Allred, Jack L.
Jack L. Allred 1918 ~ 2004  ROOSEVELT - Jack Lavell Allred, 86, passed away
Nov. 8, 2004, in Roosevelt, UT, after an extended illness.Born Oct. 14, 1918,
in Roosevelt, UT to Vern Henry Allred and Mabel Irene Cloward. Married Ar-dith
Bowden Feb. 27, 1946 in Vernal, Utah; later solem-nized March 3, 1950 in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jack attended Wilson Elementary, Roosevelt and Alterra
High Schools, and spent a brief time at Utah State Agricultural College in
Logan, Utah. He was a World War II Army veteran. Survived by his wife; seven
children, Clark (Rebecca), Rex, Karol (Rick) Meryhew, Nadine (Reed) Hall, Ted
(Eileen), Kathy (Mark) Hewlett, and Dixie (Curtis) Madsen; 27 grandchildren; a
great-grandson; two brothers, Glen (Helen), J R (Theresa); and a
sister-in-law, Zola Allred. Preceded in death by his brother, Dee; sister,
Lola Sessions; and grandson, Joel Allred. Funeral services will be held
Saturday Nov. 20, 2004, 11 a.m. at the Ballard Ward (two miles east of
Roosevelt on Hwy 40). Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at Hullinger
Funeral Home, 457 E. 300 No, Roosevelt, UT and at the church Saturday morning
one hour prior to services. Interment, Vernal Memorial Park. Funeral
directors, Larkin Mortuary.

Alvey, Del Ray
Del Alvey 1931 ~ 2004  Del Ray Alvey, age 73, passed away November 12, 2004 at
his home in West Valey, Utah after suffering from respiratory arrest. He was
born August 29, 1931 in Escalante, Utah to Arnold and Zella Schow Alvey. Del
married Donna Pedersen Aug. 19, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah.He joined the
Army at age 17 serving four years in Korea during the Korean War. He was
awarded the Bronze Star. He lived most of his married life in Park City, Utah
working 25 years in the Silver Mines and then five years for the Park City
School District. Del's life revolved around his wife of 51 years and his
family. He always looked forward to visits from his children and
grandchildren, and enjoyed telling everyone about his great family. After
retirement he enjoyed watching the jazz games on TV and playing games on his
computer. Survived by his wife, Donna; children, Gail (Don) Thompson of
Oregon, Brenda (Mark) Olsen of Heber City, Del (Debbie) Alvey of Ohio, and
Greg Alvey of West Valley; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren;
brother, Tom (Tammy) Alvey of Escalante; sisters, Velma (Blaine) Durrant of
Lehi, and Gayle (Earl) Stonehocker of Taylorsville; also many nieces and
nephews. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Don. Funeral services will
be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the Heber Stake Center, 150 N. 200 W. Friends may
call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Olpin-Hoopes Fuenral Home, 288 N.
Main, Heber City and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be
in the Heber City Cemetery with military honors. Special thanks to the V. A.
Hospital Staff and social workers, and the emergency staff at Pioneer Valley
Hospital for their special care and support.

Bender, Ernest Heber
Ernest Heber Bender "E.H." 1942 ~ 2004  Ernest Heber Bender passed away
November 11, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bornin Salt Lake City, Utah January
25, 1942 to Lena Resch and Herman Bender. He attended East High School and the
University of Utah. He continued his education his entire life. Owner and
operator of E.H. Bender painting 1977 to 2003. Married Mary (Molly) Dubach,
Nancy Rodrigues and Sandra Kay Dingbaum. Our Beloved Father, Brother,
Grandfather and Friend. Ernie exemplified the highest integrity a man could
possess. He was an outstanding and talented artist and had a passion for the
arts, loved good food, and a good book, tennis and soccer. He traveled to many
parts of the world. Incredibly talented at everything he did. "Everything he
touched turned to Gold." MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. WE LOVE YOU WITH ALL OUR
HEARTS. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. Children, Falleen Kimberley Bender Randle
(Demetrius), Sulianna Bender Chandler, (Ron Sr.,) James Robert Bender, Jeremy
Frances Bender, Corby Kristina Young, Jennifer Winkles, Becky Rodrigues, Amber

Borman, Layla D.
Layla D. Borman 1971 ~ 2004  Our beloved Layla D. Borman, age 32, passed away
Nov. 11, 2004. Born December 20, 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of
Michael L. Borman and Darlene L. Larsen. She had a wonderful sense of humor.
She was a loving mother, her daughter was her pride and joy. She will be
missed. Layla is survived by her daughter, Hannah Abrianna Mangum (5);
boyfriend, Ahmed Al-Saidi; parents, Michael Borman, and Bob and Darlene
Starley; grandparents, Elaine Manning Newey, Dick and Cathy Larsen; sister,
Trista Borman; niece, Zoie Addington. Preceded in death by grandfather, Ezra
Borman. Memorial services will be Monday, November 15, 2004, 6 p.m. at 3943
South Jester Drive (1450 West). Services under the direction of Mc-Dougal

Boulton, Franklin F.
Franklin F. Boulton 7/4/26 ~ 11/12/04  BOUNTIFUL - Our beloved husband,
father, brother and friend, Franklin Foss Boulton, age 78, passed away Friday,
Nov. 12, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah.  He was born July 4, 1926 and loved thinking
the whole country was celebrating his birthday. He was born in Bountiful,
Utah, the son of Frank R. and Zelda Hatch Boulton.  He was a World War II
Veteran serving in the US Navy. Married Irene Leany on August 14, 1947 in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years; children,
Ruth, David (Sheri), Fred (Laurie); nine grandchildren; four
great-grand-children, and a sister, Janice (Dave) Peterson. Preceded in death
by a son Frank Robert. Frank was loved and cherished by his many friends and
he will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 16,
2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Val Verda 4th Ward Chapel, 2633 South 50 West,
Bountiful. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon

Brinkerhoff, Verda
Verda Brinkerhoff 1913 ~ 2004  Bicknell, Utah - Our beloved mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Verda Ernstsen
Brinkerhoff, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 9, 2004 at her
daughter's home in West Valley City of causes incident to age.  Verda was born
September 4, 1913 in Fremont, Utah, to Ove and Mary Violet Ernstsen. She was
the sixth of 11 children and spent most of her childhood growing up in Fremont
and Murray, Utah. At the age of 17, Verda moved to Wayne County and Nov. 13,
1930 she married Otto Hatch Brinkerhoff. They made their home in Bicknell,
Utah and raised three daughters. They were married for 65 years until Otto's
death, April 6, 1996. Verda was an active member in the LDS Church, serving in
many capacities. She was a member of the DUP Camp Thurber for 65 years and was
in the Bicknell Literary Club. She loved crocheting, quilting, knitting,
sewing, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.  Verda owned and
operated Verda's Caf‚ in Bicknell for 15 years. She also worked for the Dixie
National Forest Service for seven years.  Verda is survived by her three
daughters: Iris and Bert McDonald of Bicknell; Sharon and Bob Cowley of
Venice; Barbara and Dwight Taylor of West Valley City; 10 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; sister: Norma and Duane Turner of Salina.  She was
preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter, Onda Vee; a
granddaughter, Julie Taylor Mamales; two brothers, seven sisters: Clifton
Ernstsen, Duane Ernstsen, Arthella Pate, Lola Mae Hadfield, Lucille Rushton,
Luella Bennett, Veta Beutler, Naoma Berry and Juanita Lee.  Funeral services
will be held Monday, November 15, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Thurber LDS Ward
Chapel in Bicknell, where friends may call for viewing Monday morning from
11:00 to12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery
under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina

Brown, Wendy
Wendy Brown 1970 ~ 2004  Wendy Paulene North Brown passed away 11 Nov. 2004 at
home, surrounded by her family, from a brain tumor.  Wendy was born 11 Oct.
1970 to Donald Wray and Renee Russell North in Tooele, Utah. She married
Matthew Allen Brown 21 June 1988; their marriage was later solemnized in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple 18 Aug. 1994. Her faith was a great comfort to her. She
gained peace and guidance in going to the temple. Wendy loved her job as the
Environmental & Safety Coordinator at Morton Salt, Grantsville Facility and
felt that "Morton" was her second family. It's hard to describe a person who
meant so much to so many. In her short time on this earth, Wendy was active in
her community and church - believing that in order to make a difference you
had to stand for your beliefs and values. She always had a kind word and smile
for everyone she met; making sure that no one was left behind. She left this
world a much better place and will be greatly missed by anyone who had the
privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind her husband Matt Brown; children
Colton and Maddie; her mother Renee North, and sisters Pamela North, Dorothy
(Steve) Ellis, Wendy (Gary) Palmer, and brother Duke (Shere) North. She was
preceded in death by her father and grandparents.  We would like to thank
everyone for all the support that has been given to our family during this
difficult time. We know you loved Wendy as much as we do and thank you for
helping her. A special thanks to Morton Salt and the Grantsville 8th Ward for
all the meals you have prepared for us. You have brought us great comfort.  As
per her request, there will be graveside services Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at the
Grantsville City  Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Campbell, Clara M. Gerhing
Clara M. Gehring Campbell (Alvey) 1913 ~ 2004  Our beloved, most precious
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Clara
Martha Gehring Campbell (Alvey), 91 was called home by our Heavenly Father and
reunited with her sweetheart, Eddie, on November 11, 2004. Born January 19,
1913 in Brighton, Utah. A daughter of Archibald Gehring and Anna Gehrke
Gehring. Married Elwynn Parry (deceased): Married Delmar Schweiger (deceased).
Married Edward Campbell on May 2, 1945, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple
(deceased). Married Purcell Alvey, July 15, 1990, (deceased). She unselfishly
served all who knew her. Was co-founder of Distinctive Catering, where she was
known throughout the valley and retired after 40 years of service. Worked in
Salt Lake and Bountiful  temples as an ordinance worker. Her greatest pride
was her posterity and raising 15 children. She lovingly met the challenge of
blending five families, which was a great example to us all. She will be
greatly missed. Mom shared the beauties of her roses, vegetable garden and her
handcrafts with everyone. She also was known for her love of dogs, especially
her dog "Angel". A special thank you to those who lovingly cared for her at
Sandy Regional the past four years, and to Hearts for Hospice for their loving
guidance. Preceded in death by four husbands, three children, four
grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, two brothers and a son-in
law. Survived by four sons, eight daughters; E. LaRocque (Linda), Travis
(Sharen), Jared (Barbara), Maurice (Pat), Erlynne Johnson (Wayne), Anita
Chapman (Gary, deceased), Colene Williams (Brent), Claudia Backman (Ric),
Stefanie (Kay) Campbell, Laraine Lister (Lonnie), Darlene Walburg, Delila
Lister, Merle Elizabeth Alvey; brother Robert Gehring (Bernice); sister Rhea
Worthen (Thomas); 79 grandchildren, 159 great-grandchildren, 10
great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 15, 2004
at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East. Family and friends may
visit Sunday, November 14, from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial with one hour prior to
services on Monday. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn 2350 East 1300

Connelley, Danny Gayle
Danny Gayle Connelley 1946 ~ 2004  Our loving husband, father, grandfather,
brother and friend, Danny Connelley, age 57, passed away peacefully Nov. 10,
2004 at his favorite place, his home in the  mountains. Born Dec. 16, 1946 in
Salt Lake City, son of Eugene Earl and Sabina Grace Smith Connelley. He
married Connie Newport on Oct 13, 1965 in Salt Lake City. Together they had
two wonderful children: James and Lori. Dan and Connie later divorced. On
October 5, 2000, Danny married Christy Oaks in Salt Lake City. Dan owned and
operated A-1 Appliance for many years and was a very hard worker. He was
completely devoted to his customers and gave special attention to his elderly
customers. He was a true professional in every way. Dan enjoyed the outdoors,
water sports, and especially the cabin he and his family built together in
Tolgate Canyon. Above all else, Dan loved his wife, his children, and was an
adoring grandfather to his three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife,
Christy; son, James; daughter, Lori (Brian) Atchley; grandchildren: David,
Ashlee and Brianna; his siblings: Kay (Jerry), Mary (Andy), Pat (Ezra), Tom
(Carol), George (Vicky), Herb, and Bill (Debbie). He was preceded in death by
his sister, Devona and his brothers, Leland and Eugene. Funeral services will
be held Mon., 11 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd, where
family and friends may visit Sun., 5-7 p.m.

Didericksen, Veda M. Mendenhall
Veda D.Mendenhall Didericksen "Mom, Grandma and Grandma Great"  Veda M.
Didericksen, 90, passed away November 13, 2004 at the home of her daughter,
Joan. She was born July 14, 1914 in Dayton, Idaho to Lorin Mathew and Agnes
Elvira Durrant Mendenhall. Veda married Floyd Didericksen April 19, 1933 in
the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away August 2, 1981. She lived most of her
life in Preston, Idaho where she owned Veda's Style Shop. She was an active
member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. Her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Veda is survived
by her children, Dale Didericksen, Tempe, Arizona, Duayne (Lee) Didericksen,
Eagle, Idaho, Joan (Leon) Dockstader, Sandy, Utah; eight grandchildren; and 19
beautiful great-grandchildren; brothers, Russell Mendenhall, Clinton, Utah,
Bill Mendenhall, Burley, Idaho; also many nieces and nephews. Her husband,
parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter precede her in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the
Preston First LDS Ward Chapel, Preston, Idaho. Friends and family may call
Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Mortuary in Preston, and Tuesday at the
church prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Preston City
Cemetery, Preston, Idaho. The family would like to thank Care Source Hospice,
especially the caring hands of Ruth, Yolanda, and Terrell.

Easterbrook, Aleen
F . AleenEasterbrook 1920 ~ 2004  Our mom and best friend, Aleen Easterbrook,
born June 6, 1920, past away peacefully November 12, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah.
Aleen was born in Lynndyl, Utah to James and Mary Smith. She was preceded in
death by her husband Joseph H. Easterbrook. Aleen is survived by six
daughters, Joleen Morrison, Flo Morrison, Linda Jugler ("Skip"), Julia
McRoberts (Troy), Janet Madole, and Janice Bradshaw; 18 grandchildren; and
many great and great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margret Dean, Annette
Patterson. The family would like to thank the Rocky Mountain Care Center and
Hospice for all of their support. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday,
November 17, 2004, 2 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. A
viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary and
12:45-1:45 p.m. the day of the services, as well. Interment, Mt. Olivet
Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South.

Gallacher, Norval Kingdon
Norval Kingdon Gallacher 1915 ~ 2004  Norval Kingdon Gallacher, age 89 passed
away November 12, 2004 in Salt Lake City.  He was the son of Emma Jean Kingdon
and Norval James Gallacher, He was born on July 26, 1915, in Salt Lake City,
Utah and he married Ruby Parkin February 14, 1939. Dad met mother while
working at J.C. Penney's in downtown Salt Lake City. He later worked at
Auerbach's in the shoe dept. In 1944 he began repairing pianos in the family
garage and selling those he had repaired. He then opened and operated Kings's
Music Shop in 1945. The company closed in 1996 due to his illness. He enjoyed
birthdays and activities with his family, he also enjoyed bowling, bridge and
traveling. He belonged to the Ambassador Club and Rotary Club of Sugar House.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, three daughters, Anne McSweeney, Joan
Wagner and Susan Gallacher. six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He
is also survived by two sisters, Margaret (Jack) Ricks and Barbara ( Wayne)
Hadley, and three brothers Don (Anita), Lowell and Doug ( Betty) Gallacher.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Evelyn (Reid) Bowen and brothers
Glen, Robert and Scott (Mickey). The family would like to thank Silverado
Senior Living Care Center caregivers and nurses for their care and
thoughtfulness, also Hearts for Hospice for their tender care. A special
thanks to Dr. Charles S. Fehlauer. Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday
November 16, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 So. Highland Dr. Friends
may call Monday evening November 15, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn also
one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial
Park.

Hicks, John C.
John C. Hicks 1948 ~ 2004  Our reluctant hero, John C. Hicks, started his next
mission on November 11, 2004. John lived his life by the Special Forces
motto-"to free the oppressed." He spent his entire life helping the people he
came in contact with learn and grow.  John was born May 17, 1948, in Butte,
MT., to Clifford and Wynn Hicks. Married Carma Hicken Hicks on January 9, 1970
in Heber City, UT. His legacy lives on through his wife, Carma, his daughter
Karen, and those who called him Dad, Traci Mathews and Donna Burchfield, their
spouses and children. John will also be missed by all those that called him
son, brother, uncle, and friend that are to numerous to list. Some of his many
accomplishments are: a 32nd Degree Mason; High Priest in the LDS Church;
Chairman of Coffey County Kansas American Red Cross and Representative to the
International Red Cross for the Loatian people in Kansas. He taught first aid,
CPR and advanced first aid for over 25 years for the Red Cross and helped
developed their Mountain Rescue Program in Washington State. He created an
award winning safety program for two nuclear power plants. He was a proud
member of the Hmong community. Member of the Special Forces Association.
Served on the Utah Governor's Asian American Advisory Committee for nine years
and served as Chair for two plus years, which allowed him get to know the
Asian people he loved. He helped develop the West Valley Sister City Program
and was instrumental in the creation of the Cultural Celebration Center in
West Valley. He worked tirelessly to make people see that we all have the same
basic goals and if we work together we can make wonderful things happen.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Granger 12th Ward, 3751
S. 2200 W. West Valley City, visitations will be Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the Valley
View Funeral Home, 4391 W. 4100 S., and on Monday at the church from
9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Heber City Cemetery.

Holfeltz, Jean
Jean Holfeltz 1940 ~ 2004     Jean Holfeltz, age 63, of Salt Lake City/Vernal,
Utah, died November 12, 2004 at her home.    Jean was born November 26, 1940
to Joseph Arvid and Oral Hall Merkley in Vernal, Utah. Jean loved to spend
time in the mountains fishing and camping. She enjoyed watching the many
movies of John Wayne and scrapbooking. Her greatest love was spending time
with her children, grandchildren and her family.    Jean is survived by her
mother, Oral Merkley; children, Terri (Aldo) Holfeltz, Curt (Shondell)
Holfeltz, and Becky (Tim) Baumann; brother, Ray (RaVae) Merkley; sisters,
Connie (Ned) Cook, Aleen (Terry) Barker, and Lynne Merkley; 11 grandchil-dren;
and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father; and a
grandson, Miles Baumann.    Funeral services will be held in Vernal Tuesday,
November 16, 2004, 1 p.m. at Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Friends and
family may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Dry Fork
Cemetery under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.

Johnson, Carolyn Dalton
Carolyn Dalton Johnson 1916 ~  2004  Carolyn Dalton Johnson passed peacefully
into the next life on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2004, just 15 days after her husband
of 66 years, Delbert D. (Deb) Johnson. Mom was born the oldest of nine
children, with one sister and seven brothers, to Harley Warren and Luella
Adams Dalton on March 22, 1916 in Parowan, UT. She married Delbert (Deb) Cecil
Johnson, Nov. 21, 1938 in the St. George Temple. To this union were born six
children, Carolyn (Lynne), Kim, Kathi, Tod, Julie and Chari. Mom was preceded
in death by her parents Harley Warren and Luella Adams Dalton, one sister
Josephine (Jo) Bouck, four brother, Donald Dalton, Antoine (Tony) Dalton, Paul
Dalton, and Alma Dalton. She is survived by her six children, Carolyn
Elizabeth, Salt Lake City; D. Kim (Louise) Johnson, Naperville, IL; Kathi
Cowden, Seattle, WA; Tod (Kathy) Johnson, Salt Lake City; Julie (Steven)
Davis, Las Vegas, NV; Chari (Ron) Davis, Midway, UT; 23 grandchildren and 27
great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Harrel Dalton, Salt Lake City, Warren
Dalton, Parowan, UT; and Edward Dalton, Parowan, UT. Mom grew up in Parowan,
Utah, enjoying rural life and close association with her siblings and extended
family. Just the thought of Parowan would bring a light into her eyes. She
could entertain the grandchildren for hours with stories from her childhood
and pioneer heritage. She also attended Brigham Young University where she met
her husband. Mom was devoted to her family, both immediate and extended. She
was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In
the church she served as Junior Sunday School Coordinator, Young Women's
president, Relief Society president, stake Primary presidency and in many
other service and humanitarian callings. Mom and Dad accepted a call to serve
a mission in the New Zealand Temple from Sept. 1975- April 1977. Upon their
return from New Zealand, Mom and Dad were called to serve in the Salt Lake
Temple. During her 20 years of service, Mom was an assistant to three temple
matrons. Mother was a homemaker. Her home was inviting. Her love was extended
to everyone. Mom was an excellent seamstress. She found great joy in sewing
for family and friends. Among her many special creations were two beautiful
wedding dresses for her daughters. Mom's legacy is one of loving kindness and
charity. Her unconditional love was inspirational and a powerful influence for
good. Her life was an example of faith and hope. Her attitude was always
optimistic and cheerful. Mom and Dad gave us a legacy of love and marriage as
the Lord intended, standing the test of time, growing stronger each day.
Theirs was a remarkable relationship of love and devotion for each other.
Their life together was beautiful, their love eternal, their future
possibilities endless. A viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South
Temple on Sunday, Nov. 14th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held 
Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at the Emigration 21st Ward North, 2nd Ave. and K St. at
10:00 a.m. Friends may call that morning at the ward from 8:45-9:45 a.m.

Herman R. Langman 1914 ~ 2004  BOUNTIFUL - Herman Russell Langman, 90, passed
away November 11, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born June 29, 1914 in Coal
Bluff, Indiana the son of John and Mary Jane Hoffman Langman. Married Mary
Allen December 1, 1936 in Twin Falls, Idaho; later solemnized in the Salt Lake
LDS Temple. Herman worked with Chrysler Corp. for 30 years. He was a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served for many years
as the ward clerk. Herman had a great love for working with his hands, and
enjoyed gardening. He is survived by one son and three daughters; Robert
(Sharon) Langman, Karen (Al) Gray, Lanna Griffin and Trina Corado; 17
grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11
a.m. Wednesday November 17, 2004 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400

Marcroft, Sarah
SarahMarcroft 1918 ~ 2004  Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother passed quietly away November 12, 2004 at the age of 86,
surrounded by the love of her family. Sarah was born July 4, 1918 in Herriman,
Utah to Thomas Henry Miller and Rebecca Crane Miller. She was the youngest of
nine children. She married her sweetheart, Harry Russell Marcroft, September
11, 1941 in Evanston, Wyoming and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. In
1942 with their one month old baby, she joined her husband, who was training
troops in Ft. Benning, Georgia. They lived in Columbus, Georgia for two years
until his discharge. She loved her career in nursing at Primary Children's
Hospital and St. Mark's Hospital, particularly in the newborn nursery. She was
active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many
callings. She accompanied her husband with their family on his transfer for
three years as a civilian senior analytical accountant to HQ AMC at Wright
Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. She and her husband later served a
proselytizing mission in the Washington Seattle Mission. She was a devoted
wife, mother, and grandmother, who served her family cheerfully with love and
kindness. She created a loving home of happiness, a heaven on earth. She is
survived by her devoted husband, Harry Russell Marcroft; and her children,
Tanya (Dale) Sandusky, Re-nee, Karen, Shauna, and Scott; six grandchildren;
and nine great-grand-children; and by her sister, Rachel Kirkpatrick of
Pasadena, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, and seven
brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 16,
2004, 12 noon in the Rose Park Stake East Chapel at 1200 West and 800 North.
Family and friends may call at the Evans and Early Mortuary (574 East 100
South) Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church from 10:30-11:45 a.m.

companion, uncle, and friend who died November 12, 2004. Kenneth was born
November 7, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elwin N. and Lula Mae Bagley. He
loved the outdoors, dancing, and listening to music. He is survived by his
parents; siblings, Joyce, Kathy, Charlene, Gene (Rae), Deborah, John (Robin);
uncle, Jake; special companion, Brad; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, and three uncles. At Ken's request,

Lindsey M. Morris   On March 24, 1980, an angel was born and sent to touch the
lives of everyone she met. Those affected by Lindsey's grace, beauty and
stunning elegance will always feel her angelic presence. Lindsey is a true
child of light - her remarkable radiance touched and brightened all with which
she came into contact. In just 24 short years she accomplished what most of us
spend far longer lifetimes pursuing yet rarely achieving - selflessly
imparting hope, love, charity, and compassion wherever she walked. As she
lives on in the next world to further impart of her joy to those who have
preceded her, so also, does she live on in this one through reflected light
each of us carries in our hearts and memories. While our grief is profound, it
can scarcely compare with the boundless bliss we feel for the great blessing
of having known her. Lindsey will continue to embrace her mother, Stacy,
father, Bradley, her two younger brothers, Tony and Skyler, her grandmother,
Claudia, and so many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. We would like to extend
our love and appreciation to all of her wonderful friends and particularly the
Soinski family for sharing their love and three beautiful children with our
Lindsey. The services celebrating Lindsey's life will be held on Friday,
November 19, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Red Butte Gardens. A very special graveside

Nash, Inez Emma Newell Boulter
Inez Emma Newell Boulter Nash 1910 ~ 2004  Inez Emma Newell Boulter Nash
passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004 in Cedar Hills, Utah at the age of 94.
Through the graciousness of the Lord, Inez has filled her mission here on
earth, with diligence and love for the Savior and His Gospel. She has no
further need to tarry in mortality and has returned to her creator with
eagerness to meet loved ones and continue her services through the eternities.
Inez was born February 17, 1910 in Orem, Utah to Arthur and Ella Millet
Newell. She married Kendall William Boulter (Tom) on December 26, 1928 and was
later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Tom died June 6, 1947.  Seven years
later she married Fred Nash on March 26, 1954. She has served in many
organizations in the LDS church, especially Relief Society, and served three
missions: Ohio/ Tennessee, St. George, Utah and Florida.  Inez was preceded in
death by Kendall Boulter, Fred Nash, a daughter Lois, a son Kendall, her
parents, seven siblings, and Lynn Nash. She is survived by two sons, Kay and
Terry Boulter, Fred Nash's children, LaDene Hoglund, Carol Lund Carr, and Fred
K. Nash; two sisters, Bernice and Arthella Dearing, 25 grandchildren, 72
great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and
nieces. Her family was her first love and concern, then neighbors and friends.
She loved life and enjoyed studying the gospel principles and helping others
to be happy. Funeral services will be held Wed., Nov. 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at
the Manila Ninth Ward Chapel, 1270 W. 3540 N. in Pleasant Grove. Friends may
call Tues., Nov. 16, 2004 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495
S. State St. in Orem and also 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the ward chapel prior

Ruth Bunnell (Griggs) Olson (Bun ) 1908 ~ 2004  Ruth Bunnell Griggs Olson
passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2004 in Tooele, Utah. She was born June 1,
1908 in Alta, Wyoming the oldest child of George Clarence Griggs and Martha
Jane Cooper. She married Kenneth Olson May 1, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He
preceded her in death Apri129, 1993. She is survived by a son, Kenneth L.
(Faye) Olson of St. George, Utah; two daughters, Mona R. Bottema of Tooele,
Utah, and Sue (Rick) Quinn of Sparks, Nevada; eight grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by
one grandson, her brother, and sister. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m.
Monday, November 15, 2004 at Tate Mortuary in Tooele, Utah. A visitation at
the mortuary will be held prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment
will take place at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah following the
services.

Painter, Reese
Reese Painter 1913 ~2004  NEPHI- Leslie Reese Painter, age 91, our loving
father and grandfather, passed away peacefully November 12, 2004 at his home
in Nephi, Utah surrounded by his children and grandchildren as he went home to
the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and his eternal companion. He was born
May 24, 1913 in Levan, Utah to Charles Alfred and Persis Hughgene Rudd
Painter.  He spent his early years in Levan and attended the Levan School. He
worked with his father on the family farm and also on the WPA. In 1941 he was
one of the first young men drafted into the Army from the Juab area. He served
in World War II as a Medic at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.  He married Maxine
Sperry on June 13, 1942 at Fort Lewis, Washington. Upon his release from the
army, they returned home to Levan. The marriage was later solemnized in the
Manti LDS Temple on June 13, 1959. He was one of the original founders of the
Painter Motor Company, which was started in 1945. He and his brother Fred
worked together for many years. Painter Motor is still in business today.
Reese worked on the Utah State Road for 14 years. He enjoyed working with the
men and made lasting friendships with them. After his retirement he continued
to farm, raise cattle and restore vintage cars. One of his favorite pastimes
was restoring old homes with his sons and grandsons. Dad loved his
grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent many hours reading, playing
cards and coloring with them. He was the patriarch of a very special family
and was respected by all of us.  Dad was an active member of the LDS church
and served in many callings. Survived by his five children, Blair (Susan),
Duane (Diana), Donna (Loren) Callaway, Robert (Beverly), and Kathryn all of
Nephi; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his
wife Maxine of 59 years, parents, brothers, Fred, LaRaine, Henry, Charles;
sisters, Sadie Bowers, Nina Chappel, Deon Phillipsen and Edna Painter. A
special thanks to Janet Johnson for the care she provided our father. Her
kindness will forever be appreciated. Additional thanks to Eileen Edwards, and
the home health care and hospice providers. Thank you, Natalie and Jaxton for
all the help and joy you brought to dad. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 in the Nephi 8th Ward, 222 S. 100 E. Friends may
call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N.
and at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the
Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.

Helen Stroud Potts 1916 ~ 2004  Helen, 88, passed away November 11, 2004 in
Salt Lake City. Born January 12, 1916, to Luther A. and Jeannette Wilson
Stroud, in Salt Lake City. Married Olaf Potts; later divorced. Helen was loved
by children, and everyone who knew her. She suffered many afflictions and kept
her humility, sense of humor and dignity. She was preceded in death by her
parents; sister, Ruth; brothers, Allen and William Glenn; and nephew, Scott
Lewis. Survived by sister, Myrtle Stroud Beckstead; brother, Dean K. (Enid)
Stroud; sister-in-law, Dora B. Stroud; and many nieces and nephews. We extend
sincere thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Villa for their loving kindness
and care. Funeral services will be held at the 26thWard Chapel, 500 South 1100

Rosenlof, Walter Arno
Walter Arno Rosenlof 1928 ~ 2004  Walter Arno Rosenlof, 76, passed away
peacefully on Nov. 12, 2004.  Walter was born on March 15, 1928 in the Sanpete
Valley town of Moroni, Utah. He was the oldest child of his parents, Walter
Arno Rosenlof and Pearl Elizabeth Jolley.  The small, two-room Jolley family
home is where Walter was born. Pearl's mother and a midwife assisted with the
delivery. Walter was very fond of his memories of growing up in the central
Utah towns of Moroni, Eureka and Payson. Those younger years of outdoor
activities and frugal living stayed with him all his life. He worked hard in
the farms and fields and he excelled in sports. His favorite memories are of
hunting and fishing with his father, his children and his extended family.
Walter served in the Navy for two years just after World War II. At his
Gunner's Position on the USS Missouri one morning, he met and shook hands with
President Truman. His career was spent as an accountant and as the Accounting
Manager for McKesson and Robbins. In his retired years, he traveled all over
the States with Shirley and enjoyed seeing new places and meeting new friends.
His love of the Gospel led him to be a quiet but faithful servant in many
callings in the church. Walter married Shirley Olson Rosenlof on June 8, 1951.
They were blessed with five children. Walter's children, his grandchildren and
his great-grandchildren were a source of great joy for him in his life.  He is
preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley, and their fourth child,
Clifford. Walter looked forward to the day when he would be reunited with
Shirley and Clifford.  Walter is survived by his children, Marilyn Russell
(Stan), W. Bruce Rosenlof (Shauna), Scott A. Rosenlof (Marianne) and Jennifer
Heaps (Rob). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 39
great-grandchildren. His surviving siblings are Betty Ewell (Walt) and Kent
Rosenlof (Tina). His parents and his younger sister JoAnn Rowe (Mel) have
preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at
11:00 a.m. at Cottonwood 3rd Ward, 6301 South 2300 East. Friends and family
may call Monday at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive from
7:00-8:30 p.m. and at the ward one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers,
the family suggests donations be made to the Church Missionary Fund. The
family wishes to thank all those that have been a part of Walter's joyful

Smith Jr., John Franklin
John Franklin Smith, Jr. 1920 ~ 2004  PRICE - John Franklin Smith, Jr., passed
away November 11, 2004, of natural causes inherent to age. He was born March
8, 1920 in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania to John F. and Clara Steinly Smith.John
served in the United States Army during World War II. On July 29, 1944, he
married his sweetheart Myr-tle Irene Shaffer. They lived in Je-rome, PA, where
John worked as a machinist and preparation plant foreman. In 1957 they moved
to Hiawa-tha, UT where John worked as preparation plant supervisor and general
mine superintendent for U.S. Fuel Company. He retired in 1982 and built a home
in Carbonville where he lived until his death. Throughout his life, John and
Myrtle enjoyed traveling throughout the country, visiting relatives and seeing
sites along the way. They loved square dancing, playing cards, and spending
time with grandchildren. John was fascinated by anything mechanical, enjoyed
working with his hands, was a fine woodworker, and a skilled mechanic who
actively participated in car repairs for his family.  Member of the Price
United Methodist Church. Member Joppa Lodge # 26 F. & A.M. for over 44 years,
where he was also a member of the Price Chapter # 6, Royal Arch Masons,
Solomon Council # 4, Cryptic Masons, Charles Fred Jennings Commandary # 6,
York Rite Freemasonry and a Shriner. John was very proud and supportive of his
grandsons who served missions for the LDS Church. Survived by his wife,
Myrtle; sons, John F. (Ina) Smith, III, Samuel J. (Sharron) Smith; daughter,
Janet I. (Grant) Smith Laws; sister, Ruth Smith Lehman; brother, Donald Merle
Smith; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss
him greatly. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Dale Smith; and
sister, Ethel Marie Smith Martin. Funeral service, Monday, November 15, 2004,
11 a.m., Price United Methodist Church. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral
Home Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. and at the church Monday one hour prior to

Kent Linford Smith 1978 ~2004  Our beloved son, brother, father, uncle and
friend passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 at his home in Murray. He is
survived by his son, Jordan James Smith, parents Marilyn and Duane Smith,
sisters Valerie (Jeff) Maw, Angie (Rob) Perry; brother Kirk Smith; also
survived by his niece Hadley, nephews Gunner, little Rob, and many more aunts,
uncles, cousins, grandparents and friends. Preceded in death by his grandma,
Faye  Bennion Smith.  Kent was cheerful and loving and made people laugh
everywhere he went. He was loved by everyone that knew him and he will be
missed everyday. His favorite pastime was mountain biking, but Kent's greatest
love was his son Jordan. The family ask that in lieu of flowers donations be
made to a trust fund in Jordan's name at any Washington Mutual. Funeral
Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Country Cross 6th Ward,

Thompson, Daryn Kenneth
Daryn Kenneth Thompson #25  Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle
and friend returned to his Heavenly Father on Nov. 10, 2004, at his home after
a short illness. Born December 28, 1964 in Salt Lake City, a son of Ken and
Robyn Penrose Thompson. Married Colleen Smith, a daughter of Richard N. and
Alice O. Smith, on June 6, 1990 in the Salt Lake Temple. Daryn attended
Adelaide Elementary, South Davis Jr. High and Woods Cross High, and graduated
from the University of Phoenix. Daryn served faithfully in the New York
Spanish speaking mission. Daryn loved serving the Lord in his many callings,
most recently as the Ward Clerk in the Copper Hills 1st Ward. Daryn's sense of
humor and sweet personality were prominent as he lived each day to the
fullest. He loved special dates with his wife, and spending time with his
children; playing catch and wrestling with Tyson, Brady and Spencer, and
dancing with his "baby kitty" Ashley. Daryn was talented in sports and enjoyed
playing baseball, basketball and fast-pitch softball "GO REBELS". Daryn
enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and scouting trips with the Young Men.
Survived by his wife Colleen and children: Tyson 11, Brady 6, Spencer 5,
Ashley "Sweetie" 3«;; parents; brothers and sisters: Vicky (Rodger) Troth,
Michael (Jennifer), Terri (Rob) James, Rick (Jennifer); Colleen's parents;
brothers and sisters-in-law: Carolyn (Randy) Griffin, Janel (Scott) Coffman,
Paul, Yvonne (Matthew) Mayberry, and Mark (Erin). Preceded in death by brother

Birger Johan Veblungsnes 1931 ~ 2004 Birger Johan Veblungsnes unexpectedly
passed away Nov. 12, 2004. Birger was born in Oslo, Norway March 9, 1931 to
Hjalmar Andreas Veblungsnes and Asta Ingeborg Strand. Birger joined the LDS
Church in Norway September 1, 1946. Birger then immigrated to Utah at the age
of 18 with his 16 year old brother, Odd Herman. Birger held many church
callings and his testimony of the church remained strong. Birger is survived
by his wife, Faye; five children, Elizabeth (Byron) Garner, Sylvia (Paul)
Braunberger, Sharon (LaVarre) Walter, Susan (Keyth) Stevenson, John Larry
(Paula) Veblungsnes; brother, Odd Herman; 17 grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren; also five cousins in Norway; family and friends. Birger
was preceded in death by both parents, and one granddaughter. Birger was an
honorable father, son, brother, and grandfather. Funeral services will be held
Monday, November 15, 2004, 1 p.m. at the Taylorsville Whitewood Ward, 3555

Wayne L. Wallace 1956 ~ 2004  Wayne Loyd Wallace , age 48, passed away
November 11, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah due to complications following an
accident. Born May 21, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to Homer L. Wallace, Jr. and
Treva Lance Hales. Married Connie Douglas May 20, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Wayne "Gator" graduated from Dugway High School in 1974. He worked in the
petroleum industry for many years. Survived by his wife; his mother; and
stepfather, Doug Hales; a brother, Bruce (Debra); a nephew and two nieces; two
stepbrothers; a stepsister; and his beloved pet, Wiley. Preceded in death by
his father, and a stepbrother. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday,
November 17, 10 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South,

Wells, Lorene Ryburn
Lorene Ryburn Wells 1962 ~ 2004  Lorene passed away peacefully at her home
Wed. November 10, 2004. She was born December 18, 1962 to Bob and June Ryburn
in SLC, UT. She attended West High and the U of U, and was a manager at
Smith's Food & Drug. Lorene is survived by her beloved husband, Bryan Wells;
stepson, Robert; parents; sister, Diane (Floyd) Edwards; their children,
Robert, Alicia, Michelle, Janice, and Nathan; brother, Frank (Debbie) Ryburn.
Funeral services for Lorene will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2004, 1 p.m.
at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call Tuesday
evening, from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the
services. The evening of the funeral, from 7-10 p.m., friends will gather in
celebration of her life at Urban Bistro, 216 East 500 South. Please send

bright light in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

Widerburg, Florence "Bobby"
Florence "Bobby" Widerburg Our Beloved Mother and Grandmother  Our Beloved
mother and grandmother passed on to be with her Father in Heaven November 12,
2004. She was born July 20, 1917 to Herman and Nellie Wayland Vorwaller in
Tooele, Utah. She married Ralph E. Widerburg June 26, 1936; later solemnized
in the Salt Lake Temple. He died November 1986. She was a lifelong resident of
Cottonwood. She is survived by three children, Joyce (Larry) Collins of Palm
Springs, CA, Gerald "Gary" (Gloria) Widerburg of St. George, UT, and Judy
Broadhead of Salt Lake City, UT; seven grandsons, Gary Lynn Widerburg of
Ogden, Stephen Widerburg of Tooele, Danny Widerburg of Salt Lake City, Kelly
Collins of Riverside, CA, Troy, Bobby, and Kenny Broadhead of Salt Lake City;
five great-grandsons; three great-grand daughters; and special longtime
friend, Delbert Johnson of Salt Lake City. Graveside services will be held
Tuesday, November 16, 2004, 11 a.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine St.
A viewing will be held Monday, November 15, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at
Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., and Tuesday from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
