Memmott 1909 ~ 2003 SCIPIO, UT- Ossie Kathleen Memmott, 93, passed away the morning of August 12, 2003 in the Fillmore Hospital. She was born on August 30, 1909 in Scipio, Utah to Forrest and Katey Esklund Memmott. She married Alonzo "Lon" Memmott on October 10, 1932 in Scipio, the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They spent nearly 70 years together before Lon passed away on August 18, 2002. She attended school in Scipio and Fillmore and graduated from Millard High School. She worked along side of her husband for 27 years at the Nelson Ricks Creamery in Salt Lake City. She and Lon loved to travel and spent much time together fishing and sight seeing. She was a member of the LDS church and faithfully fulfilled many callings. She was a member of the DUP in Scipio. She loved to garden and spend time outdoors. She was a home maker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grand-mother, sister and friend. She loved her family dearly. She is survived by her three children, Connie (Burtis) Quarnberg of Scipio, Freeman (LaVona) Memmott of Richfield, Larry (Katharine) Memmott of Ogden, 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Enid Worwood of Levan; brothers, Jay (Arlene) Memmott, Chester (Ester) Memmott of Scipio; sisters-in-law, Melba Memmott and Klea Memmott, both of Scipio. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Brent; brothers, Harmon, Ross and Jewell Memmott. She was an inspiration to many besides her family and friends and will be missed greatly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the Scipio LDS Ward Chapel. A family viewing will be held on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30. Friends are invited to join the family from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery with Magleby-Rasmussen Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant as the Funeral Directors.
