schools and graduated from high school. She then graduated from the McKay-Dee Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Ogden. She married Henry Blower April 24, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 23, 1996. They made their home in Salt Lake City and California before coming to Idaho Falls eight years ago. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Cooley Memorial Hospital in Brigham City, Utah, until 1976, then at Hill Haven Nursing Home in Salt Lake City. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Relief Society and as a Primary Teacher. She enjoyed painting with oils, reading, cooking (especially new recipes), arts and crafts, making dolls, tennis, and swimming. Surviving are her husband, Henry Blower, Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Dorothy Ellen Howard, Brigham City, UT; Barbara Ann [Joseph] Yates, Pocatello, ID; son, Earl [Chris] Blower, Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, Dan Schow, California; Reed Schow, California; sisters, Edna Jones, Bountiful, UT; Norma Hunt, California; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. HENRY BLOWER Henry Blower, 85, of Idaho Falls, died April 14, 2004, at the Idaho Falls Care Center while under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. He was born September 3, 1918, at Sewickley (Scothaven), Pennsylvania to Earl Blower and Margaret Caroline Averill Blower. He grew up and attended schools in Pennsylvania and Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class during World War II. On April 24, 1945, he married Ida Schow in Salt Lake City, Utah. They made their home in Brigham City and Salt Lake City before coming to Idaho Falls eight years ago. On August 23, 1996, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. His wife passed away on April 6, 2004. He worked at many jobs including barber, postal worker, and telegrapher. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed traveling, long walks, humorous stories and writing poetry with his wife, Ida. Henry was an avid fan of college football (especially BYU) and golf. Surviving are: daughters, Dorothy Ellen Howard, Brigham City, UT; Barbara Ann (Joseph) Yates, Pocatello, ID; son, Earl (Chris) Blower, Idaho Falls, ID; brothers: William Jasper (Sue) Blower, Bicknell, IN; Robert Craig (Jean) Blower, Ft. Meyers, FL; David Edward (Judy) Blower, Harrisville, MI; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Earl Blower and Thomas Richard Blower; and one sister, Dorothy Ellen Blower. Funeral services were Saturday, April 17, at the Brigham City Twenty-First Ward, with Bishop Fred Burr, officiating. BARBARA ANN LAZZARINI 3/5/1959 4/18/2004 Barbara Ann Lazzarini, passed away on Sunday, with her husband Steve and her best friend Nancy Carlson by her side. She is survived by her parents, Richard and Utako Tuller, brother, Donald Tuller, sister, Debra Graffuis, father and mother-in-law, Steve and Marilyn Lazzarini, brother-in-law, Jon Lazzarini and caring children, Dakota, Dallas, Darby and Daytona (the Labradors, affectionately know as the "Labbarinis"), nine spirited Arabian horses, and six adventurous cats, including the famous Harley. Barbara lived at her ranch in Indio, CA with Steve, where she managed the breeding and care of her purebred Arabian horses. She was a talented and dedicated equestrian, winning honors across the United States and Canada. Her prized Arabian mare, Rumina Afire, is the only Arabian horse to win the "Grand Slam", which consists of the four most coveted prizes in the Arabian horse world. Barbara's insight and intuition into exceptional breeding choices are sure to improve the breed that she loved so much. As well as the horses, her four Labrador Retrievers were great loves in her life. "They are our kids", Barbara and Steve would say. "The girls go everywhere with us." Barbara was born in Japan and moved to California at the age of three months. Barbara and Steve were married in 1988. Barbara will be buried on Saturday, April 24, in Utah, beside her best friend and sister-in-law, Kris. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT. He was born on November 23, 1936, in Pocatello, Idaho, son of Donald Sr. and Wilma Zinck Worthen. Don graduated from Box Elder High School in 1956. Don married Shirley Jones on March 6, 1959. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Dad and Mom remained close friends with many graduates and enjoyed a monthly dinner club for over 35 years. Mom preceded Dad in death on December 18, 1989. Dad was a member of the Brigham City River Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in various positions. He started work at Thiokol in 1958 and retired in 1992. His favorite past time was fly-fishing, fly-fishing and fly-fishing. Dad took many trips to Alaska with his buddies. He enjoyed tying flies for himself and his buddies. He loved to camp with his family and enjoyed Idaho for the fishing and many hunting trips with his friends at the "hidden cabin". Dad and his friends spent many hours at the cabin making improvements and having a good time. Dad and Mom's legacy are their children and grandchildren, Wendy (Todd) Johnsen, Brigham City; Rodger (Connie) Worthen, Syracuse; Elder Cameron Johnsen serving an LDS mission in Detroit; Kai Johnsen, Chelsea Johnsen, Tylan Worthen, Branson Worthen, and Jaxon Donald Worthen. All the grandchildren learned the love of fishing from their PAPA and Chelsea being the only granddaughter was "the apple of his eye." He was born June 8, 1922, in Brigham City, Utah, son of Tracy and Cleopha Jeppsen Larsen. He married Doris Fleming, she preceded him in death; married Joy Brunson, later divorced; married LaVern Curtis October 26, 1974. He was educated in the Brigham City schools, graduating in 1940. He spent most of his life in banking and retired in 1984. Purchased his family's farm west of Brigham City where they raised horses and cattle. He is survived by his wife, LaVern; son, David (Debbie) Colorado; daughters, Cindy (Jon) Harrington, Odessa, TX; Valerie (Guy) Andrews, Midland, TX; stepdaughter, Beverly (Ty) Larsen; stepson, Dennis Curtis; eight grandchildren; sister, Beth Burrup. Preceding him in death were a stepson, Steven Curtis; stepdaughter, Lisa Curtis Wright; granddaughter, Deia Dannille Griggs; sister, Donna Newton. Reid was born on October 15, 1925, in Ogden, Utah, to George Henry Davis and Ruby Luella Davis Davis. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. CLARK BRIGHAM CITY - Mildred Lilly Lower Clark, 90, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Country Lane Care Center in Brigham City, Utah. Mildred was born on March 15, 1914, in Smithfield, Utah, to Eliza and Edward Lower. She was raised in Trenton, Utah, and attended school in Cache County. Mildred married Gene L. Clark on May 24, 1946, in Brigham City. She worked at the Ogden Defense Depot during the war and at JC Penny's in Brigham City for many years. Mildred loved flowers, trees, and growing vegetables in her garden. She is survived by her son Ralph (DeeAnn) Clark; two grandchildren, Michael Clark, Emily (Dean) Nelson; one great grandchild Alexandria Nelson; sister, June Richardson, all of Brigham City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene L. Clark, daughter, Zuma Jensen; three grandchildren: Sheila Clark Crisp, David Clark, Gary Clark and a brother. EUNICE ROSKELLEY CARN OGDEN Eunice Roskelley Carn, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 14, 2004. She was born June 21, 1911, in Brigham City, Utah, to Charles Ora and Ella Frances Smith Roskelley. She graduated from Box Elder High School, completed nurses training at the Dee Memorial Hospital, attended Western Reserve, University of Utah and Brigham Young University. In 1969, she received a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Weber State College, retiring in 1975 from Weber County Schools. On June 30, 1938, she married Reginald Albert Carn in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away in 1990. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had many responsibilities throughout her life including serving many years at the Ogden LDS Temple. Eunice will always be remembered for her love of nature and her beautiful flower gardens. She was the happiest though when she was serving others in her quiet, unpretentious way. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was born on March 20, 1918, in Belgrade, Maine, a daughter of Fraser Calvin and Frances Alta Fowler Hawkins. She married Lawrence Donald Robinson and they were later divorced. She married Marshall William Brown on March 11, 1945, in Monmouth, Maine. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1979. Laura was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church). She held various positions in the Relief Society throughout her life. Surviving are two daughters, Judith Elaine Perry (Russell), Taylorsville, UT; Christie Sheffield (Dennis), Brigham City, UT; she raised one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Rader Allen; seven other grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters: Raymond Hawkins, David Hawkins, Elaine Spencer, Joan Esman and Patricia Morrissette. Two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Hawkins and Lucille Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Eulalia Rader; one grandson, Paul V. Sheffield, one granddaughter, Lisa Perry Carpenter; two brothers, Norman and Wilbur Hawkins and one sister, Dorothy B. Jewell Bendler. Nielsen passed away April 15, 2004, at his home in Phoenix, AZ. Wally was born in Tremonton, UT on May 20, 1932, to E.A. and Louise Nielsen, and was the oldest of five children. He graduated from Utah State University in 1954 and immediately joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for 26 years. He was a fighter pilot for most of his career, which included tours in Vietnam and other foreign assignments. He is survived by his wife Faye, his son, Michael, daughter-in-law Sandy and granddaughter Allison of Scottsdale, AZ; two sisters, Sandra Larsen of Perry, UT and Anna Anderson of Deweyville, UT. Services were held on April 22 at the National Cemetery in Phoenix. 7
