Albrecht, Ranae
Ranae Albrecht 1932 ~ 2005 HANKSVILLE, UT - Our kind and beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, daughter, and sister, Ranae Albrecht, age 72, of Hanksville, died
January 28, 2005 in Richfield, Utah of complications from bone cancer. She was
born May 24, 1932 in Loa, Utah a daughter of Leland and Dora Taylor Hunt.
After the death of her mother, she was taken and raised by Heber J. and Eris
Redford Rees in Loa. She graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1950. She
married Owen LaNaie Albrecht, October 24, 1950 in Loa, Utah. Their marriage
was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 16, 1957. Ranae was an active
member of the LDS Church, where she worked in all the church organizations.
She served a Temple Mission to the Manti Temple for seven years. Ranae was a
school lunch cook for Wayne School District for 27 years. She was a Red Cross
volunteer, and helped with Pennies by the Inch. She was always helping elderly
people. She loved to cook and was always cooking something for somebody. She
enjoyed crocheting, raising rose gardens and flower gardens of any kind and
also vegetable gardens. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and
great-grandkids. Ranae is survived by her husband of Hanksville; children,
Janet and Dan Barp of Spanish Fork, Terry Albrecht of Hanksville, Danny
Albrecht of Richfield, Dona and Ronnie Rees of Loa, Kelly and Laura Albrecht
of Wapanucka, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her mother,
Eris Redford Rees Paskett of Richfield; brother and sisters, Merlin and Nadine
Taylor of Loa, Ramola and Ted Jones of Bicknell, Grace Blackburn of St.
George. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie Albrecht; a grandson,
Jared Albrecht; a sister, Bonnie and Alfred Newby; a brother, Don Blackburn;
her father, Heber Rees; her mother, Dora Taylor; and her parents-in-law, Vern
and Nola Ernstsen. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, February 2, 2005
at 12 noon in the Hanksville LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at
the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
and at the ward chapel in Hanksville Wednesday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
prior to the services. Graveside services and burial will be in the Wednesday
afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Loa Cemetery under the direction of the Springer

Anderson, Ulla-Britt Viktoria
Ulla-Britt Viktoria Anderson My dear wife and equal companion in life and for
all eternity Ulla peacefully passed away January 27, 2005 from complications
related to diabetes. She was born December 11, 1925 in Stockholm, Sweden,
daughter of Gerda and Einar Andersson. She graduated from a business college
in Stockholm and worked as a sales clerk. She married Einar E. Anderson on May
9, 1943. They immigrated to Salt Lake City with their three children in
November 1948. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple January 13, 1949. She
was employed by Vogue Cleaning Company and the L.D.S. Family History
Department as a microfilm technician. Ulla was the mother of eight children,
four sons and four daughters. She is survived by her husband, Einar, her
brother, Sven Andersson, Stockholm, Sweden, her sons: Kjell (Sybil), Mesa, AZ;
Leif (Analee), Carson City, NV; Glen (Christine), Sandy; Wayne (Terra); Little
Rock, AR.; three daughters, Dianne Allen (Jon), SLC; Elaine Thompson (Guy)
SLC; and Irene Anderson, SLC. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 20
great grandchildren. Ulla was skillful at handicrafts and homemaking. She
loved record keeping, historical and family scrap-booking. She enjoyed
traveling extensively with her husband. She loved flowers, especially roses
and lilies of the valley. Her traditional Swedish Christmas Eve dinners were
memorable. She served on missions and church assignments with her husband
which included the Nigerian Mission 1987-1989, Stockholm Temple Assistant
Matron 1991-1993, and the Church Translation Department 1994 -1996. Ulla was
proceeded in death by her parents, brother Kurt, daughter Marianne, grandson
Michael and granddaughter Marie Amie. Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Winder 10th Ward building
located at 4366 South 1500 East in Salt Lake City, UT. There will be a viewing
at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Monday, January 31,
2005 between 6-8 p.m. and prior to funeral services on Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to
10:30 a.m.

Bird, Vernon Kay
Vernon Kay Bird 5/22/37 ~ 1/28/05 Vernon Kay Bird, beloved husband, father,
brother, teacher and friend passed away peacefully in his home in Salt Lake
City, Friday, January 28, 2005 following a year-long battle with esophageal
cancer. Vernon was born May 22, 1937 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Elbert and
Vernonna Bird. He was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho, attended Ricks College and
Brigham Young University, where he met his beloved wife Jean McCandless. They
were married July 21, 1962 in the Manti Temple. Vernon received his Master of
Education from the University of Utah, and touched countless lives through his
33 years as a music educator in East Carbon and Salt Lake City. Vernon served
for 37 years in the Utah National Guard, 33 of which were with the 23rd Army
Band. He was a faithful, lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. He served a full-time mission in Denmark. Callings included
various music callings, stake seventies presidency, ward financial clerk,
bishop's councilor, high priest group leader, stake high council and bishop.
Vernon was happiest when spending time with his family, playing his trumpet,
and camping and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by wife Jean,
son Dwight (Lorri), son Bryce (Tanya), daughter Laurie and grandchildren
Megan, Andrew, Carson, Jacob, Hannah and Spencer. He is also survived by
brothers Richard (Marrian), Mike (Verla), Steve (Joy), and sister Marva Allman
(Gordon). He was preceded in death by both parents and two nephews, Jason and
Jerimiah. The family would like to thank friends, 23rd Army Band buddies,
family, ward members, caring doctors and nurses, including Dr. Graydon Harker
and staff at Utah Cancer Specialists and members of Rocky Mountain Hospice for
their care, visits, prayers and love. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
February 1, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Mountain View 1st Ward, 1400 South 1900
East, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday,
January 31, 2005 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake

Hughes, Lucille Vivian Johnson
Lucille Vivian Johnson Hughes 1915 ~ 2005 Our loving mother and grandmother
passed away on January 28, 2005 of causes incident to age. Lucille was born on
May 30, 1915 to Nephi S. and Mary Louise Johnson in Lewiston, Utah. She
attended the University of Utah where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa
Gamma Sorority. She was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints. She married Joseph Walden Hughes on September 1, 1936 in
the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The young couple then moved to Arlington, Virginia
while Joe finished his graduate work at George Washington University. Joe
began his career at the State Department and they settled down in Northern
Virginia to raise their family of five children. In 1956 Joe's job took the
family to Beirut, Lebanon. Lucille completed her degree in Education in 1958
at the Beirut College for Women. The family was then transferred to Manila,
Philippines for another year and a half. After returning to Virginia, Lucille
taught school in Fairfax County for over 10 years while she helped put her
children through college at BYU. She and Joe retired in 1971 and returned to
Utah, first to Logan and then to Salt Lake City. Lucille was a member of the
Daughters of Utah Pioneers for many years, both in Virginia and in Utah. She
and Joe enjoyed many happy years of retirement in Utah, spoiling their
grandchildren, traveling with friends in a motor home group and snowbirding in
Arizona many winters. Joe died in 1999 and Lucille stayed in their Brookstone
condominium until 2003 when she went to live with Craig (son) and Christine
Hughes. Lucille is survived by her sons, Kent (Lynda), Keith (Sally), Craig
(Christine), Rick (Gwen) and daughter Mary Ann (Lee) Onstott; sister, Mary Lou
Hendricks, brother, Milton Johnson; 18 grandchildren and 36
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1,
2005 at noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City,
Utah 84106. Friends and family may come by the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday evening, January 31st and also from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday
morning. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.

Johnson, Clela Martha Williams
Clela Martha Williams Johnson 1921 ~ 2005 Clela Martha Williams Johnson, died
peacefully January 29, 2005 with her family surrounding her. She was born
August 19, 1921 to J. Samuel and Martha Anderson Williams. Clela married
Leland Grant Johnson, January 21, 1942. She graduated from LDS Business
College and worked most of her life as a secretary, working for Sperry Rand,
Univac, Salt Lake Credit Bureau and Salt Lake City where she retired in 1988.
She succumbed to the effects of undiagnosed cancer, having been noticeably ill
for only a short time. Clela was active, independent, and determined not to be
a burden to anyone to the very end. Clela enjoyed her family, working in her
home and flower garden and making her own decisions. She enjoyed and worried
about her neighbors and always had a task to do, she has earned her time to be
free of this life's tasks. Her family loved and cared for her very much and we
will greatly miss our mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Clela is
survived by her daughters, Lela Ann Street, Marilynne (Wayne) Donaldson, Terri
(Jeff) Kay; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchil-dren; and two great
great-grandchil-dren, and sister, Lucille W. Clifton. She was preceded in
death by her husband for more then 28 years; grandson, Jeremy Donaldson;
son-in-law, Jack Street; brother-in-law, Lloyd Clifton; half-brothers, Samuel
(Hazel), James (Cloteel), George Williams, Clarence (Edith) Williams; and
half-sister, Edith (Byron) Nielson. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday,
February 1, 2005 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna. Friends may
call 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park,
4335 W. 4100 S.

Jordan, Ella Rose Newman
Ella Rose Newman Jordan 1919 ~ 2005 Ella Rose Newman Jordan, 85, of Orem,
passed away Friday, January 28, 2005, at the American Fork Hospital. She was
born April 22, 1919, in Fayette, Utah a daughter of Henry LeRoy and Roseybell
Lisonbee Pierce. She was the second oldest of nine children. She lived her
early years in Spanish Fork, Utah. She married Earnest Leander Christensen and
they had four children. She later married Richard Cullimore Newman. They moved
to Orem, Utah where they spent many happy years. Together they had two
children. They were sealed in the Manti Temple, July 2, 1963. He passed away
December 8, 1970. She married Charles Kennith Jordan in 1982. He passed away
in 1995. She has six children, Dennis Leander Christiansen, Patrica Rose
Thomas, Marcella Jean Shepherd, Joyce Laurel Tomaino, Ronald Lee Newman, and
Keith Richard Newman; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and
great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three
husbands, two sons, five brothers, two granddaughters, and one
great-granddaughter. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Februay 1, at 12
noon in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, 600 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove.
Friends and family may gather at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East
800 North, Orem, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to going to the cemetery.

Lamprecht, Don G.
Don G. Lamprecht 7/29/30 ~ 1/29/05 Don G. Lamprecht, our beloved husband,
father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully January 29,
2005 after a short strug-gle with a rare form of lymphoma. He was born July
29, 1930 in Glenwood, Utah to George and Pearl Lamprecht. He married Jetta V.
Dunn, February 16, 1951 in the Manti LDS Temple. He served his country in the
Korean War from 1951-1953. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, having
served in many callings. Don was a Master Painter and craftsman more than 50
years. He worked in many LDS Temples, office buildings and homes throughout
the Salt Lake Valley. For 37 years he was a member of Local 77 Painters and
Allied Trades, serving as a treasurer for many of those years. Dad enjoyed
spending time with his family, playing golf, and reading church history.
Together with Mom, they enjoyed traveling with their family and friends,
seeing many sites across the nation in their travel trailer. He is survived by
his sweetheart of 54 years; and his loving sons and daughter, Dirk (Robyn) of
Lakewood, CO, Brad (Monica) of Taylorsville, UT, and Sherie of Salt Lake City,
UT. He also leaves behind seven loving grandchildren, Nelson, Eliza, Brady,
Colin, Tess, Laura, and Susan; a sister, Loretta (Richard) Jensen, Richfield,
UT; and a brother, Laone Lamprecht of Glenwood, UT. He was preceded in death
by his parents; his sister, Zenda; and brother, Orin. Family will receive
friends at a viewing Tuesday, February 1st from 6-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn
Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. Funeral services will
be held Wed-nesday, February 2nd, 11:00 a.m. at the Olympus 2nd Ward Chapel,
3070 Nila Way (4085 So. 3100 E.) with a viewing prior to the services from
9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Nelson, Howard Raymond
Howard R. Nelson 1915 ~ 2005 Howard Raymond Nelson, 89, of Orem, Utah passed
away January 29, 2005. He was born August 4, 1915 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to
Raymond and Anna Hansen Nelson. He married Glennes LeeMaster August 30, 1939.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Keith; and his son,
Wayne. Howard is survived by his wife, Glennes; and their five children,
Leland (Kathy) Nelson of Orem, Karen (Kelley) Fowler of Denver, Karl Nelson of
Heber, Steven (Launa) Nelson of Springville, and Sheri Nelson of Springville.
Howard is also survived by his sister, Dorothy (Hyrum) Bradley of Fruit
Heights. Howard left a wonderful heritage behind, 21 grandchildren, 32
great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be held Wed-nesday, February 2nd, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Cascade chapel at the
Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary. Friends and family may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
before the service. Interment will follow at the Heber City Cemetery.

Olson, Myrtle R.
Myrtle R. Olson 1909 ~ 2005 Myrtle Robison Olson was born in Pleasant Grove,
Utah, April 2, 1909 to Guy Kellog and Susan Nilsson Robison. At age six, she
moved with her parents to Salt Lake City where she lived until her marriage.
She married Albert M. Olson June 28, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a
devoted wife for over 69 years and was a loving and caring mother and
grandmother to the end of her life. Myrtle was a member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in all of the auxiliaries. She served as a
Ward Relief Society President and Stake Relief Society President and on the
General Board of the Relief Society for eleven years. She served a mission in
the Jefferson Ward in Salt Lake City with her husband and was a counselor in
the Relief Society in that ward. She also served as an extractor in the Family
History Center for many years. In the community, Myrtle served as President of
the Volunteer Auxiliary at the Latter-day Saints Hospital and was a member of
the Board for many years. She was also a Red Cross volunteer and a member of
the Salt Lake Legislative Council. In Myrtle's activities in her church and
community she was always known for being hard working, caring and dedicated.
She formed lasting associations and friendships through her service which
meant a great deal to her. Myrtle is survived by a daughter, Valerie Cooper of
Pleasant Hill, California; two sons, Robert Olson of Tucson, Arizona, and
Thomas Olson of Seattle, Washington; nine grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 11
a.m. in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 2350 East 1300 South. Friends
may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Salt Lake
City Cemetery.

Poff, Vicki B. Llewellyn
Vicki B. Llewellyn Poff "My mother, my friend" Vicki Poff was born September
15, 1943, she died January 28, 2005, after battling cardiomyopathy for several
years. She was born in Bishop, California to Fred H. and Irene Bethers
Llewellyn. Vicki married her soul mate George G. Poff on May 3, 1967; they had
30 wonderful years together. They had three children: Scott (Valerie), Karen
(Bud) Peterson and Neil (Janel). Vicki loved spending time with her
grandchildren; Dacia, Riley, Victoria "Tori," Kolby, Lindsay, Azlund, George
"Buddy," and Hannah. The grandkids will always remember the great times they
had with Grandma. Vicki retired from the Salt Lake County Sheriff's office as
a correctional sergeant. She was an avid genealogist and loved her work at the
LDS Family History library. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and
enjoyed her gatherings with her Red Hat friends. "I shall wear a purple dress
with a Red Hat." She is survived by her children, grandchildren, mother, and
eight brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by George her husband
and Fred her father. She now joins them for eternity. Funeral services will be
held on Wednesday February 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westbrook Ward 6500
South Dixie Drive in West Jordan. Family and friends are invited to call on
Tuesday February 1, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900
East, and again one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Springville
Evergreen Cemetery.

Woolfenden Ph.D., Warner Reynolds
Warner Reynolds Woolfenden, PhD. 1938 ~ 2005 Warner Reynolds Woolfenden, PhD,
died January 30, 2005 of causes related to his five decade battle with
juvenile diabetes. He was born September 13, 1938 in Magna, Utah to Reynolds
and (Louisa) Veola Woolfenden. He married his lifelong love, Roselyn Poulsen
August 21, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from Cyprus High School
in 1956, and received a BS Degree from the University of Utah in 1961, and
later received a PhD in Chemistry in August of 1965. He was a professor of
Chemistry in California, New York, and Utah from 1965 until 1988. His students
will never forget his enthusiasm and love for teaching. Later he did research
and worked as a lab director for medical equipment manufacturers. Warner loved
vacations with his family, fishing and camping. He did most of the
construction work on the family home in New York. He enjoyed photography and
developing both slides and prints. He was an active member of the LDS Church
and served in several capacities; mainly clerical and scouting. He also taught
seminary and worked in the Jordan River Temple. Preceded in death by his
parents. Survived by his wife, Roselyn; and four children, Linda (John) Bowe
of Sandy, DeAnn (Mark) Warring of Austin, TX, Shari (Lyle) Terry of Sandy, and
Ronald (Alison) Woolfenden of West Jordan. Also survived by three sisters,
Beverly (Frank) Hills of Concord, MA, Carma (Wilford) Boren of Centerville,
and Jeane (George) Chipman of Farmington; as well as grandchildren, David,
Joshua, Matthew, and Heather Bowe, Stephanie, Emily and Rebekah Thomson,
Mitchell and Logan Terry, Kyle and Ashley Woolfenden. The family would like to
express their gratitude to the staff of Central Valley Dialysis and Wentworth
Assisted Living Center in Draper for their loving care of our husband,
brother, father, and grandfather. Warner was a happy, loving, generous person
who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Friends and family may call at

Yeck, Groff Clinton
Groff Clinton Yeck 1926 ~ 2005 Groff Clinton Yeck of Highland, Utah passed
away peacefully January 29, 2005. Born August 29, l926 in Peoria, IL; he moved
with his family to the Salt Lake Valley as a young child. At the age of l7, he
entered the Armed Services and served more than 40 years on active duty and
the reserves. Friends remember him as "SARGE". While in the service, he met
and married Mildred Eaker. They raised their family in the Washington D.C.
area before retiring to NC. where he served as Bishop of the Shel-by Ward.
Together they ser-ved as Temple Misionaries in the Orlando Florida Temple.
Surviving is his wife and children Priscilla Yeck-Nygaard, William, Carl; and
l0 grandchildren. Viewing to be at the Broomhead Funeral Home l2600 So. 2200
W. Riverton, UT. Monday, January 3l, 2005 from 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral Services to
be held in Shelby, NC.
