All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ut/utfiles.htm *********************************************************************** Obituary: The Salt Lake Tribune, Thursday, 8 Jan 2004: Emma Maxine Memmott Robins 1915 ~ 2004 SCIPIO, UTAH- God called one of his choicest spirits, Emma Maxine Memmott Robins home to be with His other choice spirits in His kingdom on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 in the Fillmore Hospital. She was born on October 8, 1915 in Scipio, UT to Angus and Ina Peterson Memmott. She married Mont Benjimin Robins on March 27, 1933 in Provo, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on March 27, 2003. Maxine attended elementary school in Scipio, UT and Millard High School in Fillmore, Utah. She was a devoted LDS church member and filled many positions in that great organization. She was active for many years in the Round Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was instrumental in beautifying the Scipio Cemetery. She never missed an opportunity to give blood to the Red Cross organization. Unselfish with her time in helping the less fortunate, she was always available to help those in need. She uncomplainingly cared for her husband's invalid grandmother when she was 19 years old. She also took care of her uncle Curtis and aunt Addie for many years. She made a beautiful and loving home for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grand children. She was exemplary in her homemaking skills. She had a great love for flowers and the beauty of the earth. She loved to travel with her husband and was a dedicated companion to him. Maxine is survived by her husband, Mont; children, Essie (Richard) Beeston of Hurricane, UT, Gary (RosaLee) Robins of Scipio, UT, Janeal (Richard) Monsen of St. George, UT; 14 grandchildren; 41 great-grand children; sisters, Florence (Mark) Robins and Edith Monroe; sister-in-law, Lila Robins; many nieces and nephews who fondly called her "Aunt Mackie". She is preceded in death by her parents; a baby daughter, Ina Maxine; two brothers, Lon and Edward; brother-in-law, Neil Monroe; sisters-in-law, Ossie Memmott and Fern Memmott. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Scipio LDS Ward, Scipio, UT. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (55 West 200 South, Fillmore, UT) and also 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 prior to the funeral.
