Allred, Lola Winona Justesen
Lola Winona Justesen Allred 1913 ~ 2005 Lola Winona Justesen Allred, 91,
Spring City, died June 14, 2005 at her home in Spring City from causes
incident to age. Born August 1, 1913, Spring City, daughter of John F. and
Lola Jane Allred Justesen. Married June 12, 1942, to Louis Samuel Allred in
the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served in
various auxiliary organizations of the church and was a faithful visiting
teacher for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis, and
daughter, Vicky Sue. She is survived by children Jim (Marilyn), Robert
(Nedra), David (Diana), John (Dianne), Cynthia and Randy Allred all of Spring
City. She has 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services
will be held on Saturday 12 noon, Spring City Ward chapel. Friends can call
Friday 6-8 p.m. Rasmussen Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant and 10 to 11:30 prior to
services at chapel. Burial, Spring City Cemetery.

Belt, Mary Lavina Searle MacFarlane
Mary Lavina Searle MacFarlane Belt 1915 ~ 2005 Mary Lavina Searle MacFarlane
Belt, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2005, in Bountiful, Utah. Mary was
born on February 1, 1915 in Tridell, Utah to William Reed Searle and Mary Jane
Boren. She married Kenneth Ray MacFarlane, they had three sons and were later
divorced. She later married Howard Roe Belt on June 16, 1950. Mary was a
faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed
serving in the temple and the Lord in many other ways. She also loved quilting
and spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her husband Howard,
sons; Ray Deloy (Terry) MacFarlane and Verl (Janet) MacFarlane, daughters;
Arleen (Arvill) Pace, Sharon Belt, sons; Roland D. (Adell) Belt, Chad Belt,
brother; Robert Leo Searle, sister; Louetta Pritchett, 28 grandchildren, 46
great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in
death by her parents, son; Edwin Glen MacFarlane, brother; William Reed
Searle, Floyd Albert Searle, sisters; Eteleen Twitchell, Uinta Zufelt, LaRee
Taylor and Lorna Russell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18,
2005,at 12 noon at the Western Hills Ward, 5380 West 5400 South in Kearns.
Friends and family are invited to call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lakehills
Mortuary, 10055 South State Street in Sandy, and one hour prior to services on
Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Lakehills Memorial Cemetery.

Black, Ron
Ron Black 1958~2005 Ronald Lee Black, age 47, passed away on June 14, 2005, in
his sister Linda's arms after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in
Columbus, Ohio, May 1, 1958 and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Salt
Lake City, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army as a crew chief on a MedEvac
helicopter. Ron owned several of his own businesses in Salt Lake City, worked
as a caretaker on a ranch in Soldotna, Alaska, and fished commercially. He
owned a 36 foot Tri-marand sailboat he planned to sail in Prince William
Sound. After diagnosed with cancer, Ron returned to Salt Lake City where he
worked as a manager for American Lenders until his death. Ron's strength,
stamina, courage, positive attitude, humor, and smile have inspired all who
know him. He taught so many of us by his example and made our lives richer by
his willingness to share his time, personality, and knowledge. Thank you, Ron,
for being our son, our brother, our father, our grandfather, our
father-in-law, our uncle, our nephew, our cousin, our friend. We love you! You
will be missed immensely! He is survived by his parents, Reed and Peggy Black
of Mesa, AZ; his five children Heather Christensen, Sarah Anderson, Lisa
Kilpatrick, Alan Pack, and Justin Black; sons-in-law Chris Christensen, Terry
Anderson, and Jim Kilpatrick; eight grandchildren Brooklynn, Aspen, Carson,
Cameron, Hannah, Sullivan, Fisher, and Alexa; seven siblings Peggy Stevens,
Donna Allen, Connie Myers, Robert Black, Linda Murray, Rick Black, and Chris
Black; in-laws Cal Cottrell, John Stevens, Danny Allen, Bruce Myers, Marilyn
Black, Ross Murray, and Jeanne Black; his biological mother, Barbara Van
Cleave; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends
in Alaska, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, and Cedar City. Ron was preceded in
death by his sister, Mary Cottrell, his biological father, Dallas Gray, and
his grandparents. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the Huntsman
Cancer Institute, Inspiration Hospice, and the Cottonwood Heights 1st Ward for
the care and tenderness they gave to Ron and his family. Funeral services for
Ron will be held on Saturday June 18, 2005 at 11:00 AM, at the Holbrook
Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call on Friday evening from
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and again on Saturday morning form 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM prior
to the services. He will be laid to rest at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Condolences

Brown, Orval S.
Orval S. Brown 1922 ~ 2005 Orval S. Brown, 82, loving husband, father,
grandfather and great-grand-father passed away peacefully and surrounded by
his family on June 11, 2005. He was born on July 20, 1922 to Benjamin W. Brown
and Ruby J. Singleton in American Fork, Utah. He was educated in American Fork
and married his high school sweetheart, Rhea Bliss Holindrake on June 23, 1943
in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. During his high school years he was a member of
the FFA and enjoyed raising and showing his championship livestock at the
State Fairs and Ogden Livestock shows. During the summer, he worked on his
uncle's ranch in Nevada. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his
family. Some of his other interests include gardening and traveling. Orval
worked for Keith Jacob's Feed Mill in Manila for 23 years and then retired
after working at the Utah State Developmental Center for 13 years. Orval
served as the secretary/treasurer for the Elders Quorum in his ward and as a
High Priest. They have lived in American Fork since 1949. He is survived by
his wife, Rhea, and two daughters, Patricia (Dick) Terkelson of Ogden, Utah;
Dixie (Vern) Conder of Orem, Utah; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;
and sister Carma Millar, Pleasant Grove. Preceded in death by his parents,
sister, Barbara Carson and an infant grandson, Adam Vern Conder. Friends may
call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary at 49 E. 100 N. in American Fork, Sunday
evening, June 19, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, June 20, 2005 at the
American Fork 32nd Ward, American Fork East Stake LDS church at 270 N. 900 E.
one hour prior to the funeral services which will be held at 11 a.m.

Clark, Irma Knudson
Irma Knudson Clark 1921 ~ 2005 Irma Knudson Clark, our beloved mother, aunt,
and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2005, preceded in death by
her husband, Jeremiah H. Clark. Born June 19, 1921, Irma led a full and rich
life. She served two missions for the LDS Church (one in Norway, the other,
Guatemala), served in the military as a WAC in World War II, served as a
temple worker for many years, and worked tirelessly in the service of others.
Irma had a love of language and never stopped learning new things. She spoke
both Norwegian and Spanish, and studied French. Word games were her favorite,
particularly Scrabble--her Scrabble Dictionary was well-worn. She loved to
share highlights of a particularly good game, relating details as if it were
right there in front of her; she loved a good challenge. She is survived by
two sons, Jeremiah K and Philip K, and ten grandchildren, Christopher, Abby,
Jenny, Sarah, Melanie, Samuel, Cameron, Paul, Kimberly, and Zachary. Funeral
services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 11 a.m., at the Winder 2nd
Ward, 1361 E. 4000 S., Holladay. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m.,
Friday June 17, at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East in Salt Lake,
and 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at

Coleman, Ruth Rich
Ruth Rich Coleman 1931 - 2005 Life on earth has been a great experience for
me. Born to Thair C. Rich and Cloteel Budge May 24, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA.
My father was a career physician in the US Army Medical Corp so my formative
years were spent in many areas of the United States, Panama, and Europe. This
was a wonderful experience for my brother and me. In 1954 I graduated from
Catholic Univ. of America in Washington D.C. with a BSN. Returning to Salt
Lake, I met and married the perfect mate for me-the optimistic, fun loving
Jerry W. Coleman. Together, we raised Jeffrey, Janis and Karen. After the
children began school, I returned to work in the nursing field for 30 years,
retiring in 1998 from the Dept. of Dermatology at the Univ. of Utah. My life
has been fulfilling. A long and happy marriage, raising our children, the
experience of being a grandmother, the many trips with friends and relatives,
and most of all the happy times at our home at Bear Lake. Our wonderful,
caring daughters have always been there for me and the grandchildren have been
the shinning stars in my life. A special thank you to friends, relatives, care
givers at Care Source, Dr. Saundra Buys, and all who showed their love and
support to me and my family. I will miss my husband Jerry, daughters Janis
(Harper) Johnson, Karen (George) Pregman, brother Richard (Ann) Rich,
stepmother Margaret Rich, sister-in-laws Janet Coleman, Sandra (Kent)
Christensen, grandchildren Ashley, Trish, and Shane Johnson, Matthew and
Michael Pregman, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Preceded in death
by parents and son Jeffrey R. Coleman. In lieu of flowers, donations to the

Dudley, Eva Mary
Eva Mary Dudley 1921 ~ 2005 Eva Mary Dudley, our loving mother and
grandmother, returned to her Father in Heaven on June 12, 2005. She peacefully
passed away in her home surrounded by her family. Eva was born April 15, 1921
in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Joseph Olen Lee and Daisy Frances Anderson Lee.
She married Jesse L Dudley November 8, 1945 one week after his return from his
service in the Canadian army during World War II in Europe. They had five
daughters, Peggy, Barbara, Beverly, Patti and Darlene. Eva's love of the
Savior and His example of service was the focus and inspiration for her life.
She served in many teaching and leadership positions in Relief Society, Young
Women, Primary, Sunday School and PTA. She loved gardening, needlework,
reading, church service and baking cookies for her family. She and Jesse
raised their daughters in Los Angeles, California. They live in Porterville,
California for several years and retired in Kamas, Utah. Together they served
a mission in Australia. Eva will truly be missed by her daughters, Peggy
(Bill) Fuller, Bountiful, Utah; Barbara Minkoff, L.A. CA; Beverly (Rod)
Cantrell, Reedley, CA; Patti (Brent) Jeppesen, Tremonton, UT; Darlene (Jack)
Clegg, Kamas, UT; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grand-children. She was
preceded in death by her husband Jesse, her parents, Joe and Daisy Lee, her
brother Jack, her sisters Jeanne and Peggy, and her son-in-law, Bob Minkoff.
Services will be held Saturday June 18, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Stake
Center, Marion, UT with a viewing from 12 - 1p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, June
17.

Edward, Jay Rodney
Jay Rodney Edward 1934 - 2005 Jay Rodney Edwards, age 70, passed away June 14,
2005 at the Woodland Park Care Center. Born October 11, 1934, Hiawatha, Utah
to Carlyle L. and Isla Peacock Edwards. Married Gloria Christensen in the
Manti Temple. She passed away October 5, 1990. Member of the LDS Church. He
served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was highly skilled
in medical and radio technology. Member of the National Railway Historical
Society, serving in many positions. He worked for Railway Express as an
electrician, repairing passenger cars. He was the founder of Wasatch Railway
Museum and Foundation and served as its president for 30 years. He also served
on the Board of Directors of The Wasatch Mountain Railway (Heber Creeper). He
owned and operated Unitah Railway Products Co. and built railway products for
HO Gauge model railways and shipped parts all over the county. Funeral
services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005, 10:30 a.m. at the Wasatch 5th
Ward, 8100 S. Top of the World Drive (3700 E.) Friends may call the day of the
service at the church from 9:30-10:15. Interment Cleveland Cemetery,

Fakahua, Lupeni 'Ufi Paea I-Vaiola
Lupeni 'Ufi Paea I-Vaiola Fakahua 1954 - 2005 Lupeni returned to his Father in
Heaven on June 9, 2005. He was born December 28, 1954 in Nuku'alofa, Tonga to
Rev. Sione Alo Fakahua and Mrs. Eveline Latu Fakahua (nee Lokotui). He is
survived by his parents, Rev. Mele Koloa Fakahua-Ratcliffe (older sister) and
Valentina Fakahua-Vaotangi (younger sister) all of Sydney, Australia; and many
uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and friends. Preceded in death by his twin
brother, Siosifa Fakahua; grandfather, Rev. Siosifa Lokotui; and grandmother,
Seluvaia Hulutungua Lakai Lokotui. Thanks to all who touched his life. Lupeni
was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Riverside 2nd
Ward, Salt Lake City, Utah. We will miss you Lupeni. Rest in peace as you
await the resurrection and in God's hands, we commend you to His safe keeping

Clea Anderson Gardner Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother Clea Anderson
Gardner, 80, passed away June 14, 2005 at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. She
was born Aug. 18, 1924 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Morgan Lavar and Alva
Ellen Boyd Anderson. Married Robert Grant Gardner, March 3, 1950. Later
solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple April 7, 1955. She was an active member
of the LDS Church. Mom spent the last several years sewing newborn gowns,
blankets, doll dresses and toys for the LDS Humanitarian Center. She was
trained as a nurse at St. Marks Hospital and worked in the OR for several
years. Survived by: husband, R. Grant, Heber City; children, Brant A. and
Valerie Gardner, Kent R. and Diane Gardner, Debra and P. Kim Proctor, Gary D.
and Monica Gardner, Bruce W. and Sylvia Gardner; 19 grandchildren, six
great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Keith L. Anderson, Don L. and
Delores Anderson, Carol L. Reddy. Preceded in death by parents and sister, B.
LaVon Larsen. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 11:00
a.m. at the Heber 1st, 6th, 9th Ward Building, 325 East 500 North, where

Giles, William "Ed"
William "Ed" Giles 1938 ~ 2005 HANNA - William "Ed" Giles, age 66, passed away
Tuesday, June 14, 2005, in Provo, Utah, due to complications from an ATV
accident, with his loving family at his side. Ed was born December 12, 1938,
in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to Ferrus M. and Margaret Giles. On September 29,
1956, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Pilling in Salt Lake City,
Utah. Ed loved racing and raising horses. Farming, hunting, visiting with his
family and friends, and chasing a bull or two, were his favorite pastimes. He
is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carolyn; three children: Susan
Annette (Kelly) Powell, Wesley Todd (Jill Birkinshaw), Troy F. (Dorene
Stringham); five brothers: Thomas Max (Carole), Jerry Kent, James (Janet),
Alfred Lee (Kathy), Terry Lynn (Geri); two sisters: Beth (Arlys) Iorg, Sharon
(Ken) Bleak; 15 grandchildren and four great-grand-children. He is preceded in
death by his parents; two brothers: Francis and Joe; and grandparents. Funeral
services will be held Monday, June 20, 2005 - 12 noon, in the Tabiona LDS
Church. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral
Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, and on Monday from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m.

Grant, Perry C.
Perry Coy Grant 1977 ~ 2005 Perry C. Grant was born Nov. 4th, 1977 in Salt
Lake City, UT to parents Wayne and Kathy Grant. Perry tragically left us on
June 9th, 2005 in an airplane crash. Perry is the 2nd of seven children in his
family. Perry's interest in aviation was evident at a very early age. As a
child he built and flew model airplanes and pursued his career in aviation by
obtaining his Private, Commercial, Instrument, Multi-Engine and Instructor
certificates. Perry became a well-respected pilot and flight instructor. His
talents in aviation will resonate throughout the aviation industry for
generations to come. He logged nearly 4,000 hours of accident free flight time
in a variety of flight operations. Perry also found success in owning and
operating his own Heating and Air Company for the last seven years. More than
anything, Perry especially valued his children, family and close relationships
he had with many people. Perry, we already miss you deeply and look forward to
the day we are together again. Perry is survived by Jennifer Grant and three
children, Turbo, Lexie, Britain; Natalie Huntsman and future Jeppesen;
parents, Wayne and Kathy Grant; six brothers and sisters: Brady (Courtney),
Hilary (Sean), Chad (Katrina), Tyler, Ashley, Carter; grandparents: Coy
Puckett, Perry and Pat Grant, and Betty Grant; and numerous other family
members. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Gwen Puckett. A trust
fund for his children has been established at Wells Fargo Bank. Donations can
be made at any branch in Perry's name, in care of Courtney Grant. Funeral
services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 11 a.m. at the Davis
Conference Center, 1651 North 700 West, Layton, Utah. Friends may call from

Griggs, Ronald Maynard
Ronald Maynard Griggs 1928 ~ 2005 Ronald Maynard Griggs, 77, passed away June
13, 2005, in Orem, Utah, after a short illness. He was born June 8, 1928, in
Eureka, Utah, and was the only son of Maynard E. and Thelma Potts Griggs. He
was raised in Eureka, and graduated from Tintic High School in 1945. He
married Jackie Laine Porter Jackson on May 2, 1968, and she preceded him in
death. He married Emma Sargent on May 7, 1988. Ron had a love for music all
his life. He played trumpet in many jazz bands in high school and college, and
one of the highlights of his life was playing with Les Brown and his Band of
Renown, and Doris Day in Salt Lake City. Ron received teaching and music
degrees from BYU. He taught band at Goshen High for a short time and then
moved to Tintic High School where he taught until his retirement in 1987. He
received many awards for his outstanding teaching accomplishments. He was
named teacher of the year for the State of Utah in 1975-76 and also received
outstanding Rural School Secondary Teacher award in 1984. Ron loved his
teaching career and loved all of his students. His best memories were his
students and the experiences they had with the marching bands. His marching
bands were very popular and successful and received many awards, including a
proclamation from Governor Calvin Rampton and recognition from President
Ronald Reagan. His students loved and revered him as he helped them to succeed
in many areas of their lives. Ron was called to be bishop of the Eureka Ward
in 198l. As a bishop, Ron showed love and compassion to all members of the
community regardless of their denomination. Ron was active with AA and helped
many people in recovery. Ron was a loving and caring son and husband. He
patiently cared for his mother in her later years and his first wife, Jackie,
until her death. Ron was a much loved step-father and grandfather to Emma's
family. He was fun and caring and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife Emma, his five step-children and their spouses,
Byron Sargent (Lynda), Francene Sargent Wood (Carl), Susan Sargent Gibbs,
Robyn Sargent, and Lisa Sargent Peterson (Jamie), 14 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren, and cousins Richard and Diane Bauer, David and Janet
Bauer, and Don and Diane Peterson. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
June 18, at 11:00 a.m., in the Orem Northridge 13th Ward Chapel, 1660 North
200 West, Orem, Utah. There will be a viewing at the chapel on Friday, June
17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will
be in the Eureka, Utah cemetery. Condolences may be sent to

Hortin, Hal C.
Hal C. Hortin 12/21/1918~6/13/2005 COALVILLE - Hal Carlisle Hortin, age 86,
passed away on June 13, 2005 surrounded by his family. He was born on December
21, 1918 to Carl and Cordelia Hortin in Oakley Utah. He graduated from South
Summit High School and attended BYU. He was drafted into the Army in 1942 and
served in the 11th Armored Division until the end of World War II. He married
Barbara Wilson and they became the proud parents of five children. Hal was
very devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was always
helping his children and mother-in-law with anything they needed him to do.
Hal loved playing cards, puttering around his garage and yard and following
his grandkids around the block on their toy cars. He loved watching sports,
especially the Jazz and BYU. Hal has always been a hard worker and held many
jobs, including cutting timber and working in the silver mines in Park City.
He worked at Ideal Basic Industries at Devils Slide for over 30 years. He is
survived by his wife, Barbara and his children: Sylvia (Fred) Mortensen; Scott
(Lorale) Hortin; Lisa (Darby) McLean and Jeff Hortin. He has 14 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Roberta Fraizer,
Wynona Smith and brother William (Bud) Hortin. Hal was preceded in death by
his parents, son Stan Hortin; granddaughter, Tobie Mortensen;
great-granddaughter, Madison Wagstaff and mother-in-law, Amy Shaw. Funeral
services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 1 P.M. at the Hoytsville
Church. Friends and family may call at Walker Mortuary in Coalville Friday,

Huish, Annette Farnsworth
Annette Farnsworth Huish 1959 ~ 2005 Annette Farnsworth Huish, 45, passed away
on June 13, 2005. Annette was born on December 16, 1959 in Sierra Vista,
Arizona to Marion B. and Doris Harmon Farnsworth of Mesa, Arizona. Annette
graduated from Gilbert High School in Gilbert, Arizona. She served a full-time
mission (1981-1982) for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the
Uruguay, Montevideo Mission. She and her husband, Scott Andersen Huish, were
married on August 25, 1983 in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. Annette was a
dedicated and loving wife and mother. Throughout her life she was an active
and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
serving in various capacities of service and charity. She is survived by her
husband, children Scott Andersen Huish, Jr. (age 20 and serving in the
Cambodia Phnom Penh Mission), Shelina Maria Huish (age 17) and Brett
Farnsworth Huish (age 15). She is also survived by her parents and siblings
Dale (Sandra), Blaine (Cindy), David (Tammy), Marvin (Debbie), Roy (Sandy) and
Shirley (Raymond) Black. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the West Jordan East Stake Center, 1899 West 7600
South in West Jordan. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday,
June 17 at the church and one hour prior to services on Saturday, where
friends and family may call. Interment will follow at West Jordan City

was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Cecil Reed and Martha Douglas Sorenson on
September 3, 1935. Attended East High, U of U. Member of Delta Gamma Sorority.
Graduate of San Diego State University in Elementary Education. Taught in San
Diego, Granite and Salt Lake City schools. Over the past years served as a
substitute teacher for Granite School District. Married Allen Severn Jones on
August 23, 1957. Later divorced. Survived by her children: Liz Thorne (Dr.
David) of Spokane, WA; Stephanie Elmer (Joseph) of Flower Mound, TX; Judy
Hancock (Vaughan) of Flower Mound, TX; Will Jones (Lisa) of San Diego, CA;
Katherine Jewell (Dr. Ben) of Napa, CA; plus 10 grandchildren. Also survived
by her sisters: Marilyn Miller (Bill) and Ruth Ward. Graveside services will

daughters, Marshelle and Misty. He is preceded in death by both of his

King, R. Kent
R. Kent King 1926 ~ 2005 MIDVALE - Our loving husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, brother and dear friend, Reed Kent King, 79, of Midvale,
UT, passed away unexpectedly from an aortic aneurysm on Sunday, June 12, 2005
at LDS Hospital. Kent was born on February 27, 1926 at Idaho Falls, ID, the
son of Mazle Q. King and Lettie Rose Andrus King. He married Wanda Birch in
the Salt Lake Temple on May 24, 1949. Kent was raised in Idaho and Utah,
graduating from Jordan High School in 1944. After graduation, he enlisted and
served in the US Navy as a Gunner's Mate in the Pacific War Zone (1944-46).
After an honorable discharge, he served an LDS mission in the East Central
States Mission (1947-49). Following his marriage, Kent attended and graduated
from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration. He was a skilled and
dedicated teacher and educator throughout his entire life. He worked for 35
years in the Jordan School District, first as a teacher and later as a
principal at the following elementary schools: Midvale, South Jordan, Sandy,
Peruvian Park, Edgemont, Westland, and Granite. Kent held many positions of
responsibility within the LDS Church including YM Presidency, Bishop of the
East Midvale 1st Ward, Counselor in the Midvale Stake Presidency, President of
the Midvale East Stake, Regional Welfare Agent, and most recently as a High
Councilman. Kent served two additional missions with his wife, one in the
California San Jose Mission and another in Midvale East Stake. They also
served as ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple. Kent was highly
involved in the community and with volunteer work. He served 12 years on the
Midvale City Council and on Boards of the SL Suburban Sanitary Dist. #2 and
the Trans-Jordan Landfill. He volunteered at the Midvale Senior Center where
he taught computer classes. He was also an avid Scouter and served on many
boards of review and scout committees. He received the prestigious Silver
Beaver Award in honor of his service. Kent's greatest love was his family. He
enjoyed photography, reading, gardening, golfing, and "walking in the mall"
with Wanda. Kent was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson,
Dylan Kent Egbert. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda; children:
Lynette (Craig) Allen of Gilbert, IA; David (DeAnn) of Vancouver, WA; Joanne
(Judy Juhala) of Brazil, IN; Kathryn (Joseph) Milkanin of Riverton, UT; and
Steven (Maria) of Oakland, MI; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grand-children;
brother, Lewis (DonaMae) of Lehi, UT; sister, Renee (Gary) Harris of Sandy,
UT; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held
Friday, June 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Midvale East Stake Center, 240 E. 7570
So., Midvale. Friends and family may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary,
8090 So. State St., Midvale, and at the church on the day of the funeral from
9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral at Redwood Memorial Estates

Linton, Kennedy
Kennedy Linton 2003 ~ 2005 Kennedy Linton, age 20 months, the beautiful and
loved daughter of Ryan Scott and Laura Linton, passed away in her parents arms
Tuesday, June 14, 2005 from brain cancer. She was born September 26, 2003 in
American Fork, Utah. Kennedy was our amazing little spirit. She loved
everything about life! Her spunky personality was with her since the day she
was born and she made an impact on everyone that she met. She made friends
everywhere by walking up to anyone, whether person or animal, pointing to
something and trying to carry on a conversation in her own little language.
She loved animals, always wanting to see the cats at "pa's" house and her many
trips to the zoo. Watching her the last 7 1/2 months of fighting her cancer
she was amazingly strong and taught us so much about life. She was the center
of our world and the joy she brought us will continue on to the next life. The
love we have for her is infinite and we can't wait til we can be with our
little angel again. Kennedy is survived by her parents, Ryan Scott Linton and
Laura Dickey Linton; grandparents, Dr. Dale Linton and Stephanie Linton; Dr.
Glenn Dickey and Valerie Dickey, and all the great-grandparents, uncles, aunts
and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00
a.m. at the Foothill Ward Chapel, 4275 South Bountiful Blvd., Bountiful, Utah.

Needs, Thomas J.
Thomas J. Needs 10/11/45 ~ 06/10/05 PRICE- Thomas John Needs, age 59, passed
away June 12, 2004 quietly in his sleep. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on
October 11, 1945. Tom was greatly loved by all who knew him. He lived for many
years in Salt Lake City and moved to Price, Utah in 1988 which he made his
home for the past 17 years. Tom worked happily and successfully as an engineer
in both Ohio and Utah. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many activities,
including camping, hiking, and four-wheeling. He enjoyed reading and writing
poetry. He was also considered a great philosopher and a wonderful father and
grandfather by his family. Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife Karen
and survived by his four children: Thomas J. Needs Jr. (Annie), Christopher M.
Needs, Heather N. Miller (Kevin), Adam J. Needs and four grandchildren. Tom is
also survived by his sister Susan Marconi (Edward) and brothers Walter Needs
and Michael Needs. Services to be held in Salt Lake City at Wasatch Lawn
Memorial Park on Friday, June 17 at 12:00 Noon.

Nielson, LeRoy
LeRoy Nielson 1918 ~ 2005 Our beloved Father and Grandfather, LeRoy Nielson,
age 87, passed away on June 8, 2005. Born March 24, 1918 in Cedar View, Utah.
He was the son of Niels Nielson and Ella Gilbert. He married his sweetheart,
Elizabeth Lazenby on July 16, 1942. She preceded him in death on November 7,
2004. He served in the US Army during World War II and in the National Guard
during the Korean Conflict. After the war he and Elizabeth settled in Midvale,
Utah to raise their five children. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, LeRoy influenced the lives of many people through his
services as Scoutmaster in his ward at two National Boy Scout Jamborees. He
also served in other capacities in the scouting program. He was a recipient of
the Silver Beaver award and the forty-five year Boy Scout Veteran award from
the Great Salt Lake Council. He served as President of the Uintah Basin
Reunion. LeRoy quietly taught others through his example. He will be
remembered fondly of frequently telling others "It's a good life!" He enjoyed
life, whether it was playing horseshoes, working, or helping others. He was a
devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who will be dearly missed. He is
survived by his five children: Edith (Ross) Brown, Elva (Jerry) Jackson, Cliff
(Sallie) Nielson, Maxine (Douglas) Pearce, and Shirley (Thomas) Labonte.

Olson, Lola Mae Terry
Lola Mae Terry Olson 1934 ~ 2005 On June 13, 2005, Heavenly Father welcomed
home one of the most precious gifts he gave to us. Our wife, mother, grandma,
sister and friend, Lola Mae Terry Olson, passed away peacefully into Heavenly
Father's arms in Cedar City, Utah. She was born on March 24, 1934, the fourth
child of eight, to Allen and Laura Day Terry, in Draper, Utah. She married her
high school sweetheart, Jay W. Olson, on May 28, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple
for time and all eternity. In her 71 years on earth, she brought joy,
happiness and love to the lives of so many people, even those that were
helping her in her last hours grew to love her and felt the love she had for
her family radiate from within her. She served her Heavenly Father most
valiantly in so many callings throughout her life, in Relief Society, Primary,
Mutual, and as a faithful visiting teacher. She also served for eight years as
a Family History Specialist at the Utah State Prison with her husband, and she
felt so privileged to serve the inmates and grew to love and respect them, as
they did her. She always told us she felt so safe there. Her most rewarding
calling was that of a wife, mother and grandmother. We have all been blessed
to have had her example in our lives. She lived her life for her grandchildren
and they adored her in every way. We will miss everything about her. She has
taught us so much through her example, the unconditional love and respect she
had for anyone that she met. We are so blessed to be left with the memories we
have. We look forward to the day our family will be reunited again. We are
grateful for the eternal plan. Thank you so much for keeping us together,
teaching us and loving us, and preparing the way for us. Survived by her
beloved husband of 53 years, Jay W. Olson; children, Vickie, Cindy (Dean)
Capson, Tracey, Todd (Shontell) Olson, and Leslie; 12 grandchildren, Aubrey,
Brayden, Kiley and Camri Capson, Justin and Brandon Wilson, McCord Olson,

Rose Ann P. Perrick 1919 ~ 2005 MIDVALE - Our loving wife, mother, and
grandmother, Rose Ann Percich Perrick, 86, died June 15, 2005 in Sandy, Utah.
Born Jan. 27, 1919 to Joseph and Margaret Rapar Percich in Midvale, Utah.
Married George J. Perrick in Midvale at St. Therese Catholic Church on June
19, 1938. George died Jan. 12, 2003. Besides being a member of St. Therese
Catholic Church, she was a member of W.S.A. Lodge No. 4. Graduated from Jordan
High School Class of "35." A devoted housewife, she loved her family and
grandchildren. Her greatest happiness was serving and caring for them first,
above all. Survived by son James Duane (Janet), Sandy; two grandchildren,
Feller and Jeff; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Rosie; sister, Margaret
Johnson, Midvale; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by
one brother and two sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Saturday, June 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox,
Midvale, where Holy Rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m., with a viewing

Pamela Kaye Evans Peterson 1945 ~ 2005 Pamela Kaye Evans Peterson, Ed.D, age
60, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away June 12, 2005 in
Springfield, Illinois following a battle with cancer. She was born on March
30, 1945 in Murray, Utah to Elvis Henry Evans and June Larsen Evans. She was
married to Gary Bruce Peterson on June 11, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple,
with whom she was married for 41 years. She is survived by her husband, Gary;
children, Scott, Kimberly Bessey (Eric), Austin (Julie), and Heather Doyle
(Dwight); seven grandchildren; sisters, Genielle Evans Orgill (Ivan), Sharon
Evans Washburn; brothers, Boyd, Craig (Frankie), and Chad (Karen); and 12
foster brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvis
and June; mother-in-law, Elva Cowley Peterson; and brother-in-law, James
Washburn. She was very active in the LDS Church serving as scribe for the
Sioux Falls, SD Stake Patriarch, Sioux Falls, SD Stake Relief Society
President, temple worker in the Omaha, Nebraska Winter Quarters Temple, Stake
Young Women's Presidency, and numerous other callings in Relief Society and
Primary organizations of the church. She was active in the Cub Scout program
and served as Den Leader Coach for Brookings, SD Pack 24. She received her BS
in Arts and Science with High Honor, MS in Industrial Management at South
Dakota State University, Brookings, SD; and Ed.D in Educational Administration
Adult and Higher Education at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD;
and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society; and received numerous
scholarships and awards. She served as Associate Registrar at SDSU for four
years and was currently Registrar and Director of Student Information Systems
at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Pamela was an accomplished
pianist and had a great love of music. She taught many students piano lessons
in Brookings, SD. She was an avid reader. She most loved doing things with her
grandchildren including shopping trips. She was admired for her optimism and
accomplishments. There will be a viewing from 11-1:30 prior to the funeral
service held on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Granite Ward Chapel, 9575 South
3100 East, Sandy, Utah at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Granite Cemetery
following the services. A memorial scholarship has been established at the

Patricia Lois Peterson 1930 ~ 2005 Patricia Lois Peterson, age 74, passed away
June 14, 2005. Born September 26, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, daughter of William
and Ordell Leona Liggett Melvin. She later moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where
she met and married Earl Lamont Peterson January 1, 1946; later sealed in the
Los Angeles Temple. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. We will miss her greatly. Survived by son, Earl Lamont
(Susan) Peterson, Yoder, Wyoming; daughter, Becky Rankin, West Jordan, eight
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchil dren. Preceded in death by parents; husband;
daughter, Cindy Bechtholdt. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17,
2005, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a

Peterson, Ray Lars
Ray Lars Peterson 1915 ~ 2005 HEBER CITY, UTAH- Our beloved husband, father &
grandpa, at the age of 90, left his earthly body to return to his Heavenly
Father and loved ones who had gone before him. He was born February 15, 1915,
in Richfield, Utah, to Christian Lars and Isabelle Muir Peterson. He married
Reva Avelda West on December 11, 1936, in South Gate, California, and later
sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. She preceded him in death in January
1978. He later married Theda Vernice Kunz Gjerdman on June 22, 1979, in Heber
City, Utah, and later sealed in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Ray served as a
Bishop in the LDS Church, and held many other callings throughout his life,
devoting his entire life to serving his Heavenly Father. He lived his life as
a true example of a loving and caring Samaritan. His word was his honor. He
served those around him with sincere love and compassion. He was a devoted
husband, father, grandpa and friend, and will be missed by all. He set an
example that will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Theda; two
sons: Gerald (Teddy), Vernon (Carolyn); daughters-in-law: Lorna Peterson,
Marsha Moulton; three stepchildren: Lareta Prohaska, Coreen Weeks, Sheryl
(Nolan) Jones; 27 grandchildren, 67 great-grand children and two
great-great-grandchil dren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Reva;
both parents; two sons: Harold and Irving Lars; stepson, Neal Moulton;
son-in-law, Ray Weeks; four brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers a
trust fund has been set up at Zion's Bank and contributions can be made in Ray
Peterson's name. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005 - 10:00
am., in the Heber LDS North Stake Center, 550 East 500 North, Heber City.
Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the LDS Church and on
Saturday from 9:00 -9:45 A.M. prior to the services also at the LDS Church.
Following these services on Saturday a visitation will be held Magelby & Sons
Mortuary, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, Utah, from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. Graveside
services will begin at approximately 4:30 P.M. in the Richfield City Cemetery.

Reeves, John Patrick
John Patrick Reeves "Pat" Pat passed away June 13, 2005, three days after
celebrating his 80th birthday. He was born June 10, 1925 in Salt Lake City to
John Patrick Reeves and Katherine Higham Fisher Reeves. He graduated from
Judge Memorial High School in 1943, and attended the University of Portland
and graduated from the University of Utah. He served with the U.S. Marine
Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked in his own business
as a Manufacturers Agent and Corrosion Engineer until his retirement. Pat
married Mary O'Brien on April 27, 1957. She survives him along with their five
children: Dennis, Salt Lake City; Tom (Jules), Toronto, Canada; Jim (Sue),
Simi Valley CA; Kathy (Mike) Bracco, Oakland, CA; Mary Frances (Robert) Jones,
San Diego, CA. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, his sister
Katherine (Jim) Lords, Salt Lake City, and his cousin Leonard (Patty) Reeves,
Latrobe, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Otto Fisher,
and his sister, Mary Pauline Reeves Stringer Fleming. One of Pat's fondest
memories was the annual summer vacation with the children, usually to the
California beaches. He loved being a grandpa - the nine grandchildren brought
much joy and enthusiasm into his life. He enjoyed playing bridge and golf. He
had many happy rounds of golf with the "barracudas", his golfing buddies from
the Hidden Valley Country Club. Visitation with the family will be held
Thursday, June 16th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East, from
6:00- 7:30 p.m., followed by the Holy Rosary at 7:30. A funeral Mass will be
celebrated on Friday, June 17th at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Ambrose. Funeral
Directors, Neil O'Donnell and Sons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to J.E. Cosgriff School, 2335 Redondo Ave., Salt Lake City, UT, 84108, or a
charity of your choice.

Rodrigues, Rosabell Jaramillo
Rosabell Jaramillo Rodrigues "Nana" Our nana, mother, grandma and best friend,
Rosabell Jaramillo Rodrigues, left this world Thursday, June 9, 2005 due to
complications of a stroke. She was born February 29, 1916, to Jose Albino and
Euphemia Herrera in La Madera, New Mexico. Our beloved Rosabell has gone home
to God. She is at peace with the Lord. She lived a good life and spent most of
it in the service of others. She loved to help others and feel needed. No job
too big, no chore too small. She loved all things and took great pride in
everything she did. Her greatest achievement was her family of four children,
Bill (Teresa), Alice (Israel), Eufemia (Ron), Joe (deceased); nine
grandchildren and 18 great-grand-children. As a single mother of four, she
worked for many years in a bakery to support herself and her family, always
putting the needs of others before her own. She was an incredibly strong woman
with a great will to survive, struggling with the loss of her teenage son and
raising a daughter with polio. She, herself, overcame many illnesses such as
Rheumatic Fever, a brain tumor, Spinal Meningitis, Osteoporosis, Alzheimer's
and multiple seizures and strokes before finally deciding to take the journey
home to live eternally with God. Through all her struggles she maintained her
smile and charm, bearing her cross with honor and touching the hearts of all
who were blessed with her presence. We will miss you everyday and will live
our lives forever in your honor. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June
18, 2005, 11 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where
family and friends may visit Friday, June 17, 2005, 5-8 p.m. and Saturday,
10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Thank you, Rosabell, for your
love and guidance. We wait for the day we will see you again. A special thanks
to the staff at Highland Care Center for their empathy, support and for
helping our Nana on her long journey home.

Rogers, Louise Moser
Louise Moser Rogers 1916 ~ 2005 If you are reading this, I have gone on a long
journey. My eyes closed forever on March 29, 2005. I was born to Ralph and
Agnes Moser on May 31, 1916 in Morristown, New Jersey. I was married to Julian
A. Rogers on March 29, 1935 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. We had 44 years together
until his death on September 7, 1979. Our greatest accomplishments were
bringing into this world, two kind and loving sons, Donald and Edward and a
beautiful daughter, Julianne, who brought joy and love. My life has been
shared with a caring son-in-law and daughter-in-laws that were like my own
children. I was blessed with seven grandchildren, twenty two great
grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. In these last years I had a
dear friend and companion in Ralph Delliskave. We spent many happy hours
together. To all my family, Honor and Respect one another and give thanks for
all of your Blessings. I was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Graveside services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E.
10600 S., Sandy, UT on Saturday, June 18, at 2 p.m. Services will be conducted
by Rev. Lincoln Ure.

Smith, Lorraine
Lorraine Smith Grandma Choo Choo Lorraine unexpectedly passed from this life
to the next on June 13, 2005. Throughout the days preceding her death, she was
surrounded by her family where they listened intently to her stories for the
last time and reminisced about her incredible life. They talked about her
birth on November 11, 1918 to Beryl and Jack Wiseman in Salt Lake City.
Lorraine loved that her name was unique as she was named after Lorraine
France, the place where the declarations were signed ending World War I. She
told us again of her childhood, of growing up in the greenhouse and of her
love for flowers. Much like a flower Mom blossomed into a strong willed,
witty, caring and intelligent beauty with each facet of her personality a
brightly colored petal. They listened with tears of joy in their eyes as
Lorraine retold the tail of her courtship with the love of her life, Harold O.
Smith. She recounts their marriage on March 31, 1938 as the best day of her
life, the second being the day they were solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple
for time and all eternity. Together mom and dad made a home and raised four
children. Mom did anything and everything for her children and taught us that
family always come first. She reminded us to continue our schooling, as mom
was always a strong advocate for education. Lorraine prided herself on her
most important calling of wife and homemaker, especially when Harold was
working on the Western Pacific Railroad. She always had a clean home, a hot
meal on the table and mom never forgot to make desert. We laughed and cried
over our memories of our sacred family get-togethers, the "out of tune"
caroling, the home made Easter baskets and our cherished fourth of Julys spent
in Montana Lorraine had numerous callings in life but her work for God was of
top priority. She told us her favorites included Relief Society President,
Church Welfare/Social Worker and Church Greeter which helped her more than
anything to over come her introverted nature. Last but not least was her
calling to lead the Special Interest Group. We're confident they know how
dedicated she was to them. She wanted them to know how much she loved and
cherished them. Lorraine is survived by her children Joyce, Harold (Jonelle),
Jackie (Jerry) Sosriowski, Lorrie Ryther, 16 grandchildren, 23
great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. She was
preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lois, and her eternal companion.
Lorraine was very independent and her greatest fear was losing this
independence and dieing alone. We are honored and grateful to say that as she
passed we held her hands in comfort with tears streaming down our faces. We
sang to her "I am a Child of God", and retold her these favorite memories we
just told you. Special thanks to University of Utah Hospital doctors and staff
and especially Dr. Sanyer. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 2005
at 11 a.m. at Cottonwood 1st Ward, 5913 South Highland Drive. Friends and
family may call Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670
Highland Drive and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to
services.

Soong, Mary Ann Mele Wong
Mary Ann Mele Wong Soong 1910 ~ 2005 Mary Ann Mele Wong Soong, age 94 of
Mapleton, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005. She was born November 23, 1910 in
Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii to Wong Chung and Mary Kananimauloa Kelekoma. She
married Ki On Soong April 8, 1933 in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii. Mary retired form
the Hawaii Office of Workmen's Compensation. She served a mission with her
husband for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hong Kong from
April 1966 - October 1968. As the librarian at Coco Palm Resort Hotel, Mary
wrote "The Legend of Puukaninui, The Polokanui of Coco Palm." The story was
the inspiration for the popular Hawaiian song "Kamalani". While living in
Sandy, Utah she served as a volunteer worker at the Jordan River Temple. Mary
is survived by two sisters: Sarah K. Sheldon of Anahola, HI and Elsie W. Bruce
of Pacifica, CA. She is also survived by three children: Melvin K. Soong
(Barbara Nelson) of Kailua, HI; Clarence L. Soong (Mary Komaru) of Manassas,
VA; Momilani S. Kau (Julian) of Mapleton, UT; seven grandchildren, 16
great-grand-children and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be
held Monday, June 27, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Kapaa Chapel of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii. There will be a
viewing held at the chapel from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the services.
Burial will take place in the Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, Kauai, Hawaii.

Stark Jr., Clyde Ross
Clyde Ross Stark, Jr. "Grandpa" With wife and children at his bedside, Clyde
Ross Stark, Jr. died on June 12, 2005, at age 82. He was born on February 5,
1923 in Salt Lake City, the fourth child of Clyde Ross Stark, Sr. and Erma
Dunn. Married to Lorraine Monson, at a small ceremony in Salt Lake City,
October 30, 1943. It was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Clyde went
on to be a manufacturer representative in the furniture industry for a number
of years. He enjoyed helping others, he was the neighborhood handyman. If his
toolbox was not out, he was found on a golf course or enjoying time with his
loving family. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, three children: Ross
(Becky) Stark; Richard (Cheryl) Stark; and Kris Cluff; 12 grandchildren, and
seven great-grandchildren; brother, Verl; two sisters, Fay (Ray) Pack and
Dorothy Peterson. Funeral services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950
East 10600 South, Friday, June 17, 2005 at 12 noon, and a viewing for friends
and family from 10:45-11:45, prior to the services. Interment at Larkin Sunset
Gardens Cemetery.

Ronald DeWitt Turner 1932~2005 SALINA_Ronald DeWitt Turner, 72, Passed away at
the home of a daughter surrounded by his wife and loving family on June 11,
2005. He was born September 11, 1932 in Denver Colorado to DeWitt A. and
Margaret Vohn Loudermilk Turner. He married Molly Maberry, later divorced. He
married Beverly Ewles, March 21, 1955 in Salina, Utah. marriage solemnized in
the Los Angeles Temple, Jan. 17, 1962. She died March 20, 1971. He married
Lola Irene Ehn November 16, 1972 in Manti Temple. Solemnized in Manti, Utah;
solemnized in the Manti Temple November 18, 1972. Member of the LDS, Church,
Member of Salina Lions Club where he served as president and was state Lions
secretary. Retired from U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife Irene,
Mesquite, NV. Children,. Marjorie Turner. Salina; Merri Lynn (Perry) Sorensen,
Centerfield; Michael (Naomi) Turner, Richfield; Earlene (Larry) Frech,

Webster, Verl G.
Verl G. Webster 1909 ~ 2005 Verl George Webster, 96, our loved and respected
father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away June 14, 2005. He was
born May 6, 1909 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Lewis Phillip and Mary Jane Jones
Webster. He married Vivian Nevada Andrus in Logan, Utah on September 3, 1933.
Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Vivian preceded
Verl in death. Verl loved raising horses and other farm animals. He worked at
Safeway Stores as a meat cutter for 30 years. He was an active member of the
LDS Church. Survivors: children, Dennis V. (DeAnna), Michael G. (Carol), Karen
S. Krebs (George), Brenda Kay Welch (Dell), Christine Ann Farnsworth (Lynn);
he is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; in addition he
is survived by sisters, Lizzie Beckstead and Mable Handley. Preceded in death
by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June
18, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State where friends may

Eliza Fern Williams 1913-2005 Eliza Fern Williams, age 91, passed away on June
12, 2005 in Champaign, Illinois. She was born on June 20, 1913 in Salt Lake
City to Anna Marie and Charles F. Tanner. She attended local Salt Lake City
schools. Married Marcus Williams on August 14, 1941 in Salt Lake City. She
enjoyed gardening and needlework. Survived by her daughter Anne Lytle, two
grandchildren, and five living great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her
husband Marcus Williams and one great granddaughter. Graveside services will
be Thursday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland

Wohler, Huibert
Huibert Wohler "Together Again" Huibert Wohler, 94, passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, June 14, 2005. Born February 16, 1911, at Rotterdam, Netherlands. He
was a graduate of the Rotterdam Academy of Music and was a performing musician
in Holland. He immigrated to America in 1954 with his wife, Elizabeth, and
son, Eddy. Teaching piano to many students over many years was his passion and
joy. He always insisted on excellence and practice. He was a devoted member of
the LDS Church and played often at church functions. Survived by son, Ed;
nephews Leo and John Wohler; and niece, Mary Larsen. Preceded in death by his
wife, and by a daughter, Wilma. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Friday,
June 17, 2005, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South. SereniCare,

Woodard, George T.
George T. Woodard 1923 ~ 2005 George T. Woodard passed away June 9, 2005 in
Murray, UT. Born December 19, 1923 in Panguitch, UT to Deward and Blanche
Heywood Woodard. Married Shirley Luke, later divorced. Married Betty Elton,
she passed away Dec. 29, 2001. Served in the US Navy 1943-1946 aboard the USS
General George O. Squire, a personnel transport ship. Moved to Murray in 1959.
Worked for Hi-Land Dairy retiring in 1985. Shortly after went to work for
Winder Dairy until 2003. George was a very hard worker and great provider. He
enjoyed pinenuttin', golfing, bowling and spending time with his family.
Everyone that knew him loved him. Survived by former wife Shirley, children:
Robert "Curt" (Vicki) Cuff, Thomas L. (Beverly) Woodard, Tamra (Brent)
Pollard, Brooke (Ronda) Woodard, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren;
sisters: Kathryn (John) Howa, Beth Whitney, Diane Cadol, Gretha (Warren) Eyre,
Sybil (Jim) Taylor. Preceded in death by several brothers and sisters,
including his close brother Paul. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June
18, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 So. State Street. Viewing
Friday, June 17, from 6-8 p.m. and one hr. prior to the service on Saturday.
Interment Murray City Cemetery. "Dad, we love you dearly. You will always hold
a special place in our hearts. Thanks for all you did for us."
