Bennett, Margo Katherine Palmer
Margo Katherine Palmer Bennett 1939 ~ 2005 Margo K. Palmer Bennett, our
beloved mother, passed away peacefully Jan. 18, 2005 at the age of 65. Born
September 6, 1939 in Park City, Utah to Walter Palmer and Katherine "Katie"
Rubick. She married G. Edward "Eddie" Bennett in Salt Lake City on March 28,
1958, who passed away on December 6, 1991. Margo attended St. Mary's/Judge
Memorial Catholic High School and graduated from South High School. She worked
as a cook and waitress at the State, Highland and Sue Rich Bowling Alleys, and
was employed at Evergreen Jr. High School for several years as a media aid in
the school library. She loved reading, working on crossword puzzles, playing
cards, coloring, sewing and creating a variety of keepsakes out of plastic
canvas. Margo was a huge fan of the Utah Jazz, never missing a televised game.
She traveled often to Wendover, Nevada, where she would sit for countless
hours feeding dollars into the red, white and blue 7's. Margo was a very
loving woman with a heart of gold; she and Eddie opened their home to dozens
of children and others over the years, treating each of them as their own. She
is survived by her three sons; James E. (Shauna Rosenlund) Bennett, W. Scott
(Teresa) Bennett, Edward M. (Sarah) Bennett, and her daughter Kim M. (David)
Auberger; seven grandchildren; Chari Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Austin
Auberger, Nishelle Auberger, Lilyan Bennett, Gavin Bennett and Weston Nalley;
her mother Katherine "Katie" Palmer; brothers; Walter (Judy) Palmer, Draper,
Utah; Jody (Londa) Palmer, Midvale, Utah; Mark (Lisa) Palmer, Murray, Utah and
sisters; Annette (Larry) Martin, Loveland, Colorado; Carla Palmer, Murray,
Utah; Roberta (Tom) McCormick, Sandy, Utah; Kalani (Rick) Huber, West Valley
City, Utah; Melanie Palmer, Murray, Utah. She was preceded in death by her
father Walter Palmer, brother James Palmer, sister Sheri (Ron) Fazzio,
Loveland, Colorado and Lucy "Teta" Rubicic. Margo leaves several aunts,
uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, "foster" children and friends. Mom will
always be in our thought and prayers, but we know she is at peace with dad,
grandpa, Teta, Sheri and all the others she has longed to see again. We would
like to thank all of the wonderful people at Care Source for helping to care
for mom over the past several months and for the loving support provided by
the staff at the Wentworth. A funeral mass will be celebrated Sat. at 11:00
a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane (5000 S.). A
vigil service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. also at the church, where
friends may call from 6-7 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th

Bogue, Edmond Dennis
Edmond Dennis Bogue "Big Ed" 4/27/48 ~ 1/13/05 Edmond Dennis Bogue born April
27, 1948 to Edmond John and Ilene Sheridan Bogue died January 13, 2005.
Married Peggy Meecham, June 5, 1968. They had two children, Edmond John and
Brenda Merie. Ed was a free spirit who couldn't be confined by a day-to-day
job. He was an independent gold miner who traveled the world and followed his
dreams. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who fell in love with Alaska as a
young boy when he lived there with his dad. He returned many times during his
life to live there and in pursuit of fish and game and also mining projects.
The light of his life was his granddaughter, Edlena Merie. Survived by his
wife, Peggy; son, John; daughter, Brenda (Jesse) Mit-chell; granddaughters,
Edlena, Tori and Cheyenne Mitchell; grandson, Macoy Mitchell; special little
buddy, Alex Sullivan; mother and stepfather, Robert and Ilene Kemp; brothers,
Robert (Kristy) Kemp, Brent Kemp, Kevin (Julie) Bogue; sisters, Sandra (Doug)
Trappett, Shirley (Steve) Yates; Robyn Kemp, Kay (Alan) Wright;
brother-in-law, Bill (Jana) Meecham; sisters-in-law, Debi Coster, Barbara
(Randy) Neff; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Edmond John Bogue; father and mother-in-law,
Bill and Helen Mee-cham; and his special grandma Goose Mary Ann Bogue. There
will be a visitation held Friday January 21st, 6-9 p.m. at Redwood Memorial
Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road.

Christofferson, Richard Wayne
Richard Wayne Christofferson 1951 ~ 2005 Richard Wayne Christofferson (Rick)
was born September 30, 1951, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Wayne F. and G. Elaine
(Davis) Christofferson. Rick died on Human Right's Day, January 17, 2005, in
Salt Lake City, Utah; from complications due to a long-term illness. Rick
graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello in 1969. Rick served in the
U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Rick enjoyed many years of supervising Keno
in Wendover, Nevada. In 1973 Rick married Colleen Harriet Smith, later
divorced. Rick is survived by his best friend, and canine companion,
"Sweetheart"; children: Richard D. (Jodi) Christofferson, Ogden, UT; Sheila D.
(Gary) Breshears, Lehi, UT; Robert Wilcox, Tooele, UT; mother, G. Elaine
Christofferson, Saratoga Springs, UT; one brother and four sisters, Helen
(Moe) Graham, Preston, Idaho; Larry (Wendy) Christofferson, Olathe, CO; Sandra
Christofferson, Tremonton, UT; sister, Tracy (Willie) Frisbie, Castle Dale,
UT; Kaye Lyn (Rex) Funk, Saratoga Springs, UT; seven grandchildren, one
great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by
his father, a sister and a nephew. A graveside Veteran's Memorial Service will
be held in his honor at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 21st at the Camp

Feild, Rosalyn M.
Rosalyn M. Feild "Beloved Mother" Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and
great-grandmother, Rosalyn M. Feild, 84, returned home to her Heavenly Father
on January 14, 2005. Born March 6, 1920, daughter of William and Louisa Jensen
of Long Beach, California. She met and married her eternal companion Jess
Delbert Feild on September 7, 1939, later sealed on September 7, 1961 in the
Salt Lake Temple. Survived by three children, Lana (Richard) Jex of Logan,
Utah, Gay (Bill) Foust of Missoula, Montana, and Delbert (Edie) Feild of
Snohomish, Washington; brother Gordon (Carolyn) Jensen; 17 grandchildren and
30 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Jess and her oldest
daughter Barbara (Richard) Kristensen of Bountiful, Utah, brother William
(Ruth) Jensen, and sister Allys Jensen. What a happy reunion. Funeral services
will be Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E.
South Temple, where friends may call Friday 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. Graveside
service will be in the Brigham City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Fuller, Emmy Lee
Emmy Lee Fuller Will Be Missed Emmy Lee Fuller was stillborn on January 13,
2005 in Boise at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center to Frank R. and Brooke
Critchfield Fuller of Nampa. Emmy is now in the loving care of her Heavenly
Father and her older brother, Ethan. We were blessed with another special
child for a special reason, which we don't completely understand. Because of
our precious baby girl, Emmy, our joys will be greater, our love will be
deeper and our lives will be richer. She is survived by her parents,
grandparents: Roy and Nancy Fuller of Tremonton, UT, and Reed and Karla
Critchfield of Hyrum, UT, great- grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan 21 at 2 p.m. in the Tremonton 3rd
Ward LDS Chapel, 9590 N. 6800 W, Tremonton, Utah. A viewing will be held
Wednesday Jan. 19 from 7-9 p.m. at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd.

Funk, Charles "Earl"
Charles "Earl" Funk 1911 ~ 2005 "Grandpa Earl", the greatest Father,
Grandfather and friend to all, passed away January 17, 2005 with his family by
his side. He lived 93 wonderful years. He was born July 31, 1911 in
Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to Roy Heller Funk and Henrietta Rock Funk. The
youngest of three boys, he had a great life fishing, studying and working by
his father's side. He attended Quincy High School, Quincy, Pa. and went on to
apprentice the trade of tool and die maker following in his father's trade.
Later he worked in Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro. He met the only true love
of his life, Louise Anna Moats in high school. They married July 28, 1935 in
Washington, DC. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple June 19, 1946. In
July 1958, the family, along with his two best friend's families moved to Salt
Lake. Earl loved the Lord and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints he served in many capacities including counselor in several
Bishoprics, Guide at the Bishop's Storehouse for six years and as an ordinance
worked in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. He loved serving anywhere he
was called and made many friends in the service of the Lord. Louise preceded
him in death in 1995 as well as his sweet Trudy Ann, who died at age 5. He is
survived by his son Roy E. Funk and wife Toodie, grandchildren Tiffany Funk,
Travis (Rachelle) Funk, Alisa Floyd (Mike) Floyd, Cody (Kim) Funk. He lovingly
adopted Toodie's children Todd Howard, Katie Howard, Kris Howard and Dan West
and loved them as his own. He was so proud of Kris who is now serving in the
Geneva Switzerland Mission. Also surviving him are great-grandchildren Kieryn
Funk and Lewis Cootey. He taught all of us how to love unconditionally. Thank
you grandpa for all the love we ever needed. We will all miss you so very
much. Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Edgehill lst Ward, 1750 South 1500 East, SLC, UT. Friends may call Thursday
January 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East
1300 South, SLC, UT and Friday 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Interment
will be in Quincy, Pa.

Hansen, Hyrum Dee
Hyrum Dee Hansen 1912 ~ 2005 Hyrum Dee Hansen, 92, of Fountain Green, UT, died
Jan. 16, 2005 in his home of natural causes. Hyrum Dee Hansen was born March
5, 1912 in Fountain Green, UT. Hyrum Dee was a member of the LDS Church. He
graduated from Moroni High School and Utah State University. He met his
sweetheart, Mary Anne Butler, in Logan, while attending Utah State University
and was married June 8, 1938 in the Logan Temple. After graduating from Utah
State University, he began working for the USDA and SCS. His first appointment
was in Safford, AZ. When the US entered World War II, Hyrum Dee joined the
Navy. He served his country in this capacity from April 1944 to Oct 1945 in
the Pacific Theater. After the War, Hyrum Dee returned to his chosen career,
Soil Conservation. In 1946 he was transferred to Lehi, UT, then in 1958 to
Castle Dale, UT. Hyrum Dee retired in 1973 after 35 years with the Soil
Conservation Service. Following his retirement, he moved back to the family
farm in Fountain Green, UT, where he has enjoyed farming and working with
animals since that time. Hyrum Dee has been involved in church work throughout
his life and was active in the Lions Club for 55 years. Survived by 11
children: Deanna (Odell) Rice, Malad, ID; Marilyn (Peter) Hansen, Ivins, UT;
Carol (Tom) Wayman, Manti, UT; Richard (Carol) Hansen, Glendale, AZ; David
(Rolayne) Hansen, Modesto, CA; Glen (Jill) Hansen, New Harmony, UT; Gail
Petersen, Inkom, ID; Elizabeth (Michael) Ward, Monmouth, OR; Jane (Rian)
Anderson, Fairview, UT; Niels Hansen, Ogden, UT; Rebecca (Lynn) Larson, Price,
UT; three sisters: Verl Brady, Las Vegas, NV; Rachel Syme, Fountain Green, UT
and Dora Spencer, Bountiful, UT. Preceded in death by parents, Alice and Hyrum
Hansen; wife, Mary Annie Butler Hansen; brother Lloyd Hansen and sisters, Beth
Anderson and Doris Hansen. Funeral services Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 at 2:00
p.m. in the Fountain Green LDS Chapel. Friends may call Fri. from 6-8 p.m. and
Sat. from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment in the Fountain Green
Cemetery.

Hellstrom, Fred
Fred Hellstrom 1919 ~ 2005 BICKNELL, UTAH - Carl Fredrick "Fred" Hellstrom,
age 85, of Bicknell, died Jan. 17, 2005 in Gunnison, Utah. He was born April
4, 1919 in Randolph, Utah, a son of Leonard Leroy and Luella Vilate Longhurst
Hellstrom. He graduated from South Rich High School, Class of 1937, where he
excelled in Basketball. He got his Bachelor's Degree from Utah State and his
Master's Degree from Colorado A&M. Fred married Dal Marr Hurst, April 24, 1942
in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In the fall of 1942 he went into the army and
served during World War II from October of 1942 to December of 1945. He served
in Hawaii and Iwo Jima. Fred taught school in Cokeville, Wyoming for two years
and then moved to Bicknell, Utah where he taught Vocational Agriculture at
Wayne High School for 32 years, retiring in 1984. Fred and Dal Marr worked at
the Manti Temple as Ordinance Workers. They served a mission for the LDS
Church in the Missouri St. Louis Mission in 1987. Fred was always active in
the church. He served as a counselor in the Thurber Ward Bishopric and a
counselor in the Wayne Stake Presidency. He served on the Bicknell Town Board
and was a member of the State Vocational Agriculture Association. He enjoyed
gardening, and having worked on his uncle's farm as a boy, he always enjoyed
the farms, cattle, sheep and fields of Wayne County. Fred is survived by his
wife of Bicknell; children: Cordell and Donna Hellstrom of Henderson, Nevada;
Sonja and Kyle Burdash of Layton, Utah; six grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; brothers: Delmar and Leora Hellstrom of Ogden, Evan and
Jennie Hellstrom of Clearfield. He was preceded in death by three brothers,
Reed Hellstrom, Myron Hellstrom and Hubert Hellstrom. Funeral services will be
held Friday, January 21, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel, in
Bicknell, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 11:00 to
12:30 prior to the services. Graveside services and burial will be Monday,
January 24, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Randolph City Cemetery in Randolph, Utah

Jense, Lucille Ashman Murdock
Lucille Ashman Murdock Jense 1914 ~ 2005 BEAVER- Lucille Ashman Murdock Jense
died peacefully in her sleep Thursday morning, January 13, 2005 in Beaver,
Utah. Lucille Ashman was born in Fillmore, Utah, July 1, 1914, the only
daughter of Charles Nye and Fannie Dearden Ashman. She had six brothers,
Harold, Albert, Everett, Dale, Merlin and Elvin. Lucille was the last
surviving member of this family. She was educated in the schools of Fillmore
and graduated from Millard High School in 1932. She married A. Carlos Murdock
of Beaver in the St. George Temple on May 25, 1932 and the couple made their
home in Beaver. She and Carlos were parents to five sons. In 1955 the family
moved to Cedar City, then returned to Beaver in 1958. Carlos died suddenly in
1966 leaving Lucille a widow at the age of 52. She married Wesley Jense in
1969 and moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah. In 1975, she and Wesley served a
full-time mission in West Virginia. Wesley died in 1990. Shortly after,
Lucille moved to St George and lived there for several years. In 1994 she
returned home to Beaver, where she has since resided. Lucille has given a
lifetime of church and community service. She has served in many church
callings. She had an insatiable desire to be productive and creative. She
became an accomplished and award winning artist. Her paintings and ceramics
grace many homes and several public places. Lucille also wrote poetry. She was
an accomplished cook and loved to host loved ones and friends who visited her
home. She dearly loved her family and her neighbors. Lucille is survived by
four sons, Carlos Dale (Louise) of Beaver; Sumner Reed (Charlotte) of Layton;
Kenneth Joe (Marvalee) of St George and Harold Duane (Hal) (Gloria) of Beaver.
She has 25 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and six
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Carlos
and Wesley, a son George Charles who died shortly after his birth, a
daughter-in-law, Karen Koford Murdock and a grandson Jeffrey Harold Murdock.
We celebrate her reunion with her husband and other loved ones. Funeral
services will be held on Sat., January 22, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at the Beaver
LDS 6th Ward Chapel at 1380 East 200 North. Viewing will be on Saturday at the
Church from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery

Johnson, Mary Sorensen Buist
Mary Sorensen Buist Johnson 1914 ~ 2005 Our wonderful, loving mother, Mary
Buist Johnson, 90, passed away in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City last
Saturday, January 15, 2005. Mom was born on September 13, 1914 in Wellsville,
Utah to Alexander Burnett and Bertha Sorensen Buist. She attended schools in
Cache County and graduated from South Cache High School. She continued her
education at Utah State University for one year. (They were always the
"Aggies" to her.) She married Oscar LeRoy Dunn in the Logan LDS Temple on
December 5, 1934. They were later divorced. On August 4, 1951, she married
Clive Cooper Johnson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple. They had a happy marriage, where for 44 years they enjoyed traveling,
attending baseball games and other sporting events and especially dancing.
They particularly loved to attend anything their grandchildren and
great-grandchildren participated in. She worked for Equitable Life and
Casualty Insurance Company for 52 years, finally retiring at age 75. After her
retirement, she really looked forward to attending the Christmas parties each
year, where she was treated like royalty. Mom was very active in the DAV
Auxiliary for many years. She served faithfully by her husband's side,
enjoying every minute spent with him and the people they learned to know and
love. She was an active member in the LDS Church all her life and served in
many callings, including Counselor in the Young Woman's Mutual program and 30
years as Ward Librarian. She was a very dedicated Visiting Teacher. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Clive C. Johnson; her parents, Alexander and
Bertha Buist; two sisters, Leona Rice and Esther Kerr; and a brother, Charles
A. Buist. She is survived by her son, Robert L. (Peggy) Dunn; daughter,
Marjean Dunn Rufener; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves many step-grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services, under
direction of Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr., will be held at 1:00
p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the McKay Ward, 1623 South 500 East, where
friends may call Wednesday 6:30 - 8 p.m. and Thursday 11:45 -12:45 p.m. Mom,
we will miss you very much and are so thankful that we've been able to enjoy
your sweet spirit and wonderful zest for life for so many years. You have
taught us so much about living. We will especially miss your love and how
happy you always were to see us.

Marriott, Rebecca Smoot
Rebecca Smoot Marriott 1919 ~ 2005 Rebecca Smoot Marriott, age 85, passed away
on January 17, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Becky was born on November 20,
1919 in Salt Lake City to Wendell McMeans Smoot and Rebecca Clawson Smoot, and
was the oldest of three children. She attended East High School and graduated
from the University of Utah in 1940 where she majored in theatre, participated
in many plays, and joined a drama club. She was a member of Chi Omega
Sorority. In the 1950's, she was involved with the Children's Theatre of
Washington D.C. through the Junior League. She wrote an original play called
"Trouble with Tricks," which was produced off Broadway in New York City. Becky
was married: twice widowed at a young age, and twice divorced. She enjoyed
many memorable summers with family and friends at her cabin on the Henry's
Fork of the Snake River in Big Springs, Idaho, near Yellowstone National Park.
She loved to play bridge, read good books, and go on nature walks. In later
years, she volunteered for the Salt Lake Valley Republican Party, served on
the LDS Hospital Quilt Board, and was a member of the Town Club. Becky was a
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed
supporting the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Becky is survived by a daughter,
Rebecca Marriott Champion (John W. Jr.) Park City, Utah; a brother, Wendell M.
Smoot, Jr. (Barbara); and was preceded in death by an infant son, William
Smoot Travis; and a brother, Stanley C. Smoot (Diana). The family would like
to thank the many wonderful doctors, nurses and aides at The Residence of
CareSource who treated her with love and kindness during her last year. In
lieu of flowers, a donation in Becky's name to the Henry's Fork Foundation,

Miller, Emma Webber
Emma Webber Miller Will Be Missed Emma Webber Miller, our beloved mother,
grandmother, great-grand-mother, aunt and friend, passed away at home with her
children by her side on the 16th of January 2005, to meet her husband and
daughter. She is survived by her son, Garry Tim (Giz) Miller; daughters, Ileen
(Tom) Carroll and Carrie Smith; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grand-children and
four great-great-grand-children. She is preceded in death by her parents,
siblings, husband and daughter, Cheryl Griffiths. Emma will be missed by all
whose lives she touched. We Love You and we will miss you Mom! Funeral

View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive

DeVere Flygare Oliver 1915 ~ 2005 LEHI, UT- DeVere Evans Flygare Oliver, age
89 of Lehi, died January 18, 2005 in American Fork, Utah of congestive heart
failure. Born July 12, 1915 in Lehi, Utah to Hyrum and Lillian Evans. Married
Karl Chamberlain Flygare August 19, 1933. Later divorced. Married Charles
Ernest Oliver April 28, 1961. He died November 10, 1985. DeVere was active in
the LDS Church and served in many callings. Survived by her children: Mary
Jean (Grant) Robinson, Alpine; Linda Herrera, Mesa, AZ; Robert (Joann)
Flygare, Orem; Richard (Louise) Flygare, Henderson, NV; Gail (Angela) Oliver,
Kathy Oliver, Sharolyn Herrera, all of Salt Lake City; Richard (Marilyn)

Patterson, Robert Scott
Robert Scott Patterson 1919 ~ 2005 Robert Scott Patterson, age 85, passed away
on January 13, 2005, in Draper, Utah after a hard fought battle with lymphoma
at the home of one of his children. Scott was born July 4, 1919 in Douglas,
Wyoming to William E. Patterson and Ella Louise Scott. He married Marian
Freckelton on November 13, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They later divorced
but remained friends throughout their lives. She was at his side during his
illness. They always were together and would hold hands whenever they left the
house. Scott was a remarkable man. He was a horse and cattle rancher outside
of Laramie, Wyoming for many years. He loved his ranch and horses, sagebrush
and the open spaces. He could tame a horse just sensing his spirit. Ranching
taught him many skills and aided him and his family throughout his life. After
completing two years of college in Greeley, Colorado, he served in the Army
Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in Hawaii. Scott was known for
his great ability to "fix" things. He would travel the neighborhood fixing
things for people on the block where he lived. He loved to travel around the
country by motorcycle with his son. Scott loved his family. He is survived by
his ex-wife, Marian, and two daughters, Sally Anne Brown-Yannone (John), and
Janice Lee Patrick, and one son, Robert Scott. He has 11 grandchildren and two
great-grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jim
and Elmer, and son-in-law. A special thanks goes to Frankie and Freddie from
Rocky Mountain Hospice and Dr. Shami and Allan from the VA hospital for their
dedication. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 22,
2005, at the home of John and Sally Anne Brown-Yannone at 11582 Sweet Berry
Drive in Draper from 5-7 p.m. Please join his family and friends as they
remember his well-lived life. Papa will be missed very much by his family and
friends.

Plowman, Barbara Wiser
Barbara Wiser Plowman 1923 ~ 2005 Barbara Wiser Plowman, 81, died on Saturday,
January 15, 2005 at Sunshine Terrace in Logan, Utah. Barbara was born in Logan
on June 5, 1923, the oldest of five children to Wayne T. and Eva England
Wiser. The first few years of life, Barbara and her mother lived with her
grandparents in Logan while her father served a mission in New Zealand.
Following his return, they moved to the family farm in Lewiston, Utah, a
community Barbara loved and where she spent most of her remaining years.
Barbara graduated from North Cache High School, beginning nurse's training
shortly afterward. She spent several years during World War II working as a
nurse for Dr. Ezra Cragun in Lewiston. She married her high school sweetheart,
Rex Gibson Plowman, on October 6, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. These two best
friends enjoyed traveling and just spending time together for 52 wonderful
years until Rex passed away on December 29, 1994. Active in community affairs,
Barbara served in the Jaycee Jills and the American Legion Auxiliary,
especially working to raise funds to sponsor Girl's State Delegates. She also
enjoyed working with young people as a 4-H leader. Barbara was first and
foremost a wife and mother, dedicating herself to providing a loving and happy
home for her family. A very talented seamstress, she also did beautiful
knitting and other handwork and loved to cook. Despite incapacitating injuries
sustained in an automobile accident in 1969, she continued to support her
family, especially her husband in his many church, civic and business
responsibilities. The Primary organization was her great love, as she served
as teacher and president in both the ward and stake of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. Barbara's faith and testimony in Jesus Christ and
the Gospel were displayed to her precious children and grandchildren by her
example of love and service. Preceding Barbara in death were her husband, Rex
G. Plowman, her parents, and two sisters, Gayle (Jack) Leavitt and Marilyn
(Wes) Poole. She is survived by her three children, Boyd Rex (Carol) Plowman
of Glen Ivy, California, Patricia Harris of Lewiston, and Carol (Grant) Hanson
of Highland, Utah, as well as 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The
family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Visick and the staff at Terrace
Grove and Sunshine Terrace for their loving care and service to our mother for
the last several years. Funeral services will be held at noon on Sat., Jan.
22, 2005 in the Lewiston 4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Allen-Hall
Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan, Utah from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 or
from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers,
the family would welcome contributions to the LDS Church Humanitarian or
Perpetual Education Fund.

Price, Merron E.
Merron E. Price 1917 ~ 2005 Merron E. Price, 87, passed away January 16, 2005
in Las Vegas, NV. Merron was born June 18, 1917, to Joseph and Annie Ingram
Price. He married Phyllis Worthington on June 22, 1938 in the Manti LDS
Temple. Phyllis passed away on November 13, 1984. He married Aleen Field Reid
on July 13, 1985. Merron spent his life in Nephi, working 35 years at the
Nephi Rubber Plant. He was active in the Scouting program for 30 years, eight
years working as a Scoutmaster. He received the Second Miler, and the Silver
Beaver awards for his dedication to young men in the scouting program. As a
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he held several
positions. He served as a member of the bishopric in the First and Fourth
wards. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing many vegetables and flowers
which were enjoyed by his friends and neighbors. Merron and his wife Aleen
spent the winter months in Overton, Nevada, returning to Nephi in the Spring.
Merron is survived by his wife Aleen, one son Stephen of Nephi, two daughters
Mrs. Fred L. (JoAnn) Gowers of Las Vegas, NV; and Mrs. Arthur (Marlene) Olivas
of Ogden, UT. He is also survived by his step children Carolyn Farhet of St
Paul, MN; Paula Turner of Eagle Mountain, UT; Charles Reid of Danbury, Iowa
and David Reid of Salt Lake City, UT. He had six grandchildren, and 17
great-grandchildren. He also had 19 step-grandchildren and 15
step-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 22 January
2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nephi 3rd-5th LDS ward church, 345 E. 500 N., Nephi,
Utah. Friends my call at the Anderson Funeral Home, Friday from 6-8 p.m. and
at the chapel Saturday one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at
the Vine Bluff Cemetery.

Sarris Sr., Pete L.
Pete L. Sarris Sr. 1922 ~ 2005 Pete L. Sarris Sr., 82, passed away January 16,
2005 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born April 1, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah a
son of Louis and Cannella Karafotis Sarris. He was reared in Layton. Pete
served in the US Army 37th Combat Engineer Battalion in World War II. He was
awarded the Purple Heart Award. He married Marie Callis, they later divorced.
Pete married Patricia Connie Chappatt May 3, 1962. Pete was a manager at
Cowboy Oil and retired from Gibbons and Read in 1978. Throughout his life he
was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. Pete is survived by his wife,
Patricia Connie; son, Lou (Ann) Sarris of Salt Lake City; one brother, William
Sarris of Rancho Mirage, CA; two grandchildren, Pete Sarris Jr. and Nichole
Garner. Proceeded in death by his daughter, Karen Enniss; granddaughter
Rebecca Enniss, one brother Dean Sarris and one sister Maxine Killian. Funeral
services will be held 11 a.m. Monday January 24, 2005 at Lindquist's Bountiful
Mortuary, 727 North 400 E. with Reverend Father Jon Emanuelson of the Holy
Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church officiating. Friends may call Sunday,

N. Wayne Smith 1919 ~ 2005 Our beloved husband, father and grandfather N.
Wayne Smith died suddenly Jan. 16, 2005 after many years of ill health,
surrounded by his loving family. Born June 24, 1919 in Logan, Utah to Newel W.
and Natilla Comish Smith where he lived and grew up. Married Ramona Hill Aug.
11, 1978 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. Wayne was an active member of the
L.D.S. Church and had served five full time Missions and held many leadership
positions. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II in Maritime service and
was 1st class petty officer in the Engine Dept. He was a school teacher and
taught mostly in Davis School district and presently served as a volunteer in
the Riverton area elementary schools. Survived by his wife Ramona, children
David Wayne Smith, Donna Mehr, Clair (Dan) Rager, Marie Elliott, Katherine
(Dal) Sellers and Jared (Ashlee) Smith, 16 grandchildren and one
great-grandson. Preceded in death by son Justin Wayne and daughter Patricia
Rollo, brother Dale Smith, three sisters Ruth Allen, Lila Sargent, and Lettie
Brandon. Funeral Service will be held Thurs. at 11:00 a.m. at the Summerhill

Summers, David Lee
David Lee Summers 1941 ~ 2005 David Lee Summers retired from work a little
earlier than expected in his home Jan. 15, 2005. Pop was born on Aug. 12, 1941
to Joseph Newton and Juanita Bybee Summers in Anaconda, MT. Dave is the
youngest of his two brothers and three sisters. Pop served a Spanish-American
LDS mission in Southern Texas and his country as a U.S. Marines. He met his
match, LaRae Shipley, 40 years ago and has been lovingly doting over her ever
since. He lived a life of service in work, in church, and in his family. He is
survived by his pride and joy- his family, which includes his wife LaRae, his
children: Ryatt (Kelli), Ray (Kari), Russ (Amie), Ruth (Arn) Kniffen, Rachel
(Shane) Nerdin, Rance (Emily), Rich (Awbree), and 29 grandchildren ranging in
age from 12 years to 3 on the way. He will be greatly missed every Sunday at
family dinner, at Boy's Camp, and all the days in between. Services will be
held at 11 a.m. Friday Jan. 21st at the Sandy Utah Central Stake Center, 1050
E. Galena Dr. Viewing will be Thursday, Jan. 20th, 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead
Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W. Riverton and one hour prior Friday at the
church. Interment Utah Veterans Memorial Park.

Diana Lynn Higbee Swenson Happy Journey Our Love Beloved wife of Paul R.
Swenson, Diana Lynn Swenson, passed away January 17, 2005 in Salt Lake City,
Utah. She was born August 21, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clifford "Cliff"
Higbee and Doris Higbee. She married Paul R. Swenson February 29, 1980 in Salt
Lake City. She was raised in the Rose Park area of Salt Lake City. She
graduated from West High School. For the past 22 years she has resided in
Phoenix, AZ, Eugene, OR, Moorpark, CA and Plano, TX. She moved back to Salt
Lake City July 22, 2004. She is survived by her husband; children, Jamie and
Brandon; grandchildren, Anthony, Ashley and Britney; brothers, Clifford (Lee)
and Kevin; sisters, Joanne (Doug) Erskine and Renea Parker and parents.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 21, 2005, 3:00 p.m. at Larkin
Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah where friends may call from
1:45 to 2:45p.m. prior to the graveside. In lieu of flowers the family
suggests donations may be made to Primary Children's Medical Center.

Walden, Betty Jean
Betty Jean Walden 11/27/29 ~1/17/05 Betty Jean Walden, age 75, passed away on
January 17, 2005, in Kaysville, Utah. She was born November 27, 1929, in
Seminole, Oklahoma, to Arthur Wood and Liddy Cornelia Tallant. Betty married
George L Walden on July 7, 1951, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Their marriage was
later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on February 26, 1965. During their
early marriage, they traveled all over the country as a result of his work.
George L preceded her in death on October 26, 1999. Betty was a faithful
member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings in the Primary and Relief
Society. She loved the Lord and her family. Betty had a quiet, loving
personality but wasn't afraid to speak her mind when needed. She especially
loved red roses, soap operas and baseball - she could quote players and stats
with "the best of them." Among her greatest joys in life were her grandkids
and great-grandkids. Betty is survived by daughters: Debby Walden and Vicki
(Royd) Waters; son, Kim (Judy) Walden. She is also survived by her sister,
Joyce (Elton) Green of Marshall, Texas, five grandchildren, six
step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by
her parents, brothers Melvin and Joe, and sisters Isabel, Irene and Lorene.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville
13th Ward, 875 East 200 North. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to
8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Friday from 9:30
to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 17111
