Born May 1, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William and Katie Jensen. Married Delbert Clifford Stef-fensen March 23, 1946. "Nan" was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, and friend who always put everyone else's needs above her own. Her favorite moments were being surrounded by those she loved, laughing, listening to music, telling stories and of course enjoying a good meal! She will be greatly missed. Survived by two children, Pamela Marquardt, and Del "Chris" Steffensen (Melanie); five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Del; grandson, Tyler Marquardt; her parents; and nine brothers and sisters. Harry Doctorman 1919 ~ 2005 Harry J. Doctorman passed away Saturday August 20, 2005 at the age of 86 after living a long, happy, successful and hard-working life. He was dedicated to his family, his faith, and his business. He was born June 30, 1919 in Salt Lake City to Yetta Cheit and Joe Doctorman. His parents had immigrated from Eastern Europe a few years before his birth. After the birth of his sisters, Irene and Marjorie, Yetta passed away and his father married Yetta's sister, Celia Chait. Harry graduated from South High School. As a teenager he entered the meat packing business with his father and mother. In the 1930's they began a business named Joe Doctorman and Son Meat Packing, Inc. and together the family grew the business into the largest meat packing business in Utah, buying and selling meat products primarily throughout the Intermountain West and in Great Britain and Japan. Later in life, Harry started his second career developing real estate known as Access Business Center. Harry was a devotedly conservative Jew practicing his beliefs daily. He was a member of Congregation Kol Ami and the Montifiore Synagogue. In 1947 he married Eleanor Stein. He courted her after falling in love at first site, meeting her at a friend's wedding in San Francisco. They married in Oakland, California after a long distance courtship. After 52 years of marriage she preceded him in death. Harry is also preceded by his father, Joe; and mothers, Yetta and Celia. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Michael) Golub; sons, Gary (Karen) Doctorman and Benjamin (Alexandra) Doctorman; and grandchildren, Gwendolyn Golub, Gregory Golub (Kelly), Gavin Golub, Claire Doctorman, Samuel Joseph Doctorman, Leo Doctorman, Steven Doctorman; great-grand-daughters, Sophia and Camille Golub; sisters, Irene (Nat) Levine and Marjorie (Harold) Rosen; and nieces, Judy Magid and Ricki Rosen; and nephews, Michael Levin and Barry Rosen. Dunford, Logen Wayne Logen Wayne Dunford 08/19/05 SYRACUSE - Our sweet little Logen arrived August 19, 2005, just a quick two minutes after his big brother. After beating all the odds to get here and fighting so hard, he could only stay a short six hours, long enough to meet his Mom and Dad, brother and sisters, and his Grandparents. We were lucky enough to say hello and blessed enough to be able to hold and kiss him and then say goodbye as he peacefully returned to Heavenly Father. While our hearts are aching, we know that he is ours forever, and Logen we are truly privileged to have enjoyed your little soul through a tough pregnancy for you and your brother and your brief moment here. You are forever in our hearts if not in our arms. Logen is survived by his twin brother, Cole; big brother, Ian; and big sisters, Sara and Aislynn. He is also survived by his dad and mom, Chad and Leanne Dunford; his Grandparents, Lynn and Kaye Manhart, and Mundi and Lois Pedersen; many Aunts, Uncles and cousins; and two Great-Grandmas, Helen Dunford and Jean Laws. Gardner Thayer, Frances Jane Frances Jane Gardner Thayer "In Loving Memory" My mom, Frances Jane, passed away August 18, 2005 in Boulder City, Nevada. Born December 2, 1913 in Moroni, Utah to Angelo Simpson and Jane Prestwich. She married Kenneth Gardner in 1932 in the Salt Lake Temple and was active in the LDS Church. He preceded her in death in 1951. Then married a wonderful man, Leo Thayer, in 1975. Leo and Frances spent their time between Salt Lake, Las Vegas, and Willow Beach, AZ. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was a retired dental assistant. She loved to dance. She loved and enjoyed her family, friends, and great neighbors. They were special to her. Survived by her daughter, Dorothy Ann Helm; and three grandchildren, Daniel Jr. (Nancy) Helm, Kenneth (Diana) Helm, and John Helm; four great-grandchildren, Heather, Daniel III, Ashly, and Sadie. Preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene; son-in-law, Ray; and granddaughter, Vernita Bowen. She loved her grandsons and great-grandchildren, they were her greatest joy. Grandma came from a wonderful family with many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including May Lisonbee, Fern Wakefield, Patsy White, Tom Averett, Gary Simpson, and more. Gibby Facer, Ellen Louise Ellen Louise Gibby Facer 1913 ~ 2005 Ellen Louise Gibby Facer, age 92, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmoth-er, and friend to many passed away peacefully August 19th, 2005. Louise was born May 25, 1913 in Salt Lake City, Utah the third child of George Edward and Mary Emily Linford Gibby. She was raised in Pocatello, Idaho. She married Elden Jackson Facer, September 24, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Louise was a faithful and devoted wife and mother. She loved people and had many friends. She enjoyed literature, music, poetry, and was a talented artist and seamstress. She was an active member of the LDS Church having served in many ward and stake callings. She served two missions with her husband in the Swiss Temple. Their lives were enriched through extensive travels for work and pleasure. She is survived by her six children, James C. Facer (Sylvia), Jeannette Martin (John), Wayne G. Facer (Mary Gayle), Peggy J. Andersen (John), Marjory Thueson (Craig), Lois Salmon (Kevin); as well as 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years. With gratitude, her family acknowledges Hazen Care Center for the loving and compassionate care that she received. Johnson, Hagan Holladay Hagan Holladay Johnson 4/27/95 ~ 8/19/05 Surrounded by his family, Hagan passed away at 8:50 p.m. August 19, 2005 after an eight year battle due to an anoxic brain injury. Hagan was one who needed not to be taught in this life, but instead he was a teacher for us all. Though physically disabled, his spirit was strong. "God watched you as you suffered. He knew you'd had your share. He gently closed your weary eyes, took you in his care. God has you in His keeping; we have you in our hearts. Your memory is our keepsake, with that we'll never part, God saw you getting tired. A cure was not to be. So, He put His arms around you. He whispered, "Come unto me." With tearful eyes we watched as you suffered and faded away. Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands to rest. Nelson, Richard "Rick" Richard (Rick) Nelson 1937 ~ 2005 Richard (Rick) Nelson, age 68, passed away August 20, 2005 after a year long battle with prostate cancer. He was born January 21, 1937 in Aurora, Illinois to Arthur Stacey and Frances Rogan Nelson. Rick served in the United States Army for three years. He married Julie Haws February 21, 1980; later divorced, but remained good friends. Rick worked at Creasey Catering for 30 plus years because he loved the people. He made lifelong friends during those years and loved the interaction he had with the people on his route. Rick was an awesome dad and his two sons meant the world to him. He loved and supported them in everything they did. Rick is survived by his sons, Christopher (Katie Jo) Nelson, and Anthony Nelson, who is currently serving with the Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma; caregiver and friend, Julie Vermaas; brother, Don (Toni) Nelson, Arizona. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Artie; and his baby daughter, Missy. Rick will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 23rd from 6-8 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal (7600 S). As per Rick's wishes, he will be cremated with a family service to follow at the gravesite. Palmer "Monty" LEAMINGTON - LaMond Edward Palmer, age 66, our beloved husband, father, brother, friend, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2005 at his home in Leamington, Utah after valiantly enduring many years with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born March 4, 1939 in Marysvale, Utah to Edward and Sadie Hansen Palmer. He married Madalene McIntoch in 1958; divorced in 1968. He married Nancy Belliston, February 5, 1972 in Pendleton, OR. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Monty grew up in and around Marysvale, doing odd jobs for farmers as he became old enough. He loved tramping the mountains there. He worked many jobs in his lifetime, the last and most enjoyed was working 18 years for Millard County Parks and Recreation as a groundskeeper retiring in March of 2001. He liked working in the yard. His passion was being in the mountains fishing or hunting. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, a son and grandson, Lani Cantrell (David Oxborrow) of Las Vegas, NV, Lora (Robert) Schaefermeyer and Timothy of North Salt Lake, UT, Devin (Liz) Palmer of Holladay, UT; two brothers, LuDale Palmer of Beaver Dam, AZ and Doyle Palmer of Cedar City, UT. Preceded in death by his parents; and half-brother, Theron Hansen. In loving memory of our husband and father, we wish to thank all those who caringly gave hours of service through hospice, and to all our friends who lovingly came to visit him and take him for rides in his last months. Perry, Mignon Mignon Perry 6/08/1920 ~ 8/20/2005 Mignon Perry, beloved sister and aunt, died peacefully August 20, 2005, in Salt Lake City. She was born June 8, 1920 in Rexburg, Idaho the daughter of Nora Sonne and Leslie Thomas Perry. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, devoting many hours of service to various ward and stake callings, which included service in Young Women and Relief Society presidencies, as a stake missionary, a Gospel Doctrine teacher, and a Salt Lake Temple worker. She also was an active member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoyed researching the history of her family. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Home Economics Education, and later completed a M.S. degree in Clothing and Textiles from Utah State University. She earned a Ph.D. degree from Cornell University with a major in Housing and Design. Mignon's distinguished professional career included teaching at a variety of schools, Ririe High School, and Ricks College in Idaho, Utah State University, and as a professor at Washington State University in Pullman where she taught for 27 years, serving as chair of the Clothing, Textile and Interior Design Department for 22 years. During that time, she was honored with an Outstanding Teacher award. During her career, she had the opportunity to be a visiting professor at various universities including the University of New Hampshire, University of Washington, Arizona State University, and BYU. Because of her interest in cross-cultural studies, she became a world traveler and taught in other countries such as Canada and Malaysia. Mignon was a supporter of the arts and was active in community theater, arts and crafts groups in most of the communities where she lived. She also was a docent for the Fine Arts Museum on the Washington State University campus. She is survived by her brothers, Elder L. Tom Perry (Barbara), and Ted S. Perry (Jean); as well as 16 nieces and nephews; and numerous grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Zada Adams (Louis J.), Gay Kowallis (Albert); brother, Robert Perry (Belva); and a niece and a nephew. Funeral services will be 12 noon Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the Salt Lake Stake Center, 142 W. 200 North, Salt Lake City, where friends and family may call from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Richardson, Lynn Lott Lynn Lott Richardson 8/28/1942 ~ 8/20/2005 Lynn Lott Richardson, born August 28, 1942, died August 20, 2005 of cancer. Raised in the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, Louisiana, she worked in the office, library, and Sunday School. Married W. H. Richardson, Sr. in Arlington, Texas November 27, 1974; and were sealed July 7, 1977 in the Washington DC Temple with her children, Kristen R. and W. H. Bill, Jr., and their third child, Joseph Henry Richardson was born in the covenant. She served in the Mansfield Branch of the LDS Church as Primary president for 10 years where her husband served as the branch president. She was active in the Pilot Club and served with good friends, Barbara Valentine, Mary Lightfoot, and Nell Norwood. She started a Girl Scout troop and was neighborhood chairman for three years, serving with Bonnie Knapp Ibarra. Later divorced, she moved with her children to Salt Lake City where she served in the Relief Society, Primary, and library. After this move she had tremendous help from friends Renate and Fred Brunsvik, and Yvonne and Steve Wright. Lynn is preceded in death by her father, Henry F. Lott; niece, Kristen Elizabeth Lott; and by aunt, Irene Smith. She is survived by her three children, Kristen, Bill and Corinne Richardson, Joe Richardson; grand-daughters, Sierra Dawn Richardson, Dempsy Lynn McNeice; grandson, Murphy Thomas McNeice; nieces and nephews, Tanya L. (David) Williams, Vicki Lynn (Steve) Hrivnak, Leslie L. Singer, Ariel Rachel Mary Ariel Rachel Mary Singer 1987 ~ 2005 Ariel Rachel Mary Singer drowned in the early morning of 18 August 2005, along with three of her friends. Ariel was born 5 April 1987 in Princeton, New Jersey, but lived, since she was two months of age, in Orem, Utah. Ariel attended American Heritage School, Meridian School, and Orem High School, from whence she graduated in 2004. Our beloved Eo, as her little brothers called her, loved to sing, dance, hike, read, cook and love. She is survived by David and Valerie Hudson Cassler, Eric G. Singer; five brothers, Ben, Joe, John, Tom (her favorite), and Jim; grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She struggled valiantly with incredible emotional challenges, and she was the song of our hearts. A viewing will be held 23 August from 6-8 p.m. at Walker-Sanderson Mortuary, 646 E 800 N, Orem; funeral services will be held at 12 noon 24 August at the Cascade First Ward Chapel, 481 E Center, Orem, with viewing from 10:30-11:30 am.
