Her incredible courage in surviving several strokes was an inspiration to all who knew her. Born August 8, 1927, in Holden, Utah to Clyde LeRoy Wood and Lillian Paul. She attended school in Holden, and graduated from Millard High School. She was the youngest of four sisters and enjoyed a lifetime friendship with them. She attended two years of college in Cedar City, Utah. She married Dale Roy Thompson, December 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were later divorced. She worked many years for Mountain Bell and later retired from U.S. West. Mom dearly loved her family, and worked tirelessly to make her home a peaceful and beautiful place. Everyone felt welcome in her home, and it was the place she loved the best. She loved working in her garden, playing with her grandchildren, and traveling. She cherished the time spent with her many friends. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling her calling as a visiting teacher, even when she was barely able to walk herself. She was a long-time member, and past president of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Laureate Eta. She loved and served her friends and neighbors, and was always there for anyone in need. She knew how to work hard, she knew how to laugh, she enjoyed everything that was good and beautiful.
