Henrichsen "1916 ~ 2005" Roy Giles Henrichsen, 89, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005. He was born March 29, 1916 in Provo, Utah, to Edwin Roy and Beulah Marie Giles Henrichsen, the fourth child in a family of twelve children. Roy completed his high school years at Provo High, and attended two years at Brigham Young Academy. Education was very important to Roy, and he made it possible for all three of his daughters to graduate from the University of Utah. He also helped many others get their education. He married LaDeane Harker September 3, 1938 in Provo, Utah. They enjoyed 66 years of adventures together, including, golfing (he got a hole-in-one), hunting (he always bagged a deer), fishing (everyone always got their limit, but had to learn to clean them) and boating (in a boat made by his own hands). Roy was employed for 30 years as a decorator for Sears, Roebuck & Co. He retired from there in 1978. At this time Roy and LaDeane began spending half the year in Salt Lake and half the year in St. George at the Twin Lakes Golf Course. They enjoyed their many friends and golf buddies there until poor health required them to stay in Salt Lake year round. But of all the places in the world (just don't ask about Alaska!), Roy loved Fish Lake the most. We enjoyed many years of summer vacations there in the family cabin. It was in the cold waters of Fish Lake that he taught his girls to water ski and not fall in! Roy was a member of the LDS Church and a loving Christian who would gladly give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it more than he did. If there was any way he could help you out, he would do it readily. He was a wonderful father and a greater than great husband. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Patrea (Craig) Liljenquist, Lynda Batley, Marsha (Robert) Breinholt; 17 grandchildren; 29 great - grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (June), and Rulon (Joyce); four sisters, Amy Klauck, Helen Adams, Evelyn Wolsey, Elizabeth Noren. Hymas, Rulon Rulon Hymas "Mr. Oil" Born September 23, 1907 in Paris, Idaho to Arthur James Hymas and Cordelia (Della) Davis Hymas. He is proof that the good don't always die young. He passed away peacefully while getting ready for breakfast, June 29, 2005, at the Golden Living Retirement Center. He had just returned to the Assistance Living Center from Cottonwood Hospital the day before after another bout with pneumonia. He will be truly missed by all the many people that knew him. He married Delores M. Parker June 20, 1935. He and his love of a lifetime enjoyed much during their younger years, (their 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.), traveling and camping in their fifth-wheel. They enjoyed being with family and friends, going to the canyons and playing their banjo's while all were singing around the campfire at night. He and Delores also enjoyed bowling in several leagues. Rulon graduated from East High School, studied to be a certified public account but did not want to leave his current employer, Premium Oil Company, to work in a accounting office for two years in order to become a CPA. He said that he didn't think taking the CPA test would have made any difference in his profession, but he did regret never taking the final test. His ability in accounting did pay off however because he was promoted to supervisor over Premium Oil's 32 retail service stations, before moving on to more responsibilities. In his younger days he worked on his fathers farm, had a paper route, worked as a service station attendant, a service station manager, worked on a natural gas pipeline between Wyoming and Salt Lake City, worked in a logging camp in Vancouver, Washington, worked in a feed store with his brother Merrill in Salt Lake City, and at the same time worked full time at Shell Oil Company across the street from the feed store, worked for Utah Oil Refining Company, then in 1935 began working for Premium Oil, and this was the beginning of his life long career with that company. He worked for them for 67 years. He was phenomenal at facts and figures. During his life he was Vice President of Premium Oil Company, President of Premoco Oil Company, President of PR Transport Company, and Secretary-Treasurer of Leeoco Oil Company. In Oct., 2002, at the age of 95 he retired because of health reasons, however, still maintained his position on the board of directors. He resigned from the board of directors in 2004. He said that he couldn't ask for a better company to work for, and that it had been an enjoyable 67 years. Lyle 1911 ~ 2005 Yvonne passed away peacefully June 26th to rejoin the love of her life Burton, who preceded her in death on May 18th. They were a wonderful example of love and devotion. They had an ideal marriage and on July 12th were about to embark on their 67th year. She is survived by her son, Allan, her daughter-in-law Patricia, her grandchildren Malia and Jack and her many excellent friends. Yvonne led a very interesting and productive life. She was an only child born in a farmhouse outside the small town of Elgin in Southern Manitoba. For the fourth grade she was sent to board in Elgin, for school. Yvonne was very intelligent and was advanced several years of schooling. At the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, she completed her four year degree and one year of "Normal" or teachers training and got her first teaching job at the age of 21, teaching grades fifth to eighth in the small three room school in Lyleton, Manitoba. Unfortunately by that time she had lost both her parents, however the good news was that she met her devoted future husband, Burton in Lyleton. This being the depression, the school district couldn't pay teachers with anything beyond a token amount with room and board, however she helped keep the school open and the following year she moved to a paid position teaching grade school in Winnipeg. After a lengthy courtship, mainly through letters, Yvonne and Burton were married on July 12, 1939. This marked the true beginning of her life. They settled in the small mining town of Flin Flon and eventually moved to Salt Lake in 1950. Yvonne was a very accomplished artist, painting with water colors, oils and sketching with charcoal. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to knit, crochet, and she was never without a project. She loved to play the piano and in her youth particularly enjoyed playing duets with her life long friend, Evelyn Ross. Another of her strengths was entertaining and she and Burton hosted many dinner and bridge parties with many friends and neighbors. Yvonne's outstanding qualities and character traits would be best summed up stating that she truly lived by the Golden Rule. She was a very devoted wife and mother, she was patient, humble, independent, and empathetic and she had a strong will. She read voraciously, was active in her church, Wasatch Presbyterian. She was always up on the activities of the community and aware of what was happening nationally and around the globe. Yvonne loved to teach and she continued to do so her whole life. She is going to be missed deeply by her family and friends, however, her memory will serve as a measure of decency and dedication for all who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her many friends who cared for her and who loved her, from the membership and Clergy of Wasatch Presbyterian Church, to the staff and Residents of Highland Cove and Highland Care Center. In lieu of flowers she requested that a donation be made to the non denominational Shriner's Hospital for Children, Intermountain Unit, Fairfax and Virginia Ave, SLC 84103. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, at 11:30 a.m. at Wasatch Presbyterian 1526 South 17th East, Salt Lake City, 84108. Published in the Deseret News on 7/3/2005. Miner, Angela Sue Angela Miner 5/3/1979 ~ 7/1/2005 HIGHLAND, UT - Our sweet, angelic daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and friend, Angela Sue Miner, 26, passed away peacefully July 1, 2005. Angie was born May 3, 1979 to Larry and Betty Jean Miner. She was a fun-loving, adventuresome child. Angie was always looking out for those around her who needed a friend or a smile. She was loved by all who knew her and had the ability to draw people to her. Angie's "mission" began in October of 1990 when she was diagnosed, at the age of 11, with a malignant brain tumor. She faced the surgery, chemo, radiation, and any number of other trials with great faith and courage. Her physical stature was but a small sampling of the great spiritual giant that she was. She had many physical limitations, which included being legally blind, but her spirit was bigger than life and she tackled each obstacle that came her way with a smile and a happy heart. Angie never complained or questioned the Lord's plan for her. She faced her many challenges head on with unflinching courage! One of her greatest accomplishments was her graduation from Lehi High School, with honors, in 1997. Angie was always concerned about others and did many great things to show her love and support to those facing trials of their own. Her little hands made almost 100 crocheted hats which she donated to the Church's Humanitarian Center in the hope that her efforts might bring warmth and comfort to someone less fortunate than herself. She also miraculously oil painted many gorgeous landscapes with her beloved friend, Lavone Moulton, who told her at her first art lesson not to be discouraged that she couldn't paint a straight tree because there are no straight trees in nature. Well, Little Ang, there may not be any straight trees in nature, but you are a straight arrow. Your mission now on earth is done. You've been a valiant daughter of our Heavenly Father's and we know that He loves you and will care for you until we see you again. Thanks for all the lessons you so valiantly taught us. You have been an angel here on earth and we hope to live worthy to live with you through eternity! We love you, Angie, and will miss you greatly. We're so happy for you to be freed from the body that has held you captive for so long - enjoy your freedom, little Ang! We love you and can't wait to see you again! Angie is survived by her parents, Larry and Betty Jean Miner (Highland); two sisters and three brothers, Kristie (Shawn Hadfield), Reed (Hila-ry), Scott (Colette), Mike and Whitney; and nine nieces and nephews, Trevor, Shaundelyn, Morgan, Caleb, Kaden, Hadley, Kash, Oakley, Tate; and grandparents, Lois Madsen (American Fork), Darwin and Bonnie Miner (Highland).
