She was born March 8, 1920 in Fillmore, Utah, the sixth child of seven to James William and Louie Giles Frampton. Kathlyn graduated from Millard High School, moved to Salt Lake City, and lived with her sister Lois while she attended LDS Business College. She married Bennie Junker on August 25, 1946 in Kirksville, Missouri, with one nickel between them. Both Bennie and Kathlyn got jobs at the John Deere company in Iowa. They soon returned to Salt Lake City to be near her family. The marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Kathlyn was proud of her long career in banking including 34 years at Zion's Bank. She believed in hard work and thrift and was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed cooking, canning, bowling, travel, long talks with Lois, a clean house and a beautiful yard. Kathlyn especially loved attending her grandchildren's activities and events. She was a very independent soul, living by herself and managing her own affairs after Bennie died until her final illness. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Mrs. Daniel) Summerhays, Murray, and four grandchildren, Rebecca (Mrs. Tad) Davies, Providence, RI, Emily (Mrs. Zaur) Isaakov, Brooklyn, NY, Ben Summerhays, Palo Alto, CA, and Jake Summerhays, serving an LDS mission in Chile. She is also survived by her brother, Dell Frampton, and her beloved niece, Camille Bradshaw, and many other nieces and nephews. Kathlyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bennie, her parents, and five brothers and sisters, Vernon Frampton, Lois Frampton Turpin, Giles Frampton, Merl Frampton and Bertis Frampton. Special thanks are extended to her niece Susan Frampton for the many hours spent at her bedside and the other tasks she undertook to make this passing easier for Kathlyn and her family. Also, Kathlyn's neighbors have taken special care of her in the years since the passing of Bennie, and the family wants them to know how much they are loved because of their attention and care. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at noon in the Hillcrest Ward, 495 E. 5600 S. Friends may call at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, from 6 to 7:30 PM on Tuesday November 18, 2003 and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Murray City Cemetery.
