Ila was born March 1, 1918 in Meadow, UT to Rulon and Clara Williamson Stott. After graduating from Millard High School, she attended the Holy Cross School of Nursing in Salt Lake City, UT. In 1939 she received her RN certification. She married VR Magleby March 9, 1940. In 1948 the Maglebys moved to Cedar City, UT where Ila was a nurse for over 30 years. She retired in 1970 after touching countless lives as a dedicated and sensitive caregiver. Ila is survived by her devoted husband VR and her twin sister Lila Kile of Sacramento, CA; three children Bonnie Kay (Kent) Bishop of Cedar City, UT, Clark R. Magleby of St. George, UT, Suzanne Magleby of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren Carrie Magleby, Bradley Bishop, Cindy Black, and Kyle Bishop; and twin great grandsons. Ila was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Emmett, and Grant (Helen) Stott; sister Emma (Ed) Parker. Ila's children would like to express their appreciation and love for their father for the loving care he has given Ila, especially over the past few years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City). Friends and family may visit Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary (435) 586-4040. The Magleby family would appreciate donations made in Ila's name for a Southern Utah University scholarship fund for nursing students at Office of Advancement, 351 West Center, Cedar City, UT 84720. Ila was born March 1, 1918 in Meadow, UT to Rulon and Clara Williamson Stott. After graduating from Millard High School, she worked at Brown Caf‚ in Fillmore, UT to earn money to attend the Holy Cross School of Nursing in Salt Lake City, UT. In 1939 she received her RN certification and met her future husband, VR Magleby. They married on March 9, 1940. Ila worked as a private duty nurse in Salt Lake City until the birth of her daughter Bonnie. Their son Clark was born three years later while VR was in Texas serving in the United States Army. In 1948 the Maglebys moved to Cedar City, UT where Ila began her nursing tenure at the old Iron County Hospital. Her daughter Suzanne was born six years later. Ila left the hospital in 1969 to work for D. Lamar Graff. She retired from nursing a few years later after touching countless lives as a dedicated and sensitive caregiver. Ila and VR enjoyed their retirement by traveling, attending elder hostels, and living seasonally in both Cedar City and Beaver Dam, AZ. Ila is survived by her devoted husband VR and her twin sister Lila Kile of Sacramento, CA; three children Bonnie Kay (Kent) Bishop of Cedar City, UT, Clark R. Magleby of St. George, UT, Suzanne Magleby of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren Carrie Magleby, Bradley Bishop, Cindy Black, and Kyle Bishop; and twin great grandsons.
