He was born on August 4, 1929, in Rupert, Idaho, to Veda Nichols and Alvin Olenslager. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he and his wife, Ivalue, served a 10 year mission at the LDS Bishop's Storehouse. He was a Shop Foreman for 35 years for NDOT. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ivalue; son, Brent (Linda) Olenslager; daughter, Sally Koebke, all of Las, Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Elwood (Fern) Olenslager of Rupert, Idaho and Les (Barbara) Olenslager of Las Vegas, his step-mother, Alice Olenslager of Hawthorn, Nevada and two half sisters, Ranae Olenslager and Sherry (Sam) Clark of Grant Pass, Oregon. Rita Ann Hansen BEAR RIVER CITY - Rita Ann Hammond Hansen, 71, passed away at the Brigham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brigham City on March 7, 2005. She was born on August 12, 1933, to Grant Levi and O'Reta Otterbeck Hammond. Rita met her sweetheart, Collin L. "Bud" Hansen, at a New Year's dance in Hyrum. They were married on May 28, 1955, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 12, 1963. Rita was reared and educated in Providence and graduated from South Cache High School. She enjoyed all sports especially softball. She was an avid supporter of the Utah Jazz and the Denver Broncos. She was a meticulous homemaker and enjoyed watching her grandson, A.J., play baseball. Her family meant the world to her. She was a member of the Bear River First Ward. Surviving are her husband; one son, Alan L. Hansen of Bear River City; one grandson, Alan "A.J." L. Hansen, Jr. of Bear River City; one sister, Colleen Hicken of Ogden and one sister-in-law, Linda Johnston of Clearfield. Rita is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Reed Grant Hammond. On-line condolences may be expressed at www.rogersandtaylor.com. Cleo Udy Forsberg RIVERSIDE, UTAH - Cleo (Pete) Udy Forsberg, 92, was reunited with her sweetheart on March 2, 2005. She was born August 23, 1912, the third of eleven children born to Edmund Udy and Mary Buxton Udy. She attended Riverside Elementary and Bear River High School. She married Joseph E. Forsberg on August 27, 1930, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the time of Joe's death in 1992, the couple had been married for over 62 years. Mom was a hard worker and was known as a woman of strong character. She worked at Bowcutt Floral and Gus's Grocery and also helped with the family farm. She enjoyed cooking and baking and no one left her home without a bite to eat. Grandma Pete will leave lasting memories of cinnamon rolls and homemade bread. She loved handiwork, particularly quilting, and generously shared her talents with family and friends. The greatest disappointment of her life was losing her eyesight. She was an active member of the Belmont Second Ward and served faithfully in various callings. Mom enjoyed sporting events. She loved watching Jack and Melinda train horses in the arena behind her home and also attended the competitions. She particularly enjoyed watching her brothers, grandsons and nephews race cutter teams. She and Dad enjoyed fishing together. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters, her daughter (Erlyn Pitkin), a stillborn son and great grandson (Brayden Scoffield). Grandma Pete leaves behind many who loved her dearly: brothers, Ray V. (Louise) Udy of Riverside and Oleen Udy of Ogden; daughters, Connie (Dean) Andersen of Garland and Marlene (Gayle) Christensen of Tremonton; son, Jack E. (Melinda) Forsberg of Riverside and son-in-law Darrell Pitkin of Riverside. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. We celebrated her life Monday, March 7, at the Belmont First/Second Ward Chapel. Interment in the Riverside Cemetery. Bunderson CORINNE - Lloyd Roe Bunderson, 79, passed away peacefully March 4, 2005, at his home from causes due to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born on November 20, 1925, in Stone, Idaho, a son of William Rudolph and Lucy Irene Roe Bunderson. He married Lilian Christiansen on June 16, 1953, for time and eternity in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Bear River High School. He served in both the U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman. He attended college at Utah State. He served two LDS missions (one with his wife) in Norway. He worked 31 years for Thiokol as a Chemical Technician. He was a member of the Corinne Second Ward where he was a High Priest. He served in various positions, some of which were as a Home Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Stake Missionary, Ward Sunday School President, as a Stake Sunday School President (twice), and a Ogden LDS Temple worker. Lloyd had a great love for the Sunday School program, family history, and for his family. He enjoyed working in the garden and in his wood working shop. Surviving are his wife, Lilian; children: Oleen (Jalene) Bunderson, West Haven; Kenneth (DiAnn) Bunderson, Tremonton; Dan (Pam Marie) Bunderson, Temecula, California; Julie (David) Kay, Roy; Shaila (Max) Tavioan, Malad, Idaho; Wendell (Penny) Bunderson, Perry; Eric (Monica) Bunderson, Corinne; 24 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Nona Knighton, Salt Lake City; Delphia (Oris) Rudd, Ontario, Oregon; Cleo (Shirley) Bunderson, Tremonton; and Harold (Mary Kay) Bunderson, Meridian, Idaho. Don was born on June 7, 1928, in Bear River City, a son of Ernest N. and Ivy Mathias Anderson. He married Marion Lucille Neff December 16, 1951, in Evanston, WY. They were married for 53 great years. He was born and raised in Bear River City on the Family Farm. He attended elementary school in Bear River City and graduated from Box Elder High School. He was an Army veteran serving in Japan for two years during WWII. Dad played the banjo, piano, organ, and trumpet. He loved playing baseball, bowling, enjoyed duck and pheasant hunting, yard work, and spending time at Duke and Lyle's shop. He worked at DDO and HAFB in Missile Systems taking medical retirement after 32 years of military and civilian service. He had a private pilots license and enjoyed providing R&R flights for patients of Bushnell Military Hospital. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a lifetime member of F.O.E. and he was a member of the American Legion. Dad is survived by his devoted wife Marion, and his children: Dennis (Barbara) Kendall, Eagle River, AK; Geraldine (Reed) Halling, Salt Lake City; Dean (Lori) Anderson, Plain City; Donnell (Mike) Nelson, Brigham City; JoEllen (Val) Gunther, Brigham City; Ernest (Connie) Anderson, Brigham City; Clayton (Sheri) Anderson, Plain City; 39 grandchildren (four serving LDS missions); 51 great grandchildren, and two on the way; two brothers, E. Ardell "Jiggs" (Jean) Anderson, Centerville, and Robert N. Wright 1940 - 2005 Bruce J. Wright passed away suddenly Thursday, March 3, in Sandy, UT. He was born August 26, 1940, to Eugene and Lila Wright in Salt Lake City, Utah, the youngest of three brothers. He grew up in Corinne, Utah, and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1958, and was a member of the state championship football team. He served a successful mission for his church in Helsinki, Finland in 1960. He returned there in 1964 to marry Maria Andrejev, his life's companion and best friend. They moved to Salt Lake City where he finished his BA and MBA at the University of Utah in 1967. After working in executive positions with various companies, he truly found his vocation when he started public speaking and consulting for his own company, B. Wright and Associates. Lecturing and training, he formed many close working relationships and was known on every continent. Culling awards too numerous to mention, Bruce loved calling the world 'his back yard.' Home was still where he found the most joy, among his family and few close friends. Along with his wife, he dedicated his time to his children and grandchildren as the beloved head of the family. He loved and collected music from around the world, and enjoyed Broadway plays and musicals. He loved sharing his experience with his family. When he wasn't busy being the life of the party, he set the stage so those around him could feel special. Always ready to lend a hand or a dollar Bruce embodied generosity. During his life he held many church callings and enjoyed devoting his time to other people. He is survived by his wife Maria; sons, Mark (Stephanie) and Michael (Shannon); grandchildren: Alexander, James, Andrew, Jonathan, Katherine and Benjamin; brother, David (Sherrill) and his nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Eugene (Ann) and infant sister Lela Ann. Funeral services were held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary on March 7. Rosemary Wintle HONEYVILLE Rosemary Wintle, 53, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Ogden Regional Medical Center. She was born September 13, 1951, in Brigham City, a daughter of DeVere W. and Kathleen Layton Wintle. She attended Dixie and Weber State colleges. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rosemary worked as a cook in the restaurant business for many years. She once traveled to Europe with her twin sister on a stage production tour. Rosemary always tried to help others in their time of need. Surviving are her mother, Kathleen; one brother, William D. Wintle, and her twin sister, Rosemarie Wintle. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist's Crematory. A memorial service will take place at the Honeyville Cemetery at a later date. He was born September 8, 1925, in Richfield, Utah, the son of LeRoy and Martha Isabell Bradshaw Watters. Keith married LaDonna Lund on July 2, 1947, in Paragonah, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on December 9, 1949, in the St. George Temple. Keith was employed as an electrician at Thiokol for 27 years and retired in 1988. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was an avid RV'er, and loved his trips to Death Valley and Arizona. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed many callings in the church including being a member of two bishoprics. Surviving are his daughter, Ladell (Boyd) Jensen, Brigham City; two sons, Kerry (Linda) Watters, St. George; Randall (Chris) Watters, Brigham City; daughter in-law, Diane Watters, Brigham City; four brothers; Fay, Miles, Carlos, and Robert Watters. Five sisters; Lillie MacKay, Elaine Vanzile, JoAnn Jones, Mary Taylor, Martha Davis. Keith has 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna, on May 27, 2000; his son Steven Keith on February 15, 2005; two brothers, George Howard and Deloy Watters; one sister, Della Vee Watters. Scothern BRIGHAM CITY - Thayne Jay Scothern, 42, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the Brigham City Hospital. Thayne was born on March 15, 1962, a son of Doyle and Ada Lynne Scothern. He married Ardrienne VanDrimmelen in April of 1983, they were later divorced. He married Teri Ann Garrett on June 6, 1987, in Brigham City. Thayne was a truck driver for Fife Rock products. Thayne was a member of the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed fishing, painting, riding motorcycles, camping and spending time with family. He loved people and was always there for everyone. Surviving are his wife, Teri Scothern, Brigham City; children: Kim R. Reed Nielsen 1919 - 2005 LAYTON, UT - Reed was born in the family home in St. Anthony, Idaho, on November 9, 1919. He was the son of Mary Elizabeth Jackson Nielsen and Sidney N. Nielsen. He was the sixth child of nine children, and lived with his family in St. Anthony until he was married. Reed graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1938. Reed passed away peacefully at age 85 in the Apple Village Assisted Living Center in Layton, Utah, on Saturday, March 5, 2005. On June 7, 1939, Reed married his high school sweetheart, Anne Housley, in the Salt Lake City Temple. To this union, three sons were born, Steven Gayne who lived only two days, Jeffery Scott, and Rick Jon. Reed learned the carpentry trade from his father and worked in the building trade all of his life. He built many beautiful homes, schools, hospitals, and church buildings. Restoring the Lion House in downtown Salt Lake City, and the restoration of the Logan Temple were two of the projects he remembers well. However, directing the construction of the Washington, D.C. Temple was the pinnacle of his building career. He also assisted in the finish work on the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple. Reed served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and he was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in several positions, including 10 years as First Counselor, in the St. Anthony Third Ward and two years in the High council in the Brigham City South Stake. His lifelong sweetheart and companion, Anne, preceded Reed in death. He is survived by his two sons Scott Nielsen and Rick Nielsen; five grandsons, two granddaughters and two great granddaughters; his brother Lyle Nielsen and two sisters Elva Bagley and Gerri Mortensen. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at the St. George City Cemetery on March 19 in St. George, Utah. Ewer BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving mother, grandmother passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center from natural causes. She was born on January 28, 1917, in Henrieville, Utah, a daughter of William and Mary Alemeda Willis Goulding. She graduated from South Sevier High School. Gretha married Charles Henry Ewer on September 26, 1946, in Mantua, Utah. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1977. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gretha worked as a repo clerk and retired from Thiokol in 1982. Gretha loved to crochet afghans for her grandchildren and they loved them dearly. She also liked to read, do genealogy and dance. Surviving are three daughters: Patricia (Noel) Lance of California; Charlotte (Don) Hayes, Virginia; Clara (Alma) Hemmert, Richmond, Utah; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters: Melda Davis, Elva Sheppard and Mae Twitchell. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Lige and Melvin K. Goulding, two sisters, Amplus Sargent and Beth Gledhill. Bingham ROY - Avon Tubbs Bingham, returned to her Father in Heaven and her beloved husband on Saturday, March 19, 2005. Avon was born October 3, 1922, in Ogden, the daughter of Thurman H. and Johanna "Annie" VanDyke Tubbs. She married the love of her life, David L. Bingham, on October 21, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away July 24, 1988. Avon was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in the Primary, Junior Sunday School and Relief Society. She also sang in various church choirs. Surviving are two daughters and one son: Coleen Combe, Twin Falls, ID; Marlene Kennedy, Roy; David (Shonna) Bingham, Elwood, UT; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Roy (Marilyn) Tubbs and Richard (Ireta) Tubbs, both of Bloomington, UT; Ron (Lynn) Tubbs, Clinton; and two sisters-in-law, Leah Tubbs, Roy; Doris Tubbs, Slaterville. Wagstaff PERRY - Maud May Thomson Wagstaff, 93, died Monday, March 21, 2005, in Brigham City. May was born January 28, 1912, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Benjamin John and Charlotte Augusta Thomas. She married Arthur E. Wagstaff on November 28, 1934, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died February 2, 1996. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in many ward callings throughout her life, with special love for the Primary and great admiration for the relief society. She and her husband worked as officiators at the Ogden Temple and they served a mission in Tulsa, OK, 1978 to 1980. Send condolences to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com James Neil Thompson BRIGHAM CITY - James Neil Thompson, 74, of Brigham City, died on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at his residence in Brigham after a valiant struggle with cancer. He was born on February 8, 1931, in Garland, Utah, the son of Leland J. and Mary Wise Thompson. He married Joyce Arlene Nelson on September 8, 1950, in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on November 14, 1981. They had a wonderful 54 years together. Neil served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in various places during the Korean War. He retired from Thiokol after 33 years. Dad was a master carpenter & crafted many gifts for his children and grandchildren that they will treasure forever. He loved to work in his garage and was always tinkering with some project. Dad had a rough growl but was a Soft Teddy Bear at Heart. He loved to go hunting with his children and grandchildren and always looked forward to the hunting season. His desire was to get better but it just wasn't meant to be, he was needed by his Heavenly Father and is reunited with his father, mother, and brother, Reed. He leaves behind his wife of Brigham City; three sons and two daughters: Randy (Jolee) and Rick all of Brigham City, Ron (Kathy) and Julie Ann (Norman) Higgs all of Ogden, and Susan Thompson of Honeyville; one sister, Alice (Wayne) Weidman of Tremonton; one brother, Gordon Thompson of Malad, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was born on May 20, 1938, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of Dale J. and Effie Koch Stoops. Larry married his sweetheart, Betty Mayert, on December 18, 1981, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Larry was the superintendent of Safeway Bread Plant for 25 years. He loved fishing, doing yard work and spending time with all his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Betty of Brigham City; two sons and one daughter: Terry Stoops of Arizona, Ken Stoops of Tennessee, Cindy McNeece of Ogden, Utah; two step sons and one step daughter: Terry Mather and Craig Mather both of Renina, Sask., Canada; Lori Dawn of Richard, Sask,. She was 87. Mary was born April 22, 1917, in Brigham City, Utah, to David C. Petersen and Chloe Nelson. She married Harold Wilford Reeder in the Salt Lake Temple October 3, 1946. They have five children: Shirley (Larry) Paulson, Kathryn (Val) Paulsen, Ford (Dianne) Reeder, Cordell (Ruth) Reeder, Boyd Reeder; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Wright (Donald) Litchfield. Mary was a leader among women, graduating in 1940 from the UC San Francisco, being the first woman dentist to pass the Utah State Boards. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mary was a member of many community organizations among them were WLC, DUP, Civic Club, president of the PTA and AAUW. Funeral services were held Monday at the Brigham City Eighteenth Ward under the direction of Gillies Funeral Chapel. Interment in the Brigham City Cemetery. Sergeant Rocky Dennis Payne HOWELL - Sergeant Rocky Dennis Payne, 26, was killed while serving his country in Iraq on March 16, 2005. He was born on May 19, 1978, in Brigham City, Utah, to Dennis William and Percilla Marie Abbott Payne. Rocky was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Howell Ward. He served a stake mission, was a seminary graduate, an Eagle Scout and received his GED. He excelled in playing the piano and played by ear. He was mechanical, especially in auto mechanics and electronics. Rocky loved animals and was drawn to children of all ages. He is known for being a practical joker. Rocky served in the Marine Corps for four and a half years. While in the Marines he served humanitarian missions in Africa, Yemen, Australia, Philippines and was involved in the initial assault on Baghdad. Rocky was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp and then he re-enlisted in the Army and was sent to Iraq in June of 2004. At the time of his death, he was serving with the 497th Transportation Company out of Ft. Lewis, WA supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad, Iraq. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal. Survivors are his parents; four brothers: Randall William (Cindy) of Tremonton, Utah, Rory D. (Lisa) of Sandy, Utah, Ricky Gene (Janalee) and Russell Warren (Marcy) both of Clinton, Utah; one grandmother, Percilla Abbott of Malad; and he was the favorite uncle of four nieces and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Lawrence and Verda Louise Whitaker Payne and Jacob Clifford Abbott. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, at the Garland Tabernacle located at 140 West Factory Street, Garland, at 11 a.m. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening, March 24, starting at 6 p.m. and also on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle. While Rocky was eligible to be buried in the Arlington National Cemetery his family's wish was to bring him home to be buried in Howell with full military honors provided by the Utah Army National Guard. Hamilton PRESTON - William John Hamilton, 60, of Preston, our loving husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend died Friday, March 18, 2005, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. John was born July 6, 1944, the youngest child of William Jack and Therma Matilda Hadfield Hamilton in Perry, Utah. He was raised in Brigham City with his older twin sisters LeAnn and JoAnn. He attended Box Elder High School, where he played the sousaphone in the marching band. In 1962, John married Alice McNealy, they had one son, and were later divorced. In 1964, John married Sheila Sperle. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in 1970. In 1991 they parted as loving parents to their five children. In April 1992, John's favorite niece, Chrissy, introduced him to Karen Nash McKay. He often said he knew he found the love of his life on their first date. They were married December 31, 1992, adding two more children to their family. John joined the Navy as a teenager, and he served as an Oceanographic Technician with top secret clearance until 1976 when he crossed over to Chief Master of Arms in Charge of Base Security on Midway Island. He retired in 1980 at Keyport, Washington. He also worked as a reserve Police Officer and Security Officer while serving in the Navy. After retiring he worked for Pan Am for a short time in Security and volunteered with the Red Cross. This led to a position with the Red Cross as Safety Director in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and then to Executive Director of the Northern Utah Chapter in Ogden, Utah. John was responsible for the Chapter relocation to the Harrison Boulevard site. After leaving the Red Cross, John moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon, to work as the Executive Director for Cascade East Area Health Education Center. He moved to Preston, Idaho, and started his own Home Inspection Business. He also was the Executive Director of the Preston Chamber of Commerce. He worked as the Executive Director of the Iron County Care and Share in Cedar City, Utah. He was working as the Neighborhood Improvement Coordinator for Logan City at the time of his death. John was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Preston Eleventh Ward. John served in many positions over the years but received his greatest joy as the Gospel Doctrine Teacher. John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a love of cooking and enjoyed barbecuing. He was happiest sitting next to Karen and watching the Utah State University Aggies play football, basketball, and all other USU athletic events either live or on TV. He was also a professional remote controller. John is survived by his wife Karen; children: Daniel M. (Konni) Hamilton, South Weber, UT; Corky D. (Nathan) Kawamura, Ogden, UT; William J. Hamilton Jr., Portland, OR; Telsie A (Brandon) Nay, Brigham City, UT; Theodore Jack Hamilton, Portland, OR; Tae Marie Hamilton, Ogden, UT; Todd (Jennifer) McKay, Dillon, MT; Tiffany (Erik) Williams, Twin Falls, ID; 19 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; his sisters and many additional family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren Tiffany Aki Kawamura, Davin Jaden Hamilton and Nathan Michael Kawamura. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, at 1 p.m. in the Preston Idaho South Stake Center, 55 East First South, in Preston. Sessions OGDEN - Elzo Weston Sessions, age 95, passed away early Easter morning, March 27, 2005, in Brigham City, Utah. He was born January 17, 1910, in Milo, Idaho, a son of Roy Sessions and Chloe Welker Sessions. He married Doris Annie Evans, October 17, 1927. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. She passed away July 17, 1976. He is survived by their three children: Burdeen (Claire) Bailey, Brigham City, UT; Ray (Gayla) Sessions, Boulder, Colorado; and DeVon (Connie) Sessions, Tremonton, Utah. He has ten grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Verba Colby, and two brothers, Chester (Naomi) Sessions, Ronald (Linda) Sessions, and a sister-in-law. Afton Koford, and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents, three brothers and two sisters. He married Berniece G. Erickson June 7, 1977. She survives him as do her three children: Bruce (Beverly) Erickson, Boyce (Pat) Erickson, and Nadine (Richard) Tribe, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his early years Dad worked farming. He worked as a carpenter and later worked at DDO in Ogden, Utah. He loved to build things for his family and friends and enjoyed working in his yard. His greatest joy was being with his family. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, visiting his friends, and being of services to others. He loved to sing and remembered the old songs from his youth. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life. He served in Priesthood Leadership, Scouting, and was a Temple Worker at the Ogden Temple. Dad had a great sense of humor and everyone that knew him, loved him. She was born October 4, 1933, in Garland, Utah, the eldest daughter of John D. and Nora Gunderson. Mary graduated from Box Elder High School in 1951 and attended LDS Business College. She married Jerald M. Parsons on October 18, 1951, at St. Benedicts Hospital. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mary is survived by her husband Jerald, and their six children: J. Michael (Karen Wixom), Brigham City; James Lynn (Jacquie) Lacey, Washington; Janeen (Craig Bywater), Brigham City; Paula (Scott Chambers) Yelm, Washington; Jari (Tim Francis), Brigham City; and John David (Patrice) Portland, Oregon; four siblings: Karen Crawford, Tempe, Arizona; Dixie (Paul) Allen, Bountiful, Utah; John Gunderson (Carol Ann), Brigham City; Steven (Marge) Gunderson, Grand Junction, Colorado; 21 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, J.D. Parsons. After starting her family Mary worked for the Internal Revenue Service, Fram Corporation, Bunderson Elementary School and retired after 20 years from First Security Bank. Additionally, Mary and Jerald built several small successful businesses including Parsons Pilot Car Escort Service and The DoNut Shoppe. Mary was an active member of the community and her church. She was a charter member of Women in Business and a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1957. Mary was honored by Women in Business in 1989-90 as the Woman of the Year. She was a board member of the Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the PTA. Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many responsible positions including ward organist, primary and young women's teacher and service in both Primary and Relief Society presidencies. Mary especially enjoyed working with her hands, including sewing, crocheting, quilting, and knitting and passed on her talents to her children. She was an avid reader, often starting and completing a novel in one sitting. Mary treasured her new found hobby of scrapping, which she was able to do with her daughters and grand-daughters. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and relished each minute spent with them. They will all miss her. She and Jerald loved to camp as a family and had, for many years, camped each summer with her extended family at the J.D. and Nora Gunderson annual family reunion. She was very much looking forward to the upcoming reunion in July. She and her siblings recently completed the publication of a book about their family history. In the book, Mary noted the great pleasure she received from playing Pinochle on a monthly basis with a group of close and dear friends for many years. Marcene was born on October 16, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Newell Don and Claire Allen Humphreys. She married Gordon Tuck, they were later divorced. She married Amos Hatch on March 28, 1998. Brailsford BEAR RIVER CITY - Jesse Grant Brailsford, 86, passed away March 23, 2005, at the Tremonton Hospital. He was born November 22, 1918, in Bear River City, a son of Charles William and Theressa Augusta Iverson Brailsford. Jesse was raised and educated in Bear River City and Tremonton. He married Artell Miller April 8, 1944, in Seattle, King, Washington, the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple July 27, 1950. Jesse was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a high Priest in the Bear River First Ward. He spent four years in the United States Army during World Ward II. He worked for the Bear River Canal Company for 36 years. Jesse enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Artell, Bear River City; son, Grant J. Brailsford, Hawaii; daughter Mrs. Gary (Roseann) Jones, Illinois; he has six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, one grandson, Steven, and four brothers.
