Tingey, 64, passed away July 26, 2005. He was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Centerville, Utah, the son of Allen D. and Maxine Cahoon Tingey. He married Barbara Rueckert, later divorced, married Leona Wierz, divorced, married Verletta Potts. He was a lifelong Centerville resident and was self-employed as a small engine mechanic, clockmaker and woodworker. Steve had a love of the outdoors. He is survived by five sons and four daughters; Jeff (Corrie) Tingey, Bill Tingey, Shane (Kristin) Tingey, Bryan (Ginger) Ashdown, Gary (Debbie) Ashdown, Marcie (Mike) Reilly, Sandy Dradge, Dannielle Burr, Shelly Bernhardt. Also survived by a brother Roland Tingey and three sisters Anna Boulton, Colleen Potts and Karen Sherwood. Pre-ceded in death by his parents, wife, Verletta; brother, Joe and sister Margaret, also a grandson, Chance Tingey and granddaughter Amanda Ashdown. Cheryl Dawn Hale Oct. 14-1960-July 31, 2005 BOUNTIFUL In truly loving memory of Cheryl Dawn Hale, age 44, our sweet daughter, mother and sister. Cheryl was born Oct. 14, 1960, in Pocatello, Idaho. She lived most of her life in Bountiful, Utah. She married Ronald Hale on September 18, 1981. She had three beautiful daughters who became her whole life. She went home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 31, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She will be remembered fondly by her daughters Candice Hale, Heather Hale and Jessica Hale; her parents Marge and Jack Johnson and father, Del (Jody) Rawlins; her sisters and brother-in-laws, Kelli and Christian Nelson; Jana and Jason Leavitt, and Megan Johnson and RB Hayes; her brother, Frosty (Amy) Johnson; her grandparents, Edith Rawlins and Ingrid Johnson; her nieces and nephews Joshua Nel-son, Jacob Nelson, Haydn Nelson, Hannah Nelson, Lyndsie Leavitt, and Austin Johnson; by her former husband, Ronald Hale; and former mother-in-law, Jeanette Hale. She was very loved by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank Johnson, William and Margaret Forrest, and Lawrence Rawlins; and father-in-law Lyle Hale. Cheryl was always smiling and bringing joy to everyone who grew to know her. She had a strong spirit and fought many battles through her life. She always thought of others and wanted the best for her sweet girls. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery. James Ray Lynch March 15, 1952-July 27, 2005 James Ray Lynch, 53, former resident of Bountiful, died July 27, 2005, at home in Florence, Ky., of cancerous brain tumors. Born March 15, 1952, in Salt Lake City, to Ray and Betty Lynch. Graduated from Viewmont High School, B.S. from Weber State College in police science/FBI, and M.S. from the University of Utah in human resource management. Married Julie Baldwin of Cottonwood/Holladay on March 19, 1976, in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of three sons, Kristopher, 25; Jason, 21; and Casey, 17. Jim and his family left Bountiful 17 years ago and have lived in New Jersey, Iowa, Texas, Ohio, and for the past eight years, Florence, Ky. Jim was an extremely gifted craftsman, particularly in woodworking. Jim held many callings in the LDS Church. He was a missionary in the Colorado-New Mexico Mission, served as Young Men president, high councilman and was released as bishop shortly before his passing. Survived by his wife and sons; sister, Cyndie (Mont) Ashworth, Salt Lake City; and parents-in-law, Dale and Carol Baldwin, St. George. Predeceased by parents. Dorothy Gwendolyn Murphy Alexander April 20, 1917-July 29, 2005 Dorothy Gwendolyn Murphy Alexander, aged 88, died peacefully at home in the loving presence of her family on July 29, 2005, of natural causes. Dorothy was born on April 20, 1917, in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of William J. Murphy and Marjorie Shultz Murphy. After growing up in Montana and Salmon, Idaho, Dorothy graduated from the University of Idaho in Moscow and taught second and third grade in the Salmon public schools. During WWII she was a driver for the Army Air Corps at Camp Kearns, Utah, where she met her husband, Robert E. Alexander, who was serving in the Army. Dorothy and Robert were married in 1943 and before the war ended were transferred to Colorado Springs, where they later raised their family of four. After her children were grown, Dorothy spent 10 years as the teacher/librarian for the Boys Clubs of Colorado Springs. After her "official" retirement she worked another 19 years, until aged 84, with her son Steve in his pottery business. Dorothy became a Christian in 1973 and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs. In her last years she attended the Japanese Church of Christ in Salt Lake City, where her daughter-in-law Rev. Patricia Alex-ander is the Interim Senior Pastor. Dorothy loved animals, reading, and people from every walk of life. She was especially fond of children. "Grammie" was the warm, loving, generous heart of her family and a joyous encouragement to her many friends. Her presence will be greatly missed. Dorothy is survived by: her sister, Jerry Hughes, of Dallas, Texas; her children, Bill (Pat) Alexander of Bountiful, Utah, Lynn (Judy) Alexander of Grand Junction, Colo., Steve Alexander of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Marjorie Alexander of Woodbridge, N.J.; grandchildren: Elizabeth Alexander, Paul (Nichole) Alexander and great-granddaughter Hayden Alexander; plus two nephews and their families. Funeral under the direction of Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary Brent Brooksby Gubler March 28, 1958-Aug. 1, 2005 Brent Brooksby Gubler died Aug. 1, 2005, in Salt Lake City. He was the youngest son of William Tell and Ella Brooksby Gubler, born March 28, 1958. He was a many talented man, especially skilled in woodwork and metal tooling. He graduated from Henegar College with a degree as a licensed and certified operating room technician. He worked for a number of years at Holy Cross Hospital and more recently at Cottonwood Hospital. He married Ruth Miller, later divorced. He is survived by the joy of his life, his daughter Elyse. Also survived by his mother; brothers Brian, Greg and Don; and sisters, Iris, Jeanne, Carol, Kathleen, Stella, Denise and Deanna; who will all miss his keen sense of humor, his gentle ways and big heart. Directors, Independent Funeral Service of Bountiful. Dora S. Ford Sept. 7, 1916-Aug. 4, 2005 SUNSET Dora Stoddard Ford, 88, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at her daughter's home in North Salt Lake. She was born Sept. 7, 1916, in West Point, the thirteenth of fourteen children of George Franklin Jr. and Cynthia Priscilla Hardy Stoddard. On March 24, 1936, Dora married Leonard G. Ford in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on March 5, 1975. She was raised and educated in West Point and attended Davis High School. She moved to Sunset where she resided for 58 years. Dora was an active, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Sunset area for many years and served in various callings. She enjoyed attending church every Sunday. Dora loved her home and enjoyed crocheting, fishing with her husband, working in the yard and gardening. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time together. Surviving are her husband Leonard, one daughter, Lenora (Jay) Brown, of North Salt Lake; three grandchildren, Laura Neal, Bountiful; Heather Neal (Christian) Thompson, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Evan Richard Neal, North Salt Lake; and one great-grandson, Nichols Yeiter, North Salt Lake. Preceding her in death were her parents and 13 brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides from Hospice, and the wonderful friends and neighbors in Sunset who have been so supportive. Beverly Williams April 18, 1920-Aug. 7, 2005 Beverly McMillan Williams, 85, passed away on Aug. 7, 2005, in Bountiful, Utah, after a long illness. She was born April 18, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clara Martin and Don Newton McMillan. She married Eugene LaMar Williams on Aug. 24, 1940, which was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Beverly was a graduate of West High School and LDS Nursing School. She was a registered nurse for 40 years, retiring as Director of Nursing at Gunnison Valley Hospital. She served as president of the Utah Nurse's Association, officer in the American Legion, held numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to the Washington D.C. Temple. She volunteered in her community as a member of the Lady Lions Club, Girl's State Nurse, Palisade Pals, and as an "I can read" volunteer at Orchard Elementary School. Her nursing skills were often offered to neighbors, friends, and relatives. She is survived by six children, Hal James (Carol), Shauna (Mas) Nakaya, Sally, Scott, Connie (Robert) Dyreng, Claudia Christian-sen, and 33 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and Leigh Engelbrecht, sister. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers: Don Jr., Bayne and George McMillan. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Heritage Place and Affinity Hospice. Gee Dec. 1, 1908-Aug. 3, 2005 Ivin Lafayette Gee died at his residence at the Inn on Barton Creek in Bountiful on Aug. 3, 2005, of causes incident to age. He was born Dec. 1, 1908, in Rexburg, Fremont, Idaho, the second son of William Erastus and Mary Ellen Kerr Gee. He attended schools in Rexburg through his freshman year of college. He received a B.S. degree in education from BYU in 1935 after attending University of Idaho Southern Branch in Pocatello, Idaho, and the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo. He married Pearl Stucki on May 25, 1932, in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. He taught school for seven-and-a-half years before joining the U.S. Weather Bureau at Missoula, Mont., in December 1938. He was stationed at Pocatello, Idaho; Cheyenne, Wyo., and Denver, Colo., before moving to Lander, Wyo., where he was meteorologist in charge for 26 years before retiring in 1974. He was interested in Scouting, having served as Scoutmaster, and on the district level as district chairman and district commissioner. He was a past president of Rotary Club in Lander. He also belonged to the Lander Ministerial Association and served for several years on the Community Concert board. For a short time he was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many leadership and teaching positions and as patriarch of the Riverton, Wyoming Stake. He and his wife Pearl served three missions for the church, one in Lander, Wyo., one at the Washington D.C. Temple and the other at the Polynesian Culture Center in Laie, Hawaii. He is survived by his wife Pearl, three sons Dr. Laurence Gee (Alice) of North Salt Lake, Dr. Martell Gee (LaRue) of Bountiful, Dr. Glendon Gee (Shirley) of Richland, Wash., and daughter Rosemary Wall (Steve) of Farmington, Utah, also 24 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren. He also has two living brothers; Dr. Lynn L. Gee of Stillwater, Okla., and Merrill K. Gee of Salt Lake City, Utah. Fred Cabaness Sept. 3, 1925-Aug. 8, 2005 BOUNTIFUL Fred Cabaness, age 79, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, in Bountiful, Utah. Born Sept. 3, 1925, in Frankfort, Ill., the son of Helen Cabaness and step-father, Bill Fenton. Joined the Navy at age 17 and served for four years in WWII. He was married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1949 to Betty Holbrook. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in Scouting. He worked at Hill Air Force Base as a machinist for 30 years. Enjoyed chariot racing with his sons and family for 30 years. He was a member of various riding clubs. Loved the great outdoors and Sunday dinners at home with his family. We love him and will miss him very much. Survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Laralee Roberts, Marci Brady, Carla (Jeff) Avis; sons, Kipp Cabaness and Trevis (Shawna) Cabaness; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Melvin George Jacobsen Oct. 22, 1924-Aug. 5, 2005 BOUNTIFUL Melvin George Jacobsen, born Oct. 22, 1924, courageously passed from his mortal existence on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005. He left behind his family whom he loved and cherished so much. He was the youngest of eight children born to Nephi Michael and Francis Beatrice Jacobsen, whom he greatly respected. He served valiantly in World War II, receiving the Silver Star Medal of Honor and five battle stars for gallantry in action. Mel loved this country and was proud to have been able to defend the freedom of his fellow Americans. He leaves behind his best friend and childhood sweetheart, Lucille Lees, whom he married on Feb. 14, 1946, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. From this union they were blessed with three children, whom he was very proud of and loved with all his heart, Mike (Kathy) of Chicago, Ill.; Patti (Ron) Stott of Logan, Utah; and Karen (Joe) Baty of Centerville, Utah. He especially loved his 10 grandchildren, Shauna, Silas, J.T., Beau, Cole (Brooke), Zac, Amber, Trevor, and Brett. He spent countless hours teaching them many things and supporting them in their activities. He worked hard all his life in his employment with Conoco and the University of Utah. Upon retirement, he worked as a crossing guard, where he looked forward to protecting the children every day. He also enjoyed coaching his children's basketball and softball teams, reading and playing golf. He had many talents and abilities which he shared with others. His life was not one of material wealth but was rich with what mattered in eternity. His life was filled with struggles, although his sweet spirit never showed it. We will miss his strength, courage and endurance. We will forever have his example and the memories that have filled our lives. Mel's family thanks those who put forth the effort to show their concern and love for him during trying times throughout his life. Judy Duerden Harris Dec. 14, 1949-Aug. 5, 2005 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister returned to her Heavenly Father after a tragic accident on Aug. 5, 2005. Born Dec. 14, 1949, to Ralph Barber and Maxine Briggs Duerden in Bountiful, Utah. She left behind a husband, Michael Garrard, a son Johnny Ralph Harris and daughters Lisa (Michael) Harris Spencer, Jessica Harris and one granddaughter Kyerra Timm, to whom she was mother of the year, every year. Motherhood was the most important calling to Judy. She spent her life in the service of others, she loved giving of herself and sharing what was given her and did it on a daily basis. She married Johnny Michael Harris in 1968, later divorced and recently married her devoted and patient husband, Michael Garrard. Judy had a great zest for life and lived it to the fullest. She spent many of her early years in service to her Heavenly Father, including Relief Society president for many years; she often said they were the happiest years of her life. She spent many years in retail business including owning her own women's clothing store, Classy Lady. Recently she was a great real estate agent. She is survived by two step-children, John and Joanna Garrard, two sisters, JoAnn Bawden, Jill Randles Goodman (Michael), one brother Jimmy Ralph Duerden, close and cherished friends Jordan Harward and David Burningham. Main, Bountiful, Utah. Larry C. Lawrence June 14, 1933-Aug. 4, 2005 BOUNTIFUL Larry C. Lawrence succumbed to lung cancer Aug. 4, 2005. His wife, Janet, was caring for him at his home in Bountiful when he departed last Thursday afternoon. He was born June 14, 1933, in Pasadena, Calif., to Genevieve Clegg and Lewis Castell Lawrence. He is survived by his wife, Janet, Bountiful; children, Mark of Salt Lake City, Steven (Karen) of Centerville, Clifford (Amy) of Irvine, Calif., daughter-in-law Sue, Jeff (Brenda) and Susan Parker (Greg) of Bountiful and Lori Jan Ellsworth (Steven) of West Jordan, 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, brother Rue L. Lawrence (Marianne) of Salt Lake City, two nephews and their families. A large, extended and loving family survives him. Son Michael and an infant grandson preceded him in death. Larry grew up in Provo and graduated from Provo High where he was a yell leader. He met Janet Hansen in 1950. They married in 1951 and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1979. All his children agree, Dad established the most personal, intimate, great relationship with us we knew amongst all others we observed. He attended the Univer-sity of Utah School of Engineering and worked as a mech-anical engineer for several firms. He enjoyed fishing with his family in the Uintas and golfing with his sons early Sunday mornings. He loved solving, to the minutest detail, any mechanical problem he ever encountered. Larry's valiant struggle against cancer lasted eight-and-a-half years with the skilled help of Dr. William Riley, Dr. Clyde Ford and their professional IHC Clinic staff. The caring services of IHC Hospice aided tremendously in Dad's comforted, compassionate dispatch. Generous neighbors, particularly Michael Stephens, lent timely support too. Hatch Aug. 1, 1918-Aug. 8, 2005 Elaine F. Hatch died August 8, 2005. Born August 1, 1918 in Bountiful, Utah, to Spencer and Edith Fearnley Hatch, and direct descendant of Governor William Bradford and Elder William Brewster of Mayflower fame. Attended Salt Lake City and Davis County public schools, graduating from Davis High School in 1935 where she was awarded an Octagon for school activities in Reporting and Drama. Elected Junior Representative of Associated Girl Students; appointed Feature Editor of the Davis Dart; Associate Official Reporter for the school; active in Glee Club, Pro Schola, Opera and Dramatics. Portraying the ingenue lead of Prudence in the school play, "Growing Pains." Attended LDS Business College where she was elected Queen of the Valentine s Day Ball; served as legal secretary to Lynn S. Richards, Esq. of the law firm of Moyle, Richard and McKay and at Special Session of Utah State Legislature (1937) which passed enabling legislation for social security and unemployment insurance. In 1938 and 1939 chosen First Attendant to the Queen of Utah Covered Wagon Days. From 1941 (during World War II) to 1950 served as personal secretary to U.S. Senator Elbert D. Thomas (D-Utah) in Washington, D.C. and as Research Analyst on U.S. Committee on Labor & Public Welfare, accompanying Senator to ILO Conference in Philadelphia; instrumental in issuance of Utah centennial stamp. During this period also attended American University and George Washington University where she portrayed Regan in "King Lear" during their Shakespearian Festival. From 1950 to 1960 served on staff of Psychological Strategy Board and Operations Coordinating Board, National Security Council in Executive Offices of the President where she initiated and promoted Government s participation in Trade Fairs and Cultural Exchanges around the world, which culminated in permanent legislation (International Cultural Exchanges and Trade Fairs Act). (P.L. 860 signed by President Eisenhower August 1, 1956). During 1960-1968 lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she attended University of Hawaii while working for Harold T. Kay, Esq., as well as the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel, the Dillingham Corporation, International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation and the Corporation Counsel's Office of the City and County of Honolulu. In 1961 aboard the S.S. Himalaya sailed from Honolulu to Yokohama thence via the periphery of Asia to London, with a month's tour of Europe, flying back to New York, Utah and Honolulu. In 1968 returned to San Francisco where she served with the U.S. General Services Administration, Credit and Finance Branch, as Financial Assistant. In 1980 after thirty years service received Loyal Service Award, and two special awards for outstanding service, retired to her apartment in Golden Gateway Center to write her memoirs, study Chinese Brush Painting, as well as illustrating and publishing her "Legend of the Easter Eggs." A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she has served as speech instructor in the Mutual Improvement Association; teacher in Junior Sunday School, Washington, D.C. Ward; attended the San Francisco Ward in San Francisco. Active in Genealogy Research; has written biographical sketch of her Grandfather Orin Perry Hatch as well as assisting with a biography of her great grandfather Orin Hatch who served with Mormon Battalion in United States Army during Mexican War (1846-47) and who participated in discovery of gold at Sutter's Fort in January 1848. Active with Commonwealth Club of California, Society of the Mayflower Descendants; Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Alpha Iota. Survivors include her brothers and sisters: Lily Lieberman, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. James (Gladys Mary) Van Camp, Diamond Bar, California; Spencer F. Hatch, Bountiful, Utah; Roy F. Hatch, Bountiful, Utah No funeral services will be held. H. Glen Vance July 23, 1917-Aug. 7, 2005 H. Glenn Vance died peacefully on August 7, 2005 after a long struggle with Alzheimers disease. Glenn was born July 23, 1917 in Ogden, Utah to Herbert G. Vance and Belva Dawson Vance. He married Norma Wadman in 1938 and together they raised their two children, Kay and Michael. Glenn graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, with a degree in Forestry. After serving the U. S. Forest Service, he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer for 37 years. Glenn loved fly-fishing, hunting, carpentry, playing the flute, and computing on his HP calculator. He shared these passions with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family members include; his daughter Kay (Dennis) Neuteboom; his son, Michael (Lucie) Vance; his grandchildren Dennis (Allison) Neuteboom, Mike (Donnette) Neuteboom, Glenn Vance, Laura Vance and Tyler (Shanell) Vance; and his six great-grandchildren. The family thanks the staffs of Silverado Senior Living. Eastridge Care Center, and Hearts for Hospice for all they did for Glenn. Norma Louise Swallow Newbould Casselbury June 24, 1923-Aug. 17, 2005 Norma Louise Swallow New-bould Casselbury passed away on Aug. 17, 2005, in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on June 24, 1923, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Alta Robinson and George Beeston Swallow. She married Ray Elmer Newbould on May 31, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ray passed away in 1983. Norma was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church positions. She married Clifford Martin Casselbury on Feb. 24, 1990, in Murray, Utah. He passed away in 2002. She is survived by her children, Dan R. Newbould (Barbara); Ronald Paul Newbould (Jean); and Cindy Davey (Bruce); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother James C. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. John (Jack) Billings Skewes June 15, 1913-Aug. 15, 2005 John (Jack) Billings Skewes, 92, died in Bountiful, Aug.15, 2005, of respiratory failure. He was a resident of Bountiful for 50 years. He was the husband of Mary Jo Armington Skewes for 49 years, until her death in 1997. Prior to that, he was the husband of Veda Poulson Skewes, until her death in 1942. He was the loving father of Jack (Dea), Duchesne; Charles (Annette), Highland; Ann (Mike Evans), Sacra-mento, Calif.; Bob (who was killed in Vietnam in 1971); Nancy (Ray Stensrud), Murray; and Bill (Anna), Bountiful, who cared for him in his home in recent years. He is survived by his brother Art, Pampa, Texas; and Elaine Peterson, Moab; as well as 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was born June 15, 1913, in Moab, Utah, to John and Lydia Taylor Skewes. He was a graduate of the University of Utah, with a BS in Civil Engineering. He worked for Utah Department of Transportation over a period of 49 years, from 1929 until his retirement in 1978. For 22 years, he was Chief Construction Engineer. During his tenure, the U.S. Interstate and Defense Highway system was authorized, constructing roads through roadless areas in rugged parts of Utah. Upon his departure, 90 percent of the Interstate system in Utah had been completed, including much of the current I-80 and I-15 roadways. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, Civil Engineering Corps (Seabees) during World War II, serving in North Africa, Italy and Guam. Active until his 90s he was an active member of the Bountiful Community Church and the Bonneville Lodge of the Scottish Rite Masons. He had been involved over the years in Boy Scouts, American Legion, Lion's Club, Senior Citizens, and the Utah Chapter of the United Nations. Also, he and his wife Mary Jo hosted numerous foreign high school and college students. He was born in SLC, Utah, on Oct. 2, 1922, to Annie May Mickelsen and Nicholas W. Miller. His education was composed of attending Granite High (1940) and furthering his studies at the University of Utah. Dad was a WWII veteran proudly serving with the Eighth Air Force in Sheffield, England. During the same time he married our mother, Beatrice Baylies (12th Army Group) in London (1945). During his later years he worked with his brother Russell at the Miller Finance Co. Dad encouraged his children to ski often taking the family up to Brighton and Alta. His other enjoyments were watching old time comedy classics (Laurel and Hardy and Marx Brothers). His interest with steam-powered trains was legendary, often taking us on Sunday rides to see big malleys pull their freight through Ogden canyon. He was especially close to our animal pets. Though the loss of our father is hard we feel he is at peace from his physical and mental pain. Survived by two sons: Lincoln B. Miller of Coos Bay, Ore.; Nicholas W. (Debra) Miller of Bountiful, three grandchildren: Nichole, Lincoln and Madeline, three nieces: Wendy, Merle-Ann and Susan. He was born Ju, in Providence, Utah, the son of Iven H. and Florence Zollinger Burton. Joseph grew up in Park Valley, Utah, on the family farm and ranch. He married Norma Frank, June 18, 1954, in the Logan Temple. He grad- uated from Utah State University with a de-gree in civil engineering and earned his professional engineer certificate. He served as project engineer for the state of Utah; his major projects included the Flaming Gorge Bridge and the Bangerter Hwy. Joseph was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Great Lakes mission. He also served in a bishopric, as Scoutmaster and as high priests group leader. He built a beautiful home in Bountiful and enjoyed working in his yard. He loved to use his talents as an engineer to invent and create useful items. He is survived by his wife, Norma; a son and two daughters, Michael J. Burton (Diane), Carole A. Ballif (Jeff), Melanie L. Born Nov. 8, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was the daughter of Bertie Fairclough and Maude Lorena Sage. She was the widow of LeGrande Marvin Hill who passed away on April 1, 2004, to whom she was sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Leah found her greatest joy in being in her home with her husband and family. She served in a stake Primary presidency. Whatever Leah did, she took pride in doing well. She was an immaculate housekeeper and seamstress. She devoted many years to genealogy work and she spent the last year of her life in doing temple work for herself, husband and other family members. Leah survived cancer for 23 years without complaint, however, was finally taken by the disease on Saturday. She was a great example to family and friends. She will be dearly missed by one and all. Leah provided a lifetime of love, dedication and support to her husband LeGrande, two daughters, Bonnie (Rick) of Farmington, Debbie (David) of Magna, and one son Gary (Bonnie) of West Bountiful; 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was raised in East Layton, Utah, and as a young girl after her mother passed away, helped raise her brothers and sisters and worked with her father in the fruit orchards. When she was first married, she helped Elmer start a business, doing the bookkeeping and driving trucks where they hauled sand and gravel. Later, after her children were raised, she worked in the school lunch program. Parlee will be remembered by her embracing personality where she could make friends anywhere and everywhere she traveled. She enjoyed spending time at the Bountiful Senior Citizen Center where she could dance, eat and socialize. She was an accomplished bowler and a wiz at cards, but her most precious activities were spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer William Reed, son, Robert William Reed, and a very special companion Joseph Porter. Robert Lewis Allen Sept. 22, 1918-Aug. 25, 2005 Robert Lewis Allen, age 86, passed away Aug. 25, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 22, 1918, in Teton, Idaho, the son of Robert and Sarah Fur-ness Allen. He married LaRee Terry June 23, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died Sept.r 15, 1989. Throughout his life he was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After serving an LDS mission he joined the Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific in WWII. He graduated from the U. of U. in electrical engineering and worked at Hill Air Force Base for more than 47 years. His kind and gentle ways were an example to all his family. Willoughby April 30, 1937-Aug. 25, 2005 Our beloved Jesse D. Willoughby, 68, of Bountiful, died Aug. 25, 2005, of a cardiac arrest, with his loving family surrounding him. He was born April 30, 1937, the son of Willie Jesse and Agnes Beatrice Willoughby. Jesse worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 22 years and the Weber Basin Job Corp until his retirement in 1997. He and his wife, Rae Woolley Willoughby, have owned and operated an advertising business, "Welcome Utah," for the past 15 years. He had many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and especially enjoyed serving with his wife as a stake missionary in Kaysville. Jesse raised three families during his lifetime and all of his children attest to his love expressed to them in many ways. Jesse had a delightful sense of humor and a positive outlook on life. He was a very loving companion.
