Born November 5, 1915 in Tonopah, Nevada to Raymond Webster and Elsie Margaret Gramer Piercy. Her mother died; she was raised by John Marion and Gertrude Madeliene Piercy Delk. She married Albert Samuel Gubler June 6, 1942; later solemnized in St George Temple. He died January 5, 1998. Attended Tonopah schools. Took flying lessons at age 16. Attended University of Nevada for five years and additional summer schools. First woman to attend engineering school. After graduation was offered a teaching position at Lund High School where she met Albert. Baptized into the LDS Church April 29, 1950 in a spring by their home. As an active member she served in numerous callings. Also active in community service. Moved to Delta in 1993. Survived by daughter, Gertrude Marion "Gerty" (Charles) Ervin, Delta; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; half-brother, Ray Piercy, Salt Lake City; half-sister, Betty Butcher, Oakland, CA. Preceded in death by son, Albert Samuel Jr. Funeral services Monday January 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. PST in Lund, NV. Friends may call at Nickle Mortuary Sunday January 4, 2004, 7-8 p.m. MST and at the church in Lund Monday 10-11 a.m. PST. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 1/4/2004.
