Deceased was a native of Sanda, Gothland, Sweden; embraced the Gospel in May, 1862; emigrated to Utah in 1863, in Capt. John Young's train. He leaves a wife and a large family of children to mourn his loss. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was the first to receive the Gospel and to gather with the Saints from that region of his native country.
