Rex was born Dec 26, 1928 in Fillmore, UT to Von and Zola Utley. On May 6, 1948, he married Helen Davis, in WY, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Rex was the eldest of seven children. He loved the outdoors. His dream vacation was to go to Alaska on a fishing trip. He was an avid hunter early in his life. In the last year he told his son-in-law, Lou, that he now viewed deer as "too cute" to shoot. During the last few years of his life he became more of an observer than a participant. He was an avid Jazz fan whether they won or lost. He loved spending time with his family at Bear Lake and welcomed visitors at his home. Rex sacrificed his goals, interests, and ambitions to become a husband and caretaker to his wife and three adopted children, and one biological child. His commitment to his wife, children, his loving nature, and sense of humor will greatly be missed by his family. Rex is survived by his four children, Marsha (Lewis) Hardman-Lundell, Sandy, Sharleen (Mack) Williams, Bluffdale, Sharon Cohee, West Valley, Lynn (Rose) Utley, Sandy; daughter-in-law, Kaye (Craig) Sanders, West Valley City; brother, Samuel (Glenna) Utley; and sisters, Marba (Merlin) Terry, Judy (Larry) Phelps, Joann (John) Jackson, Mary Lou (Blaine) Buck.
