Baldwin, Jennifer Anjanette Santmyer
Jennifer Anjanette Santmyer Baldwin Wounds Heal All Time Jennifer and husband
Kyle Baldwin passed on July 2nd, 2005 and two angels returned to heaven. A
memorial service for Jen will be held at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S.
Redwood Rd. from 4-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 10. Jen had a passion for Nora
Roberts novels, wrestling, movies, making people smile and most of all
dancing. Jen and Kyle will always be loved. Through tears, struggles and
prayers they will live on for time takes all but memories. And when the earth
shall claim your limbs then shall you truly dance.

Bateman, J. LaVar
J. LaVar Bateman 1920 ~ 2005 LaVar Bateman died peacefully at home in Provo,
Utah, on July 6, 2005. LaVar lived every day as if it were his first and last.
He was honest and even-handed, experienced great joy from life's simple tasks
and pleasures, and walked through this life steadfast and humble, determined
to leave it a better place. LaVar was born on June 6, 1920, the oldest of four
boys, to Rela McMullin Bateman and James Robert Bateman. Before LaVar turned
eight, his father died of typhoid fever. He became the man of the house until
age 13 when his mother married A. Ray Beckstead, a widower with eight
children. In this blended family of the depression, he learned to work hard,
accept responsibility and live frugally. After graduating from Brigham Young
University, LaVar served his country in the Navy during World War II, where he
was skipper of a seaplane base in the Bahamas and communications officer at
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. During the war he married his college sweetheart, Helen
Mae Ream. He then earned his PhD in Speech Communication at the University of
Wisconsin before joining the faculty at BYU. He took a two-year leave to
develop a speech program in Guam and then moved his young family back to Provo
and BYU. LaVar and Helen built their own home on Ash Avenue; they quarried,
dressed and laid 65 tons of rock in the backbreaking process. LaVar taught
public speaking and coached winning debate teams at BYU. Among his
professional accomplishments, he served on the first Honors Program Council,
was chairman of the University Forum Assemblies, and became Chairman of the
Department. During his tenure at BYU, LaVar served as visiting professor at
Michigan State University, the College of the Virgin Islands, and George
Washington University in Maryland, and was an assistant to Senator Wallace
Bennett in Washington DC. He directed many BYU Travel Study tours to Europe,
plus a world tour and a Caribbean cruise. He was also the Director of Study
Abroad in London. He has been an active member of Rotary International since
1954. LaVar and Helen mentored Rotary Exchange Students from several
countries, and sponsored a number of Cambodian refugee families. LaVar was a
bishop and high councilman, and served three full time missions with Helen
(Sydney, Australia; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Honolulu, Hawaii) for The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They have also been part-time hosting
missionaries at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City for the
past 10 years. LaVar's self-proclaimed greatest accomplishment was rearing and
mentoring his five children: Kim Bateman MD (Linda), Shauna
Horne-deceased--(Rick), Kathleen Peterson (Steve), Lucinda Bateman MD, and
Kyle Bateman (Julee). His children hope to honor him with their lives and
accomplishments. LaVar also said, "By far, the most important person of
influence in my life is my wonderful wife and companion, Helen Mae Ream I
think we make a great team and we need each other." LaVar is survived by his
brothers Robert and Mack, and was preceded in death by his parents, brother
Bertin, and daughter Shauna. A memorial service honoring LaVar will be held at
3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the Oak Hills Seventh Ward Chapel in
Provo, 1038 N. 1200 E. (Birch and Apple). The family will receive friends at
the Chapel beginning at 1:30 p.m. There will be a graveside service for family
and close friends earlier that day, 10:00 a.m., South Jordan Memorial Cemetery
(1055 W. 10630 S., South Jordan) In lieu of flowers, please consider donating
to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund or a service organization of your choice.

Bristow, Wanda Juanita
Wanda Juanita Bristow 1929 ~ 2005 Wanda Juanita Bristow, age 75, of Coalville,
passed away July 2, 2005. She was born August 16, 1929 in Upton, Utah to
Grayson and Amy Potter. She was a member of Eastern Star and American Legion
Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and
will be dearly missed. Survived by her sons, Phil (Sally) Bristow, Thayne
(Pam) Bristow, Tim (Karen) Bristow, and daughter, Star (Gale) Sargent, her
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Ross
O. Bristow. There will be no services held per her request. In memory of
Wanda, please make donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Fairfax
Road at Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103-4399.

Cannon, Clara Hatch
Clara Hatch Cannon "We Love You" Clara Hatch Cannon, 88, found peace on July
4, 2005. She was born April 3, 1917 in Panguitch, Utah to Melt and Irene
Syrett Hatch. She married Howell Lee Cannon on July 23, 1936 in the Logan LDS
Temple. A faithful member of the LDS Church, she served in many callings. Her
favorite being ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple. Her greatest joy was
her family. She adored her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She was a
talented seamstress. She loved to read, travel with her husband, sing, dance,
play the piano, write poetry, knit, crochet, quilt and embroider. She liked to
watch baseball games, thunderstorms, and American flags flying in the wind.
She worked with the Girl Scouts and was a PTA president. She retired from
Granite School District in 1979. She is survived by her daughter Crystal (Ken)
Ellis; three granddaughters, Laurie (Jeff) McElreath, Shonnie (Bart) Wright,
Ashlee Ellis; four great grandchildren, Braden and Taylor McElreath, Lauren
and Morgan Wright; two brothers, Verl and Melt (Nila) Hatch. Preceded in death
by her husband, son, parents, two sisters, Nina and Ola. The family would like
to thank Juanita Kiplinger, Crosslands and Life Span for their kindness and
loving care. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 11:30
a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City,
Utah. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Larkin
Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, prior to the graveside.

Eskelsen, Ruth Thatcher
Ruth Thatcher Eskelsen 1927 ~ 2005 BRIGHAM CITY - Ruth Jean Thatcher Eskelsen
passed peacefully into the arms of her beloved Savior July 6, 2005 at 11:06
a.m. in Brigham City, Utah, where she lived the past 45 years. She was 78.
Born April 1, 1927 in Santa Ana, Calif., the daughter of Erthel Blanche Conger
Thatcher and Jesse Oren Thatcher. The family lived in Anaheim, where she
survived a flood and an earthquake-stories of which she would later recount to
the delight of her children and grandchildren. She graduated from Anaheim
Union High School in 1945 and attended Fullerton Junior College. From 1948 to
1953 she worked for United Airlines as a stewardess. She enjoyed traveling and
would fondly recall the sights and sounds of Chicago, New York City, London
and Paris. It was on one of these flights she met her lifelong companion,
Quinn Morrison Eskelsen, as he returned home from military service in Korea.
They were married July 11, 1953 in Salt Lake City. Their first home was in
Durango, Co. In 1961 the family moved to Brigham City, Utah, where they reared
three sons and a daughter. A devout Christian, she traveled four times to the
Holy Land, the first time to be baptized in the Jordan River. She was a
diligent student of the Bible and had an abiding interest in Biblical
archaeology. She is survived by her husband; three sons: Ruel J. (Lily)
Eskelsen, Washington, D.C.; David W. (Carla) Eskelsen, Farmington, Utah;
Douglas R. (Jodi) Eskelsen, Layton, Utah; and a daughter, Amy R. (Don
Standing) Eskelsen, Smithfield, Utah; her brothers, George Thatcher
(Jeannette), Murrieta, CA; Gerald Thatcher (Anne), Orange, CA. Funeral
services are scheduled for Monday, July 11, 2005 at 12 noon at the Gillies
Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 So., Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call at the
chapel from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City

Everett, Diane Lee Thornton
Diane Lee Thornton Everett 1944 ~ 2005 Our sweet wife, mother, grammie and
friend was granted her independence from this mortal existence and returned to
her heavenly home July 4, 2005 in Heber City, Utah. She passed away
unexpectedly while enjoying a camping trip with her husband, all her children,
grandchildren and animals. Diane was born February 13, 1944 in Salt Lake City
to George M. and Pearl Draper Thornton. On May 15, 1963 she married Wayne R.
Everett. Diane attended Highland High, Brigham Young University and Stevens
Henager College. She worked for Jordan School District for over 25 years and
loved and was loved by many there. Diane loved to learn and was blessed with
many gifts and talents. Her crafts, projects, cakes, Christmas stories, love,
hugs and friendship touched the lives of all she knew. The loves of her life
include her caring husband Wayne, children Wendy Wheeler (John) and Randy
Everett (Julie), grandchildren Alexis, Samuel and Victoria Wheeler and Skylar,
Brandon and Tess Everett, her siblings Joyce Brown, Stephen Thornton and Linda
Freer, other family members, countless friends and her beloved animals who
survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents. Diane's life will be
celebrated at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Dr. on Saturday, July
9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends may call Friday, July 8, 2005 from
6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment-
Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Hansen, Steven Matthew
Steven Matthew Hansen 1948 ~ 2005 Steven Matthew Hansen passed away July 5,
2005 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City from cancer. Born December 7,
1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was a graduate of Olympus High School and
Salt Lake Community College. He was a member of the LDS Church, Canyon Creek
Ward in Tooele. Steven was currently on active duty as a Sergeant with the
3/360 Training Support Battalion of the Army. He was a combat veteran of
Vietnam and Desert Storm and was recently engaged in helping prepare our
troops for deployment to the Middle East. Steven was a Journeyman Electrician
in private life having worked on many commercial buildings we see around Salt
Lake City. Surviving Steven are his parents, Willard L. Hansen and Eileen M.
Campos Hansen, both of Salt Lake City; brother, Kent Hansen (DeeAnn) of CA;
and sister, Melanie Schneider (Tony) of Australia. A viewing will be held
Friday, July 8th at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, from 6-8 p.m. A
private graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9th. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jensen, Zola Scott
Zola Scott Jensen "She Loved Unconditionally" Our loving Mother, Zola Jensen,
passed away peacefully July 4, 2005, at the age of 71, in Salt Lake City, Ut
Born June 10, 1934 in Prescott, Arizona, daughter of Andrew Hunter and Veda
Alvina Rowley Scott; both preceded her in death. She moved to Salt Lake City,
Utah in 1949; married Jay Samuel Jensen June 19, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple;
he preceded her in death April 7, 1990. She lived in Southern California for
35 years and returned to Salt Lake City in1990. Zola was a devoted wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She gave her love to
all of us unconditionally and spent most of her life caring for others. Her
devotion and unwavering faith in the LDS Church brought her great comfort. She
volunteered for several years at the Jordan River Temple and held various
church callings throughout her life. She worked at the Brighton High School
cafeteria the last five years of her life; she truly enjoyed working with her
fellow employees and the interaction with the students and faculty. Our mother
loved to read. If she was not engrossed in a historical novel, she was
finishing up one of her plastic canvas projects or crocheting an afghan or
scarf for one of her children or grandchildren. Zola is survived by her
children: Jay, Theo, David, Janiel, Gordon, Michael, Curtiss, Deanna and
Jason; as well as 14 grandchildren, three great-grand-children, sisters Belva
Carlson and Ethel Soter and brother Donal Scott and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Theo. Our family would like to
thank the staff of St. Marks for providing our mother with great care during
her hospital stay. We would also like to thank the staff at CareSource
Inpatient Hospice; they provided our mother with great care and dignity during
her final days.. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2005, 2 p.m.
at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held
Sunday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 1-1:45 p.m. prior to service.
Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the American Diabetes Association.

Kearney, Maurine Browner
Maurine Browner Kearney 1928 ~ 2005 Maurine Browner Kearney passed away
quietly on July 2, 2005. Born on Nov. 26, 1928, to Harley and Vella Browner.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Russell Noel Kearney, and
her oldest son, Hal Gary Kearney. Survived by sons David Bruce Kearney,
Russell Dale Kearney, Ricky Allen Kearney, Larry Jay Kearney and her daughter
Judy Rae Kearney Ferrin. A private family memorial will be held on Saturday,
July 9, 2005.

Lange, Fred
Fred Lange 1930 ~ 2005 Fred Lange, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great
grandfather, teacher, coach, neighbor, dear friend, missionary, and temple
worker passed away peacefully in his home on July 4, 2005. He was born in
Glendale, California, November 16, 1930. He was the youngest of four children,
son of Milton Henry Lange and Mildred Irene Evers. He attended BYU and
graduated from California State College at Los Angeles. Upon graduation he
began a long career teaching and coaching high school students in La
Crescenta, California, and Clearfield, Utah. Many of his former students and
athletes share fond memories of life lessons learned from Coach Lange. Fred
Married Mildred Virginia Davis on April 26, 1949. Their marriage was
solemnized two years later in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints. Together they raised six children - three boys
and three girls. They currently have thirty one grandchildren and 17 great
grandchildren, with two more he is soon to send down - plus many others who
have chosen to call him Dad. Sports were a big part of Fred's life. He coached
football, baseball, basketball, track, girl's and boy's swimming, tennis, and
water polo. For many years he officiated high school and college basketball.
He played football at Cal State, LA, was a national champion water skier, a
snow skier, tennis player, golfer, and sailor. Fred loved the Gospel of Jesus
Christ and served faithfully in many callings. He and his beloved Millie
served three missions: Teaching at Moroni High School, Tarawa, Kiribati
Islands, in the Fiji, Suva Mission; Shandong Province, China, teaching English
at Shandong University; and at the Orem Institute of Religion, UVSC Campus.
Recently he served as an ordinance worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. Fred
was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings. He is survived by
Millie, his wife of 56 years and his children: Rob and Debby Lange (Heber
City), Cathie Foster (Salt Lake City), Jody and Larry Johnson (Sandy), Melinda
and Richard King (Provo), Bryan and Jori Lange (Phoenix), Brent and Laura
Lange (Salt Lake City), and the children and grandchildren. A memorial service
will be held Tuesday, July 12, at the LDS Chapel, 575 S. 400 W., Orem, at
11:00 am. The family will receive friends and neighbors at 9:30 am. Graveside
services at East Lawn Cemetery at 11:00 am, July 5, 2005.

Lanier Jr., William Arthur
William Arthur Lanier, Jr. 1975 ~ 2005 William Arthur Lanier, Jr., 29, passed
away July 3, 2005 in Price. Billy was born Nov. 11, 1975 in Salt Lake City,
Utah to Christine M. Hosie and William Arthur Lanier, Sr. He graduated from
Hunter High and the College of Eastern Utah where he also taught Sociology. He
also graduated from the Bond University in Australia and William Penn
University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Billy loved to travel and loved seeing the
world. He also loved nature and people. He was an active member of the LDS
Church. He has many friends all over the world and he will be deeply missed.
Billy is survived by his parents, William Lanier Sr., Salt Lake, Christine
(Verne) Hosie, Nephi; sisters, Christel (Alan) Powers, Merry, Sophia and Mai
Hosie, Nephi; brothers, Jon (Angela) Lanier, Provo, David Lanier, Nephi,
Lorraine Lanier, Salt Lake, Karl, Joseph, Brighten, and Christopher Hosie,
Nephi; 11 nieces and nephews; grandparents, Helmut and Christel Mueller and
Fay Hosie. Preceded in death by his brother, Paul Adam and grandparents,
William and Joan Lanier. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2005
at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South, West
Valley City. The family will receive friends at a viewing Saturday morning
from 10:45 until 12:45 a.m. prior to the service at Valley View Funeral Home.

Mackay, Jennifer Elaine
Jennifer Elaine Mackay 1972 ~ 2005 Jennifer was born to Edith and Merlin
Mackay 5 Sep. 1972 in Salt Lake City. She passed in her sleep 3 July 2005,
thus freeing her from intense pain and disabling illness. She joined the 144th
Medical Unit -Evacuation Hospital of the National Guard, finished basic
training at Ft. Dix 10 Aug. 1990. She served during the Gulf War in training
at AIT in San Antonio, Texas. She worked as a pharmacy technician and
graduated in 1999 from the University of Utah in Pharmacy. She worked at
several hospitals and pharmacies as a "floater", was pharmacy manager at Rite
Aide, and was working at K-Mart in West Valley City when her health problems
forced her to go on disability early in 2005. Jennifer married Jason W. Warr
on 18 July, 1992 in the Manti Temple, later divorced. She married Michael Ray
Barrandey on 31 December 1997, later divorced. Survivors are her parents,
Merlin and Edith Mackay, Cedar City, siblings: Joe LeBaron, Qualicum Beach,
BC; Julie LeBaron, Cedar City; Jill (Joe) Armijo, Covington, WA; Janelle
(Robert) Billings, Mission, TX; Troy (Samantha) Mackay, Seattle, WA; Kurt
(Ann) Mackay, Parowan; Kenneth (Trisha) Mackay, St. George; 20 nieces and
nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, the 9th of July at the Cedar
View Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1925 West 320
So. Cedar City UT. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church, follwed
by the service at 12 Noon. Interment will be held at the Cedar City Cemetery.

Millett, Merill J.
Merrill J Millett 1933 ~ 2005 Merrill J Millett passed away peacefully on July
5, 2005 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Merrill
was born on March 14, 1933 to Archie Calvin and Isabelle Asay Millett in
Sutherland, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Shirley Harston, in the Logan
Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. They have been
married for 52 years. Shortly after his marriage, he was called to serve his
first mission to the Southern States Mission, which included Georgia, Florida,
and Alabama. He served in the U. S. Army 1955 - 1956. Merrill's career
included several years of banking with First Security Bank. He later became
General Manager for Moon Lake Electric in Roosevelt, Utah. His career then
took him to Sandy where he was the General Manager for Deseret Generation &
Transmission. He served on the State Board of Higher Education and the
Institutional Council for Utah State University. Upon his retirement, Merrill
and Shirley served a mission together in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1998, Merrill
was called to serve as the President of the Florida Tallahassee Mission with
his wife. Merrill enjoyed family history and also spent several hours a week
serving in the Jordan River Temple. Merrill was a man of integrity and
dedication for which he will always be remembered. He was a member of the LDS
Church where he served in several capacities which included Bishop, Counselor
in Stake Presidencies and Stake Patriarch where he blessed the lives of many.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Harston Millett, eight children, Richard
(Georgia) Millett, Vernal, Utah; Cay (Terry) McKee, Hesperia, California;
Wayne (Julie) Millett, Aberdeen, Idaho; Rodney (Cathy) Millett, Green Bay,
Wisconsin; David (Paula) Millett, Sandy, Utah; Daniel (Sara) Millett, Round
Rock, Texas; Jana (Steven) Warner, Draper, Utah; and Vicki Millett, Draper,
Utah. He is also survived by three brothers, Archie, Ronald, and Larry. He was
preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Voneta Hopkins and Nina Nichols
and one grandson. He was a proud grandfather of 32 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren. Well, Dad. You always knew when it was time to go home.
We just wish it didn't have to be so soon. Funeral Services will be held
Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Draper 2nd Ward, 1617 East 12700
South. Friends and family may call at the ward Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
and Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Funeral Directors, Holladay Cottonwood
Mortuary.

Nieser, Connie Roberts
Connie Roberts Nieser 1937 ~ 2005 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister
and friend, Connie Roberts Nieser, 68, died suddenly of heart failure on July
2, 2005 at the Las Vegas, Nevada home of her son. She was born in Salt Lake
City, Utah on April 24, 1937 to Harold F. Roberts, Sr. and Frances Mulliner
Roberts. She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and the
University of Utah where she was the president of her sorority (Alpha Delta
Pi). She married Donald E. Nieser in 1958. She was a gifted teacher and
starting her teaching career at Olympus High School in Salt Lake City. She
also taught Sunday School, Seminary and other classes in the LDS church. She
was a Professor of Accounting for 24 years at the Oklahoma City Community
College. Besides teaching, her passions were reading, theater, and travel. Her
recent travels included Egypt, Africa, China, Europe, Panama, and South
America. She was a financial supporter of the Lyric and Jewel Box theaters and
the OKC Philharmonic. Survived by husband Donald, daughter Susan, son Mark
(Debbie), granddaughter Morgan, sister Joan (Mike) Jones, brother and
sister-in-law (Dan and Audrey Anderson), sister-in-law Darla Roberts and
brother-in-law DuWayne Morris. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made
to the OCCC Foundation, Connie Nieser Memorial Scholarship Fund, 7777 S. May,
Oklahoma City OK 73159. Memorial service in Oklahoma City on Thursday July 7th
at 4 p.m. in the OCC College theater, 7777 S. May (use parking lot D, entry

Ousa, Bounmy
Bounmy Ousa 1946 ~ 2005 Bounmy passed away July 7, 2005. He was born in Laos
May 5, 1946 and came to America in 1983. Bounmy was a very loving father and
grandfather. Survived by his wife and five children. A viewing will be held

Parrish, Gloria F.
Gloria F. Parrish "A Bright Spirit" At 12 noon on the fourth of July, 2005 the
light of my life departed this planet. Gloria F. Parrish was born Gloria
Delores Folwarczny, the seventh sibling, on June 5, 1928 in New York City from
solid Polish stock. In the early 1940's it was my good fortune that the family
moved to the San Fernando Valley and a blind date engineered by her sister,
Helen, completed the circle. Our marriage in 1947 started a 58 year romance
that was indeed singular. Gloria kept the wolf from the door working as a
dental assistant in San Francisco and New York when the new addition, our only
son, Bryan came to brighten our lives as we completed our training in Boston.
This tiny family then moved back to Salt Lake City where she flowered into
full womanhood developing multiple interests with expertise in many areas. She
leaves a daughter in-law, Kristine and two beautiful grandchildren, Erika and
Kurt. Our loss will brighten the heavens. Memorial services will be conducted
at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 E 100 S., Friday, July 8, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. In
lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Humane Society of
Utah (4242 Commerce Dr, Salt Lake City, 84107) of the Heritage Foundation of
Washington D.C. (214 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington D.C. 20002-4999).

Rapp, Earl Wayne
Earl Wayne Rapp 1925 ~ 2005 Earl Wayne Rapp died on July 4, 2005 in Salt Lake
City. He was born on March 31, 1925 to Clinton B. and Maude Rapp. He graduated
from South High School and attended the University of Utah where he studied
Electrical Engineering. Earl spent the last 53 years married to the love of
his life, Madeline. Together, they raised six children. Earl had a great love
for golf and spending time on the course with his life long friends. During
his life, he built two boats that he enjoyed for many years with his family.
He loved anything electrical, there was nothing he could not build or fix. He
had many accomplishments at his job with Questar Gas and retired after 43
years as the Director of Building Services. He was most proud of the time he
spent in the Navy where he fought for his country in World War II on a mine
sweeper. He also served in the Korean War. Earl loved family gatherings and
spending time with his children and grandchildren. Earl is survived by his
wife Madeline, daughters Sherry Craig, Dana (Patrick) Cluck, Gail (Paul)
Coleman, son James (Tammera) Rapp, ten grandchildren and five great
grandchildren, sister Elaine (Bob) Stewart, sister in law Donna Rapp, brother
in law Gordon (Norma) Young and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in
death by his son Michael and daughter Debra, brother Clinton B. Jr. and sister
Yvonne. Funeral services will be held on July 9, 2005 at Deseret Memorial
Mortuary 36 East 700 South, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at a
viewing one hour prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park 3401
South Highland Drive. So long Peanut, we'll miss you

Rasmussen, Enid Ellen Gustaveson
Enid Ellen Gustaveson Rasmussen 1917 ~ 2005 Enid Ellen Gustaveson Rasmussen,
passed away on July 4, 2005 at age 87. She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Holden,
Utah to Carl Olof and Katherine Teeples Gustaveson. She was the sixth of seven
children, the last living sibling. Enid married John Doris Rasmussen on Feb.
15, 1934. Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent the first
couple years of their marriage living in Fillmore, Utah. The summer of 1936,
they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the loving mother of two children,
who were the focus of her life. Enid was an active member of the LDS Church
and served many church callings throughout her life. She and John worked as
temple workers in the Salt Lake Temple. Enid and John enjoyed many hobbies and
crafts, which they shared together and with others. Some of these included
ceramics, gardening, jewelry making, cooking and rock collecting exertions.
She is survived by her son Jack K. Rasmussen, six grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Kaye and husband
John. Enid had a very kind and sweet spirit and had a way of letting those
around her know that they were loved and cared for. The family would like to
extend a special thank you to the loving staff at Alta Ridge Alzheimer's
Community, Alta View Hospital and Dr. David Breding. Graveside Services will
be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park,
3401 Highland Drive. Friends and family may visit at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary
from 11:00 to 1:00, prior to services.

Seguin, Josephine M. Cassity
Josephine M. Cassity Seguin 1911 ~ 2005 Josephine May Seguin, age 94, passed
away peacefully July 5, 2005 in the company of her lifelong friend, Linda Lee
Geertsen and her brother Glen and his wife. She was loved by all that knew her
and was a beautiful caring person who gave great service to others. She was
born May 2, 1911 in Grantsville, Utah to George A. and Frances A. Cassity.
Josephine was the ninth child of 11 born to her parents. She married Harold A.
Johnson May 23, 1930, in Tooele, UT. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt
Lake Temple on March 16, 1934. He died Nov. 15, 1935 of pneumonia. She married
Joseph C. Seguin Jan. 26, 1940, now deceased. Josephine was a life-long member
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her greatest love was
the Gospel of Jesus Christ as restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith. She served
in many capacities. She served a mission in 1957-1959 to Northern California.
She was a valiant soul to the truth and great example of living the gospel as
a true saint. She worked as a Dental Assistant and later worked at Veterans
Hospital. Also worked in Anchorage, Alaska in the medical field. Retired from
Hill Field after many years of service. She had great integrity and possessed
many talents which included poetry, singing and gardening. She was devoted and
loved her family and friends and spent many hours doing genealogy work.
Josephine exemplified the true pioneer spirit of a woman. She is survived by
her brother John Glen (Regine) Cassity of Seattle, Washington and numerous
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother George
W., sisters Edith, Iva, Olive, Frances, Ruth, Dora, Laura, and Verna. She was
greatly loved and will be missed. A special thank you to the staff at Brighton
Gardens and St. Joseph Villa for their special care. Funeral services will be
held Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 12 Noon in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East
South Temple, where family and friends may call from 10:30-11:45 a.m.
Interment will be at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South.

Sheffield, Russell H.
Russell H. Sheffield 1924 ~ 2005 BOUNTIFUL - Our beloved husband, father,
brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, Russell Heber Sheffield, returned
to his Heavenly Father at age 81 on July 2, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah, after a
valiant battle with Alzheimer's. He was born June 14, 1924 to Kenneth H.
Sheffield and Lucile Beck Sheffield in Kaysville, Utah. He was schooled in
Davis County and attended Brigham Young University, University of New Mexico
and Columbia University in New York City. He graduated from BYU in 1947. An
active member of the LDS church having served as Ward and Stake clerks, Stake
Presidency (twice), Bishop, High Priest Group Leader, Gospel Doctrine class
instructor, Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake Temple for 14 years and as an
Ordinance Worker in the Bountiful Temple for two years. Ordained a Patriarch
in 1971 and served in that capacity in four Stakes. Russell served on the
Board of Directors of the South Davis Community Hospital for over 40 years,
retiring in 2002. He served as a U.S. Navy officer during World War II. He
married Harriet Jane Young June 28, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She
preceded him in death. They had three sons and two daughters. He married Gayle
Winkler Farr Jan. 6, 1987 in the Hawaiian LDS Temple. They served four
missions together - including, Directors of the Joseph Smith Birthplace in
Sharon, Vermont; a full time mission on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He also served as a missionary in the Missionary Department of the LDS Church
in Salt Lake City. Together Russell and Gayle have nine children: Thomas H.
(Verlynn) Sheffield of Bountiful; Russell Y. (Marsha) Sheffield of Kaysville;
Jeanene (Kent) Jackson of Rexburg, Idaho; Kevin A. (Judy) Sheffield of
Bountiful; Paula (David) Hill of Woods Cross; Jody (Jim) Marsden of Midvale;
Cory (Laree) Farr of Salt Lake; Laine (Sharon) Farr of Spanaway, Washington
and Jill (Gary) Barker of West Bountiful. Russell has 30 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren; brothers: Sherman (Karma Rae) Sheffield, Homer deceased
(Bernice) Sheffield, and Beck (Andrea) Sheffield; sisters Jo Ann (Ned) Roueche
and Joyce (Phil) Kunz. He loved his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ
and emulated love, integrity and charity to all especially to his family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the
Bountiful 9th Ward 585 East Center Street. Friends and Family may call from 6
to 8 p.m. Friday July 8, 2005 At Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary 295 North
Main Street in Bountiful and Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30
a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church Perpetual
Education Fund or the Missionary Fund. Interment in the Kaysville City
Cemetery.

Sorensen, HannahMay Alice
HannahMay Alice Sorensen 1996 ~ 2005 Our Precious HannahMay Alice Sorensen, 8,
returned to her Father in Heaven on July 6, 2005. She was born September 5,
1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roger Alton and Rebecca Alice Selph Sorensen.
HannahMay finished 2nd grade at Eastwood Elementary School. HannahMay loved to
draw, dance, play and lived this time on earth to its fullest! HannahMay is
survived by her caring parents and loving siblings Abram, Lillianna, Nathan,
Robert and Charlotte; her grandparents, aunts and uncles. Funeral services
will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the East Millcreek 16th
Ward, 3408 South Celeste Way. A viewing will be held at the church at 10:30
a.m. prior to services where friends and family may call. Interment will
follow at Salt Lake City Cemetery. Arrangements by SereniCare, Funeral
Directors. Forever cherished by all, HannahMay is waiting for us safe in the
arms of the Lord. She came to us in a hurry, and left too soon. We miss you
so, our sweet Snugglebug, always.

Tolman, Elizabeth W.
Elizabeth W. Tolman 1914 - 2005 Elizabeth Whitaker Tolman, age 90, of
Bountiful, passed away peacefully at the Bountiful House on Thursday, July 7,
2005. She was born September 28, 1914 in Farmington, Utah - the fourth child
in a family of eight to Edmond and Elizabeth Wood Whitaker. She graduated from
Davis High in 1933 and married her high-school sweetheart, Warde, on July 3,
1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. Beth now joins her beloved, Warde, who passed
away on May 1, 1989. Beth began working for Mountain Bell Telephone company in
1947 and planned to work one year, but retired 25 years later. She traveled
extensively with her husband to many parts of the world, but her favorite spot
was at Disneyland with the grandchildren. Beth and Warde served for 18 months
as LDS missionaries in the Independence, Missouri Visitor's Center. For over
40 years, Beth and Warde enjoyed singing duets for many occasions in the
Bountiful area. To be a guest in their home and be served Beth's legendary
roast beef and hot roles was a culinary treat. Survived by her son, Jay
(Valerie) and daughter, DeeAnn (Monte) Bird; sisters, Luana Foote and Nedra
Cardall; sister in law, Noriene Bombard; as well as eight grandchildren and 19
great grandchildren. We are grateful for the loving care given our Mother by
the staff of Bountiful House and Ann Martineau of IHC Hospice Care. Funeral
services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9th, at the LDS Bountiful Third
Ward, 51 South Main, Bountiful, where family and friends may call 11:45 a.m. -
12:45 p.m. prior to service. Interment at the Bountiful Cemetery. Funeral
