Behr, Karla Jean Peterson
Karla Jean Peterson Behr 1965 ~ 2005 Karla Jean Peterson Behr, 39, passed away
April 17, 2005 in West Valley City, Utah. Born September 25, 1965 in Salt Lake
City, Utah, daughter of Gordon Jay and Norma Sperry Peterson. Married John R.
Behr, January 20, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Enjoyed camping, going to
Yellowstone, supporting family and taking care of everyone. Survived by
husband, John; parents; parents-in-law, Roland and Bonnie Behr; grandparents:
Della Peterson and Fred and Dixie Hansen; brothers: Richard (Jamie) Peterson
and Robert (Kim) Peterson; sister-in-law, Cindy Smith; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon at the Hunter 9th Ward, 3450
South 6400 West. A viewing will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral
Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m.
Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.

Bybee, Ferrel Wellington
Ferrel Wellington Bybee Together Again ST. GEORGE, UTAH - Ferrel Wellington
Bybee, born November 19, 1916, in Cornish, Cache County, Utah, passed away
Friday, April 15, 2005, in St. George at 88 years of age. He is the son of
Frank A. and Eva C. Bybee, and brother of Barney Campbell Bybee (deceased),
Frank Arthur Bybee, Jr. (deceased), Zara Bybee Skidmore, John Raleigh Bybee,
Amy Bybee Hymas, Walter Clayton Bybee, Larry Curtis Bybee, and Eugene Cassady
Bybee. From 1938 to 1941, he served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil. He was a cannoneer in the 42nd Rainbow
Division with the U.S. Army, earning one Service Stripe, one Overseas Service
Stripe, the American Defense Ribbon, the American Campaign Medal, two Bronze
Battle Stars, and World War II Victory Medal. On May 21, 1942, he married
Willa Daniels, with whom he shared 58 years until her death on August 9, 2000.
He worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield from 1956 until retirement in 1981. He
and his wife spent their life in service, first in the raising of their seven
children, and then as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints in the Swiss Temple, the Washington D.C. Temple, the Sao
Paulo, Brazil Temple, the Chicago Temple, and as a Church Service Missionary
in the Salt Lake City Family History Center. Now, happily reunited with his
wife, Ferrel is survived by their children, Ron (Ricki) Bybee, of San Angelo,
TX; Barbara (Terry) Glover, of Logan, UT; Lynn (Carrol) Bybee, of Salt Lake
City, UT; Bruce (Irma) Bybee, of Selma, CA; Kent (Kristen) Bybee, of Heber
City, UT, Billie Kay (Alan) Griffin, of Roy, UT; and Colleen (Brad) Hales, of
St. George, UT. He is also survived by 42 grandchildren and 40
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2005, at
12 noon, with a viewing from 10:30 a.m. until time of services, at the Val
Verda 1st Ward Chapel, 2633 S. 50 W., Bountiful, UT. Interment will be at
Lakeview Memorial Park in Bountiful. Arrangements are made under the direction
of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT, (435) 673-2454. In
lieu of flowers, Ferrel requested that donations be made to the Perpetual

Cannon, Irene Florance Chipman
Irene Florance Chipman Cannon 1909 ~ 2005 Irene Florance Chipman Cannon, 95,
formerly of Utah and long-time Honolulu resident passed away Tuesday, April 5,
2005 in Stafford, Virginia at the home of her daughter. She was born June 29,
1909 in Magrath, Alberta, Canada to Adelia Betsy Greene and John Isaac
Chipman. She was the youngest of eight children. Irene married George Q.
Cannon on October 19, 1927 in Heber City, Utah and was later sealed in the
Hawaiian Temple. They were married 70 years. A member of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, Irene served in many stake and ward capacities.
She was president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Hawaii, served in many
community organizations along with her husband and was involved in the Red
Cross during World War II. She will be greatly missed and always remembered
for her love and devotion to her husband and family, her gracious hospitality
and "aloha" spirit, most wonderful sense of humor and positive attitude,
creative ability, homemaking skills, and so much more. A very compassionate
person - always aware of and ready to offer help to those in need and always
saw the good in everyone she met. Irene especially loved little children and
had five of her own: Jeanne, George Q., Mary Jane, Vance and Mary Jean.
Preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, parents, five sisters, and
two brothers. She has three living children: George Q. III (Ardes), St.
George, Utah; Vance C. (Donna), Las Vegas, Nevada; and Mary Jean Slater
(Bruce), Stafford, Virginia. She has nine grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildren. Services will be at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple,
Salt Lake City on Saturday, April 23, 2005. Viewing at 8:30 a.m. and funeral
at 10 a.m. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Cook, Martin Lee
Martin Lee Cook "Cookie" Dad was born Dec. 13, 1936 to Christopher and
Beatrice Cook - thanks for giving him to us Grandpa! Dad married the love of
his life, Elaine Fay Matson on Jan. 28, 1956. Together they gave life to eight
great kids: Teri (Paul) Vaniscek, Christopher (Debbie), Scott (Theresa),
Valerie (Rex) Giles, Shawn (Suzy), Marianne (Kevin) Orullian, David (Amy), and
Kimmerlee (Patrick) Johnston. Dad's kids blessed him with 23 grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren. Dad joined our Heavenly Father peacefully on April 14,
2005, surrounded by his children and true love. Thank you dad for always
giving your undivided attention to each of us. Thanks for helping make us who
we are. Breath easy dad- We Love You. Preceded in death by his mother,
brother, and two grandsons. Words cannot express how we feel for the
compassion and care that was given to Cookie by the staff and doctors during
his last few weeks at CWH special care and ICU. Thanks everyone. Thank you Dr.

D'Arc, Patricia Ann Morris
Patricia Ann Morris D'Arc 1954 ~ 2005 Patricia Ann Morris D'Arc, 50, passed
away on April 17, 2005 at her home in Orem. She was born June 19, 1954, to
Robert Bitner Morris and Mae Woodbury Lambert Morris of Salt Lake City. She
attended Skyline High School and graduated in 1973, thereafter attending
Brigham Young University. On January 22, 1974, Patricia married James Vincent
D'Arc, of Glendale, California, in the Salt Lake Temple. Patricia served
faithfully and cheerfully in numerous positions in The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints, including primary chorister, a teacher in Young Women's
and Primary auxiliaries. Family History work became a focused activity. She
reveled in her service at the Missionary Training Center. A lover of holidays,
she made birthdays, and other calendared occasions notable events for her
family. She doted on her five children and seven grandchildren who faithfully
attended to her every need during the 19 months of her illness. Her light so
shined even during that difficult time as she looked forward reminding
everyone who came to visit her that she would soon have the strength to "run
around the block" with them. She radiated hope, courage, and astonishing
fortitude that she has instilled into her surviving husband and children
Samuel D'Arc (Dana), Meridian, ID; Jonathan D'Arc (Laralyn) Eagle Mountain;
Melanie Young (John), American Fork; Jennifer D'Arc, Salt Lake City; Laura
D'Arc, Orem. She is also survived by her mother Mae Woodbury Lambert Morris.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Bitner Morris. Funeral services
will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Heatheridge Stake
Center, 2000 North 450 East in Orem. A viewing will be held 9:00 a.m. to 10:30
a.m. prior to the services at the stake center. Interment will be in the
Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Salt Lake City. Condolences may be sent

Dansie, Loran Smith
Loran Smith Dansie "Gone to prepare a home for us." Born January 17, 1929 to
Beatrice Smith and Rulon G. Dansie. Raised in Riverton, Utah. He graduated
from Jordan High School, served an LDS mission in the Eastern States and
served in the United States Marine Corp in the Korean War. Married Donna
Carolyn Dixon March 2, 1956. Worked and taught as a homebuilder at Granite
High and later a crossing guard for Midvale Elementary. He served the
community as a member of the Lions Club, District Gov. 28-U 1990-1991,
1996-1996 as well as many other years. He headed the Youth Exchange Program
for 18 years and also chairman of the Quilt Festival to raise money for
Equipment at the Moran Eye Center. Held various church callings such as Elders
quorum Pres., counselor in the Bishopric, High Council, Division 4 Director of
athletics, plus many more. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife,
Donna Carolyn Dixon; brothers Marion, Darrell, Vaughn, Merlin, George and Lee;
sisters Barbara and Joyce; brothers-in-law Ron, Ed, Bill, Raymond and Larry
(deceased); children Robert (Charlene), Roger (Diane), David (Beth), Mark and
Daniel (Mindy); and 14 much loved grandchildren. He will be very missed.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 12 noon at Union 5th Ward
6770 South 500 East. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, April 20, 5:30
to 7:30 at the Church and one hour prior to service on Thursday. Interment at
Mountain View Memorial Cemetery 3115 East 7800 South.

Davis, Benny Reese
Benny Reese Davis 1934 ~ 2005 Benny Reese Davis passed away April 18, 2005 in
Salt Lake City, UT. Born December 30, 1934 in Downey, Idaho to Reynold and
Leona Thompson Davis. He was educated in Virginia and Downey, Idaho. Enlisted
in the US Navy and served during the Korean Conflict in the Persian Gulf area.
He was honorably discharged and made his home in Salt Lake City where he
married Sally Coutta July 6, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed
with five children: Ronald (Deb), Scott (Nadene), Tim, Benton D. (Jennifer)
and Charlynn (Brandon) James. They were later divorced. He married Karen Sue
Luce and they had two sons: B.J. and Bradley; later divorced. He worked many
years for Monroc and then started his own business, Bonneville Welding and
later Benny R. Davis Trucking Co. He enjoyed fishing, boating, flying and
motorcycling. His grandchildren always brought a special glow to his face. He
is survived by children; 13 grandchildren; six great-grand-children; sisters:
Gwen Jackson, Lois Anderson and Cherol (Clifford) Abbott; brothers, Van
(Lois), Max (Cecily), Perry and Clark (Marci). Preceded in death by sister,
Yvonne Davis; brother, Emerson Davis. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
10 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road where a viewing will be
held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 9-9:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment,
Downey Cemetery, Downey, Idaho.

Dietz, Donald Clyde
Donald Clyde Dietz "Great Guy" Donald Clyde Dietz, 58, passed away
unexpectedly Monday, April 18, 2005 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He
was born January 9, 1947 in Murray, Utah, son of Jacob and Sadie Morgan Dietz.
Married Barbara Elaine Adams May 5, 1978 in Sandy, Utah. He served in the Army
stateside, in Vietnam and in Turkey as a nuclear weapons technician. He
received various medals including the Purple Heart while in Vietnam. He was a
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Attended Granite
High School and graduated from the University of Utah in 1974. He played
linebacker at both Granite and the University of Utah. He was a very friendly
and kind man. He had a love of the outdoors, fishing with his two sons,
traveling with his family and was an avid reader. He also loved playing golf.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He had a special
love for his country and was very patriotic. He will be remembered for his
keen sense of humor and his ability to make life fun. He worked the majority
of his life at ZCMI, which later became Meier and Frank, where he had numerous
friends he held dear. Survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Michael Sean and
Adam Christopher; brothers: Thomas (Carol) Dietz, Sandy; James (Mary) Dietz,
Brigham City; Jacob (Darma) Dietz, Brigham City; Melvin (Patricia) Dietz,
Seattle, WA; sister, Ruth (Rene) Oliveros, San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in
death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2005,
12:00 noon at the Kearns 8th Ward, 3750 West 6200 South. Family and friends
may visit Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road

Fallentine, Lois Hansen
Lois Hansen Fallentine "She did it her way." Grandma Lo left this world to
join her son Doug in the next world on April I7 2005. Lois was born in Salt
Lake City on March 20, 1931, to Emma Smith and Julius Hansen. She was the
fifth of seven children and the eldest of the "three little girls." Lois is
survived by: her children, David Charles Merrell and Kristine Merrell Rogers
(William Benge); her grandsons, Benjamin Harvey Merrell, Orion Merrell Rogers,
Jordan Charles Merrell and Ross Douglas Merrell; her children in law, AJ
Rogers, Laurie Rogers Merrell and Corie Ross Merrell; her siblings: Emma
Allgier, Robert Hansen, Wanda Ahlstrom and Beth (Ken) Burns, and her many
nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly. Lois was preceded in death
by her parents, her brothers Dell and Andy and her son Douglas Harvey Merrell.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff on "Four
North" at University Hospital, particularly nurses Mike, Zinel and Gladys.
Graveside services will be held, Friday, April 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m., Wasatch
Memorial Lawn, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah.

Floisand, Lizzie Irene
Lizzie Irene Floisand 10/31/29 ~ 4/18/05 Lizzie Irene Floisand, 75, passed
away on April 18, 2005 in Salt lake City, Utah. She was born October 31, 1929
in Bergen Norway to Ivar and Agnes Floisand. She immigrated with her family to
the United States in 1948, settling in Salt Lake City, Utah and was a faithful
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lizzie was a
central figure in our family and kept us connected throughout her life. Her
generosity and talents were enjoyed by her entire family and her friends. She
is survived by five siblings: Willard (Ellinor) Floisand, Elna (Howard) Luker,
Johannes (Berith) Floisand, Amy (Halvor) Olsen, Harald (Barbara) Floisand.
Also survived by 22 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, and
by her brother, Trygve (Nada) Floisand. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Rosedale Ward Chapel, 1100 West and
500 North. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to
the funeral services. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. We

Grimes, Virginia Rollins "Ginny"
Virginia Rollins Grimes "Ginny" l/25/22 ~ 4/14/05 BOUNTIFUL - Our mom and
grama Gia passed away peacefully on April 14, 2005 after a full life lived
with courage and hardship. Virginia was born on January 25, 1922 in
Minersville, Utah to James Henry and Marie Hutchings Rollins. She married
Frank B. Grimes on November 18, 1942. Later divorced. She loved and cherished
her four children who survive her: Peggy Reichardt (Dan), Frank Grimes, Pam
Sessions and Debbie Campbell; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren;
sisters, Maurine and Beth and brother Keith. Preceded in death by parents and
sisters Zoe, Janet, Glenna and Bun. During World War II mom worked as a "Rosie
the Riveter". She was a member of Bountiful Community Church. Mom enjoyed
playing the piano, baking treats for her grandkids, crocheting and growing
beautiful flowers. The family expresses special appreciation to the caring
nurses and aides at Rocky Mountain Care, which was Moms home the past six
years. A celebration of Virginia's life will held Thursday, April 21 at 2 p.m.

Hendrickson, Shirley Turner
Shirley Turner Hendrickson 1910 ~ 2005 Shirley Turner Hendrickson, 94, passed
away Saturday evening, April 16, 2005. She was born on August 22, 1910 in
Holden, Utah to Rawldo and Elmeda Turner. She met her sweetheart, Claude E.
Hendrickson while working at the LDS mission home. They were married in 1937
in the Salt Lake Temple. Shirley was an active member of the LDS church and
she served faithfully in many callings. She was a lifelong member of the
Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Shirley loved spending time with her friends
and family, traveling, needlework, cooking and working in her garden. Claude
and Shirley's home was always open to anyone in need and she spent countless
hours serving others. Shirley is survived by her son Lynn (Kathy);
granddaughters, Kristine (Danny) Hopes; Stephanie Hendrickson, and Lisa (Eli)
Fillmore; four great-grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters. Preceded in
death by her husband Claude, her mother and father, her sister Alta, and her
brother Ward. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Thursday, April
21, 2005 at the Foothill 6th Ward, 2215 E. Roosevelt Avenue (1455 So.) Friends

Ince, Charlan Hickman
Charlan Hickman Ince 1943 ~ 2005 I retired from this life April 17, 2005 after
a short fight with cancer. I came into this world on my dad's birthday,
December 5, 1943. My parents were John P. and Gwenevere Miner Hickman. I had
three siblings to fight and love. I am survived by Paul and Lila Hickman;
Susan and Michael Reesor; and Miriam and Darrell Farnsworth. I married William
Ince in 1971. We later divorced but remained good friends. I taught for 38
years in the Granite School District. I loved being a teacher. I loved books,
swimming, bowling and going to lunch with friends. I loved traveling and had
many more trips planned. I am going to miss hugging and kissing my 22 nieces
and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21, 12 Noon, in the
Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St. where friends may call Wednesday 6 -8 p.m.
and Thursday one hour prior to the service. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.

Johnson, Donald G.
Donald G. Johnson 1924 ~ 2005 Donald Gene Johnson, age 81, passed away April
12, 2005 at home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born January 16, 1924 in Salt Lake
City, Utah son of Norman M. And Pearl Gene Tripp Johnson. Graduate of South
High School and attended the University of Utah. Veteran of the US Army,
serving during World War II in the 817th Tank Destroyer Battalion. Landed on
Utah Beach on D-Day; in the Battle of the Bulge; and the Remagen Bridge to the
Russian Front. Married Dona Roberta Pattillo March 21, 1947 in the Salt Lake
Temple. Worked in the automotive industry for 45 years and in the beekeeping
business for 20 years. Survived by his wife, Dona; six daughters, Barbara
Lorraine (Dirk) Groen, Shirlee Gene (Paul) Hansen, Marjorie Louise (Dave)
Jones, Julie Virginia (Ric) Wilcox, Diane Annette (Jim) Riley, and Karen Marie
(Marty) Cohen; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman,
Duane, Jay, and George Kenneth. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, 12
noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where family and
friends may gather 11-11:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment, Utah Veterans
Memorial Park.

Johnson, Randall Brent
Randall Brent Johnson 1951 ~ 2005 Randall Brent Johnson, born June 16, 1951,
has passed away April 17, 2005. Taken from his family far too soon, he leaves
behind his precious wife, Susan Jeanette Johnson, his brother, Richard Johnson
and sister, Pat Schulte. He is missed by his daughters, Rebecca, Rachel,
Michelle, Melissa, and Amber, his son, Andrew, son-in-laws, Brian Brooke, Jaak
Gilmore, Patrick Madigan, Shawn Casey, Michael Shepard and daughter-in-law
Tessa Johnson. Randy possessed a bottomless wisdom gleaned from hard work and
the struggles of his life. Randy grew up in Box Elder County, served a mission
to Ireland, and was married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple to Sue, May 1973. He
served in many positions within the LDS Church, but loved all of his years
serving in the Boy Scout program. Funeral services will be held Thursday,
April 21, 2005 at 12 noon at the Valley View III Ward Chapel, 1410 East
Gentile Street, Layton, Utah where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 -
8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Finally

King, Sandra Louise
Sandra Louise King Sandy Bird Sandra Louise King, the beloved daughter of
Clair E. and Emma King, passed away April 18, 2005 of complications from
diabetes. She was born March 22, 1938 in Wendell, Idaho. She retired from the
Social Security Office in Seattle. Growing up she wanted to be a comedienne,
and with her quick wit and lively sense of humor, she was a natural. She was
an accomplished cook and won many blue ribbons for her bread. Sandra married
Lenin Bird in 1958 in Elko. They were later divorced. She is survived by their
four children: Debra Bird, Michael Bird, Douglas Bird and Stephanie Bird. Her
grandchildren: Charles, Nikki, Michael, Sandra, Misty, Stephanie, Cecelia,
Jessica, Norman, Bobbi, Destiny, Makayla, Ethan, Breanna, Charles, Jr., Logan,
Anthony and Jacob, were the stars of her universe. To meet her was to hear the
latest story about one of them. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly
King and her father. She was proud of being a great-granddaughter of Parley P.

Lamoreaux, Jesse Bert
Jesse Bert Lamoreaux "Jackpot J.B." SALT LAKE CITY - Jesse Bert Lamoreaux, age
59, passed away April 18, 2005 at Cottonwood Hospital of bladder cancer. He
was born July 13, 1945 in Provo, Utah to Jesse Lamond and Cecil Argyle. Jesse
married Linda Lee Brady August 4, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He retired from
First Security Bank in April 2000 and enjoyed working at Home Depot for the
past year. Jesse and Linda had two children Kristie Lee (Gary) Smith and Bryan
Lamond (Krystal) Lamoreaux. He has ten grandchildren, Brent, Kimberly, Alan,
Hunter, Jake, Trevor, Jessie, Brady, Luke and Lincoln and two great
grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron. Jesse's quiet sense of humor and the loving
compassion he gave to his family and friends will be greatly missed. His
grandchildren and great-grand-children were the bright spot in his life and
brought him great comfort. Jesse enjoyed his summers at the beach and
traveling in his customized van. He is preceded in death by his father.
Survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, mother;
brothers: Jerry (Josel), Cedar Fort, Dennis (Debbie), Vernal; sister, Laura
(Dave) Houle, American Fork; five nieces, 10 nephews; sister-in-law, Oleah

Littlefield, Afton Shaw
Afton Shaw Littlefield 1916 ~2005 Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt
and friend passed away of natural causes on April 18, 2005. Afton was born in
Highland Boy, Ut. on October 14, 1916, the daughter of Arthur and Vera
Victoria Smith Shaw. The family moved to Draper, Ut. when Afton was in third
grade. She attended school in Draper and then graduated from Jordan High in
1935. She attended BYU for two years and then worked for the State Auditors
Office and the State Tax Commission. She married Waldo L. Littlefield on March
30, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1999. They were the parents of
three sons; Lyman (Margaret), Paul (Kathleen) and Mike (Jan). She leaves four
grandchildren: Jeffrey, Ryan, Lauren and Kellie Littlefield. She had many
interests including bowling, golfing and gardening. She enjoyed a special
relationship with her sister, Donna. They had fun going to lunch and even
going to doctor's appointments. She loved all of her nieces and nephews. She
was a life long member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities in the
wards where she lived. She is survived by her three children and their
spouses; her four grandchildren; two brothers Richard (Marine) Shaw; Robert
(Pat) Shaw and sister Donna (Lawrence) Gough. She was preceded in death by her
husband, her parents, one sister and three brothers. Funeral Services will be
held Wednesday April 20, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel
3401 Highland Drive. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services at
the mortuary. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Utah Food Bank.

Merriam, Edgar Drew
Edgar Drew Merriam 1932 ~ 2005 Edgar Drew Merriam passed away of a massive
heart attack at the place that he loved the most, surrounded by his children
and grandchildren. Drew was a man that believed in a hard day's work. He was
employed by Nell's Motor for over 40 years. He was a civic minded man who
believed in serving his community. He served as Manti's Fire Chief for 16
years and 30 years overall on the Manti Fire Department. He coached Little
League baseball before and after his sons were of age. He was a member of the
Riding, JC's, and Lions clubs. His family was his life and he was happiest
when he was surrounded by them. He supported his children in everything they
wanted to do, and if you asked him, his grandkids and great-grandkids were the
smartest, most talented, perfect kids in the whole world. He was a loyal
friend and enjoyed having coffee with his friends every morning at the cafe.
He was a courageous man who proudly served his country in the Korean War. He
was a wonderful person and he will be missed by so many people. Drew was born
second of ten children to Edger and Vonda Merriam on December 11th 1932. He
passed away April, 17th 2005 at his summer home in Grassvalley. He is survived
by his wife Joy Merriam of 50 years, daddy's little girl: Sandy (Keith)
Nunley, sons: Troy (Mandee) Merriam, Todd (Lorrie) Merriam, 10 grandchildren
five great-grandchildren, two brothers, five sisters, four sister-in-laws.
Preceded in death by: parents: Edgar and Vonda Merriam, Joy's Parents Leo and
Louise Christensen, two sisters, seven brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April, 22nd 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at the

Miller Jr., Ronald "Dennis"
Ronald "Dennis" Miller, Jr. Will be missed Our much loved son, brother, uncle
and friend, Dennis, died unexpectedly at his mother's home in Salt Lake on
April 16, 2005. He was born April 4, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ronald
and Mildred Miller. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1979 and then
from the University of Utah with a degree in Recreation and Leisure. (Yes, it
is a real major!) He married Launi Berg in 1990 (later divorced). He had a
successful business career in finance and leasing. Among his friends in the
business world he was known as the "elephant hunter" because he always closed
the really big deals. He built a beautiful home in Park City where family and
friends were always welcome. He married Carol Richardson in 1998 (later
divorced). He loved water-skiing, golf, basketball, U of U sports, the Oakland
Raiders, singing and playing his guitar, James Taylor, Kenny Loggins,
houseboats at Lake Powell, parties with friends, and cooking and eating good
food. Most of all, Dennis loved his family and friends. He was the ultimate
friend and touched many lives for good. He had a gift of noticing the needs of
others and always tried to meet those needs. He was preceded in death by his
father. Survived by his mother, his older sisters, Cheri Muir (David) and Lori
Evans (Guy), and his younger brothers, Steven, Matt (Jen), Chris (Tera) and
Mark (Cristina), 17 nieces and nephews, and innumerable friends. He was an
Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services for
Dennis will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Canyon Rim
3rd Ward, 3051 South 2900 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Friends may call on
Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251

Packer, Margaret Isabel
Margaret Isabel Packcr 1910 ~ 2005 Margaret Isabel Packer passed away on April
17, 2005 at the age of 95. She was born on February 8, 1910 in Salt Lake City,
Utah to WiIliam Frisby Tuckett and Isabella Cameron Tuckett. Peggy (as she
preferred to be called) married Lyman Romer Packer in the Salt Lake City LDS
Temple on January 14, 1932. She is survived by her son Richard (Mardean) in
Idaho, three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her parents and two
brothers preceded her in death. Peggy spent her life in service in The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her friends and to her family. She has
served in many ward positions and as a worker in the LDS Oakland Temple for
approximately 10 years. In addition, she has served as a PTA President. She
wanted to enhance the life of those around her. She loved her son, her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to
attend a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. held at the Santa Clara Ward, 876 Quince
Ave, Santa Clara, California on Thursday, April 21, with a visitation
beginning at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a funeral service on Saturday, April 23, at
11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, Utah.

Rowley, Shirley H.
Shirley H. Rowley 1922 ~ 2005 Shirley Henderson Rowley, mother, aunt and
friend, returned to her Father in Heaven on April 15, 2005. Shirley was the
third daughter born to Alma John and Janet Smith Henderson on October 15,
1922. Shirley has been suffering from Alzheimer's for over 10 years and was
living at the Alta Infinia Health Care Center at her passing. She lived at the
Millcreek Heath Center for nine years prior. Shirley grew up and lived most of
her life in Draper, Utah on Relation Street. There she and her four sisters
worked and played on the family farm and raised chickens. Shirley spent her
life caring and giving to others. Shirley had a wonderful sense of humor right
until the end of her life. She loved shopping, singing, traveling, bowling,
golfing, dancing and raising beautiful flowers. Shirley worked for JayLynn
Studios as an award winning child photographer, for Replicolor as a
photo-retouch lab technician, and First Security Bank as a keypunch operator.
Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lorna Moore, Lova Carter and Betty
Henderson. She is survived by her cherished son, David R. Rowley Jr.; sister,
Dorothy Judd (Tom); 13 nieces and nephews. A memorial to her life will be held
Friday, April 22, 2005, at 12 noon at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street. A
private family viewing will be held 30 minutes prior to services. Interment
will be at Draper City Cemetery. A very special thanks to the Alta Infinia
Health Care Center and the Millcreek Health Center.

Siddoway, Nancy Lois
Nancy Lois Siddoway "Our Little Sunshine" Nancy Lois Siddoway, 67, returned to
the arms of our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, at the home of her
sister in Taylorsville, April 17, 2005. Born August 18, 1937, the last of six
children of Francis "Frank" Armstrong Siddoway and Mary Andersen. Nancy was
one of our Heavenly Father's special children who touched many people's lives.
She brought much joy and happiness to her family and those around her. She had
special ways of expressing her love and affection. She taught us many valuable
and important things in life. Nancy loved pizza, hamburgers and ice cream, as
well as beautiful spring flowers and music. She spent many happy hours
listening to her old time records and tapes. She especially loved Primary
songs and country music. Nancy enjoyed working at the South Valley Center and
the TTT Center. She participated in the Special Olympics and other activities.
Nancy was the oldest living person with Down's Syndrome. We will miss her
teasing, laughing and the special songs she sang to us. We laughed a lot
together and had fun at our family picnics, barbeques and birthday parties.
She is survived by her brothers, Francis (Merlene) Siddoway and Ben Siddoway;
sister, Edna Allison; and special cousin, Daryle Tatom. She was preceded in
death by her parents; brother, Dan; sister, Ellen; sisters-in-law, Erma and
Beryl; brother-in-law, Jimmy Allison; nephews, Robert Allison and Eddie
Siddoway whom are waiting anxiously to welcome her home. Special thanks to
those at the West Jordan Care Center for all the love and care they gave our
sister while she lived there, Life Path Hospice, as well as all the leaders
and friends from the Heritage 5th Branch for your love and concern. We look
forward to the time when we can be together again. Families can be together
forever. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at the Heritage

Jack G. Sperry 1928 ~ 2005 NEPHI- Jack Goble Sperry, age 76, passed away April
17, 2005 in Nephi, Utah. He was born July 21, 1928 in Nephi, Utah to William
George and Marion LaPreal Goble Sperry. He was an active member of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a High Priest. He loved to
provide service to others. He loved music. He is survived by three brothers,
Ted (Nancy) Sperry of Nephi; Max (Marva) Sperry of Salt Lake City; Kenneth
(Kathy) Sperry of Cedar City; sister-in-law, Beth Sperry of Nephi; nephews and
nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Karen; brother, William L.
Sperry. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., April 22, 2005 in the
Nephi 2nd Ward, 222 S. 100 E. Friends may call Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. at

Bob Thorstenson 11/14/43 ~ 4/18/05 "Will be Missed" Our loving husband,
father, and grandfather, Bob Thorstenson, passed away April 18, 2005 in West
Jordan, Utah after a long illness. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Robert
Edward Thorstenson and Margaret Malinda Shermer Strand. Bob married his
sweetheart, Karen Jean Renick, on January 16, 1965. Bob worked as a Production
Control Manager at Litton Industries for over 35 years. He is survived by his
wife, Karen; three children, Lee (Mike) Geer, Peggy (Andy) Underdahl, James
(Heather) Thorstenson; two sisters, Jane Preston, Lois Kilty; six
grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Zachary, Matthew, Brittney, and Damon. Preceded
in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 22,
2005 at 2 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street. A visitation
for family and friends will be from 1-2 p.m. on Friday prior to services.

Gary Neves Trolson 1937 ~ 2005 Gary Neves Trolson, 67, passed away April 17,
2005 in West Valley City, Utah. Born December 18, 1937 in Logan, Utah. Married
Elna Jane Yeates July 5, 1954 in Nibley, Utah. He was a master mechanic,
always willing to share his knowledge with others. He retired from Rowley's
Texaco. He was a family man who enjoyed classic cars, hunting, fishing,
waterskiing and going to Wendover. Survived by wife, Elna; children: Steven
(Suzanne), Sheila, Richard (Sheila), Kent (Charlene); grandsons: Eric,
Nicholas, Jason (serving an LDS mission in Nicaragua), Brandon, Travis Trolson
and Jeremy Montoya; granddaughters: Holly (Jurney) Ledesma, Heather and Nicole
Montoya, Jennifer, Heidi and Desiree Trolson; great-grandsons: Cameron and
Brady Ledesma, Joseph "JoJo" Toiaivao; mother-in-law, Leona Yeates; and
numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by mother, Alene
Trolson; son, Curtis; beloved grandmothers, Emmaline Clifford and Maggie
Neves. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at
Promise Specialty Hospital and Dr. Gregory Dupont. Funeral services will be

Vaccaro, Carl
Carl Vaccaro "Kirk" 1927 ~ 2005 Carl Vaccaro passed away April 17, 2005. He
was born on Feb. 19, 1927 in Bountiful, Utah to John and Catherine Vaccaro.
Served in the army during World War II. Returned home to Murray, UT and worked
at Kennecott Copper. Married Rosemary Marcovecchio on Sept 29, 1951. Together
they had three children, Carla Lloyd (Robert) of Syracuse, NY; Gloria
Archuleta (Lorenzo), Murray, UT and Shawn Vaccaro (Kim) of Draper, UT. He
later went into the farming business in Draper, UT. with his two
brothers-in-law. Was a very successful farmer doing what he loved most -
growing vegetables, working the soil and being outdoors. He loved fishing and
hunting with his brothers, son and friends. After his retirement, he grew many
vegetables in his garden of which he shared with friends and neighbors. He
loved his family, friends and neighbors to visit and had family dinners
together. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Boyd and Paul Vaccaro;
sisters, Isabelle Coccimiglio, Dolores Bilanzich, Laura Thompson. Survived by
brother, Gerald Vaccaro; sisters, Madeline Preston, Victoria Stephens. The
family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Alta View Hospital for

Wanda Fern King Whittle "Mom Forever" Wanda Fern King Whittle, age 81, passed
away April 18, 2005 in Draper, Utah. Born June 27, 1923 in East Millcreek,
Utah, daughter of John Howick and Rowen Hawkins King. Married Ronald C.
Whittle July 15, 1942; solemnized May 17, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. She
enjoyed sewing, music, art and poetry. She was very involved in community
service including Scouts and PTA. Retired from Beehive Clothing. Active member
of the LDS Church where she served in Young Women's, Primary and Sunday
School. Survived by daughters: Loretta (Larry) Wadsworth; Sheree (Layne)
Naylor; son, David (Connie) Whittle; nine grandchildren; 22
great-grand-children; sisters: Lorene (George) Wilson, Lena (Matt) Borovatz;
brother, Marlon (Virginia) King. Preceded in death by her husband. Funeral
services will be held Friday, 12 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South
Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday,
11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

Williams, Gayleen
Gayleen Mason Williams "Baby Doll" Gayleen Mason Williams born Sept. 5, 1959
to Gayland and Noreen Mason, the most loving, caring parents a daughter could
ask for, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005 after a long courageous battle
with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, including daughters
Angela, Stephanie, and son, Alex. Gayleen had a zest for living and lived life
to the fullest as long as she was able. She enjoyed scuba diving, quilting,
scrap-booking, writing and studying the gospel. Her greatest accomplishments
are her three wonderful children who brought her so much joy. She is survived
by her children, loving parents, sisters, Vickie (Steven) Gatherum, Brenda
Mason, Kristine (Craig) Brown and Sheila (Steven) Wall, numerous nieces and
nephews and her sweetheart Bobby Solomon, who filled her last days with love.
Gayleen was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell Mason and General
Randall L. Mason, her guardian angels. In lieu of flowers, Gayleen has
requested donations be made to Murray Greenhouse Foundation (In honor of her
nephew, Riley Wall), 2646 East 6710 So., SLC, UT 84121. Our thanks go to Dr.
