Boyd was born October 14, 1926 in Leamington, Utah to Alma Martin and Pearl Parry Harder. He passed away at UVRMC in Provo, Utah on January 9, 2004. Boyd grew up in Leamington, Utah and graduated from Delta High School in 1944. He worked for the railroad and joined the Merchant Marines in World War II and traveled the world. He married Virginia Ann Scovil on August 26, 1950 and was later sealed for eternity on September 27, 1951. He served in Korea in the Army, Battery "B" 145th Artillery, Nephi, Utah (1950-1952) and then served full time in the Utah National Guard 116th Engineers, Springville, Utah. He retired February 14, 1982. He also worked for Valley Asphalt and H & R Electric. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Ann Scovil Harder; four children: Stephen (Cathy) Harder of Lehi, Carolyn (Henry) Knam of Idaho, Boyd (Jayne) Harder of Mapleton, and Natalie (Calvin) Davis of Washington. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Glen Harder of Layton, Utah. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, animals and repairing things. He was an active member of the LDS church and served as a high priest. A viewing will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the White Church on Main and Maple in Mapleton, Utah. Interment will be in the Mt.
