Robert was born April 12, 1937 in Holden, Ut, and grew up in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Utah. with a BS in Civil Engineering and worked as a civil engineer for over 30 years; later, he earned a teaching credential from Cal-State University, Fullerton, CA; and was most recently was teaching math at Pomona High School, CA. Robert is survived by his wife, Valerie, Claremont, CA; three children, Rob Gustaveson, Renton, WA; Britt Gustaveson, Salem, OR; Jan-Erik Gustaveson, Claremont, CA; one sister, Linda Leaf, Taylorsville; three brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Gustaveson, both Salt Lake City; Brent Gustaveson, Kearns; and three grandchildren. Inurnment will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept, 18, at the Holden, Utah Cemetery. Pierce Brothers, Griffith Mortuary, Chino, CA in charge of arrangements. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 9/11/2003.
