Clarkson Holladay - Charles Robert Clarkson, 91, life-long Holladay resident, died of causes incident to age Saturday, Jan. 16, 1953 in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Melby, 2427 Kentucky Ave. Born Feb. 2, 1862 in Salt Lake City to Robert and Ann Clegg Clarkson, both born in England. He was a retired farmer. Member LDS Church. Married Alvira Stout, daughter of Hosea and Alvira Wilson Stout, 18 Sep 1884, in the Endowment House. She died in 1923. He married Mary N. Neilson in 1925. Surviving; widow; sons, daughters, Mrs. Melby, Mrs. Myrtle Sewell, Mrs. Verna Johnson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alvira White, San Francisco, Calif.; Hosea S. Clarkson of Vallejo, Calif.; Charles R. Clarkson, Jr., Florence, Ariz.; Mrs. Mary Parker and Mrs. Irene Thompson, Los Angeles, Calif. 23 grand children, 34 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife and four children.
