Baessler, Siegfried
Siegfried Baessler 1925 ~ 2005 Siegfried Baessler, age 80, passed away April
3, 2005. Born Feb. 15, 1925 in Greenburg, Germany to Ralph and Elizabeth
Reichelt Baessler. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Worked as a salesman for Glade
Candy Company. Survived by brothers Michael of Grantsville, Utah; Carl of West
Valley City; Ralph of St. George, Utah. Private family services will be held.

Barlow, I. Haven
I. Haven Barlow 1914 ~ 2005 LAYTON - Israel Haven Barlow, 90, passed away in
his home April 3, 2005, after a brief illness. He was born September 5, 1914,
in Bountiful, UT, to Edmund and Lucy Garrett Barlow. He grew up in Bountiful
and attended Davis High School. He worked in Santa Monica, CA, until he was
called to serve an LDS mission in Australia. After his mission, Haven married
Velma Elizabeth Kunzler on May 17, 1938. They have been loving companions for
almost 67 years. He owned and operated Mayfair Market and Family Furniture in
Layton for many years. He served as the president of the Layton LDS Stake for
20 years, and thereafter as a sealer in the Ogden LDS Temple and as Layton LDS
Stake Patriarch for 30 years. Haven is survived by his wife, Velma; children
Charles (Laurel) Barlow, Ronald (Nancy) Barlow, Gary (Patricia) Barlow, Yvonne
(Brent) Halls as well as 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by daughters Velma (Tom) Riley and Marilyn Barlow, two
brothers and six sisters. Funeral services will held Friday, April 8, 2005 at
11 a.m. at the West Layton Ward Chapel, 2120 W. Gentile St. Layton, UT.
Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton
Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, UT and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 at

Bayles, Ralph Woolley
Ralph Woolley Bayles "Will Be Missed" Ralph Woolley Bayles, much loved
husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, age 79 passed away April
3, 2005. We will miss him so much. Born September 28, 1925 in Cedar City, Ut
to Herman Evans and Ethel Woolley Bayles. Married Sara Benson on July 2, 1947
in Parowan, Ut. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple.
Ralph was raised in Parowan, Ut. After graduating from Parowan High School, he
was called to serve in the Air Force as a pilot instructor and trainer during
World War II. After his military service, he attended the University of Utah
where he earned his bachelors degree in engineering. He began his career at
Mountain Bell- now Qwest - and worked there for 40 years. Ralph was a faithful
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and Sara served
side by side on a full time mission to Fort Lauderdale, Fl in 1989 and as
temple workers in the Salt Lake Temple for 10 years. Ralph had a strong
testimony of Jesus Christ and His love for us, which he shared often. He loved
to travel. They have made many good friends along their way. Ralph's favorite
past time was playing bridge with anyone up to challenging his skills.
Preceded in death by both parents and only sibling, Alice B. Davis. He is
survived by his wife, Sara, daughters Pam (Randy) Nelson, Holly (Fidel)
DeHart, grandchildren Noelle, Sara (Erik), Craig, Samantha (Eric), Breann and
Morgan, along with 6 3/4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held
Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Canyon Rim 1st Ward, 2980 So.
Grace St. (3100 E.), Salt Lake City, Ut. Family and friends may call at the
Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd (7600 So), Wednesday April 6, 2005 from 6
to 8:00 p.m. and at the Canyon Rim 1st Ward from 12:00-12:45 p.m. prior to

Bertoch, John Wayne
John Wayne Bertoch 1952 ~ 2005 My eternal companion and our best friend, John
W. Bertoch, passed away on April 4, 2005. John was born June 14, 1952, in
Pocatello Idaho to Jack W. Bertoch and Colleen Price. John loved life and had
an infectious laugh. He loved his family and friends. He was always interested
in others, their lives, their joys, their sorrows. His greatest joy was in
serving others. His friends referred to him as "big hearted John." He loved
music. He was an accomplished pianist, taught piano lessons, and loved to sing
with his wife, Marilyn. He loved to go to the movies and enjoyed the
experience with his diet Coke and popcorn. He loved reading and learning. He
enjoyed emailing to countless friends. Held many positions of leadership in
the LDS Church. Went to school in Pocatello. Worked for his Grandpa Bertoch at
Paramount Dry Cleaners. After graduating from high school, he attended Rick's
College where he spent his summers at the Play Mill Theatre in Jackson Hole.
He began his career with US West in Pocatello, and in 1977 moved to Salt Lake
City and worked for Quest for over 25 years, where he enjoyed many friendships
that have lasted through the years. He is survived by his wife Marilyn and his
son Cameron, father Jack (Barbara), brothers David (Stacy), Tim (Jalene),
Scott (Pam), Jason (Julia), sisters Lisa (Chris), Leslie (Dave), Lee Ann
(Dale), step-sister Deborah Miller (Robert), mother and father-in-law Gene and
Joyce Smith, sister-in-law Sharon (Warren) Rappleye, brother-in-law Jerry
(Betsy) Smith, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Preceded in
death by mother Colleen, step-father Harold Whisler, Michael Bertoch (uncle),
and loving grandparents. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8 at 12
noon at the Cottonwood Heights 3rd Ward, 6890 S. 2228 E. A viewing will be
held Thurs. night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland
Drive and one hour prior to funeral services.

Butterfield, Patricia Joan
Patricia Joan Butterfield (Our English Mother) Our loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at her home on
April 3, 2005, at the age of 73. Born October 15, 1931 in Ilford, Essex,
England, to Ernest John Peach and Phyllis Daisy Weaving she was the oldest of
three children. She earned her degree in nursing at a young age in England and
came to the United States when she was 21. She worked as a nurse for 47 years.
Later in life she worked as a hospice nurse and truly loved all her patients.
Mom was always happy and positive and greeted everyone as if they were her
best friend. She was the type of person who saw the best in everyone and
everything and was grateful for every blessing. She was a faithful member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed working at the
temple. Mom is survived by her children: Gail (Russell) King, Vernal; Craig
(Susan) Rosenvall, Draper; Doreen Albiston, Farmington; Blake (Reanna)
Rosenvall, Layton; Alane (Brent) Stephens, Farmington; Teresa Chandler,
Farmington; Cindy (Doug) Thompson, Sandy; 20 grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers and sister A. John Roscoe
(England), Terry Peach (England) and Marilyn (George) Vanlysbeth (Belgium).
Preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Weaving Roscoe and her father Ernest
John Peach. A viewing will be held at Farmington Rock Chapel on Wed., April 6,
from 6-8 p.m. and on Thurs., April 7, an hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral services will be Thurs. April 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington
Rock Church Ward, 272 North Main Street, Farmington. Interment will be at the
Farmington City Cemetery.

Chapman, Patsy Tregeagle
Patsy Tregeagle Chapman G G Sam Patsy died April 1, 2005, surrounded by her
family, from complications following a stroke. Born October 7, 1925 in Salt
Lake City to Florence and Arthur Tregeagle. She is survived by two daughters,
Catherine Rice and Sandra Sampson; seven grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; one soon to be great- great-grandchild; two sisters,
Nancy Beuregard and Donna Miller. Preceded in death by older brother, and twin
brother; and two very special sons-in-law. Graveside services will be held
Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 E.
1300 So. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hearts for

de Robles, Elida Gianfelice
Elida Gianfelic  de Robles "Abui" Beloved daughter, mother, grandmother,
sister and friend to all, Elida, joined her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April
3rd at 12 noon after a six-year battle with cancer. Her final hours were spent
listening to the Prophet, surrounded by her family. She fought a good fight,
she finished the race, she kept the faith. Born January 7, 1933 in Buenos
Aires, Argentina, to Donato and Emilia Notaro Gianfelic , the first and second
converts to the LDS Church in South America. They were great examples to their
family. She served a mission to Mendoza, Argentina, before moving to the
United States in 1963. She married George de Robles on May 30, 1964, later
divorced. They had two beautiful children, Barbara and Ronnie, whom Elida
raised in the gospel she loved so much! Her faith in the gospel was an anchor
in the lives of all who knew her. She served the Lord with all her heart; this
was most beautifully realized in her ability to love others without reserve,
as the Savior did. She kept spirits high when life swung low, and reminded us
of the Lord's hand in all blessings of this life. There are no words to
express the wonderful life she lived and how we will miss her. Elida is
survived by her brothers, Pasqual LaFratta, Italy, Antonio Gianfelic , Buenos
Aires; sister, Sara Gianfelic  Caputto, Temple City, CA; children, Barbara
(Matt) Lund and Ronald (Holly) de Robles, both of Salt Lake City; eight
grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her
parents; sister, Juana and brother, Nicola. Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12 Noon, at the Salt Lake 21st Ward, 2nd Ave and 'K'
Street. Friends and family may visit Tuesday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and Wednesday one hour prior to the
service at the ward. Special thanks to the staff at IHC Hospice, and the many
friends and family that helped care for her in her final days.

Kiley Adam Drysdale Will Be Missed HYDE PARK, UTAH- Kiley Adam Drysdale, 21,
of Hyde Park, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at his home. Funeral services will
be held Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Hyde Park 8th Ward, 480 North
100 West. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan,
Friday evening from 6-8 pm and at the church on Sat. from 11:30 - 12:45. A

Forward, Haydn
Haydn Forward "Taffy" 1914 ~ 2005 DOB: July 26, 1914. Birth Place: Varteg, So.
Wales, Great Britain. Died at home on April 3rd, 2005, at the age of 90,
surrounded by his loving family. His life's journey included brave decisions
that lead him and his young family to three different countries. He began
working as a coal miner at the age of 14. His continued studies promoted him
to the position of blasting engineer. Unfortunately an accident during a blast
exposed him to direct coal dust. This inhalation of coal dust initiated the
disease that he miraculously endured for another 60 years and eventually
caused his death. Haydn and Hilda were married in 1937 in Tallywain, Wales.
They always dreamed of a better life for their family. That dream combined
with the accident and his love for the Church, initiated the decisions that
began their journey which lead them to Canada and finally to Utah in 1957. He
began a new career and retired from the University of Utah as the "Key
Administrator". As his wife, Hilda, has expressed, "words are not available to
explain his kindness, generosity and love for his family and friends. He
taught his children by example to be honest and truthful in everything they
do." Haydn is survived by his wife; six children; 23 grandchildren and 44
great-grandchildren. We will especially miss his singing, whistling,
storytelling and infectious sense of humor. His dedication and love for his
family and Church was reflected in every facet of his life. Although he will
be greatly missed, we will always celebrate his influence and wonderful life.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 5, 6 - 8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial
Park, 3115 E. 7800 S., Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at the Union First Ward Chapel, 1535 East Creek
Road, Sandy, Utah, with a viewing at 2 p.m.

Hansen, Morris
Morris Hansen 1919 ~ 2005 SYRACUSE, Utah - Morris Hansen, 85, passed away
April 2, 2005 after a short illness. He was born May 26, 1919 in Syracuse,
Utah to Clyde and Hannah Hansen. He was married to Lizette Stuart, of Ogden,
November 26, 1939 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in
the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 65 years. They lived in Salt Lake
City for one year before moving to Ogden to open a building materials
business. In 1952 they moved to his hometown of Syracuse where they have lived
until now. In 1941, Morris, at the age of 21, started a building material
business in Ogden with his uncle Olie. His father and brothers later joined
him in the business which became Hansen Lumber Company. They retired from the
business in 1987. Morris was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II
in the Pacific Theater from 1944-46. He served on the Davis County School
Board from 1965-79, was a member of the Utah State House of Representatives
from 1981-85, a member of the Board of Trustees of Weber State College from
1985-95 and a member of the Syracuse City Planning Commission. At various
times he served as a member of the South Ogden Kiwanis, Syracuse Lions Club,
the Mount Ogden Rotary and the Ogden Golf and Country Club. He also served on
the Board of Directors of the Ben Lomond Golf Course and Humana Hospital. An
active member of the LDS Church, he served on the YMMIA General Board, the
Weber State College Stake High Council, the Syracuse Stake High Council,
Sunday School president, Scout Master, home teacher and Ordinance Worker in
the Ogden Temple for 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Lizette; one
daughter, Judy (Chub) Meibos of Pleasant View, Utah; one son, David (Kathy)
Hansen of Sandy, Utah; three grandchildren, Wendy Downing of San Francisco,
Claire (Bret) Mortensen of Highland, Utah, and Katie (David) Bruno of Idaho
Falls, Idaho; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Adam, Taylor, Ethan;
and one brother, Norman (Faye) of Syracuse. Preceded in death by his parents;
brothers, Russell and Gordon; and sisters, Maurine and Charlotte. Funeral
services will be held Wed-nesday, April 6, 2005, 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Bluff
Ward, 2500 S. Bluff Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at

Joshua Rod Jacobson 1982 ~ 2005 Joshua Rod Jacobson was taken from us on April
3, 2005. Josh was born December 7th, 1982 to Rod Jacobson and Brenda
Salaz-Ostler. He was raised in Vernal, Utah. Josh enjoyed music, basketball,
and traveling. Survived by son, Jaden Grey Jacobson; also expecting a baby in
five months; loving parents; brothers, Brock, Mark, Miko and Mario; sisters,
Whitney and Quincey; nephew, Kaden; niece, Temara; grandparents, Arlene and
Phil Leg, Maria Martinez; many aunts, uncles, cousins. Preceded in death by
Gerald (Bud) Jacobson and Frank Salaz. Graveside services will be held Friday,
April 8, 2005, 1 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Road.

Norma Jensen 1913 ~ 2005 Norma Jensen, loved by all, reached the end of her
life March 26, 2005. Born July 22, 1913 to Joseph and Sarah Rasmussen Woodhead
in Provo UT. Happily married to Tony Jensen who passed in 1968. Retired from
Mobil Oil Co. Volunteered with the Utah Opera, Symphony and Ballet. Active in
Salt lake civic and professional groups. Survived by daughter-in-law Rita
Jensen, granddaughters Jill Jensen, Julie(Bill) Hope, and great grandchildren
Sarah and William Hope; sisters Dorothy Sharp, Sandy, UT, Marilyn (Hal) Clark,
EICajon, CA, and Joyce Barleben, Littleton, CO, sister-in-law Adma Woodhead,
Waterford, CN, and her loved and loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son
Dick, her sister Helen, brothers Joe, Keith and Richard Woodhead. Farewell and
burial at Provo City cemetery Saturday, 9 April 1 p.m.

Jones, Bernice Donley
Bernice Donley Jones "Biece" Bernice died April 3, 2005 in North Salt Lake,
Utah. She was born April 5, 1924 in Salt Lake City to Frank and Ada Gough
Donley, wife of William Charles Jones - deceased Beloved sister,
sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Bernice was especially welcomed as a daughter
by her parents, as two brothers preceded her in the family. She attended Salt
Lake City Schools, graduating from West High School in 1941. As a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bernice taught Junior Sunday
School in the old 28th Ward, Riverside Stake. Her first employment was as an
elevator operator (in those days, elevators were manually operated) at the
then Medical Arts Building. Later, she was employed by Mountain Bell Telephone
Company in the billing department. She loved her job and the special people
she worked with. Bernice lived with and cared for her widowed mother in South
Salt Lake. In 1972 she underwent surgery for a benign tumor in the brain. She
survived the surgery but was curtailed from continuing in the work place.
Consequently, she became a resident of the Golden Living Center in
Taylorsville in 1978. There she met and married Bill Jones, who was also a
resident there. They were married in 1979 and later sealed in the Provo Temple
on May 22, 1981. After his death, it was necessary to move Bernice to a
Beehive Home in Layton, Utah, in 1997, and later moved to a Beehive Home in
North Salt Lake, Utah, where she came to know the residents there also.
Bernice is survived by her brother Ralph Donley, sister-in-law Lucille Sanford
Donley; nieces: Lynette (Brent) Montgomery, Lora (David) Richardson, Rynda
Monson, Jan Morgan, Karla McDonald and Tova (Alan) Taylor, and many loving
great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother
Douglas Donley, sister-in-law Ruth Donley and husband William C. Jones. The
family wishes to extend to the management and staff of these facilities our
heartfelt thanks and gratitude for their excellent concern and care. And more
recently the kindness and love extended by Hospice personnel. The funeral
services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Russon

Keirce, Linda M.
Linda M. Keirce "Bobshi" Our beloved mother, cherished grandmother, sister and
dedicated friend, Linda Keirce, returned to the loving arms of her husband,
April 5, 2005. Linda was born January 22, 1942 in Salt Lake City, to Irvin and
Clara Connary. She married her soul mate, Frank R. Keirce Jr. She loved to
travel and was very interested in history. Linda was a member of the Daughters
of the Utah Pioneers, and involved with the Lincoln Highways Association. She
loved to be in the outdoors and gardening. She especially loved her children,
grandchildren, family and friends, who will all miss her dearly. Survived by
her children, Frank (Kristi), Cynthia (Scott) Silva; three grandchildren,
Andrew, Haley and Lacey Silva; sisters, Carolyn Connary and Lois (Dave) Shull,
and many extended family members. Preceded in death her loving husband, Frank
and her parents. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8th, 11 a.m. at
Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held Thursday
evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the mortuary.

Later, Lillian Quinn
Lillian Quinn Later 1912 ~2005 Lena Lillian Quinn Later, 93, much loved
mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2005,
in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lillian was born January 29, 1912, in Basalt, Idaho,
to Robert T. and Mary Bagwell Quinn, the tenth of eleven children. Her mother
died when Lillian was just a toddler so she was raised by her father and
siblings. She attended Firth High School then moved to Pocatello, Idaho to
work. On May 31, 1930, she eloped with Stephen Call Later to the courthouse in
Pocatello on their lunch hour and their marriage lasted for 72 years. Lillian
and Steve moved to St. Anthony, Idaho, in 1951, when they purchased their own
grocery store, Later's Market. She was active in the community, serving as
president of the St. Anthony Women's Club. She was widely known for her great
cooking and was also an excellent seamstress. She loved to read, play bridge,
and do crossword puzzles and after Steve's retirement, they both became avid
golfers. Summers were always spent with family at the summer home that Steve
and his father built in Island Park, Idaho. Steve and Lillian entertained
frequently at the cabin and guests of all social levels were welcomed and fed
well. In 1995, Steve and Lillian moved to Sandy, Utah, to live with their
daughter, LeAnn. Lillian was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints and her family was the focal point of her life. She was a
woman of great integrity, good humor, and love and will be missed greatly by
her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, and daughter,
Karen Mortensen. She is survived by her son, Monte (Beverly) Later, St.
Anthony, Idaho; daughter, LeAnn (Michael) Mason, Sandy; son-in-law, Charles
Mortensen, Concord, CA 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one
great-great-grandson. The family expresses appreciation to Alisa Fullmer,
Tracy Otteson, and Paulette Ransom for their years of loving service to
Lillian, as well as the staff of Garden Terrace who cared for her with dignity
and tenderness during her final days. Funeral services will be held Thursday,
April 7, 2005, at 12:00 noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 1950 E.
10600 S., Sandy, Utah, where a viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
prior to the services. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Condolences

John Elden MacKay 1929 ~ 2005 John Elden MacKay, 76, passed away April 3,
2005. He was born January 27, 1929, in Murray, Utah to Roland Carlisle and
Esther Luella Capson MacKay. He married Donna Faye Goodrich January 14, 1953
in the Salt Lake Temple. John was a very active and faithful member of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was privileged to serve as a
missionary in the Central Pacific Mission - to the Japanese people of the
Hawaiian Islands, Bishop (two times), member of a Stake Presidency, High
Councilor; and his two favorite callings, Gospel Doctrine teacher and Sealer
in the Temple for 28 years. His first love is his family: Donna his eternal
companion, their six sons: Scott (Diane), Kirk (Lori), Eric (Sherie), Brady
(Hollee), Bart (Shara), and Lane (Cheryl), and his Japanese son Yoshio
Kikuchi; 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by
his sister: Luella Newbold, and brothers; Russ and Michael MacKay. He was
preceded in death by his oldest son Scott on April 14, 2002; four sisters and
two brothers. John was a Funeral Director for 55 years in Utah and California
and was the owner of the MacKay Mortuaries and Cemeteries. He loved the
outdoors and his dogs, horses, cabin, fishing and hunting trips with his
family. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. at
the Little Cottonwood Stake Center, 1160 E. Vine St. (6050 S.) Friends and
family may call on Thurs. from 6-8 p.m. at the MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary,

Married Martin Steven McAdoo on April 7, 1984 in Salt Lake City. Survived by
her husband, sons and daughter: Quentinus, Antwone and Shekena; grandsons:

Mills, Daniel Glenn
Daniel Glenn Mills 1967 ~ 2005 Daniel Glenn Mills passed on Monday, April 4,
2005. He was valiant in his acceptance of his metastatic pancreatic cancer
while receiving hospice and palliative care in his home, and at Rocky Mountain
Care Center, Tooele, Utah. Daniel was born to William Grady Mills and Eleanor
Darlene Weston on March 28, 1967 in Monterrey, California. His mother,
Eleanor, his father William and his stepmother Norma Mills, raised him in
Salinas, California. He lived in Salinas, California until joining the US
Navy, which ultimately took him to the East Coast. After Daniel's Navy tenure
he moved to sunny San Diego where he met his sweetheart, Alda G.
Gillett-Mills, originally from Magna, Utah. Daniel and Alda were married in La
Jolla, California and lived in Pacific Beach, California until his employment
relocated them to Salt Lake City, Utah. Daniel loved learning and received a
bachelor's degree while working full-time, and supporting his wife and family.
He was enrolled in a Master's Program until his diagnosis in May 1994. He
loved the outdoors and spent time in the California mountains - backpacking
and fishing. He enjoyed mountain biking in Northern and Southern Utah; and
fishing on the Salt River in Wyoming. Danny was always practicing and playing
his trumpet, acoustic and electric guitars. Daniel has three children.
Scarlett D. Mills (Texas), Corey S. Mills and Nathan G. Mills (Tooele). His
brothers are James (Caryn) Redwine (Washington), William Jr. (Claudette) Mills
(California), Paul Mills (Arizona) and his sisters, Nancy Redwine
(California), Cher (Kenneth) Shields (California). Daniel's viewing will be
held on Thursday, April 7, 2005, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Tate Mortuary-110 South
Main Street, Tooele, Utah 84074. Funeral Services will be located at The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1025 West Utah Avenue, Tooele,

Jeffrey Glenn Parkin 1957 ~ 2005 "Today we had a son, what a joy!" Our beloved
son, Jeffrey Glenn Parkin, age 46, left this world, Saturday, April 2, 2005.
He was born December 19, 1957. The joy of his mother and father's life, Glenn
and Claire Parkin. His mom would say "today we had a son, what a joy!". He was
raised in North Salt Lake, graduated from Viewmont High School, attended the
University of Utah. He was the Cheerleading Coach of so many great and
talented young ladies and men for 22 years and coached his team to many
National Championships. They were awesome to perform at all the games. He
established the U of U Cheerleading Scholarship and many other activities. His
squad was the joy of his life. His mom and dad were very proud of him. He is
survived by his mom, Clair (Mamalu) Parkin and his dad, Glenn Parkin; many
aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7,

Peterson, Ethan Cole
Ethan Cole Peterson 1997 ~ 2005 Our joke-cracking, game-playing,
cancer-fighting angel has died. Ethan Cole Peterson passed from this life
early Monday, April 4, 2005 due to complications from neuroblastoma. Ethan was
born December 2, 1997 to John and Lisa Peterson. He lived in Woods Cross all
of his life. He was a shy first grader, who loved to read, ride his bike and
play with friends. Most of all, he loved being home with his brothers. He was
our hero throughout his fight with cancer. He was brave beyond his years.
Ethan is survived by his parents, John and Lisa; brothers, Christopher, Nick
and Justin; his grandparents, Gerald and Coni Peterson (Orem), and Robert and
Alene Pearson (Fairfield, MT); also great-grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins and
extended family. We express love and gratitude to our friends, neighbors and
family, and to all of the doctors, nurses and other medical staff at PCMC,
especially in the ICS Unit, that cared so lovingly for Ethan and our family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Woods Cross

Plummer, Rev. Steven Tsosie
Rt. Rev. Steven Tsosie Plummer 1944 ~ 2005 The Rt. Rev. Steven Tsosie Plummer,
Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Navajoland (Navajoland Area Mission) died
peacefully on the morning of April 2, 2005 in Shiprock, NM at the Northern
Navajo Medical Clinic. He had been fighting lymphatic cancer for several
years, and bore his illness with dignity as he continued to shepherd his
flock. Steven was born on August 14, 1944 in Coal Mine, NM. He was baptized at
Good Shepherd Mission, Fort Defiance, AZ in April of 1949. Steven attended
boarding school in Albuquerque but spent each summer at Good Shepherd Mission
where his aunt (in the Navajo sense, his grandmother) Margaret Hardy was a lay
minister. Margaret took Steven under her wing and steered him toward ministry
after he dropped out of school. In 1968 Steven became a lay minister, doing
missionary work, teaching, and leading the Daily Offices. This one-time ninth
grade dropout was accepted by the Diocese of Arizona as a postulant, and
embarked upon a challenging course of study and tutoring which eventually lead
him to become the first Navajo priest in the Episcopal Church. He completed
his GED, and attended Church Divinity School of the Pacific. Steven was
ordained Deacon in July of 1975 and Priest in June of 1976. He was a curate at
Fort Defiance from 1975 to 1977, vicar of St. John the Baptizer in Montezuma
Creek, UT from 1977 to 1983, and became the Regional Vicar of the San Juan
area in 1983, serving at St. Christopher's Mission, Bluff and its two smaller
churches, St. John the Baptizer and St. Mary-of-the-Moonlight in Monument
Valley, UT. He also served as the Presiding Elder of the Navajoloand Area
Mission during this time. Steven married a young widow, Catherine Black on
June 11, 1977 at Good Shepherd Church, Fort Defiance, and in July a
traditional Navajo wedding at the family sheep camp across the San Juan River
in Utah. As is the Navajo custom, Steven moved to his wife's home. Together
they raised Catherine's sons Byron and Brian, and their son and daughter,
Steven, Jr. and Cathlena. When he was ordained, most people did not foresee
the establishment of the Navajoland Area Mission as a separate diocese, or the
1989 consecration of Steven Tsosie Plummer as the first Navajo bishop of the
Episcopal Church. He took office in 1990 and in that same year College
Divinity School of the Pacific granted him an honorary doctorate (DD). In
1991, Nashotah House Seminary presented him with the same honor. Steven is
survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Catherine Black Plummer; his children
Brian Lance Tso and wife Liberty of Durango, CO; Steven Tsosie Plummer, Jr.
and Cathlena Arnette Plummer of Bluff, UT; granddaughters Kelli Ray Tso and
Katherine Debray Tso; his loving and caring families in Fort Defiance, AZ and
the San Juan area of Utah. Preceded in death by Catherine's son Byron Lance
Tso and his aunt Margaret Hardy. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April
6th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Christopher's Church, Bluff followed by burial at
Plohyaghai family cemetery. The Rt. Revs. Frank Griswold (Presiding Bishop of
the Episcopal Church), Rustin Kimsey (Bishop of Eastern Oregon, Retired) and
Mark MacDonald (Alaska) will lead the services. In lieu of flowers,
contributions to the Steven Plummer Family Fund at the Citizen's State Bank,
77 W. Main Street, Cortez, CO 81321 would be greatly appreciated.

Poulsen, Glen Martin
Glen Martin Poulsen 1936 ~ 2005 On Monday, April 4, 2005, Glen Martin Poulsen,
68, loving husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully returned home to his
Father in Heaven. Born on December 2, 1936 in Spanish Fork, Utah, Glen was
raised and attended school in the Spanish Fork area. He graduated from Spanish
Fork High School and served six years in the Utah National Guard. He attended
Brigham Young University where he obtained a Bachelor's of Science in
Elementary Instruction with a double minor in Sociology and Human
Development/Family Relations. He married Arlene Peterson, also of Spanish
Fork, on August 11, 1961. They were later married and sealed to their children
for all time and eternity in the Provo Temple on August 11, 1978. He taught
fourth and sixth grades in Payson, Utah, at Taylor Elementary, Peteetneet
Elementary, and Payson Middle School. During his career as an educator for
nearly 37 years, Glen taught countless numbers of students in Math, Reading,
and Social Studies. Because of the myriad of lives he touched while in the
classroom, his positive influence for good is immeasurable As a member and
High Priest of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he faithfully
served in his Elder's Quorum Presidency, as a Webelos Leader, and as a temple
worker. Glen enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, doing family
history, and most of all the company of his grandchildren and family, who were
always the focus of his efforts and the source of his joy. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Martin Poulsen and Vera May Johnson; and one brother,
Ralph J. Poulsen. He is survived by his wife; three children: Steven (Kara)
Glen Poulsen of Spanish Fork; Darren (Cathleen) Ray Poulsen of Lehi; and
Melanie Poulsen of Spanish Fork; and eight grandchildren: Kaila, Sierra, Jada,
Necia, Rachel, Emma, Erika, and Jordan. Also by two brothers: Blaine A.
Poulsen of Spanish Fork, and Neil J. Poulsen of West Valley. Funeral services
will be held Friday, April 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork West Stake
Center, 360 North 650 West. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing

Roberts, Wanda
Wanda Roberts 1914 ~ 2005 Wanda Ruth Andrus Roberts passed away March 31,
2005. She was 90 and a blessing to the end -- and still. Born Nov. 6, 1914 in
Holladay, Utah to Clarence Loyal Andrus and Ruth Viola Christensen, she was
the eldest of nine children. Wanda attended Irving Grade School, Granite High,
(she was the first female "cheerleader" there) and graduated from BYU in 1939.
On June 6, 1940 she married her BYU sweetheart, Charles Henry Roberts. The
couple raised six children and taught school for 39 years in the Big Horn
Basin area of Wyoming, before retiring to Lehi. Wanda is a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always served faithfully in
church organizations and in the community. These past few years she agonized
over her memory loss, but she never forgot her testimony of Jesus Christ. She
never forgot to keep His commandments and express gratitude. She never forgot
her positive attitude and cheerful disposition. Proverbs is true. "... for her
price is far above rubies . . . Strength and honour are her clothing;"
Survived by children, Duane (Susan) Roberts, Springville; Kurt (Jackie)
Roberts, American Fork; Ruth (Jim) Dunn, Orem; Reese (Diane) Roberts,
Kaysville; Maralee (Zeke) Francis, Moab; Gerald (Candice) Roberts,
Bartlesville, Oklahoma; 32 grandchildren (three serving LDS missions); and 22
great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Andrus, of Draper; Willis Andrus, of
Murray; James Andrus, of Glenwood; and Jay Andrus, of Price. Preceded in death
by her dear Charlie, brothers Roger, Doug and Stan, sister, Vaudis Swenson,
and a grand-daughter, Danielle Roberts. Funeral services Saturday, April 9,

Ruis, Aline Piper White
Aline Piper White Ruiz 1917 ~ 2005 Aline Piper White Ruiz passed away
peacefully Sunday, April 3, 2005, at her home she loved so much. Throughout
her long illness, she was courageous, gracious, never complained and always
maintained a beautiful smile and sense of humor. She was born June 23, 1917,
in Ogden, Utah to Frank Ward Piper and Ethel May Cashmore. In 1940, she
married Lincoln C. White, divorced. Later married Mario Ruiz in 1982, widowed.
A true entrepreneur, her successful career started as secretary to the Ogden
City Commissioner. Later she became the backbone of her husband's success,
wearing any hat and building four successful businesses: White and Company,
FAIM Inc., White Jewelry Enterprises and City View Apartments. In 1975 she
received the Woman of the Year award for the Salt Lake Chapter of the American
Business Women's Association. She respected and enjoyed nature and was trained
as a beautiful ballet and ballroom dancer. Most of all she loved and was
devoted to her family, always supporting with her love and providing college
educations for her grandchildren and great-grand-children. Her generosity was
always shared with family and charities. She was an active member of the LDS
church and served in many callings throughout her life. She is survived by her
four children: Janice (P. Kent) Fairbanks, Jeanette White, Lincoln F. White,
and Gregory W. (Carol) White, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren
(two deceased). The family wishes to thank her sincere, caring dialysis and
health care providers. In lieu of flowers Aline requested that donations be

Russon, Mabel McCune Lunt
Mabel McCune Lunt Russon 8/17/1907 ~ 3/29/2005 Mabel McCune Lunt Russon, born
on August 17, 1907 in Nephi, Utah to Shadrach James and Florence McCune Lunt,
passed away peacefully on March 29, 2005. Mimo, as all her grandchildren
called her, attended the University of Utah after graduating from L.D.S. High
School in Salt Lake. She married Kenneth (Kay) Gene Russon in the Salt Lake
L.D.S. Temple on June 7, 1930. In 1932 Kay and Mabel moved to Los Angeles,
California where they lived and raised their family. Kay passed away in May of
1971. Mabel held leadership positions in the Ward and Stake Primary and Mutual
programs. She was very active in the P.T.A. and sewing clubs during and after
World War II. She also spent many years caring for her parents in her home. In
1996 she moved back to Utah, residing in the Legacy Retirement and then at the
South Jordan Beehive Home near her two sons. She is survived by her sons,
Richard Lunt Russon (Carol) and Kenneth James Russon (Janet), 10
grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Also dear to her heart was Ed
Borden and Marilyn Phillips as well as many other close relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East,
Salt Lake City on Friday, April 8, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Graveside services
will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Old Nephi

Segal, Mayer "Mike"
Mayer "Mike" Segal 1912 ~ 2005 Mayer "Mike" Segal, age 92, passed away on
March 30, 2005 in his home in Salt Lake City. Born in Rozana, Poland on
October 31, 1912, Mike moved with his family to Blackfoot, Idaho. From there,
he moved to Salt Lake City, married his wife, Corinne Finkelstein, at the
Hotel Utah on April 3, 1940 and went into the family business - Western
Furniture. Always actively interested in learning, Mike encouraged his
children to seek out education and to use their knowledge to do good in the
community. For his last eight years, Mike enthusiastically participated in the
exercise program at Cardiac Rehab Center at LDS Hospital. He loved the staff
and enjoyed the companionship of the other participants. Mike adored his
family. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He leaves
behind daughters, Eileen Ingenthron, Oakland, CA; Laraine (Allan) Kokin, Los
Angeles, CA; Sandra Segal, Denver, CO; son, Roger (Pat Marlowe) Segal, Salt
Lake City, UT; sisters, Sonia Cohne, Salt Lake City, Utah; Jeanette (Charles)
Miller, Washington, DC; six grandchildren, Jason (Autumn) Ingenthron, David
Ingenthron, Daniel (Nizan) Stein Kokin, Sarah Kokin, Sammy Kokin, Marlo Segal
and one great-grandchild, Aiden Ingenthron. He is preceded in death by his
wife, Corinne Finkelstein and sister, Clara Segal Pepper. Graveside services
were held at B'nai Israel Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. on April 1, 2005. In Mayer
"Mike" Segal's memory, the family suggests contributions to the Corinne Segal

Silcox, Jack W.
Jack W. Silcox 1924 ~ 2005 Jack W. Silcox, age 81, passed away peacefully at
his home, April 2,2005 in Payson, Utah. Jack was born February 22, 1924 in
Riverton, Utah to Nicholas and Minnie Brown Silcox. He graduated from Jordan
High School where he excelled in basketball and football. Jack served in the
Navy during World War II. He married Myrl Beckstead on October 10, 1945 in the
Salt Lake Temple. Jack and Myrl lived nearly their entire married life in
Riverton, Utah. He coached young men basketball and softball for many years.
Family outings, hunting trips, and looking for a deal on a good used cow or
new vehicle were his favorite things to do. Jack served on the Riverton Town
Council. He was the self-employed owner and operator of "Jack's Used Cows" and
Silcox Raw Milk Depot. He and Myrl spent the last few years in Payson, Utah.
Jack had a great love and concern for his family and enjoyed people. He is
survived by his wife, Myrl, five children: Jay (Cathy), Riverton; Marie
(Wayne) Steadman, Salem; Nadine (Kyle) McKee, Herriman; Roy (Cathy), Salem;
and Brad (Julie), Payson; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grand-children; a sister,
Margaret Ballard, Draper. Preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters,
and two grandsons. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 6-8

Smith, Merlin W.
Merlin W. Smith Preston, Idaho Merlin William Smith, 96, passed away 31 March
2005. He was born Nov. 1, 1908 in Logan, Utah the fourth child of James McNeil
and Lydia Emma England Smith. Merlin graduated from Logan High School and the
first seminary class. He attended school at Utah State. He married his college
sweetheart Eda Doty of Richmond in the Logan LDS Temple June 8, 1932. They
were married 70 years until her death Oct. 15, 2002. In 1934 they moved to
Preston and established Mereda's Vogue Shop, selling women's clothing and
shoes. They operated it for 47 years. Merlin loved music, took a few piano
lessons, and then taught himself to play the banjo and accordion. In Preston
he organized a dance band and played the piano. They played throughout Cache
valley for 30 years. He was a charter member and president of both the Lions
Club and Monarch Lions Club. Merlin served as scoutmaster, counselor in Sunday
School and president of the Mutual. He was ward clerk under three bishops and
was a stake clerk and High Councilman. Merlin had been living in a care center
in American Fork, Utah. Survivors are daughters, Carole (Eulyn) Jensen of
Alpine, Utah; Bonnie Jayne (Richard) Irizarry of Boise, Idaho and Sharlene
(Ralph) Leebert of Sacramento, Calif. He had 23 grandchildren and 27
great-grand children. Preceded in death by his wife, daughter Myrna, parents,
three brothers, one sister and a son in-law. Funeral services will be
Saturday, April 9, at the Preston 8th Ward Chapel in Preston, Idaho at 213 S &
2nd E. at 12:00 noon with Bishop Kevin Sharp conducting. Friends may call
Saturday from 11:00-11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery. Services
are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Sorensen, Que
Que Sorensen "Paradise Rancher" Que Sorensen, age 91, passed away, after a
long and fulfilling life on April 4, 2005 in Ferron, Utah due to natural
causes. Born July 18, 1913 in Emery, Utah to Andrew M. and Johanna Christina
Larsen Sorensen. He married the love of his life Jessie Lewis on December 2,
1948 in Orangeville, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized on June 29, 1953
in the Manti LDS Temple. Que was an active member of the LDS Church and served
as a High Priest. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great
grandfather. He was an accomplished rancher, heavy equipment operator and
person overall. He was truly liked by everyone he met. He was a member of the
Emery Riding Club and was owner of the Sorensen Mercantile in Emery for many
years before he and Jessie moved to Murray and lived in the home they dearly
loved. He was a member of the Good Sam Club where his CB handle was "Paradise
Rancher", named after his favorite place on earth, with the LK Antelopes. He
and Jessie enjoyed many trips and social functions with their beloved Good
Samers. He worked for Menlove Construction and retired from the Murray City
Road Department where he drove the sweeper he dearly enjoyed. He later went to
work for Allied Development where he formed many dear friendships. Que worked
hard but had a lot of good times with his family, leaving us with many, many
wonderful memories. Survived by his wife; son, Keith (Donna), Ferron;
daughters, Roma (Kell) Blackham, St. George; Jeannette (Ken) Hadean, Tooele,
and Susanne (Fred) Babcock, Mesquite, NV; 11 grandchildren and 21 great
grandchildren. Preceded in death by his grandson, William Gary Babcock,
granddaughter, Sherrie Ann Babcock, seven brothers and one sister. Funeral
services will be held Sat., April 9th, at 12 noon in the Murray 10th Ward,
5750 S. Nena Way (50 W.). Friends may call at Memorial Estates Redwood, 6500
S. Redwood Rd., on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward Sat. from

Stevens, Lloyd Partridge
Lloyd Partridge Stevens "Together Again" Lloyd Stevens , 92, passed away
Sunday, April 3, 2005 in Sandy, Utah. He was born on August 27, 1912 in
Raymond, Alberta, Canada to David Felshaw and Clara Partridge Stevens. Lloyd
spent his boyhood years in Holden, Utah before moving to Salt Lake City. He
attended LDS High School, and Utah State Agricultural College in Cedar City
and Logan. He married Nola Lee on March 8, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Together they raised five children, built Stevens Cash Market and Nola's Gift
Shop in Sandy. He worked for Walgreens and Meadow Gold Dairy in ice cream
production and as bacteriologist in the Utah State Department of Agriculture
for 17 years. They served as ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple and
served a temple mission in Atlanta Georgia where he was a sealer. He served as
Bishop of the Sandy First Ward from 1964 to 1971 and was a member of the Sandy
West Stake High Council. Nola died December 3, 1990. Lloyd later married Wanda
Gull Morris. She died February 17, 2002. Survivors: children, Larry (Sheila),
David (Laura), Susan Monson (Dan) all Sandy, Peggy Bench (George), Fairview;
27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Ann Herman (Ray),
Bakersfield, CA; sisters Edna Gray, Lydia Peirce. Preceded in death by
brothers and sister, son Robert, granddaughter Dixie Bench. Funeral services
Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sandy West Stake Center 8680 S.
220 E. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary 8090 South State and
Saturday 12:15-1:15 at the church. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.

Strong, June Engberson
June Engberson Strong "Together Again" 1908 ~ 2005 June Engberson Strong, age
96, passed away on Sunday, April 3, in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was born June
30, 1908 in Driggs, Idaho, the daughter of Eve & Alma Engberson. June attended
school in Driggs and graduated from Teton High School. She married William A.
Strong on Dec. 23, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She attended Ricks
College before she was married, and later received her Bachelor's degree from
BYU in 1959. She taught elementary school for 24 years. June was an active
member of the LDS Church and served in many positions through the years. She
especially cherished her time as a temple worker in the Provo Temple. She was
nominated by her family in 1971, as a candidate for Idaho Mother of the Year.
She is survived by her children, William J. (Charlene), Provo, currently
serving an LDS mission in Ghana,, John (Jennie Lin), Provo, Genevieve Smith,
Kaysville, David (Gaye), Palmdale, CA, Maurine (Robert) Miles, Pleasant Grove,
Mark (Jasmine), Provo, Ralph (Laurel), Riverside, CA, daughter-in-law, JoDeane
Ricks, Driggs, ID, sister, Christina Yates, Brigham City, 53 grandchildren and
90 great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A
Strong, son, Melvin, daughter, Emma, son-in-law, Paul Smith, five brothers and
five sisters, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
April 9, at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant View 4th Ward, 650 East 2900 North,
Provo. Family and friends may call Friday, April 8, 2005, from 6:30-8:00 at
the Walker-Sanderson Funeral Home 646 East 800 North, Orem, and from

Van Ieperen, Robert H.
Robert H. Van Ieperen "Bob" Robert Henry (Bob) Van Ieperen, our father,
grandpa, brother, uncle and man about town passed away unexpectedly April 2,
2005. Born June 10, 1943 to Henry and Denese Van Ieperen in Salt Lake City.
Graduated Highland High, Westminster College and University of Utah. Served in
the Great Lakes Mission 1963-65. Commissioned Officer United States Army
serving as a Special Forces Officer and helicopter pilot with the Utah
National Guard. Former trooper with the Utah Highway Patrol. History
instructor at Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah. Former
Scout Master for special needs Boy Scouts and volunteer at the Fort Douglas
Military Museum. He delighted in serving as home teacher at Highland Cove.
Married Marianne Dixon, later divorced. Married Barbara Hunt, later divorced.
Survived by daughter, Denese (Jubal) Ellis; son, Jerry Dirk; sister Evie
(Brent) Brewerton; brother, Roger (Debbi) Livingston; grandchildren Hunter and
Bailey Ellis; many beloved nieces and nephews and many great nieces and
nephews, who loved their "Uncle Bob." Funeral services will be held Thurs.,
April 7 at 12:00 noon in the Salt Lake Foothill First Ward Chapel, 1930 S.
2100 E. Friends may call Wed. 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 S. Temple

Wonnacott, Aubrey Charles
Aubrey Charles Wonnacott "DUKE' Duke passed away quietly at the age of 88, on
Friday, April 1, 2005, in Midvale, Utah surrounded by his wife, Imogene and
other family members at his side following complications of a severe stroke.
Duke was a painting contractor most of his adult life. He was born in Salt
Lake City, Utah, the son to Horace Oliver and Olive Rushworth Wonnacott. Duke
was self-employed as a painting contractor most of his adult life. Duke is
survived by his loving wife, Imogene; two step-daughters, Marlene (Dick)
Oliver, Shauna (Michael) Pikula; two sisters, LaRiene Morgan and Marcelle
(Wayne) Baker; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral
services were held on Tuesday April 5, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at the Holbrook
Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E., where friends visited with the family for one hour
prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Condolences to the

Woods, Helen Roberts
Helen Roberts Woods 1917 ~ 2005 Helen Roberts Woods, age 87, passed away on
April 3, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Ut. Helen was born to Don W. and Melva Glines
Roberts on July 3, 1917 in Vernal, Ut. She married Laurel Marion Woods on
April 8, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the loving mother of Barry L.
Woods and Helen Kay Woods and grandmother of Laurie Hallock, Mark B. Woods,
Kim McKibbin, Diana Stone and Linda Kaye Russell. She was a devoted
grandmother and great-grandmother of thirteen. She was beloved by all her
family members and was a wonderful hostess for many family gatherings. She
enjoyed cooking, decorating, gardening and other pursuits of the home. After
completing high school she attended business college in Salt Lake City, and
became Assistant County Treasurer of Uintah County for several years. She was
preceded in death by her daughter Kaye on October 5, 1965 and her husband
Laurel on September 9, 1995. She is survived by her son Barry and
daughter-in-law Judith Anne, of Hollister, California and her sister Merle
George of Phoenix, AZ and grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are thru Wasatch
Lawn Mortuary, services will be held at the LDS Winder 2nd Ward, located at
1361 East 4000 South, on Thursday April 7, 2005. Family and Friends are
invited to gather at 10:00 am and funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be at Elysian Burial Gardens in Salt Lake City.

Worthen, Faye S.
Faye S. Worthen "Beloved Mother and Friend" PANGUITCH, UTAH - Faye Smith
Worthen born May 20th 1921 in Circleville, UT to parents Albert Joseph Smith
and Sarah Alice Robinson Smith. She was the next to the youngest child of
seven children. She lived with her family on the Smith Farm in Circleville
until she was 15 and met and married Verd R. Worthen on Jan 20th 1937 in the
St. George Temple. They were always together until Verd's death on Jan 9,1997.
They moved to Panguitch where they had two daughters, Fayann and Naomi. Naomi
died at birth. In 1953 while living in Pocatello they were fortunate enough to
adopt a seven year old son James Verd. It was great now having a son. She
loved to work in her yard and was always planting flowers and digging weeds
and dandelions. Her yard was always her pride and joy. She loved Christmas
time. She would start to decorate her yard in October to get her lights out
while it was warm. She did all of her own decorating until the last couple of
years when her family would help her. Faye was a remarkable woman with many
talents. She was known as Busy Bee or the Honey Lady she helped Verd in the
honey business called Verd's Best honey for 40 years. Faye was active in the
Lady Lions Club, the Red Hat Club, Home Makers Club she played in the
Panguitch Rhythm Band. She spent many hours with her friends playing cards,
they loved to go shopping or even run away for the afternoon to have lunch.
Faye loved to sew, write poetry, sing, crochet, quilt, go fishing, gather fire
wood, and spending time at Panguitch Lake in their cabin. The family she will
leave behind is, daughter Fayann (Tim ) Christensen of Kanab; brother, Grover
Smith of Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law, ReNae Worthen of Pocatello ID; six
grand children and eight great-grand-children. Also is preceded in death by a
daughter Naomi; a son, James; three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services
will be held Sat., April 9, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Panguitch LDS Stake Center,
550 S. 100 W., where friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and
again on Saturday from 11-12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery.
