Marion was born in Fillmore, Utah on April 12, 1928 to parents Alice Thomas Kesler and Otto Kesler. Marion grew up and spent most of his years working the farm with his family and running the gas station in Cove Fort, Utah. Marion graduated from Fillmore High School and remained there until 1985 when he moved to St. George. Marion was a farmer and rancher. He owned and operated a trucking company for a large part of his life. He met and married Carol Stapels, where they were married in the Manti Temple, and who died of complications of pneumonia. They had three children, two of whom survive, Gregory L. Kesler and Derk Kesler. Sheila Pincock who has previously preceded him. Marion later met and married Melody Dawn Christiansen in the St. George Temple and who has since preceded him. They both had children from previous marriages, which they successfully blended into a family. The survivors are Debra A. Liebroder, Justin Kesler, Ariane Harker and Sarina Fielding. Marion always had a desire to help those in need. He was always willing to open his home to others, work, and he was known to deliver meat to the single ladies in his ward. He was always looking for a way to lend a helping hand. He may be gone, but he certainly isn't forgotten -- and never will be. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ivins Fourth Ward Chapel (240 E 1660 S, Ivins). Friends and family may visit prior to services Tuesday from 11:30 am. -- 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Ivins Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary (435) 586-4040.
