She passed into the loving arms of her parents, daughter Brenda and son Karl on January 20th, 2004 at 5:58 p.m. of congestive heart failure. She died surrounded by many family members. Dorothy was born June 22, 1920 in Scipio, Millard, Utah to James Christen and Ruth Shearsmith Olsen, the fourth of six children: Phyllis, Hilda, Joy, Jay Clive and Donald Beverly. She married Orel Delbert Quarnberg in 1940; they were later divorced. She married Newell Webb in 1953; they were later divorced. Dorothy raised seven of her eight children to adulthood and was a great example of courage and perseverance. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member of the quilting committee of the Springville Utah 9th ward and enjoyed her membership in the church. She also was a den mother and enjoyed her "cubbies" as they grew into young men. She is survived by Owen (Faye) Quarnberg, Mapleton; Lynn (ReNae) Quarnberg Boise, ID; Larry (Paulette) Webb, American Fork; Chris (Shari) Quarnberg, Bountiful; Mikalene (Larry) Boren, Orem; Cindy (Roy) Martin, West Jordan and a brother Donald (Melba) Olsen, Nephi, Utah. Dorothy had 39 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren plus four great-grandchildren expected. She was preceded in death by daughter Brenda and son Karl and all of her other siblings except brother Donald. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Springville Stake Center at 245 South 600 East in Springville. Friends and family may call on Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South, Springville and at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff and friends at the Beehive Home in South Jordan who loved and took care of Mom since September 2003 and Hearts to Hospice for their compassionate, albeit brief care.
