Barnes Jr., Lawrence V.
Lawrence V. Barnes Jr. Soldier-Rancher-Builder  Val Barnes, born March 25,
1925, died Oct. 28, 2004 of natural causes.  Val is survived by his wife (of
57 years) Margie; son, Larry (Sharon) Barnes of Riverton, Utah; one brother,
Joseph Barnes; four grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, Lance, and Katy; and two
great-grandchildren. Val was born to Lawrence and Leone Barnes in Salt Lake
City, graduated from West High School, and entered World War II where he flew
31 combat missions with the 384th Bomb Group. Val then married Margie Johnson,
and then moved to Fillmore, Utah, where he farmed and ranched for 25 years. In
1973 he moved to Salt Lake City, where the remainder of his working career was
spent in the building trades. Dad, we will miss you; however, we will soon be
on the farm together.  You were our hero. Graveside services will be held
Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, 12 noon at the Fillmore City, UT. Cemetery.

Beckstead, Wayne Wilford
Wayne WilfordBeckstead 1915 ~ 2004  Wayne Wilford Beckstead, 89 years of age,
died peacefully, at home surrounded by his family, October 25, 2004. Wayne was
born May 26, 1915 in South Jordan Utah, to Alfred Ray Beckstead and Sarah
Webb. He married Murhl Pease October 21, 1933. That marriage was later
solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She died in 2002. He was a faithful and
active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In later
years he and Murhl were fortunate to serve in the California, Anaheim Mission
from March of 1982 to March 1983. Wayne made friends easily and enjoyed
talking to people. He worked for the Jewel Tea Company during his early years
and was a District Manager living in Sacramento, Redding and Los Angeles
California. Wayne served in the Coast Guard during World War II in the
Philippines as a radioman 3rd class. He worked for the Post Office for 31
years, retiring as the senior window clerk at the Murray Post Office.  Dad
enjoyed hunting and fishing. Many times he could be found fishing with his
grandchildren, at Strawberry Reservoir. He loved to salmon fish in Idaho with
his son Dallas and friend Herb Riley, and was an accomplished outdoorsman. He
was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, brothers, sisters and one
granddaughter, Mandy. He is survived by his son Dallas (Lois Ann), eight
grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, and by his sisters Mada (Carl Demille)
and Lova (Royce) Allen, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be
held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2004 at the Parkway 3rd Ward, 10200
South 3200 West. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at
the Lake Hills Memorial Estates Chapel, 10055 S. State Street, Sandy and at
the church one hour before the funeral service. Interment, with full military
honors, will be at the South Jordan City Cemetery.

Cottam, Sheila Gertrude Winters
Sheila Gertrude Winters Cottam 1923 ~ 2004  Sheila Gertrude Winters Cottam, 81
of Springville, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004.  She was born June 30,
1923 in Garland, Utah, daughter of Alvin and Emma Somers Winters.  Sheila was
raised in Hoytsville and graduated from North Summit High School and then
graduated from Holy Cross Hospital of Nursing. She worked in Summit Co.
Hospital in Coalville and as public health nurse for Summit Co. She worked for
30 years at UVRMC.   Sheila served a mission in Northern California from
1947-1948. She married Byron Lorin Cottam on March 30, 1949 in the Salt Lake
Temple and moved to Springville in 1955. She was active in the LDS Church and
taught in many auxiliaries and served as an ordinance worker in the Provo
Temple. She is survived by her husband Byron L. Cottam of Springville; sons
Robert (Pat) of Spanish Fork and Lorvin (Geraldine) of Price; grandchildren
Brian (Bianca) Cottam of Santaquin; Alison (Keith) Norman of Springville;
Travis Cottam of Price; Justin Cottam of Price; Cory (Adri) Cottam of Cedar
City; Kristi (Jordan) Leon of Price; and Jake Cottam of Price;
great-grandchildren Dalton, Kylie, Braxton, Emmalee, Joyce and Kodi. She was
preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Funeral services will be
held Monday, November 1, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 1440 East 900
South in Springville. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville and Monday at the
church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville

Dyches, Claone J.
Claone J. Dyches 1920 ~ 2004  MAGNA - Our beloved wife, mother, and
grandmother, Claone Johnson Dyches passed away October 28, 2004 in West Valley
City, Utah.  She was born January 12, 1920 in Monroe, Utah to Howard Maine and
Ethel Davies Johnson. She graduated from South Sevier High School where she
served as student-body president. Married H. Thomas Dyches September 17, 1940
in the Manti LDS Temple. Claone served in many LDS church callings. She worked
as a legal secretary at the Utah State Capital, and with her husband, Tom at
Dyches' Pharmacy in Magna. She was an avid painter and very musically
talented, playing the oboe, clarinet, and piano. She was a member of the Lady
Lions and served as PTA President. With her friends she enjoyed playing
bridge, golfing, painting, and bowling. There was nothing she could not do.
She dearly loved her grandchildren, friends, neighbors, and her cats. Survived
by her husband, Tom; children, Tom Dyches Jr., Kathy (Rod) Collings, and Kim
(Cindy) Dyches; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; twin sister, Ione Strother; sisters, Vivian Bowman
and JaNell Padley; brother, Monte Davies; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Juanita Dyches. Funeral
services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Magna Stake
Center, 3084 South 8400 West. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral
Home, 8525 West 2700 South, and Tuesday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.

Ferrin, Gretchen L. Greenlee
Gretchen L. Greenlee Ferrin 1916 ~ 2004  Gretchen passed away peacefully on
October 26, 2004 in Salt Lake City, from natural causes following a stroke.
She was born March 13, 1916 in Heavener, Oklahoma, the first child of Victor
Sylvester Greenlee and Luella Pannell Greenlee. After graduating from
Springville High School where she enjoyed performing in theatrical
productions, she moved to Salt Lake and worked as an office worker for the
state government. She married Joseph M. Ferrin in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on
November 25, 1938. He died August 7, 1984. She loved her home, remodeling
antique furniture and collecting dolls. Her hobby was buying and selling
collectible dolls. She loved going out to dinner with her children, and loved
visits with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and neighbors. Survived by her
children, Joyce Ann Munguia, Scott Ferrin, and David Ferrin (Nancy); four
grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister Betty Rawlings; and
numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, November 1, 2004
at 11:00 a.m. in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Chapel, 2350 E. 1300 So., where family
and friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services.
Interment Larkin Sunset Lawn.

Foster, Margaret Berneice
Margaret Berneice Foster 6/10/11 ~ 10/28/04  Margaret Berneice Winn Foster
passed away October 28, 2004 in West Jordan, Utah.  She was born June 10, 1911
in Lehi, Utah to Charles H. and Mary E. Yates Winn. Married Kenneth Earl
Foster, June 19, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple. She lived in Bingham Canyon and
Copperton, Utah. Berneice was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving for
many years in the Primary, MIA, Sunday School and Relief Society in many
positions. She was a visiting teacher for 60 years, served as a Temple Worker,
and sang in the ward choir. Berneice was also a member of the DUP. She was a
peacemaker, loved her family and neighbors and especially loved babies and
children. Berneice was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She
was a hard worker and an excellent homemaker, cook and seamstress and she
created beautiful handiwork and crafted many quilts. She helped support her
grandchildren on their missions. Berneice enjoyed fishing, camping and
picnicking in the mountains. She learned to drive a car at age 12 and still
had a driver's license in her purse. Survived by a son, Kenneth Wynne (Karen)
Foster; a daughter, Sharlene (Grant) Pullan; 11 grandchildren; 37
great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her
husband, parents, brother Elwin, and sisters, Elva, Flossie, Lola and Iola.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2004 at 12 noon in the
Midvale 4th Ward Chapel, 7825 S. Olympus St. (220 West), Midvale, Utah.
Viewing Sunday, Oct. 31st at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, from 6-8 p.m.
and at the ward Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City

Hansen, Betty Mitchell
Betty MitchellHansen 1929 ~ 2004  Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and
sister, Betty Mitchell Hansen, 75, died Oct. 27, 2004 at her home surrounded
by her loving family. Born April l4, l929 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Alfred
Preston and Alida Justesen Mitchell. Married Eldon Harry Hansen Oct. l3, l950
in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti Temple. 
Active in the L.D.S. Church, Betty will be remembered by her Christ like love
for everyone, and her family is so grateful for that.  Survived by her
husband, and children Marcie (James) Taylor, Denice (Scott) Osborne, Natalie
(John) Kildew and Angie (Mike) Whiting; 12 grandchildren, six
great-grand-children; brothers Glen A Mitchell and Marlin Mitchell.  Special
thanks to Dr. Barbara Rizzardi and Staff, and the Staff of Vista Care for
their loving care.  Funeral Services will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at the
Riverton 3rd Ward, 12852 So. 3200 W. Friends may call Sunday eve from 6-8 p.m.
at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W. and on Monday one hour prior
at the church. Interment in the Riverton Cemetery.

Hartle, Dona Bigelow
Dona Bigelow Hartle 1920 ~ 2004  VERNAL, UT - Dona Bigelow Hartle, age 84,
wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, and
great-great-grand-mother, passed away peacefully, Oct. 28, 2004, at her home
in Lapoint, UT surrounded by her loving family, of natural causes.  She was
born January 15, 1920 in Vernal, UT to George Franklin and Lillian Hair
Bigelow. She married Charles Kenneth Hartle on June 1, 1937 in Lapoint, UT and
they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Aug. 10,
1937. Dona and Ken had eight children who were her most important treasure in
this life. Her family was always her number one priority, and she always
supported her children and grandchildren in their activities. She loved to
keep a very clean house and loved to cook for her family, but she also found
time to work with Ken on the ranch. She was a member of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as the ward organist in the Lapoint
Ward for over 25 years. She had also served in the Primary, Relief Society,
and MIA. Dona is survived by her children: Keith K. (Carma), Lapoint; Max F.
(Beverly), Glenwood, UT; Jay B. (Lois), Lapoint; Don M. (Patricia),
Wellsville, UT; Glen (Dixie), Lapoint, UT; Reed D. (Rita), Lapoint, UT; Kenna
Dee (Jay) Hurren, Weston, ID; and LeeAnn H (Leon) Richens, Lapoint, UT. Her
posterity includes 36 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, one
great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters: Nelda Wilkins,
Roosevelt, UT; and Beth Perry, Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded in death
by her husband, parents, a sister, Lela Hullinger, a grandson, Duane Hartle,
and a great-grandson, Christopher Johnson. Funeral services will be held on
Monday, Nov. 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lapoint LDS chapel. Friends may call
on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Spafford Funeral Home, 224 E. 500 S.,
in Vernal, and on Monday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the chapel in Lapoint.
Interment will be in the Lapoint Cemetery under direction of the Spafford
Funeral Home.

Ingebrigtsen, Magdalon
Magdalon (Ingy) Ingebrigtsen "Boss "  Our loving husband, father, grandfather
and friend, Magdalon Ingebrigtsen, passed away on October 27, 2004. Born
February 13, 1916 in Bergen, Norway, son of Leonard and Dagny Bianca Larsen
Ingebrigtsen. Married Inga Henriette Osterboe September 7, 1940 in Norway;
solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple February 21, 1950. Member of the LDS
Church. With his wife, served two LDS missions to Norway and was instrumental
in the formation of the Norwegian Branch. Retired from Kennecott Copper
Corporation and was a member of the Scandia Male Chorus. He is survived by his
loving wife, Inga; children Marion (Hans) Olsen, Rigmor (Fred) Nelson, Frank
(Barbara) Ingebrigtsen; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Preceded in
death by daughter, Eva Karin; son, Leo; two granddaughters, one grandson;
brother, Henry; sister, Leonny. Funeral services will be held Monday, November
1, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Parliament Park Ward, 1510 West Parliament Avenue
(3925 South). Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330
South Redwood Road and at the Church Monday 11-11:40 a.m.. Interment, Elysian
Burial Gardens.

Jones, Matthew S.
Matthew S. Jones "1957 ~ 2004"  Matthew Stewart Jones beloved son, father and
brother returned to his Father in Heaven October 27, 2004. Matt was born on
June 14, 1957 in Salt Lake City to Robin Sellick Jones and Milton Jones. He
graduated from Granite High School in 1975 and attended Dixie College in St.
George Utah. In 1978 he met and married Marjean Cowdell with whom he had three
beautiful children. Matt chose a career in the power tool industry and
co-founded M&M Tool in 1986 where he remained employed until the time of his
death. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends and was known
by all for his sweet and generous spirit. Without him our lives are forever
changed. He is survived by his wife Marjean, daughter Kimberly (Andrew)
Decker, and sons Casey and Parker, his parents and sister Jill, and brother
Scott (Sherrie) Jones, nephews Levi and Jake Jones. Funeral services will be
Monday Nov. 1st 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary 260 East South Temple where friends
may call on Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service. Interment:
Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Knudson, Margaret McPhie
Margaret McPhie Knudson 9/23/27 ~ 10/26/04  Our wonderful mother, wife, sister
and grandmother, Margaret McPhie Knudson passed away October 26, 2004 after an
extended illness. She was born September 23, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Daniel
and Mary McPhie. She married Al Knudson, September 13, 1951. Margaret was
proud of the fact that she played the bagpipes and was one of the youngest
members of the Utah Pipe Band at age 12. She continued to perform throughout
the state with her brother and sisters. She graduated from the University of
Utah with a degree in Speech Therapy where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega
Sorority. She enjoyed singing in the Alpha Chi Omega Quartet for four years.
Qwest Communications provided her with a long career in management and she
developed many life long friendships. She also volunteered her time in the
PTA, Cub Scouts and was the Junior Sunday School pianist for ten years.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Al, children Scott
(Karol) Knudson, Laurie (Woody) Cannon, Mark (Vicki) Knudson, adored
grandchildren Erin, Spencer and Taylor Cannon, Alex Knudson, sister Mary
Wilkins, brothers Joe McPhie, Gary (Janet) McPhie, brother-in-law Lamarr
(Sandra) Burton, sisters-in-law Lyn (Boyd) Bible, Darlene Knudson and numerous
nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Bessie McPhie
Burton. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2004, 12:00 noon,
Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT. Friends
and family may visit Sunday evening 5-7 p.m. and Monday 11 a.m.-12:00 noon
prior to services at the mortuary. Internment will be in the Wasatch Lawn
Memorial Park. We will miss this great lady!

Kunz, Velta Brooksby
Velta BrooksbyKunz 1921 ~ 2004  Velta Brooksby Kunz, wife, mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at
the age of 83 at her home. She was born on May 27, 1921 in Fredonia, Arizona
to Alfred and Vida Judd Brooksby. She married Herbert L. Kunz on April 9, 1946
in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children. Velta was
active in the LDS church and held positions in the Primary, Relief Society and
other organizations. Velta served a mission to the Western States Mission. Her
time was spent in Denver, CO., and Thermopolis, WY. She served during Word War
II so spent a longer time in the mission field than the usual 18 months. Velta
enjoyed travel. She and her husband had the opportunity to see Australia and
New Zealand. In later years they traveled the Snowbird circuit through Arizona
and spent several winters in St. George.  She is survived by her husband of 58
years, Herbert; sons Neldon, Floyd, and Kevin, six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren, brother Wayne Brooksby, sisters Reva Swapp, Myrtle Judd
and Eulamae Bryner. She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Eldene,
brother, Marvin Brooksby and granddaughter, Jennifer Kunz Murray.  Funeral
services will be held on Monday, Nov. 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairoaks Ward
Chapel at 586 E. 8400 S. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St.,
Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers the
family suggests contributions in memory of her granddaughter, Jennifer, to the
Scleroderma Foundation at 12 Kent Way, Suite 101, Byfield, MA 01922. The
family is very appreciative of the care and support given by CareSource
Hospice during Velta's final days.

McClunie, Andrew Paul
Andrew Paul McClunie 1957 ~ 2004  Andrew Paul McClunie, born 2Feb. 4, 1957 in
New York City, died Oct. 27, 2004 in Salt Lake City, UT.  He was the beloved
son of Andrew and Agnes McClunie, father of Jaimee Larrecuente and Erik
McClunie. Andy was the brother of Aileen Cartlidge and Alen McClunie. Andy's
light shined brightly on the world and he will be missed by many family
members and thousands of close friends. He lived his life to the fullest of
human potential. Andy's profound humanity was shared with all who knew him. A
viewing will be held at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, Sat., Oct. 30th from
10 a.m.-11 a.m. A vigil service will be held at 11 a.m. He will be laid to
rest next to his brother on Nov. 3, 2004 at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in
Farmingdale, NY.

Miller, James Everett
James EverettMiller "Shazam"  Our beloved father, grandfather and
great-grandfather, Jimmy died peacefully on October 28, 2004 at his home at
the age of 87.He was born September 2, 1917 in Salt Lake City to Olivia and
Everett Miller. Married Edna Hales on December 18, 1937. She preceded him in
death on July 6, 2002. The great Shazam performed the ultimate disappearing
act, deciding to join his lovely wife, Edna in heaven. He was a member of the
Society of American Magicians, where he served as president for several years.
He was known for one hour shows out of things in his pocket. He served his
country in World War II as a PFC in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was
active in scouting for many years when he was younger. He is survived by two
sons James E. and Richard D.; four grandchildren Chad, Todd, Charity Hotton
(Darren), and Jason; seven great-grandchildren; and brother Michael Just.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Utah
Veteran's Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 So. Camp Williams Road (Redwood Road),
where family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment Utah
Veteran's Memorial Park under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.

Mulliner, Janet Crawford Woodruff
Janet Crawford Woodruff Mulliner 1926 ~2004  Janet Crawford Woodruff Mulliner,
age 77, passed away on Oct. 27, 2004. Janet was born on December 4, 1926, in
Salt Lake City, Utah, born to Alta Crawford and Douglas Woodruff. An East High
School (Salt Lake City, UT) graduate, Janet continued her education earning a
BA in English from the University of Utah and an MA in retail merchandising
from New York University. Janet was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Janet
married Ted Mulliner on August 25, 1950. They moved to Boston where Ted
completed his final year at Harvard Law School. Upon Ted's graduation in 1951,
they returned to Salt Lake City, then moved to the San Francisco Bay area to
pursue Ted's law practice. Together they raised four children and made
significant contributions to the community. Janet was always active in the
PTA, various church organizations, and the Allied Arts Guild in Atherton, CA.
Janet loved literature, fine arts, theater, music, flower arranging,
collecting antiques, gardening, and long walks. She and Ted traveled worldwide
and shared an insatiable curiosity that engaged them together throughout their
lives. Janet was energetically devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Characteristically modest and reserved, Janet was passionate and untiring when
it came to causes she believed in. She had a great sense of humor, a ready
laugh and a smile that warmed those close to her until the last days of her
life. Janet was preceded in death by her husband (1992) and is survived by her
sister Susan Woodruff; her children: Laurie Mulliner Connor (Salt Lake City);
Kiki (Janet) Mulliner (New York); Mimi Mulliner (Curt) McNeely, (Park City);
and  James Mulliner (Salt Lake City); and seven grandchildren: Edward (Ted)
Johnson, Katherine Johnson, Katie Connor, Allie Connor, Lauren McNeely,
Bradley McNeely and Erin McNeely. Graveside services will be held Saturday,
October 30, 2004, at 11:00 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N
Street. Special thanks goes to the staff at Silverado Nursing Home and Hearts
for Hospice who made her last days comfortable, providing support for both her

Joseph Douglas Scott Beloved Father  and Brother  Joseph Douglas Scott, 56
died Oct. 11, 2004 in Renton, Washington.  He was born Nov. 1, 1947 in Salt
Lake City, UT to Austin Miller and Ruth Musser Scott. He married Joanne Nadine
Moench. Joe was a very loving and giving person. He was a member of the LDS
Church. He worked for Boeing Aircraft for 23 years. Survived by his wife, and
children, Mitchell Tyler and Melissa Rose, they were the love of his life, his
mother, seven brothers and five sisters.  Preceded in death by his father and
brother. Graveside services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. Nov. 1, 2004 at the Salt
Lake City Cemetery 4th Ave. and "N" Street. Directors Independent Funeral
Service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Joanne Scott family fund
at Zions Bank.

Stillman, Leland Garn
Leland Garn Stillman 1921 ~2004  Leland Garn Stillman, loving father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend passed away on
October 27, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was 83 years of age.He was born
May 16, 1921, in Salt Lake City, UT to Joseph Julian Stillman and Emma
Osguthorpe Stillman. He married Neva Gene Lemmon on May 4, 1945. Together they
celebrated 58 years of marriage. Neva preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2003.
Leland served as a paratrooper with D Company, 501st Parachute Infantry
Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) in World War II and
fought in the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded twice
in action in France and Belgium. He was decorated with a Combat Infantry
Badge, Parachutist's Badge, Distinguished Unit Badge with one Bronze Cluster,
American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf
Cluster (signifying second award), European African Middle Eastern Campaign
Ribbon with Three Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a
life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Leland was an employee of
Mountain Fuel Supply Company for 30 years as well as operating a television
repair business for many years. He received so much enjoyment from his
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and supported them in their
many endeavors. He was an avid fisherman for many years and enjoyed traveling
with numerous friends. He is survived by daughters Candie (Tom) Angelos,
Denise (Dan) Richins; grandchildren Staci (Paul) Bernhisel, Tommy and Zack
Angelos, Amy (Brian) Oliver and Danica (Brian) Brooks; great-grandchildren
Alexis, Madison and Tyler Bernhisel, Colby and Caden Angelos, and soon to be
born baby boy Oliver. Leland is also survived by his sister Lilian and
brothers Sterling and Clifton. He was preceded in death by his wife Neva,
parents, brothers Milton and Darwin, and sisters Margaret and Gwendolyn. The
family would like to thank the staff of the VA Hospital for all of their
efforts in trying to restore Leland's health. Also, our heartfelt appreciation
to the doctors, nurses, and aids at the Residence of CareSource Hospice for
their loving and compassionate care for Leland and his family. They filled his
final days with peace and dignity and for that the family will be forever
grateful. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 1,
2004, at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S. Friends may call Sunday, Oct.
31, 2004 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr.

Warner, JoAnn Pennington
JoAnn Pennington Warner "Sweet Jodie"  Our beloved wife, mother and
grandmother returned to her Heavenly Home after leaving her family and friends
with a wonderful example of what a positive, kind, caring attitude can
achieve. One of Heaven's angels, Sweet Jodie, passed away at home, Wednesday,
October 27, 2004, after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. Her loving
husband and family surrounded her. Jodie was born February 28, 1933, in
Springville, the daughter of Henry "Harry" and Melba Bate Pennington. She
graduated from Springville High School where she was an Springville High
School Cheerleader. She married Ronald Lynn Warner, August 30, 1951. Their
first home was in San Diego, California, where Ron was stationed in the Navy.
They returned there on their 50th wedding anniversary to be sealed for time
and eternity in the San Diego Temple. She and Ron loved to travel, and
especially enjoyed following their grandkids from one baseball park to another
or one dance recital after another. They traveled the Mormon Trail often and
enjoyed taking family members with them. Lake Powell was one of her favorite
destinations. They went down there on their houseboat with Ron's brother Ray
and his wife Myrl as often as they could. She never forgot a birthday,
anniversary, graduation, or promotion, even in the last days; she was worried
about getting birthday cards to people. She always thought of others first and
herself last. When she was diagnosed with cancer, her first words were "I
don't have time to die" and with that attitude she defied the doctors and
fought for 10 more years to be with her family. She is survived by her loyal
husband, Ron, four children, Michael (LuAnn) Warner, Springville; Pat
(Micheli) Warner, Mapleton; Julie Trotter, Orem; and Keri (Corey) Allen,
Mapleton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Venice Beals,
Springville and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors that are all
better for knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister,
Enid  Rowland. The children would like to thank their dad for his example of
selfless love, care and devotion. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov.
1, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpview 5th Ward, 865 W. 1000 N., Orem. Family
and friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral
Home, 646 E. 800 N., Orem, and prior to the services on Mon., at the church
from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
