He was the seventh child of Charles Robert Goddard Woodbury and Agnes Isadore Bickley of Hinckley, Utah. Don was married to Mary Eunice Naylor of Hinckley on May 18, 1934 and later sealed in the Manti Temple. They brought into the world six children: Audrey Dawn (deceased); Gerald Charles (Mona) Woodbury of Salt Lake City; Daryl Don (Karin) Woodbury of Tacoma, Washington; Carl Robert (Kerrie) Woodbury of Abraham, Utah; Mary Catherine (Carl) Paystrup of Orem, Utah; Suzanne (Dee Jay) McCollum of Topeka, Kansas. He has a great posterity, too numerous to mention, who will miss him very much. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, his wife Mary, a daughter Audrey and a granddaughter, Joann Meinhardt. Dad held many kinds of jobs during his life from farming, garage work, service station, and finally in 1952, Don and Mary moved from Delta to Santaquin to work for Geneva Steel and then in 1956 they moved on to Pleasant Grove and finally to Provo. Dad grew up in Hinckley and graduated from Millard Academy in 1931. He played tuba, sang in the Deseret Sentinels and got to sing at the L.D.S. Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. Later he played guitar with a friend and would sing "Old Shep" to us as children. Dad loved to help his neighbors and was good with his mind and hands to figure out how to fix things for people. He gave selflessly all his life to those around him. We always knew he was happy because he was always whistling away everywhere he went. Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 85 East 300 South, Provo and on Monday, February 16 from 11-11:45 a.m. at the Provo First Ward Chapel at 200 South 100 East, Provo. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.walkerfamilymortuaries.com. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 2/14/2004.
