Orton Eugene Payne
It's Not "Goodbye" 
It's "See Ya Later"

     Our loving husband, father and grandfather left this earth Nov. 16, 2003
while surrounded by his family.

     He was born January 6, 1925 in Fillmore, Utah to Hazel Hatton and William
Clark Payne.

     Married the sweetheart of his life, Edna Fae Weed February 25, 1950.

     Orton was a heavy equipment operator for Gardner Construction for 35
years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors; he especially
loved spending time with his family.  Orton was a private man who will be
remembered for the selfless sacrifices he made for his family and those he
loved.

     He is survived by his wife of 53 years; children Gary (Lynnette), Debra
(Ed) Brandol, Danette Ford; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
brother Donald W. Payne; sister Helen Richey; numerous nieces, nephews and
lifelong friends.

     Preceded in death by his parents and his loving son, Scott W. Payne.

     A Viewing will be held Wednesday November 19th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at
Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Rd., West Jordan. Interment to
follow the service on Friday, November 21st at 2:00 p.m. Redwood Memorial
Cemetery. 

     He fought a hard and courageous battle and he will be greatly missed.
