Allen, Geraldine Seamons
Geraldine Seamons Allen 1931 ~ 2005 Geraldine, 73, died July 11, 2005, in
American Fork, Utah. She was born July 26, 1931 in Logan, Utah to Melva Hill
and Ray Thurston Seamons. She married Alvon Jay Allen on Sept. 4, 1948 in
Logan, Utah. Graduated from Logan High, lived in West Valley for many years
then lived in American Fork for the last seven years. She was a Den Mother,
member of the Good Sam RV Club and enjoyed her cabin at Bear Lake. She enjoyed
and loved her children and grandchildren and was the neighborhood grandmother.
Survived by her husband, two sons Rick J. (Jean) of Highland, Scot E. (Caryn)
of S. Jordan, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Services will be
11 a.m. Thurs. in American Fork Hillcrest 2nd Ward, 1120 N. 150 W. Viewings 6
to 8 p.m. Wed evening in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., AF and
one hour prior to services at the church. Burial American Fork Cemetery.

Calderwood, Boyd
Boyd Calderwood 1920 ~ 2005 Boyd Alexander Calderwood, age 84, passed away
peacefully on Saturday the 9th of July, 2005 at his home in Logan. He was born
August 14, 1920 in Park City, Utah to Alexander Calderwood and Elda Pearl
Page. On July 19, 1941 he married Arlene Pearl Rogers. On January 8, 1991, he
married Wanda Haas. Boyd is survived by his wife, Wanda of Logan; his
children: Carol (Kent) Labrum of Salt Lake City; Buddy (Cheryl) Calderwood of
Rexburg, Idaho; Diane (Kenny) Light of Seattle, Washington; Rick (Nancy)
Calderwood of North Logan; John (Tami) Calderwood of Heber City, and Linda
Bettwieser of Salt Lake City; also Wanda's children: Lois Bell, Salt Lake
City; Andy Bell, Salt Lake City; Robert (Debbie) Haas, Logan; and Michael
Haas, Logan. He is also survived by his sisters: Francis Boatright of Crage,
Colorado and Venna Mae (Clayton) Clifford of Shoshone, Idaho. He is loved by
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his
parents, a son, Michael Calderwood; a sister, Fae Ogzewalla; a brother, Tom
Calderwood; and Wanda's daughter, Karen Haas. Funeral services will be held at
12:00 noon, Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the Willow Valley First Ward Chapel,
600 North 100 West, in Logan. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening,
July 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan
and Thursday morning at the church from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services.
Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery with Military Honors

Cedeno, Phyllis Chatterley
Phyllis Chatterley Cedeno 1941 ~ 2005 Phyllis Chatterley Cedeno, age 64, of
Orem, passed away July 11, 2005 after a valiant struggle with cancer. She was
born in Cedar City to Clifton and Lillian Jarvis Chatterley. Survivors include
her husband Luis Cedeno; two step-children Vanessa (Jorge) Altamirano, Luis
(Grisel) Cedeno Jr.; eight grandchildren: Rebecca, Michell, Emilio, Skylette,
Luis, Michael, Christopher and Adam; a beloved sister and brother, Jane (Ryan)
Beuhring and John (Vicki) Chatterley and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis
graduated from BYU with a degree in Physical Education and a Masters in
Guidance and Counseling. She taught in CA and UT. She was LDS and served
faithfully in many callings including Relief Society President and in various
capacities in the Young Women's Program and enjoyed doing temple work. Her
greatest joy came from spending time with her husband and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14th, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Orem
3rd Ward Chapel 50 South 800 East in Orem. Viewings: Wednesday from 7 to 9
p.m. at the Sundberg- Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem, and also
Thursday one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel. Interment will be
in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at

Fuhriman, David Edwin
David Edwin Fuhriman "Grandpa Ed" David Edwin Fuhriman passed away July 10,
2005 in Salt Lake City. Ed was born December 2, 1913 to John D. and Margaret
Rice Fuhriman in Providence, Utah. He graduated from South Cache High School.
Ed married Belle Adams May 29, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in
the Salt Lake Temple. Ed loved the Lord and was valiant in his service to Him.
In all his callings he gave the best he had. He was a High Priest in the 21st
North Ward where he served in two bishoprics. He also served on the Emigration
Stake High Council under four stake presidents. In addition he was Elders
Quorum president, ward assistant High Priest Quorum Group Leader, stake Young
Men's president and was a faithful home teacher. Professionally he was known
as an honest and hard worker. He began his career at D&RG Railroad where he
served his apprenticeship as journeyman boiler maker. After World War II he
was employed by Eimco Corporation and retired from there after 30 years of
employment. Ed was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Russell; three
sisters; and four brothers. He is survived by three children, Margaret (Warren
"Butch) Latey, South Jordan, Claudia (Glen) Eliason, Ogden; and one son, David
H. (Karen) Fuhriman, Salt Lake City. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren;
and nine great-grandchildren. Ed loved working in his garden on the Avenues
where he shared his fruits, vegetables, and flowers with his family, friends,
and neighbors for many years. He was known and loved by many as a great friend
and neighbor. He was most proud of the titles "Dad" and "Grandpa," and was
loved and revered by those who called him such. Funeral services will be held
Wed-nesday, July 13, 2005, 11 a.m. at the 21st North Ward, 680 E. 2nd Ave.
Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and
from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the ward. Interment, Salt Lake
City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to LDS Church
Missionary Fund.

Gardner, Betty Edna Beck
Betty Edna Beck Gardner 1923 ~ 2005 LAYTON - Betty Beck Gardner, 81, passed
away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Apple Village Assisted Living Center, in
Layton, Utah of natural causes. Betty was born August 30, 1923 in Riverside,
CA to Clair Mathew Beck, Sr., and Mary Edna Clark. The family moved to Kansas
and then Jay, Florida where she graduated from high school. Mom met Norman
George Gardner in Pensacola, FL where she worked as a 'soda jerk'. Dad was
stationed at Eglin Field and fell for mom and her pineapple milkshakes
immediately. They were married April 1, 1945 in Pensacola. They moved to
Huntington, UT where they started their family, then moved to Farmington, UT
where she joined the LDS church and served many years in the Primary
organization and raised her five children. Mom and Dad were active in the
Farmington Jaycees organization where she served as president of the women's
auxiliary. Mom is survived by her sisters, Eleanor Green, Macon, GA; Doris
Braunhardt, Ft. Pierce, FL; and her children, Harry (Linda), Carol (Ray)
Rasmussen, Darlene (Norman) Robbins, Beckie (Steve) Dragon, and Gary. Mom and
Dad have 26 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Norman; and brothers, Claire, Jr., Donald and Harry. The
family will remember her love for swimming. She was a Red Cross swimming
instructor at the Lagoon Resort for many years. And also for her love of
acrobatics in the years she spent as a drum majorette for Jay High School.
Well, Mom, you finally made it after all the hardships and challenges placed
in your path. We celebrate with you, your graduation to a higher calling. Your
family and friends love you dearly and are grateful for our association with
you. You and your sweet spirit will be missed. A special thanks to the
wonderful staffs of the Apple Tree, Apple Village, and Hospice of Utah for
their tender loving care and friendships over the last fourteen years. Funeral
services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2005, 11 a.m. at the LDS Rock
Chapel, 272 North Main, Farmington. Friends may call Tuesday at the
Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday

Henrie, Verna Ann
Verna Ann Henrie 1948 ~ 2005 It is the dawning of a new day for each of us!
For those left behind, we must say, "see you later." For those beyond the veil
it will be an embrace and hello. Whatever our station at this moment, we pause
to celebrate the life of Verna Ann and mourn her passing into the next life.
Verna entered this life August 5th, 1948 and in a peaceful moment as the early
rays of sunlight entered the room on July 9th 2005, our wife, mother,
daughter, and friend bid farewell to all she held dear in mortality, laid the
cares of this world aside and entered into her next big adventure. While
cancer raided her physical body, nothing could diminish the legacy and love
that continues now in each of us. It is good to have an end to the journey,
but it is the journey that matters in the end. Verna Ann's love of family, her
husband and seven children, were her life's work. Everything she did was to
bring peace, happiness, joy, comfort, solace and love to her family. It is the
completion of that work and devotion on this earth, which will leave a void in
our hearts as we wait the time of reunion. Her love extended to friends and
neighbors as well. The outpouring of love, comfort, prayers and concern was
evidence of this during the battle she fought so valiantly. At time peace
eluded us until we spent time with Verna. Her spirit would calm and soothe
even the most troubled heart. In addition to her human family, Verna raised
and cared for a family of animals who will rejoice at her entrance into
heaven. We never knew a home without the presence of a dog, cat, bunnies, or
horses. It is impossible to summarize a life as fulfilled and meaningful as
Verna's. Those who know her understand who she is and will carry in their
hearts forever how they were blessed by her life. It is also our privilege to
share our memories, sorrows and joys with future generations so they may come
to know the woman, mother, daughter, wife and friend know as Verna Ann. Mom,
it is time to saddle your horse and ride with the wind at your back, the water
at your feet and peace in your heart. Watch over us as only you can and be the
sunshine on our shoulders. We love you and will see you soon. Vernal is
survived by her husband Steve Henrie of Orem; her mother LaVon J. Lindsay of
Orem; three sons and three daughters: Ryan Stephen and Ann Westover Henrie,
Salt Lake City; Robert and Holly Ann Lowe, Pleasant Grove; Keith and Megan
Johnson, Orem; Hutch Lindsay Henrie, Salt Lake City; Cashia Anne Henrie, Orem;
and Tyson Jed Henrie, Orem; two grandchildren and two sisters: Glenna Hammond,
Portola Valley, CA; and Madelyn Parrish, North Logan, UT. She was preceded in
death by a daughter, Ashley Henrie and her father Harold G. Lindsay. Funeral
services will be held Wednesday at 12 noon in the Timp Park 2nd Ward Chapel at
1000 North Main, Orem. Friends and family may call at the Walker Sanderson
Funeral Home in Orem at 600 East 800 North on Tuesday evening from 6 - 9 p.m.
and Wednesday at the Ward Chapel from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in

Jaenish, Eric R.
Eric R. Jaenish 1919 ~ 2005 Eric R. Jaenish passed away on July 9, 2005. He
was born October 19. 1919 in Strehlen Germany. He is survived by his wife
Landi, two sons, Mike (Chris) and Ralph and daughter Dolores. He was preceded
in death by one son Klaus Dieter at an early age. Eric loved to have a captive
audience for the many stories he had to tell. Thanks to the staff of the
Silverado Rehab Center for the loving care. Eric was cremated on July 10, 2005
at the Holbrook Mortuary.

Love, Helen Mae
Helen Mae Love Grandma & Grammy Helen passed away July 11, 2005. She was born
April 3, 1914 in Kellogg, Idaho. She married Roy E. Love June 25, 1932; he
preceded her in death on November 20, 1974. She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Neil R. and Linda Love; daughter, Janice; grandchildren,
Kristy (Jimmy) Dunyon, Shelly (Rod) Miller, Randy, Terri (Roger) Urry;
great-grandchildren, Devinee and Dalaynee Dunyon, Alexander Miller, Timmy
Urry, and Colby and Jody; all her special nieces and nephews; special friends,
Pat McGraw, Bonnie Devenish, Arlene Evanoff and families. Preceded in death by
her husband, parents, siblings and special friend, Dorothy Aste. Mom's wishes
were to have a graveside service. It will be held Wednesday, July 13th, 11
a.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.

Mathews, Mary Olivia
Mary Olivia Mathews 1928 ~ 2005 Mary Olivia Mathews passed away on July 9,
2005. She was born on March 16, 1928 in Lander, WY. She lived in various towns
in Nevada, Wyoming, and Idaho. She eloped to Ely, NV with her sweetheart, pal,
and partner Donald on Jan. 16, 1948; they were later sealed for all eternity
April 11, 1958. She retired from Beehive Clothing in 1990. She was also a
loyal employee of Albertson's, JC Penney's, Dec's, and the U of U Huddle. She
was a dedicated servant of her Heavenly Father in numerous positions for the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her smile and contagious
conversation will always be in our hearts. She now joins her parents, two
brothers and one sister, and will be holding her baby Craig for the first
time. She is leaving behind her loving husband, Donald; her children, John
(Carolyn)Taylorsville, Don (Linda) of South Jordan, Duane of Taylorsville,
Greg (Melanie) of Henderson, NV, Mary Jane of West Valley City; 24
grandchildren, 25 great-grand children, three great-great grandchildren, one
brother, and six sisters. The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude
to the Christus St. Joseph Villa for their loving care and compassion in her
last days. Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Wed., July 13, 2005 at the
Copperhill Fourth Ward Chapel, 4333 South 6400 West with a viewing from 10:30
a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at
Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery.

Andrew Julius McDonald 5/25/05 ~ 7/10/05 Our little miracle has gone home in
the arms of his Father in Heaven. Andrew our little boy blue is survived by
his daddy Bruce R. McDonald, mommy Christy A. McDonald and two big brothers
Ryan and Alec. We miss you and will love you forever. Families are Forever.

Nitz, Guenter
Guenter Nitz 1931 ~ 2005 Guenter Nitz passed away peacefully in his home at
the side of his loving wife, Gisela, July 9, 2005. Guenter was born on June
19, 1931 in Essen, Germany to Wilhelm Friedrich and Veronika Zdunnek Nitz.
Guenter served a full-time mission for the LDS Church in Hamburg, Germany, and
served his country faithfully in the US Armed Forces. He was loved by all who
met him. He always had a positive attitude, even when things weren't going
well. Guenter's greatest possession was his family. He did everything he could
for them. He was a great example of love and giving what he had. He always
made people laugh, even during his illness. Guenter is survived by his loving
wife of 47 years, Gisela; daughter, Diane Allen; son, Michael (Alison) Nitz;
nine grandchildren, whom he loved very much. They will miss their Opa. What a
great reunion it will be with him again. WE LOVE YOU, OPA! Funeral services
for Guenter will be held Wednesday July 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Parley's
5th Ward, 2615 East Stringham Ave. (2287 So.), where friends may call from
9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Sandall, Maxine Moore
Maxine Moore Sandall "Grandma Max" MAGNA - Maxine Moore Sandall, born December
12, 1920, returned to Her Heavenly Father and her beloved Curley July 11,
2005. She was born in Garfield, Utah the daughter of John Lloyd and Pearl
Argyle Moore. She married Steven L. (Curley) Sandall November 23, 1949, later
solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Maxine was an active member of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings throughout
her life but her favorite was the Primary. Maxine loved working as a secretary
at Hercules and retired after 25 years of service. Maxine's family and
traditions are her legacy. Christmas breakfast, the fourth of July, and
vacation will never be the same without her. Her last few wonderful years were
spent going to lunch with her best friend Lavern and buying ice cream cones
for her great grandchildren who she loved very much: WE LOVE YOU GRANDMA MAX!!
She is survived by daughter Michele (Jerry) Yeates, step-son, Wayne (LaVelle)
Sandall, step-daughter, Lynn (Alan) Keil, eight grandchildren, many
great-grandchildren, and one brother, John Lloyd (Jack) Moore Jr. She was
preceded in death by her husband Curley, parents, sister, Deon, and
granddaughter, Shelly Loutensock. The family would like to thank the staff at
Rocky Mountain Care for their loving care of mother. Funeral services will be
12 noon, Thursday July 14, 2005 at the Elk Run Chapel, 3084 South 8400 West,

Sharp, Vonda L.
Vonda L. Sharp 07/26/31 ~ 07/09/05 Vonda L. Sharp, 73, passed away suddenly
July 9, 2005 at her home. She was born July 26, 1931 in Provo, UT to Claude
and Bertha Larson. On September 14, 1951 she married Keith P. Sharp in the
Logan LDS Temple. Vonda was a devoted mother of two, Rhonda (Jim) Jensen of
West Valley City, and Leo (Betty Jo) Sharp of Payson. She was a grandmother of
nine and a great-grandmother of six. Vonda was preceded in death by her
husband, Keith; her parents; and siblings. She served faithfully in numerous
church callings. Vonda uplifted many with her thoughtful and loving nature.
Those who knew her were touched by her sweet spirit and kindness. All who knew
Vonda loved her, and will miss her deeply. Funeral services will be held, 11
a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the Midvalley 6th Ward, 1106 E. 8055 S. in
Sandy. Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial
Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E. in Murray, and also an hour prior to services at the
church Wednesday.

Shepard, Bea
Bea Shepard 1921 ~ 2005 Emma Beata (Bea) Killpack Shepard, 84, loving wife,
mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away July 10, 2005 at her
home in Tooele, Utah surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous
battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born January 4, 1921 in Ferron, Utah to
Clive and Mary Iva Killpack, the first of nine children. She married Guy
Russell Shepard, January 17, 1947, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Bea graduated from beauty school and owned and operated a beauty salon for
over 40 years. She sold real estate for six years. Bea was a devoted member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully as a
Relief Society President, MIA President, Sunday school teacher, visiting
teacher and camp director. She and her husband Guy were Temple workers for 12
years, serving as a supervisor for several years. Her service was filled with
love and charity. Her unconditional love extended even beyond her family and
friends to include anyone in need of assistance or support. She was an active,
supportive mother and grandmother. She encouraged her grandchildren's talents
by attending their activities. She taught her family the gospel by example.
Gardening, canning, hunting, fishing, cooking and making hand-made items for
others were some of her greatest joys. She is survived by her son, Jonathan
(Sandy) of Grantsville, Utah; daughters: Susan Shepard, Tooele; Anne (Steven)
Pratt, Tooele; Beata (Jeff) Clifford, South Weber; 23 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two
brothers, three sisters and one grandchild, Blake Clifford. Funeral services
will be Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tooele 5th Ward, 196
North Pinehurst, Tooele, Utah. Viewing on Tuesday, July 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Tate Mortuary and 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services at Tate Mortuary. Interment
at Tooele City Cemetery. A special thanks to Heritage Home Care, Community
Nursing Service, and Hospice nurse Sue Barrus for such loving support to our
family.
