Billings 1923 ~ 2004 Cecil E. Billings, son of Gerald Oraian and Anna Wilcox Billings, was born December 7, 1923 in Delta, Utah and died February 18, 2004 in El Paso, Texas. He was a radar technician for the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Gayety mine sweeper in the battle of Okinawa and in the Aleutian Islands during the Korean War. He taught Basic Electronics to U.S. and allied soldiers at Fort Bliss, Texas for 32 years. Survived by wife, Kathryn Ashcraft Billings; and children, Carol, David, Jean, Dawn, Mark, and Rosann; 25 grandchildren; and six great-grand-children; brothers and sisters, Lucile, Howard, George, Blanche, Arlene, Wanda, Terah, Fenton, and Bryce. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 2/22/2004.
