Perseverance and hard work were the hallmarks of Marie's life. She learned the value of hard work and reliability from her mother, and she, in turn, passed these values on to her children. After Ken's untimely death, Marie was faced with the task of keeping the family together, and making it possible for each of her children to complete their education and continue with their lives. Her life was a life of service to others, especially her family. To know her was to love her; she was truly a person "without guile," and will be greatly missed. Marie is the last survivor of her generation, and has anxiously anticipated reuniting with Ken and those who have passed on before her. Her children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive her.
