He grew up in his native land and served seven months in the army before coming to the United States. In '78 he came to Utah and in '80 his parents located at Manti, where they now reside. He was engaged in Sanpete for several years as a farmer and shoemaker, and was married in Mt. Pleasant October 21, 1880, to Caroline Neilsen. She died August 21, 1892, leaving three children: Agnes, Dagma and Willard. Was married again in Manti Temple June 14, 1894, to Martine Jacobsen. In the fall of '84 he came to Castle Dale and engaged in farming. Now has a good farm of 100 acres. Was elected County Treasurer in '92 and re-elected twice, being a competent, capable and trustworthy man. He is connected with several important irrigation enterprises and an actice, energetic and industrious citizen, always interested in the upbuilding of his town and county.
