She was born March 24, 1920 in Fillmore, Utah to Phlander and Alta Day. She married Jack Eldon Day September 17, 1940. Jack passed away on June 22, 1960. Merl later married August Pearson on October 5, 1962. August passed away on January 8, 1993. She is survived by her sister, Leora Christensen of Levan; sons, Robert J. Day (Sonja) of West Jordan, Richard E. Day (JoAnn) of South Willard, Sam W. Day (Karolyn) of Taylorsville; daughter, Sally Nehmer (Steven) of West Valley; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Merl is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Phil Day. The family of Merl Pearson would like to give a very special thanks to the nurses and staff at Christus St. Joseph's Villa for their love and never ending commitment to our mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 12:00 Noon at the Kanosh LDS Ward, Kanosh, UT. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Kanosh City Cemetery.
