C., blacksmith, son of N. H. and Hannah Maria, was born in Salt Lake City, August 3, 1851. When he was 18 months old his parents removed to Spanish Fork, where father built the first house in that settlement. They then went to Mt. Pleasant, where father took part, in the Johnston campaign and the Walker and Indian wars, being a Captain. P. C. Served as a minuteman during the Black Hawk war. Was married May 11, 1872, to Mary E., daughter of Tom and Mary A. Kinney of Fillmore. He came to Ferron in October, 18S9, where he worked as a blacksmith, and in February, 1891, being elected Sheriff, removed to Castle Dale. He located the North canal in Ferron and was head watermaster some time. Is now a member of the board of directors of the Castle Dale canal and interested in a steam thresher. Is a member of the Elders' quorum and a representative man. His children are: Emma, Hettie, Elizabeth, Julia, Elsie, Charlotte, Lidia, Stenia, Edith, Peter, Erven and Pearl, living; and Charles, who died at 1lie age of 26 years.
