She was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Rigby, Idaho, to Hannah Mae Thomas and Clarence Smith. When Deon was 6 years old, her mother passed away and she was raised by other family members until she came to live in a foster home with Vernon and LaVon Fredrickson of Avon, Utah. They raised her along with their children, and loved her as their own. Deon graduated from South Cache High School in 1956 and later met and married Jerry Dolinski on May 18, 1962, in Smithfield, Utah. She was a resident of Carbon County for 39 years, where they raised four children. She worked for JC Penney's where she met and made many friends over the years. She helped support her husband in their apartment rental business. Member of the LDS Church, where she held several callings. She loved spending time with her family, especially on holidays and birthdays. She loved reading novels, watching her John Wayne movies, crocheting, making quilts, playing cards with friends and going to Wendover. Deon was a very kind, loving, caring and giving person who touched everyone's life she met. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Dolinski of Helper; son, Randy (Tina) Dolinski of Helper; daughters, Deborah (David) Pilling of Price, Sherri Thorsen of Price and Dawna (Lou) Nickel of Baltimore, Ohio; her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in Logan; a special friend, Renate Nickel of Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many close friends she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Steven and Jean Dolinski; foster parents, Vernon and LaVon Fredrickson; cousin, Beth Pebley; friend, Veda Madrigal; son-in-law, Rocky Thorsen; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, in the Avon Cemetery, Avon.
