Argyle, Lucille Smith
Lucille Smith Argyle "Mom" 1923 ~ 2005 WOODS CROSS- Our beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucille Smith Argyle passed away June 16,
2005 surrounded by her family after a five year battle with Alzheimer's. She
was born August 18, 1923 in Clearfield, Utah to Blenco and Martha Smith. She
was the youngest of three children. Unfortunately her father died when she was
only four years old. She fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Ralph
T. Argyle, and they were married June 17th, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple
for time and all eternity. They became the proud parents of five children:
Brent (Judy), Dennis, Jerry (Janice), Shiree (John), and Joan. Lucille is
survived by her husband, Ralph; five children; one sister (Marie); 25
grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
mother, father, brother (Vern), and daughter-in-law, Michelle. Mom was a
lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and
served faithfully in many organizations. She was also an active member of the
Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Mom was a great wife and mother, she touched
many lives and will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her. We love
you Mom. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at
the Woods Cross Utah North Stake Center, 1509 West 1500 South, Woods Cross,
Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the
Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Monday morning from
9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City

Berry, Ethella Olson
Ethella Olson Berry 1919 ~ 2005 Ethella Olson Berry, 86, died Tuesday at 11:16
p.m. in her home in Salt Lake City after a brief illness. Born March 6th,
1919, in Vernon UT, she was a daughter of Carl Arvil and Altania Ann Allred
Olson and was raised and educated in Provo, Utah. Following her marriage to
Robert Berry in February 1942 she lived in California, Florida, Salt Lake
City, Illinois, and Colorado. She had been a resident of Cupertino, CA for
over 20 years before returning to Salt Lake City 14 years ago. She was active
in community and religious organizations and served as a LDS Church Service
Missionary for many years. She unselfishly gave to others all her life and
touched the hearts of many. Survivors include four brothers: Jay, Ted, Ike and
Stan Olson, a son, RJ (Jane Seward) Berry of Atlanta, GA; two daughters:
Kristin (Tim) Duffy of SLC; and Becky (Chris) Matthews of Denver, CO; and 12
grandchildren. Viewing on Sunday June 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary
260 E South Temple. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. on Monday June 20th at
the Emigration 27th E Ward, 185 "P" Street, Salt Lake City. Friends may call

Bitner, Erma "Joan"
Erma "Joan" Bitner 1933 ~ 2005 Erma "Joan" Bitner, age 72, passed away
peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 15, 2005. Joan was a loving wife,
mother, sister and grandmother who will be missed more than words can express
by all those who knew her. Joan was born February 7, 1933 to John V. and Erma
P. Bollwinkel. She married Keith Olson Bitner August 26, 1952 in the Salt Lake
Temple. Joan loved to latch-hook and she always displayed them on the walls
throughout her house. Joan loved collecting dolls and she always tried finding
those that looked like someone she knew. Joan is survived by her three
children, Joy Becky (Ray), Kerry (Bethany), Paul (Erin); eight grandchildren,
Matthew, Meghan, Kayla, Kyle, Steven, Alexis, Ryan and Rachael; brothers, John
J. "Jack" (Kay), James W. (Linda), Jeffrey L. (Joane); sister, Judy Badura
(Walter). Preceded in death by husband, Keith Olson Bitner; parents, John V.
and Erma P. Bollwinkel. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 20, 2005 at
Grant Stake Ward House, 3153 South 900 East, at 12 noon. Friends and Family
may call Sunday, from 5-7 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (3401 South
Highland Drive) or one hour prior to the service at the Grant Stake Ward

Black, Ron
Ron Black 1958~2005 Ronald Lee Black, age 47, passed away on June 14, 2005, in
his sister Linda's arms after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in
Columbus, Ohio, May 1, 1958 and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Salt
Lake City, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army as a crew chief on a MedEvac
helicopter. Ron owned several of his own businesses in Salt Lake City, worked
as a caretaker on a ranch in Soldotna, Alaska, and fished commercially. He
owned a 36 foot Tri-marand sailboat he planned to sail in Prince William
Sound. After diagnosed with cancer, Ron returned to Salt Lake City where he
worked as a manager for American Lenders until his death. Ron's strength,
stamina, courage, positive attitude, humor, and smile have inspired all who
know him. He taught so many of us by his example and made our lives richer by
his willingness to share his time, personality, and knowledge. Thank you, Ron,
for being our son, our brother, our father, our grandfather, our
father-in-law, our uncle, our nephew, our cousin, our friend. We love you! You
will be missed immensely! He is survived by his parents, Reed and Peggy Black
of Mesa, AZ; his five children Heather Christensen, Sarah Anderson, Lisa
Kilpatrick, Alan Pack, and Justin Black; sons-in-law Chris Christensen, Terry
Anderson, and Jim Kilpatrick; eight grandchildren Brooklynn, Aspen, Carson,
Cameron, Hannah, Sullivan, Fisher, and Alexa; seven siblings Peggy Stevens,
Donna Allen, Connie Myers, Robert Black, Linda Murray, Rick Black, and Chris
Black; in-laws Cal Cottrell, John Stevens, Danny Allen, Bruce Myers, Marilyn
Black, Ross Murray, and Jeanne Black; his biological mother, Barbara Van
Cleave; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends
in Alaska, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, and Cedar City. Ron was preceded in
death by his sister, Mary Cottrell, his biological father, Dallas Gray, and
his grandparents. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the Huntsman
Cancer Institute, Inspiration Hospice, and the Cottonwood Heights 1st Ward for
the care and tenderness they gave to Ron and his family. Funeral services for
Ron will be held on Saturday June 18, 2005 at 11:00 AM, at the Holbrook
Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call on Friday evening from
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and again on Saturday morning form 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM prior
to the services. He will be laid to rest at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Condolences

Franck, Irene Ence
Irene Ence Franck Salt Lake City, Utah Our wonderful Mom, Irene Ence Franck,
of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2005, at the age of
92. She was born May 15, 1913, to Arthur and Zoe Johnson Ence in Richfield,
Utah. She is survived by one son, Jay (Mary Ann) Nielson; three daughters,
Doris (Gene) Bohman, Mavis (Darrell) Ewell, Kathy (Chris) McNeill; 22
grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She is also
survived by sisters, Naomi Bowring, Bountiful; Shirley Sorenson, Richfield;
Joyce Williams, Florence, OR. Preceded in death by parents; husbands, Rulon E.
Nielson, Reed B. Peterson, Pete A. Franck; sister, Janice Rasmussen; brothers:
Arthello Ence, Floyd Ence; and an infant granddaughter, Dawn Irene Ewell. She
was a member of the LDS Church. We are so grateful for our Mom, for her
example, work ethics, and love throughout her life. We love you Mom! Many
thanks to our sister-in-law, Mary Ann, for all her help and friendship, and to
our sister, Kathy, and her daughters for their many years of loving care of
Mom. Kathy has truly lost her best friend. Graveside services will be held

Hereth, Lyle George
Lyle George Hereth 10/14/47 ~ 6/16/05 Lyle George Hereth was born in Everett,
Washington to L. Walter and Alvina Weber Hereth, the second of four children.
Lyle served his country from 1965 to 1968 in the U.S. Army with one year in
Vietnam. He earned an A.A. degree from Everett Community College in
Washington, a B.S. from Weber State University in Electrical Engineering
Technology, and an MEA from the University of Utah. Lyle and his sweetheart,
Margaret S. Brewer, were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple Dec. 19, 1978 for time
and all eternity. Lyle served throughout his life, giving freely of his time
and talents to his church, community, country and family. He loved acting,
cooking and being out of doors. Lyle is survived by his father, L. Walter
Hereth of Monroe, Washington; brothers, Kenneth and Mark Hereth; sister, Gay
R. Schwarzmiller; wife, Margaret S. Hereth; children, Christopher L. (Kara),
Walter L. (Veronica), Emilie S., Jennifer S., and Jacob L. Hereth; and
grandchildren, Audrey L. and E. Belen Hereth. Lyle passed away due to Renal
Cancer after a fight of nearly two years. The family wishes to express their
gratitude to the wonderful, compassionate staff at the Huntsman Cancer
Institute, as well as the IHC homecare nursing staff. Funeral services will be
held on Monday, June 20th at 1 p.m. in the LDS Chapel on Main Street and 2700
South in Salt Lake City, UT. The public viewing will be held from 5 - 8 p.m.
Sunday evening at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and one hour
prior to the funeral services at the church. Interment Murray City Cemetery.

Marsden, James Lyman
James Lyman Marsden "Loving Husband and Father" James Lyman Marsden passed
away suddenly in St. George, Utah with his sweetheart by his side. He was born
October 11, 1924 in Taylorsville, Utah to Clyde and Annie Ivy Skeen Marsden.
He married his sweetheart, Donna Louise Reynolds, on November 4, 1942 in the
Salt Lake Temple. James served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was active in the LDS Church, served on the High Council, and held many
church positions. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. His greatest joy
was actively participating in the lives of his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years; children,
Linda L. Marsden, Jacklyn A. (Paul) Nordhoff, James C. (Jody) Marsden, and
Sandra K. (Dennis) Pond; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two
brothers, C. Skeen Marsden, and Hal S. Marsden. Preceded in death by his
parents, two sisters, and one grandson. Funeral services will be held on
Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Union Fort 6th Ward, 1300 E. 6710 So.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So.
State Street, and Monday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment

Montoya Sr., Fernando R.
Fernando R. Montoya Sr. "Grandpa nando" Fernando Robert Montoya Sr., age 57.
Born: May 24th, 1948 to Onesimo and Elvira Jiron Montoya in LaJara, Colorado.
Fernando died peacefully with his family surrounding him on June 15, 2005. He
loved to play solitaire and when he was younger he enjoyed hunting, fishing
and camping. He also loved to go on vacation to Disneyland, "It's a Small
World" being his favorite ride. For him it was truly the happiest place on
earth. He had many joys in his life especially his family who will miss him
greatly. His wife, Hedy, of 37 years, survives Fernando. He is also survived
by his daughters, Geneva (Chuck) Tanner, West Jordan, Utah; Lori (Jim) Wilcox,
Grantsville, Utah; and his two sons, Fernando (Raven) Montoya Jr., West
Jordan, Utah; and Manual Escajera, Farmington, NM. His biggest accomplishments
in life were his many grandkids, KaiLani, Courtney, Shalayne, Kendra, Jared,
Damien, Emily, Manual Jr., and Tiffany. He also leaves behind two brothers,
Joseph (Kassie) Sanchez and Tommy Amado (Bonnie) Montoya; a special
mother-in-law, Mary Lovato; and two sister-in-laws, Jeri Cintas and Mary
Lovato; one brother-in-law, Edward Lovato; and many nieces and nephews that
loved him very much. Fernando had special nicknames for every one of his
grandkids and would often call them by those names but he did that with love.
Although he had a hard life as a child, that did not stop him from showing
love and affection for everyone he cared about. He has a lot of extended
family that will really miss him. His immediate family would like to thank his
"Sister" Eleanor Ocana for her love and support up until his time came.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother Joe Morris Montoya and a very
special brother-in-law Johnny Lovato and many aunts and uncles. Dad (Grandpa)
we will miss you and hope that you are watching over us to keep us safe.
Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Our Lady of
Lourdes Catholic Church, 2840 South 9000 West. Friends may call at the church
on Monday 6-7 p.m. Prayer service will be held Monday 7 p.m. Committal:

Pulsipher, Gwen Leavitt
Gwen Leavitt Pulsipher 1/12/1925~6/16/2005 Gwen Leavitt Pulsipher, age 80,
passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2005, surrounded by her loving
family. Gwen was born January 12, 1925 in Bunkerville, Nevada to John and
Lillian Leavitt. Gwen married H. Stewart Pulsipher September 23, 1942 in the
St. George LDS Temple. Gwen was a busy mother who has taken good care of her
family. She was a hard worker inside her home, canning, and outside in the
orchard She worked side by side with Stewart building their homes. She was
faithful member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many callings. Gwen
is survived by her husband, H. Stewart; children; Errol (Paula), Bryan
(Debra), Darron (Tracee); 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister,
June Waite; brother, Reed (Barbara) Leavitt; sisters-in-law, Bernece (Orson)
Leavitt, Lucille (Keith) Lewis. Preceded in death by a son Leon; parents;
mother and father-in-law; two brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will
be held on Monday June 20, 2005, at 12:00 noon, at the Rosecrest First Ward,
3101 South 2300 East. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM

Sirianni, Joseph Carmen
Joseph Carmen Sirianni 1968 ~ 2005 Joseph Carmen Sirianni, fun loving son,
brother, uncle, nephew and cousin left us suddenly on June 16 2005, from heart
failure. Joe was born March 3rd, 1968 to Albina Alberico and Carmen Sirianni.
Joe graduated from Cyprus High School. He lived in West Valley City all his
life and had numerous friends. Everyone who ever met Joe, instantly liked him.
He coached little league football for the Cyprus Pirates for four years. He
loved children and all his young cousins and they all loved to play with
"Cousin Joe". He was our "Big Burly Bear". He especially adored his little
nephew Dominic and had a wonderful relationship with his beloved sister Tina
and parents Albina and Carmen. Joe loved rock and roll, the Pittsburg Steelers
and his extended Italian family. He was his Aunt Kay's favorite nephew and he
would often remind her of this. Joe was self-employed as a carpet installer
for much of his adult life. He also worked for Rail Terminal Services for five
years and was currently employed with Fratto & Sons. Joe overcame many
challenges in his life and was an inspiration to his entire family. He is
survived by his father Carmen, sister Tina, (Sam) Lewis, nephew Dominic,
special Aunt Kay Fratto and numerous aunts, cousins and friends. He was
preceded in death by his adoring mother, Albina. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 4501 West
5215 South. A Vigil service will be held Monday 7:30 p.m. where friends may
call from 6-7:30 p.m. and one hour prior Tuesday also at the church. Committal
Mt. Calvary Cemetery 4th Ave. & T Street. Director's Neil O'Donnell and Sons.

Thorn, Blaine R.
Blaine R. Thorn 1926 ~ 2005 Blaine R. Thorn, 78, quietly left this life on
Thurs., June 16, 2005. A compassionate, caring, outgoing man, Blaine loved
unconditionally and extended his friendship to everyone he met. All who knew
Blaine considered him a friend. He will be greatly missed. A resident of
Springville, Utah for most of his life, Blaine was born September 15, 1926 in
Spring Canyon, Utah (Carbon County) and raised in Springville. He attended
Springville schools and BYU in addition to serving in the US Navy during World
War II. Blaine served as president of the studentbody at Springville High
School, where he fell in love with the studentbody secretary, Shirley Johnson.
Blaine and Shirley were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 9,
1946. They lovingly raised six children. During the 59 years they spent
together, their family grew to number 40 people including children,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and those who married into the family.
Blaine was careful to show his love to each one individually. The family
remains close today largely because of the legacy of family activities at the
cabin, Lake Powell, or elsewhere in Southern Utah. He loved being outdoors,
especially with his family. Blaine spent 35 years in a career as an Allstate
Insurance agent working out of the Provo Sears store and later from an office
in his home. He had policyholders throughout the state and seemed always to
remember each person's name. It was a perpetual family joke that you could
never go anywhere with Blaine without running into someone he knew, often they
were clients. He would always stop to say hello. A Bishop in two different
wards and a Stake Presidency member, Blaine served faithfully in many
leadership positions in the LDS church. He also served a mission in San Diego
with his companion, Shirley. His life revolved around faith, family, and
friends. He lifted and strengthened others through his leadership, friendship,
and love. Blaine maintained his warm and caring nature throughout his life,
even in the last stages of a long struggle with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's
diseases. The family wishes to thank Art City Nursing and Rehab Center and
Rocky Mountain Hospice for their compassionate care during the last few months
of Blaine's life. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and their children:
Patricia and Gary (Ellis) of Mapleton; Randy and Janet of Humble, TX; Brent of
San Francisco, CA; Craig and Sarah of Washington, D.C.; Jenette and Don
(Swain) of Springville; and Brian and Lynette of Salt Lake City. He is also
survived by 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Orland Elwood and Millie Saphrona, sisters Lois Thorn
and LaRayne Bird, and brother Ted Thorn. Funeral services will be held on
Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Springville Stake Center (approx. 600
E. 300 S.). Friends are invited to attend the viewing at the Wheeler Mortuary
(211 E. 200 S., Springville), Sunday evening from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. or at the
church on Monday from 9:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the
Springville Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
sending a donation in Blaine's name to the Alzheimers Association at 225 N.
