Perkins 3/16/21 ~ 9/29/03 Warren G. Perkins, 82, of Pleasant Grove passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at his home. He was born March 16, 1921 in Delta, Utah, the sixth of seven children, to Joseph and LaPreal Wallace Perkins. He married Vera Bliss on December 18, 1943 in North Bend, Nebraska. Warren grew up in Spanish Fork and attended school there. He served in the CCC's and in the Army Air Corp during World War II in Guam. He worked at Geneva Steel as a millwright in the rolling mills. He retired in 1977 after 30 years of service. Warren loved the outdoors and was an avid collector of rocks, antique bottles, and many other items. He taught himself silversmithing and made jewelry for all his friends and family from the rocks he gathered. He is survived by his wife, Vera, of Pleasant Grove; two children: Gary Perkins, Pleasant Grove; and Ilene (Marvon) Holdaway, Sandy; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Bringhurst, Springville. Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 S. 300 E., Pleasant Grove where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by District IV of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 10/1/2003.
