He was born July 11,1912, in Nephi to Lorenzo and Sarah Elizabeth Garrett Pace. He married Clara Eva Nelson January 17, 1940, in the Manti LDS Temple. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and was proud to be a rancher and a farmer. He worked in construction in Salt Lake, Provo, and Juab County. He poured cement in the construction of Geneva Steele. He built many roads in Juab County. He was a member of the Utah Cattlemen’s Association and was a member of the LDS church. He is survived by his wife, Clara; three sons, and three daughters, Carol Ann (Roy) Spriggs of St. George; Richard W. (Mary) Pace of American Fork; Melvin A. (Jackie) Pace of Farmington; J. Kent (Maria) Pace of Kaysville; Kathryn Mitchell and Janet (Steve) Harrow, both of Salt Lake City; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and one grandchild. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 9, 1997, in the Nephi LDS 2nd Ward.
