She was born April 3, 1914 in Myton, Utah the daughter of Francis Marion and Ethel Braithwaite Jolley. On February 16, 1935, she married Lloyd A. Ivie in Ely, Nevada. Lloyd preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1983. Lyllis and Lloyd raised five wonderful children. Together they taught their children traditional values and a love of nature. Lyllis loved spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing with her family. She came from a long line of pioneer stock and was proud of the legacy they left her. Her greatest joy was her family for whom she had unconditional love. She had a great capacity for giving of herself, helping many people throughout her life. She was loved by all who knew her. Lyllis truly was a people person. She had a gift of music and could harmonize, whistle, and yodel better than anyone around. Survivors: children, Richard (Glenna), Terry (JaLene), Marilyn Toa, Ron, Valerie Peterson (Douglas); 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, LeeAnn; also 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel 8090 So. State where friends may call Friday from 9:30 a.m. to time of services. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park, Sandy, Utah. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune from 10/22/2003 - 10/23/2003.
