Marilyn J Furlong "Non" Marilyn J. Furlong passed away December 20, 2005 in Oroville, CA. Born July 8, 1941 to Alta Mallder Ryan and George T. Ryan. She married Curt A. Furlong June 15, 1960 in Denver, Colorado. Mom was a brave and beautiful woman with a deep love of family and her Salt Lake City heritage. She had tremendous pride for the city, mountains, West High School and the Utah Jazz. The numerous friendships and extended family members she kept over the years contributed to her life in more ways than anyone could know, especially following the loss of dad after 40 years together. She was truly loved and we know she felt this love, as hours before she slipped away she was able to give us one of her famous smiles and a bat of an eyelash. Mom is survived by sons Derek Furlong, West Jordan, UT; Drew Furlong and Kirsten Shultz, Bellevue, ID; daughter Denise Furlong and Jim Nelson, Oroville, CA; grandchildren Kira, Ryan, Tara, Jonas, and Koko; and sister Joyce Avery. Mom is also survived by an incredible group of extended family and loving friends too numerous to mention but you know who you are. Preceded in death by her husband, mother and father. As per mom's wishes there will be a celebration of her life scheduled in the springtime. If you wish, in lieu of flowers you may contribute to your favorite charity. On Sunday, Dec. 18th, he joined her. His loving son, Greg, was there to welcome Dad, too. Born in the mining town of Heiner to Daniel and Maurine, he was reared mostly by his grandpa and grandma Pettit. He also spent lots of time in the care of his wonderful aunties in Manti and Price. Del spent most of his working life in the beauty supply business and for many years owned Paramount Beauty in Utah and Idaho. He was a true salesman. Dad peppered people with questions and loved telling stories. He made friends wherever he traveled, which was widely. In the last year of his life, though, he refused to leave the South Lake Villa. It was where he was surrounded by many good friends and memories. Survived by sons Roger (Beverly) and Dan (Billie). Also survived by grandchildren Alicia (Matt) Cook, Nicole (Jason) Richardson, Janelle (Ben) Harrie, Sam, Greg, Andrew, Paul and Ryan.
