Excerpts from her personal writing seem to be most appropriate for her own obituary. She penned, "I enjoy simple things. A single rose, good music, a child's sweet face. . . I cry when I look at little children, hear the national anthem, see my sons stand on a ball field with hand over heart while they raise a flag or anthem. When they stand in uniform with head bowed while prayer is offered. I cry at good news. . . babies born or when told that we have a new grandchild on the way. Family is everything to me and my greatest desire is for them to love each other as I love them. . . Life is beautiful, but most of all, I think it's fun." Mom knew of God's promises and trusted in them, "having seen them afar off, and (was) persuaded of them, and embraced them". Hebrews 11:13. "Adversity is my friend," she wrote. It was her ever-present companion towards the end of her life. It seems, finally, that she has traded Adversity for more kindly and familiar loved ones. Godspeed Mom.
