East Millard Pioneers, Death Notices, As Published in the Progress 1913-1937, p. 149: >From a clipping from the Millard County Progress in the possession of Marjie Cox: MRS. MCMAHON IS LAID TO REST. Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. McMahon, who died last Saturday, were held at the McMahon residence last Monday at 2 o'clock P.M. Bishop F. H. Partridge presiding. A few of the members of the former ward choir were in attendance and sang some of the good, old familiar appropriate hymns. Elder John Cooper offered up the opening prayer. The speakers were Elders F. A. Robison and Christian Anderson, who had known the deceased for many years, and spoke words of sympathy and hope to the surviving husband and children. Benediction was pronounced by Elder J. D. Smith. Sister Lucinda Atchison McMahon was a native of the State of New Jersey, where she was born in the year 1838. In her early girlhood she heard the Gospel preached by the Latter-day Saint Elders, and being convinced of its truth, she became a member of the Mormon church when only 15 years of age, and that in the face of much opposition and persecution. She came to Utah in 1861, and in 1864 she became the wife of James McMahon, who survives her, but is a very sick man, and has been afflicted a long time, as had also the deceased. She was the mother of five children; two sons and three daughters. Her daughters were all present, but her sons living a great distance from here (Rest cut away) (Mrs. Cox has added in the margin: Died Feb. 23, 1907.
