He was born November 16, 1916 in Salt Lake City, the son of Louis and Alice Gygi Buhrley. He was raised in Salt Lake City, where he attended West High School. He served an LDS mission in Brazil from 1936-1939. On July 1, 1940 Louis married Helen Williams Moon. Lou and Helen moved to Huntsville, Utah and there began to raise their family and form many lasting, eternal friendships. Lou surprised many when he adapted so well to country living. He loved his farm and enjoyed the time he spent working side by side with his children and grandchildren. His dream was to have all of his children build homes on the farm. He spent nearly 30 years as a bus driver for Weber County Schools to supplement the family income. It was through his bus driving experiences that he left an impact on many young people who appreciated his kindness and concern for their welfare. Neighbors and friends were benefited by his many acts of selfless service. Lou served faithfully in many capacities in the LDS Church. He served with the Young Men, Sunday School, bishopric counselor, and bishop. He and Helen were also ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple until they were called to serve a mission to Munich, Germany in 1985. He became ill while serving this mission and spent the last 19 years in the loving care of his wife and eternal companion. Lou is survived by his wife, Helen; four sons, Louis (Joan) Buhrley, Max (Lola) Buhrley, Roger Buhrley, Ron (Karen) Buhrley; and three daughters, Kathy (Bob) Buswell, Lynne (Greg) Graves, and Julie (Kerry) Wahlen. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, 11 a.m. at Huntsville 2ndWard, 277 South 7400 East, Hunts-ville, Utah. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North 2100 East, and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., at the church. Hansen, Ruby Val Tucker Ruby Val Tucker Hansen 1915 ~ 2004 Ruby Hansen peacefully passed away September 28, 2004. Born February 14, 1915 in Fair-view, Utah. Daughter of Francis Marion Tucker and Mary Malinda Peterson. Married her dear husband, Keith Stewart Hansen October 3, 1934 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ruby lived a life of dedicated service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in the Fairview North and Third Wards in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations. She was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. Ruby served and supported her husband in his many civic and church callings throughout their marriage. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Sanpete County 4-H Advisory Council. Ruby left this earthly life with a rich legacy of love as she served others with kindness and hospitality. She had an honest soul and a vibrant heart. She was a strong example to her three children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Ruby was a determined and delicate woman who loved to quilt, garden, arrange flowers, and cook. She often gathered her loved ones around her kitchen table for traditions and family gatherings. She taught her family the importance of feeding a soul through a warm cooked meal. Ruby truly knew how to love people by taking the time to care for them and be with them. She will be remembered by her grandchildren for her home, as it was always a safe haven filled with warmth and care. Ruby is survived by her loving daughter, Dixie Robbins (David) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and son, Larry Hansen (LeAnn) of Fairview, Utah; daughter-in-law, DeAnna Hansen (Mt. Pleasant, Utah; brother, Ralph (Mar-cia) Tucker of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters, Donna Winters of Ogden, Utah, Elna Christensen of Wisconsin. She will be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith S. Hansen; and her son, Gerald Keith Hansen; three brothers, Winn Tucker, Floyd Tucker, and Jack Tucker; and sisters, Clea Erikson and Una Lee Gustin. Holmes, Donna West Donna WestHolmes 1922 ~ 2004 Donna West Holmes, age 82, beautiful wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sweet sister, was born the 16th day of March, 1922 in Hoytsville, Utah to Rulon R. and Flora E. West, the first of five children. She passed away peacefully the 2ndday of October, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah of causes incident to old age. Donna lived her early childhood in Rock Springs, Wyoming and Morgan, Utah where her father operated several successful businesses. She moved to Salt Lake City as a teenager where she graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. In 1943 she moved, with her fianc‚ LeRoy Holmes to Tyler, Texas where he was attending Officer Training School with the U.S. Army prior to shipping out for France. They were married within days of arrival in Tyler Sunday, August 8, 1943. (The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple). Shortly after her marriage, Roy left for the European theater and fought in France and Germany until the end of World War II in 1945. When he returned, Roy and Donna moved to the San Francisco Bay area where they set up house while he attended UC Berkeley. She gave birth to the first of five children at the Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland in 1948 and began her calling as a mother and homemaker a calling which she took seriously and fulfilled faithfully and steadfastly all of her life. Donna loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She served as music director and chorister in her Bountiful 9th Ward for many, many years and sang in the choir. She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her parents, Rulon and Flora West; sisters, Ruth W. Francis and Betty W. Bills; and son, Gary L. Holmes. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Olsen (Lynn), Sandy, Utah; her brother, Terry West (Cheryl) Springdale, Utah; her sons, Michael R. Holmes, Bountiful, Utah, Robert S. Holmes, (Cindi), West Bountiful, Utah, Paul D. Holmes, (Joan), Woods Cross, Utah; and daughter, Karen Child, (James), West Bountiful, Utah. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will forever remember her with love and warmth. A special thanks to Jan and the wonderful folks at the Orchard Cove Care Center for their unfailing and loving care during her last months. Jager, Margaret Christine Festin Margaret Christine Festin Jager Beloved Friend Margaret C. Jager, 91, slipped peacefully away in the early morning hours of October 2, 2004 at the Highland Care Center after a brief period of failing health. She was born in Ogden, Utah Aug. 26, 1913 to Daniel and Magda Pettersen Festin, the oldest of five children. She married her sweetheart, Harry P. Jager June 16, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After 44 years, they are finally together again. She was a steadfast member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in many callings, but she especially enjoyed her 25 years in the M.I.A. She was still serving as a Visiting Teacher Supervisor until the last several months of her life. In spite of great hardships through the years, Margaret loved life. She made friends wherever she went and always had something to look forward to-trips to Carmel-by-the-Sea, Swiss Days, Greek Festival, the State Fair, staying over at Little America so she could see the 24th of July Parade, and outings with family and friends. She also enjoyed being an associate member of the Dairy Meadows DUP. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and her country, her sparkling blue eyes, her wit and sense of humor, excellent cooking, her strong Scandinavian will and determination, her love of books and her undying service to others. She is survived by her son, David A. Jager (Mary); and daughter, Lynne Gabrielsson (Carl); four grandchildren, Shaun Jager, Becky Ferre, Jeff Jager, and Daniel Gabrielsson; nine great-grandchildren; and her loving "adopted daughters," Pam Mathisen Griffin, Larina Mary Sohn, and Linda Festin Terry (niece). Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl and Stanley; sisters, Ellen and Emma; husband, Harry; and daughter, Carol. Walters, Dora Jean Barkle Dora Jean Barkle Walters 9/25/1910 ~ 10/2/2004 Our mother, grandmother, and aunt passed away and went to a family reunion that she has been looking forward to for a long time. Her parents, four brothers, three sisters, a husband and two children, and many, many friends will be there to greet her. Jean was born in Thatcher, Utah to Frederick Barkle and Rozina Brough Barkle. Many weekends were spent in Tremonton and Providence where most of her family members were living. She endured much heartache and physical pain throughout her life, but never complained. Her favorite saying was "It could be worse." She is survived by two sons, Dee Walters, Lynn Walters (Debbie); and a daughter, Karen Keller; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Hearts of Hospice and the wonderful ladies at the Beehive Home in Sandy for all their care and love they gave to our mother. Warden, Dan Martin Dan Martin Warden 1932 ~ 2004 BOUNTIFUL - Dan Martin Warden, 72, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2004 at his home in Bountiful, Utah.Dan was born July 16, 1932 in Lehi, Utah the son of Francis Martin and Nellie Elizabeth Patrick Warden. He married Pauline Vera Panter February 23, 1952 in Beckingham, Kent, England; she passed away January 31, 1992. He married Betty Sue Thurston October 22, 1993 in Farm-ington, Utah. He lived in Lehi until 1950 when he joined the Army Air Force and lived in England until 1952 moving back to Utah. Dan worked at the Tribune Newspaper as a technician and was a member of the United International Typographical Union #115. Dan was a member of the LDS Church, he enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Betty; and children, Daryl (Tana) Warden, David Warden, George (Nikki) Warden, Debbie (Rory) Neale, Julie (Jason) Tonge, Leanne Thurston, Mike (Nancee) Thurston, Rod (Michelle) Thurston, Rick (Roxanne) Thurston, Mark (Sue) Thurston; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert, Jack, Tom, and Jim Warden; and three sisters, Peg Fawcett, Virginia Pectol, and Donna Adams. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Warden; son, Kelly Thurston; and grandson, Josh Thurston.
